Awesome teacher! Teaches really well and clarifies everthing if you have a question or confused with something. Homework not mandatory, but has quizzes and extra credit.

Ms Fischer is by far the best math teacher I've ever had. She makes math so releveant. I haven't passed a math class since elementary school and so have avoided math at all costs. She eased me into math and took me to heights I never thought I would achieve. My final score 96.3, need I say more. Look out for her for your next math class at ACC.

I absolutely DESPISED Math before taking Mrs. Fisher's developemental math class. I have always been horrible at math (been out of highschool for 9 years). She is a fabulous math teacher though. Very helpful and clear....... but, her problem is testing; she assigns homework from the book and then writes her own tests. This is a bad combo if you study the homework because the test material is different. So beware of her testing strategy if u take this class.... I was pre-warned but I chose to ignore them and now I wish I would've listened!

Her tests are different than the book, but I like the test better than the book!!! so it works out in your favor!! so far the concepts on the test are exactly what she highlights in class.

Very good professor, I would highly recommend her. She clearly presented the material and is very helpful in answering any questions. This class was a lot of work and almost daily quizzes make attendance pretty much mandatory. Tests were over material presented in class, sometimes this material did differ from the way that the book presented it.

Absolute must for a professor. If you are just beginning math, or even college, or haven't been in a classroom setting for quite some time, I highly recommend this teacher. She is organized and extremely helpful and makes class interesting. She makes sure everyone understands what the material is. One of the best.

Had her for Trig and Pre Cal. Would take her for Cal I and Cal II if she taught it. Highly recommend as long as you've had College Algebra before Trig, and have has Trig before Pre Cal. Material not easy, but she teaches it very well.

Professor Kostka is very organized. She lays out on day 1 what the course will be like. She is a wonderful professor, I would recommend her to anyone. Textbook is necessary, but "my math lab" for 0330 is not.

I have taken this class twice in fact. The first time I barley pass (and that was because I was relearning though her class on REALLY do math problems) and the second time passed with flying colors. She gives a quiz almost every week so be sure to go to class and do your homework. Her lectures and examples are very clear and easy to understand. As long as you know your math skills and memorize certain formulas, you should get an A. If you're not sure, you can ask her during office hours and all questions will be answered.

I love Julie so much!! I spent my whole math career with her at ACC starting from basic math. She is so helpful, sweet, compassionate and caring. She will do whatever she can to help you understand. 3 She will let you turn in late homework if you don't understand the material. She gives out a lot of homework but it's actually very helpful. :)

Good professor, you'll have to do the homework or you'll get left behind. She works with the students and is understanding. She's understanding about late homework. Good explanations of concepts. Lots of quizzes and homework. Gives a test review which if you understand will help you a lot with the actual test.

Proff Kostka is an excellent teacher. She is extremely clear in the subject matter and will cover subjects as many times as needed for you to comprehend the material. Great personality, extremely nice, and gives multiple opportunities outside of class to help one on one. Fair grader, gives test reviews, and is clear on material she will test on.

Julie really cares for her students, she is always willing to stay after class and gives multiple opportunities for extra credit. In my opinion, a bad grade comes from the student, not teacher, so as long as you are willing to put the work in, you should get an A. I recommend her to anyone. I took her 5.5 week course and she was great.

I've never loved math it's always been a difficult subject for me, but she definitely makes math tolerable. She's always super helpful and explains things very well. Honestly the only down side is you have to do both MML and book homework as well as MML quizzes and in class quizzes. I definitely would take her class again.

When first attending ACC I had a lot going on and she was very understanding. She gave clear grading criteria and made sure we understood the material before assigning homework.

Honestly the best teacher I've ever had. She is very clear and concise. She will take all the time you need to learn. The SI instructor she had with our class was almost as great a teacher as she was. Really did give you every opportunity to really learn.

Julie is very nice. She does not give you the answers when you ask for help but she does push you to find them yourself. She is always available when you need her. She does give quite a bit of homework but it only helps. She is very respected and our entire class loved her. She is a very good professor and her lectures are great!

I've found this professor using this site. I started with her taking MATD 0370 five semesters ago now starting my Calculus track this fall. She is I think the hardest working and most talented professor I've ever had the pleasure of being a student for. You must do the work, but she is there every step with you and for you. JULIE IS A SAINT AND IF ANYONE SAYS DIFFERENTLY, THEY'RE IGNORANT. I LOVE JULIE. She cares so much about her students and is incredibly knowledgeable. She doesn't just have you memorize a ton of equations, she teaches them to you and explains why they work. She's the greatest and YOU SHOULD BE SO LUCKY TO HAVE HER AS YOUR PROFESSOR.

If you need help, you can get it in class and during office hours. She goes over any questions students have about tests or quizzes once handed back. She gives lots of partial credit so long as she sees you trying to actually solve the problem. If you take the fast track Trig and PreCalc course, prepare for no social life.

