Dr. Loisel is a fantastic professor! Very willing to answer any question you may have very promptly and is totally open to suggestions. If the class doesn't do well on an exam, she is very will to adapt in any way that helps the students understand more clearly. Interesting lectures with a little humor. A good professor to get to know!
Professor Loisel in my opinion was a glorified high school teacher... Fill out notes, bonus point pop quizzes, and all... But truly, she made a class I had no interest for an easy A! So if you like ease, she's your gal! She cares if her students succeed, so if you're not, she'll go through fiery hoops to get your success for you.
She's an OK prof. The only reason I got an A is because she gives A TON of extra credit. Every class there was a quiz in the morning which counted only for extra credit. The content of the lectures was dry but there was no homework, she gave notes to her lecture every class, and really enabled us to succeed. Put in a little effort and an A is easy.
Professor Loisel wants all her students to get an A. Extra credit is weighted the same as tests, so you can fail a test and still easily make an A as long as you go to class. Extra credit is given every class.
its a 3 test system 33% 33% 33% but she works with the class and told us to take all 3 tests and she would only use the top two 50% 50% so study for those
Most incredibly hard course I have taken at A&M. And I have taken 7 math courses.
She really enjoys the subject taught. Take good notes and study before the tests (just a little) and you'll make an A
She clearly loves this course and wants her students to enjoy it too. The tests aren't blow-offs and she gives pop quizzes throughout the semester so you have to attend lecture. However she know's that her tests aren't that easy and gives a lot of extra credit that saves your grade.
Awesome course & professor. She loves the material and makes it very easy to learn in the way she teaches it. I would take any class taught by her. Tests are a bit hard, but not impossible if you just go to class and do the notes which she gives you handouts for. Book isn't necessary but helps. can be found online as pdf for free. A lot of ExCred.
Dr. Loisel is a great professor. The content is not hard and she keeps her lectures interesting. She reaches out to her students and gives a lot of extra credit. As long as you go to class and take notes, this class is a pretty easy A. If I could, I would take another class taught by her.
I really enjoyed Dr. Loisel's class. She does a great job of making the content understandable and interesting. You can easily tell she has a passion for the subject. Do all of the homework assignments, study for the short occasional quizzes, and go to SI prior to the exams and you're sure to do great.
Some of the homework assignments are difficult; for example, a lot of her homeworks require extensive knowledge of how to use Excel. For a liberal arts major like me, that's hard and I didn't do so well on those. She is passionate about her field of study and VERY approachable.
Her tests are kinda hard, but she offers a ton of optional extra credit. I'm pretty sure I ended up having at least 10 points of extra credit on my final grade. You really do get the grade you deserve. If you do all the extra credit (it may be a lot) then you can very likely achieve an A. And she's very sweet and enthusiastic! Take her!
Professor Loisel took a topic that I wasn't interested in at all, and made it really enjoyable to study for. After the first test I was worried I would end the class with a C, but because she cared about our grades, she offered tons of extra credit, allowing me to end the class with an A.
I enjoyed this class a lot more than I though I would! A lot of homework that requires knowledge of excel (but she explains step by step EXACTLY how to do it) and Google earth. The final project was SO much fun to do. She is extremely helpful and super nice. Her tests are difficult, but she does offer lots of extra credit to boost your grade.
Dr. Loisel is the best prof ever. She is so sweet and kind, she really wants to help you. Tests were difficult, but she offers so much extra credit I ended up with over a 100 in the class. I loved listening to her lectures, and she was very helpful in her officer hours. I would love to take her again.
She cares a lot about her students and wants everyone to make As. This is a super easy science credit and test are all online! She has homework assignments every week but they are not to hard. She gives tons of extra credit where my grade was from a low B to a A+!! Take her!
I took her Hybrid class which is one day of class each week and then a lot of online lectures. Take notes from online lectures and use them on the online test. No studying needed. Go to class because there is always a quiz over the online lectures. She gives you the answers to the quizzes and does homework with you in class. Lots of extra credit!
Dr. Loisel is a great professor. She isn't the stereo typical professor to be not helpful. She truly helps you if you need it. Only one comment is that she uses technology a lot so if that isn't your thing you might want to reconsider. Examples of this include online lectures and one assignment making your own recording.
LOVE this professor!! She truly wants to help you succeed. She's so kind and knowledgeable. Quiz each class but she gives answers. Homework every week using technology (she teaches you step by step how). Tests are sorta difficult but take good lecture notes and you'll be fine. LOTS of extra credit and will extend deadlines if you email her!
LOVED her! She was so sweet and genuinely cares about everyone's success. Her class is hybrid and you do the homework in the one class you meet in every week. Quizzes every class but they're not taken for a grade, she gives the answers. 10/10 would recommend!!!
Professor makes lessons I would normally never care about interesting and worth my time. Many lectures are online podcasts which was strange at first but turned out to be extremely useful and convenient. Tests were fair and tested what was taught. No trick or dumb questions.
Had in a hybrid setting where I only had to come to class once a week. Homework assignments were major parts of the grade, which she would help walkthrough them in class, which was quite helpful. The tests had one issue where once you answered a question, you could not go back and change your choice, so take good notes and be sure of your answers.
Really awesome professor. Have a homework every week that can sometimes be hard, but if you go to class she will show you exactly how to do it. Have quizzes every class, but she gives you answers. Watch all lectures on youtube, take good notes and you will do really well on tests. Also gives extra credit quizzes online and other little assignments.
Definitely take this class for your science requirement. It's basically online (watching videos), there is tons of extra credit, and everyone is pretty much guaranteed an A or a B.
TAKE THIS CLASS! Easy and caring professor. Just take her.
This class is an easy A. You meet once a week and take a group "quiz" which is really just to see if you absorbed the information from the online lectures. The quiz doesn't count for a grade, but as a way to "take attendance" to see if you actually attended lectures. The class can last from 20 mins to the whole class time and are a review.
Professor Loisel cares a lot about her students and tries to make sure everyone understands the material. I took her hybrid course and had online homework every week. Make sure to watch her videos and take notes, they will be helpful on exams. Professor Loisel also gives lots of extra credit so take advantage of it. Great professor.
Do not take this class unless you know how to use excel. I did not and it really hurt me. With that said, its ok as long as you show up and study the night before. Don't buy the txt book, its not necessary. This class is a lot more stress than what is necessary because the homework counts a lot towards your grade (the excel).
This class is relatively easy. If you don't know how to use excel it will hurt you. There are two tests, an easy final project and a mandatory final. Don't buy the text book, just come to class, for the attendance grade, go to the supplemental instructions, and study a few days before the test. Homework is all started in class, if not finished.
LOTS of extra credit !! Out of the four tests over the course of the semester, I only ended up taking one and still made a 96 in the class. Yes, if you take her hybrid then you have a lot of homework, but its only one assignment each week (usually pretty short). In regards to the comments about Excel, there are plenty of tutorials online for help.
One of the nicest professors I've ever had. Genuinely cares if her students learn the information. SO much extra credit. Online lectures can be long, just depends on which topic. One homework assignment per week (fairly easy). Take her!!!
The class is half online and half in class. Majority of your grade will be based on homework assignments due every week. Open notes tests and she takes the best exam grade out of two. Overall, a very easy class to get in an A in.
One of the BEST profs I have had so far! Don't be scared by the excel comments, she is very helpful and will explain to you how to use excel if you have any questions. Watch the online lectures!! Tests are open note but it helps to study before the exams. She is passionate about what she does & wants students to genuinely enjoy the class. TAKE HER!