Math makes sense

She has lots of homework and quizzes everyday. she says no memorization but there's A LOT you have to remember. A LOT. Her tests are heavy hitters. the make up for at least 75% of your grade. so don't worry so much about missed homework. focus on those tests.

Professor Kostka was honestly the best algebra (or just math for that matter) teacher I have EVER had. Always available to help you outside of class if you didn't understand. Really sweet lady, and used stickers and fun colored pens to "grade" the hw. Gives LOTS of partial credit on tests, which was GREAT. AWESOME TEACHER 100% recommend

(Took the fast track Trig/PreCal) They don't get much better than Kostka. Class was very organized and corresponded with the syllabus almost identically. If you are doing the fast track math option, know that it is difficult but she is probably the best option to get you through it. TONS of hw, either 3 or 4 tests + mandatory final.

Ms. Kostka was the first math teacher I had at ACC and she was absolutely wonderful - I took her for pre-cal and (granted, I'm a math person) left with an 105 in the class. She really makes sure students understand the lectures and her tests are pretty similar to the homework. She's flexible with students and made the class super enjoyable for me.

Ms. Kostka is the best math teacher I've ever had. I took the Trig and Precal fast track with her and it was great! If you are thinking about taking the two 8 week math classes, just know it'll be A LOT of homework, quizzes everyday, and some difficult tests. She's super understanding and she will try her best to make sure you understand math!

Julie is an exceptional teacher. She explains difficult concepts well and is more than willing to take extra time if you're struggling with something. College Algebra is a difficult class if you aren't a math person because of the volume of material. She gives a quiz every class but they're short, 2-3 questions based off the last lecture.

I took the fast track 8 week course of Trig/ Pre-Cal. If this is the option your electing to take, there will be a lot of homework, quizzes and at minimum 4 tests in each course. It is pretty difficult, but she will do her best to make it as easy to understand. Take advantage of her office hours, I felt it helped me pass both courses.

The material is difficult but she really does make it as straight forward as possible through her amazing notes. She prints it out and in lecture you fill in the gaps with her. She doesn't skip steps which is key for ppl with weak math skills (me). 4 tests. Quiz every week I believe? To succeed, I did need to go to learning lab a lot (Hw, study).

She is extremely nice and always tries to help you as much as she can. Her quizzes are pretty hard but her tests are manageable. I would take her if I can for other classes but unfortunately, she doesn't teach Dif. Eq. I love her and her lectures are pretty good. If you want to learn calculus, take her class.

She is an extremely helpful professor! The homework was online but was still understandable. If you still don't comprehend the work a quick visit with her in her office clears it up. Quizzes weren't hard but weren't easy. Tests feel average. She will know you from then on, I ask for advice with future classes when I can and she will advise you.

Julie is one of the kindest professors Ive ever had. Im not a math person though, and the class was tough, theres an easier version that I would have taken called MATH1332, instead of college algebra it is college math. In Julies class theres a short quiz everyday over the previous hw, and hw every night. Textbook used for hw available online.

Prof. Kostak gives quizzes every class over the material taught in the previous class. There are 4 tests plus final exam which she can use to drop your lowest test grade. There is not enough time in class for her to go over all the possible problems so you will have to work a lot on your own as well. She is clear with grading and very carrying.

Professor Julie is really kind and cares about your success. Quizzes and new notes are given each class. It is imperative to read through the chapters before class because sometimes she does not go into enough detail in lectures.

Professor Kostka is passionate about math. She was able to make a super-intensive online summer class fun to attend. But be prepared to practice, she will give lots of homework, extra practices, and quizzes (including group quizzes). Her tests are pretty hard, but if you ask questions in class and office hours, and practice a lot, you'll be fine.

I took Ms Julie's class during the quarantine. She does everything in her power to help you pass the class, even though the first half is really rough.

Julie's class can be pretty tough, but she's willing to help when you ask. Gives good feedback on quizzes and exams. Homework isn't graded, but paramount to doing well in her class. Quizzes are weekly, and are similar to the material on exams. Great professor.

You will enjoy this class regardless of how much you hate math. There is a strong emphasis on working with classmates, however, group work is only 5% of your grade. Professor Kostka makes herself very available to students and is eager to help you with anything, including basic algebra things. Her calculus class will be time consuming but worth it.

Julie Kostka is hilarious, caring, and a great teacher. I thought I hated math but Julie made me realize I don't have to be scared of math. I was eager to get to class each morning and to learn. I took the 12-week course online -- GREAT! She had a good attitude and I could tell she wanted to help us pass. Tests are based on homework and quizzes. Lots of homework so be ready! I recommend asking lots of questions in class about your homework and quizzes before the test because sometimes her lectures did not help me grasp the concept.