One of the easiest classes i've ever taken. If you do good on the first test you can skip the rest and STILL get over a 100 in the class. This semester she offered like 20 EC points on your total grade. She also seems like she is passionate about what she teaches. She is extremely nice and helpful
I did very poor on all of her exams. But I was consistent with her homework assignments , doesn't grade them harshly and works them out at the end of class. Only met once a week, other times were online lectures. She's a little disorganized but don't freak out do your homework and you'll be fine. Go to tutoring for excel, HELPS A LOT.
While I was not extremely interested in the course material, and doing the homework seemed excessive at times. The extra credit in this course and showing up to class makes it an easy A. She gave quizzes as extra credit, explained all homework at the end of class, and I did not pass any exams but got an A in the class.
I can honestly say that I did not do very well on her tests but there is so much homework and extra credit that it really wont matter in the end. Show up and take the quizzes, they are participation and they end up adding a large amount of bonus points to your grade. DO THE EXTRA CREDIT!! She is kinda hard to understand at times but it is worth it.
The first two weeks of this class for summer are work intensive. The last three weeks are easier and less demanding. Watch the lectures, take good notes, and do the extra credit. Great science credit for non-majors and Professor Loisel cares about her students. There is one assignment in excel but it will not break your grade, do not stress.
5 week summer class, and I got an easy A. It's basically just a bunch of busy work, but I didn't watch any of the lectures and got As and Bs on all tests. Her homework are easy, you just have to put in the time. Definitely recommend though!
For a class that depends completely on her video lectures, you would naturally expect quality videos. They are painful to watch because of so much static and noise. Lots of very involved homework. Tests not too hard. Good extra credit.
Liosel is good, but we did a hybrid class where we only went in one day of the week and the other day we watched her lecture videos online. Not a hard class, I really liked the topics and shes pretty entertaining and understanding. If you just do the hw and study a little you should get an A.
Take Dr. Loisel! She is an amazing, very passionate professor and cares about students and their grades. The hardest thing in her class is her homework assignments, which she doesn't even grade with much scrutiny. She is very entertaining and you will learn something valuable. Quizzes are a group effort. Tons of extra credit opportunities.
Often the online video lectures for this class drag on and on with each module having about 3+ hours of videos. (which are also not very high quality) However, she is very sweet and clearly knows what she is talking about when it comes to the material. I usually studied a day before the tests and did well-make sure you do all homeworks and quizzes!
Loisel is a great professor. Her class is a hybrid class and you only go to class on your assigned day. She is one of the best professors at TAMU, she is passionate and caring about the course and her students. No reading but they're online lectures, some are long but it's not bad. You can take quizzes with your peers. TAKE HER! Easy science cred.
By far the easiest class I have taken at tamu, there is so much extra that if you don't get an A in this class, it's completely on you. The biggest mistake I made was renting the textbook, you don't need it whatsoever.
Class is very easy, you go on your assigned day and the other day is supposed to be spent online. There are online lectures but I never watched them. I do well on the quizzes and tests by taking notes in class and reviewing the material she says to know before tests. She also goes over the quiz questions before you turn them in. Take her!
Easy A. There are 6 homework grades, 6 quizzes, and 6 exams. Quizzes are done in class and you can talk to people around you and use google. She does a lot of the homework with you in class. Tests are 20 questions each and easy as long as you read through the study material. She splits the class up so you only go to class once a week.
Dr. Loisel is super sweet and truly cares about the material she is teaching. She is French Canadian so listening to her lectures is very interesting and the class is very easy going and fun. She gives tests, quizzes, homework assignments, and A LOT of extra credit opportunities, so making an A should definitely be within reach. GREAT professor.
She has majority of her lectures online which hurt (the microphone/speaker that she uses is horrible). Hardly ever take any in class notes. It is Hybrid class and because that only had to show up once a week. If you pay attention the videos, the test are extremely easy and this class should be an easy A. She gives lots of extra credit with every hw
Dr. Loisel is a solid choice for Geography. Her class lectures, which were only once a week, were all interesting and easy to follow. I would venture to say that 90% of the work is done online, (mostly listening to lectures and taking notes). Science is not my thing and I still ended up with an A in this course. She is very generous with extra cred
Dr Loisel runs an extremely relaxed class, she splits the section up in half so you only go to class one day of the week and the other day you have to watch some extremely low quality video lectures she records on a potato. It's a relatively easy class and she is very forgiving if you happen to miss an exam, I gave bare minimum effort and got a B
This is the easiest class I have ever taken. You have to watch a couple of videos each week and some homework assignments. You only have to go to class once a week and you usually leave early. I got over a hundred in the class.
Went into this class expecting an easy A after reading the reviews. Not sure if it was because I took this class in the summer or just because they changed the format but this class was a pain. Lots of busy work and the tests weren't that easy. Lectures were not good quality. As long as you don't mind working for your A then this is an OK class.
I took GEOG 203 online over the summer. While the class required a lot of work it was not difficult. There are 2 group projects and 2 virtual fieldtrips that take a lot of time but are pretty easy. Overall just watch most of the lecture before the exams and you'll be fine. There are 5 exams but she drops the lowest and offers extra credit.
I took this class over the summer and it was not that difficult. The class had a lot of busy work, but as long as you do it, youll get a passing grade. She offers a couple of extra credit, which is always super easy. The lectures are not that bad if you put earphones honestly. The tests are easy if you watch the lectures. Overall I ended with an A
Professor Loisel is so sweet! She truly cares for her students and makes sure everyone is able to understand the material. There is a lot of homework since we use TopHat for most assignments and exams. However, her lectures are really interesting and I really enjoyed her class.
Amazing professor. There is quite a bit of homework, but it is very useful for the course. Tests are taken on TopHat so maker sure to check the answers because sometimes the system is wrong. You leave her class feeling that you are educated on the topic. Just show up, pay attention and you will pass. She gives you every opportunity to pass.
Easy science credit for business majors! My class was half online half in person, all tests were online and open book which made them easy! Lectures were not too bad and you actually learn stuff; some lectures were in person some were in person. We also had virtual field trips which made for nice easy projects.
Doesn't take much time at all, and all of the tests are online. Definitely attend class for the extra credit quizzes. There's a ridiculous amount of extra credit offered, and you should 100% be able to make an A if you put in minimal effort. Dr. Loisel is also really passionate about her class and research, and shes insanely knowledgeable as well.
Do the work in the class with effort and you will get an A. Tests are open note. Attend the lectures because thing that she says in the lecture that are not on the notes are testable too.
Loisel is super caring and so passionate about her job. So much extra credit is given that if you even put the bare minimum in, you'll get an easy A. The material is actually interesting, and the tests are all open notes. Quite a few busy work assignments but they don't take too much time. Definitely recommend Loisel!
Tonnnnns of extra credit opportunity. Professor grades on a curve, making it really easy to pass the class. Attendence is NOT mandatory, quizzes are optional. Exams are open note and taken online at home. If you do the work youre sure to pass the class (put in minimal effort and passed). Professor is friendly, approach but slow to answer emails.
Loisel is an incredible professor. She splits the class in half. A-L on Tuesday's and M-Z on Thursday's. She posts all the lecture notes online, so you don't really have to go to class. 5 exams ALL online. SO much xtra credit opportunities. I finished the class with a 102/100. Definitely an easy science elective for business majors.
Lots of stuff online. Only have class once per wk. She's really nice, and the class isn't too bad. 5 exams all online & drops the lowest. Watch the videos, pay attention, and you will be fine. Lots of extra credit. Sit towards the front because her accent and how loud she talks can sometimes make it hard to understand. Really great prof overall
I have taken two classes from Dr. Loisel (GEOS 444 & GEOG 203). She deeply cares about her students and their learning. She structures the class in a way that makes sure we are learning the material not simply memorizing it. Both her classes were an easy A if you try even a little to understand the information. Inspiring, the best professor at A&M.
Dr. Loisel is great! Her lectures are very clear and easy to listen to. The projects she assigns are interesting and fun. I learned a lot from this class and definitely recommend taking it!
Professor Loisel is a top tier professor, plain and simple. Hybrid class means A-L on Tuesdays and M-Z on Thursdays. Lots of resources are on her portal, but still easy to use. Amazingly easy to get in contact with and genuinely cares about what she does and who she does it for.
Class was a T/Th but only had to come one of the days a week based on last name which was nice. Not a lot of "homework" but there are video lectures you have to watch every week. Came to class only to get the participation and extra credit points available through. All of the work wasn't hard at all, you just had to get it done!
Dr. Loisel is an amazing professor! She cancels class a lot which is good. Most class information are online lectures which can be interesting but can take a good amount of time. Exams and quizzes are open note.
Class was only once a week and she cancelled it half the time. There's a couple group projects but they're easy enough to get done in an hour. Almost every assignment is extra credit and the exams are open note. She's probably one of the easiest profs I've ever had.
This class is stupid easy. My eighth grade sister would think this class is a joke. Only have to show up to class once a week, and half the time she cancels. Easy science credit.
Class is relatively easy. Open note tests and weekly extra credit assignments or quizzes. Class is split in half alphabetically, with the first half going on Tuesday, and the second half going on Thursday. Not the best when it comes to explaining the topics, and sometimes the in class lectures are a waste of time.
She is so nice! Class is spilt in half by last name so that A-L people only go to class on tuesday and M-Z only go on thursdays so that is great. Also, everytime you go you get extra credit (not mandatory). Easy science A with open note tests. Lectures posted online and lets out class so early every week. Take this class!!
finished this class with a 103/ 100. prof loisel is the sweetest lady ever. and she splits the class in half so you only have to go one day a week. attendence isnt mandatory but you do get bonus points for going. its an extremely EASY class if you do the work.. but there is A LOT of busy work outside of class . also an insane amount of extra credit
She is so nice! Even gave me full credit for an assignment that locked me out! Only one day of class each week, but not mandatory unless you need extra credit. Tests are open note, which are taken from online lectures. When there are projects/tests, the course can require a lot of time, but the course is easy and it isn't hard at all to get an A!
This class was great. Shes so nice. The class is an easy A, but that doesnt mean theres not a lot of work. There are 2-3 projects that take a very long time. But the tests are open note and she gives many extra credit opportunities. Take this if you need a core curriculum science! prof Loisel is super interesting, very nice, and genuinely cares
This class was very frustrating. There are 5 test and she drops the one with the lowest grade. Going to her classes is honestly a huge waste of time and she is barely any help either. She would cancel class many times, once 10 minutes before it started.
Easiest science class I've ever taken! You only have to go to class one day out of the week and it's not even mandatory. If you go, you get extra credit. Tests are online and open book, plus all assignments are super easy. Only downside is how time consuming assignments are, but it's definitely worth it. Final project is a podcast and super easy.
A great science to take. Only have to go to class once a week, rest online. 5 online tests that are manageable, some other online work and tons of extra credit throughout semester. For sure should take this class, take it with friends and work on group projects together. A fun and easy class! Prof is super sweet and funny. no in class work.
AMAZING professor. I couldn't possibly speak higher of her. Easy A class - exams are all online and open book, and the lowest score is dropped. There are some virtual field trips that are a little work but still, definitely an amazing class and an amazing professor.
Class is hybrid, so you only have to attend one day out of the two scheduled. Tests are open note, but you need to watch the lectures to pass them!! Virtual field trips are a bit of work but easy grades once they are finished.
She is a really nice lady, passionate about her class and students. This class is really simple and if you take it hybrid is a nice format. Virtual Field Trips are lengthy but they are interesting to learn about so as long as you do those it will be an easy course! One of the best profs I have had at TAMU.
I enjoyed this class. I found lectures boring sometimes, but you could tell she was very passionate about her work. You only go to class once a week, and she will post videos to watch. There is so much extra credit! All exams are online and there are occasional assignments that do take time, but just power through. She is an easy grader too.
Amazing class and prof!!!! 5 tests and she drops the lowest test grade. If you go to lecture she gives out bonus points added to the end of your grade rather than an assignment. Just watch the videos on ecampus, have the transcripts open for the test & use command f!! I literally got a 106 in the class shes amazing.
Professor Loisel really does want you to make a good grade in this class. I made over a 100 with a B average on exams. If you go to class you get extra-credit, but there are other opportunities outside of class too. The exams aren't bad but can be hard to study for and the few homework assignments (called VFT) are filled with tons of busy work.
If you need an easy science credit, this is the class for you. I put in minimal effort and was able to pull off an A. Lots of extra credit is offered, exams are online, and you only have to go to class once a week. Lectures can be a bit boring sometimes and exams aren't super easy but the VFT and extra credit really helps boost your grade.
I took this as an online class and it consisted of two tophat lecture/activities which are easy but they do count towards a significant amount of your grade. The rest of your grade is from the 5 exams but she drops the lowest one and it was open note exams.
You need to watch the lectures to do well. I had a B average but TopHat is graded very leniently with heavy extra credit in TopHat so I ended with a 95. Using the transcript and reorganizing it while watching the video & highlighting helped so much when taking tests. Lectures are time-consuming but class is as easy as it gets. She is so sweet too!
Her video lectures are entertaining their like a documentary, they are time consuming but you have about 2 weeks to watch like 8 lectures that are max: 40 minutes. Exams are open note. She is a very kind person and is understanding, she generally enjoys what she is doing.
Class was based on a semester long research project in groups. She helps throughout the whole process and is super helpful if you reach a hard point. Has talks to check your progress and is for a grade. It is writing intensive so be prepared for 2 major papers. Understanding and helpful with anything you ask her! Such a great professor!
This class was just what I needed! I was able to finish all the work easily and still get good grades. There were 3 group projects, but it was just creating google slide presentations that you would turn in. 5 tests and she drops the lowest. Im not the smartest person and I was still able to get a 93 in the class. Take this class if you can.
The lecture videos are amazing!! She puts so much work into them. The exams are open note and really easy. There is 3 long homework assignments, give yourself time to do them and you'll be fine. This class is exactly what I needed for a chill class.
her lecture videos are interesting! all exams are open notes which are super nice! she has assignments on top hat that are very lengthy but overall super easy! I recommend taking this class.
This class includes a lot of different ways to be graded and she really cares about how you understand the content, not just giving you a grade. Two exams, 4 homework assignments, and a final group project is what the class was based on. As long as you put in the work an A is easy to come by!
4 HWs, 2 short answer exams, a discussion, and a group project made up the class. She cares more if you learn and retain the material taught in class. Graded material was easy but make sure to pick group partners that show up to class! If you have any problems going on that affect your learning, she'll understand and try to work with you.
Professor Loisel is one of my favorite professors I've had since coming to A&M. I took the online version of her class and she made a point to create documentary feeling lectures so that they were engaging. She also worked with me to rearrange some due dates while I was out of the country for a week. She cares a lot and communicated very well!
TAKE HER FOR PLANET EARTH IF YOU CAN!! This class was by far my easiest class out of my 3 semesters here. 5 exams but they are open note, 2 attempts, and you have plenty of time. There are only 3 assignments which are kind of big and can take time but you have 3 weeks to do them and they are easy things. My grade is a 99 but I know people with 102.
Just take it, great class. The leatures were amazing.
She is very nice, and super helpful when you reach out to email her. The class was very easy and I enjoyed watching her recorded lectures. You can tell she has a passion for her work. There are 3 group projects. but they are all very easy. Overall, cool class.
This was one of my favorite online classes taken. The videos (lectures) she and the TAs put together look like Nat Geo documentaries. Tests are open notes and you get 2 attempts. There are virtual field trips in TopHat (where group projects come in) but they are fairly easy and not too time-consuming. Do the work and you should do well.
This class is an easy A with little work. Prof Loisel is kind and gives extra credit, and the tests are open note. At the end of this semester she gave us an optional extra credit assignment worth up to five whole points added to your grade. It's definitely a good science credit, I would recommend the class to anybody.
Easy class to get an A. The class consists of 5 exams that are open note, 3 virtual field trips that take about a week to finish or less, and lectures that are no longer than 30 minutes. Great professor her lectures feel like you are watching a documentary. Definitely take this class if you want a chill class.
This was a great way to get a science credit towards my degree. Nice and easy course with open note exams and interesting lectures. Couldn't recommend more.
EASY A. Awesome class with an awesome professor! All the exams are open note and the lectures are recorded YouTube videos that are actually interesting. There are 3 virtual field trips that are fun and easy. TAKE THIS CLASS AS YOUR LIFE AND PHYSICAL SCIENCE CREDIT!!!
This prof puts so much effort into her lectures, they are actually enjoyable to watch. Interesting class that isn't too demanding with a professor who is passionate about what she teaches. Exams are open note and the lectures are easy watches. Our homework's were "virtual field trips," which she gave plenty of time to do and are very easy work.
I took Prof Loisel's online version of this course, and from her videos, she was an amazing teacher. Her videos were well in-depth, but to the point and not to much excessive notes. The videos are also transcribed, and her exams are pretty straightforward and open-note. If you need a science take this and be happy with the results. She is great.
Julie Loisel is absolutely amazing! She has a deep passion for her subject and puts a lot of effort into her Geog 203 course! Her lectures are asynchronous, entertaining and very well done. I took her class on a whim because it looked easy and while it was, I found myself really engaging with the lecture material! I loved having her as my prof!
Great prof. Lectures were easy to understand and well-thought out. Tests were easy, open note, and you can take them twice. She was available outside of class as well.
Very easy class, clear that Prof. Loisel is very passionate about what she's teaching. Exams are easy to understand and open note, and assignments are online and very easy. Missed an assignment and she let me turn in an extra credit assignment late to get my grade up. If you need a science credit, take her class if you can.
This class was really easy and entirely asynchronous. The exams are open-note, and many answers are found directly in her lecture transcripts. She sounds really passionate about what she teaches, and I would've been interested to take her class in-person if I had the choice. Definitely recommend!
Dr. Loisel gave us videos she made to watch, which I liked more than normal lectures. The video lectures were relatively easy to understand, and I liked the landscapes in the background. Dr. Loisel was flexible with deadlines and the exams were not too difficult. We also had the opportunity to create a video for half a letter grade of extra credit.
Loisel is great, I had her for Geo 203 online. Really straightforward and divides the class into units. HW assignments for each unit are due every 3-4 weeks. Each unit will have a group project, but totally doable. Tests are open note with two attempts. Take her for an easy online credit!!
Super easy class, completely online. You have 3 weeks to watch her videos and then take an open note exam. There are also homework assignments that are pretty much just busy work, they don't require much effort at all. Well organized, no real need to interact with the prof at all.
super easy science credit. this class is online and asynch. Loisel's lectures r like documentaries that r fun. 5 exams 11% each and open note. 3 VFTs 15% each (textbook hw, ur given a month to complete each one). at the end, there was an extra credit assignment that can literally boost u half a letter grade.
Take this class!! Everything was online. Lectures are not long and have transcripts which are very helpful. 3 virtual field trips (w some group work) that are supposed to be 10 hours, but are super easy, but don't wait until the last minute to get started. 5 tests that are all open-note, 40 minutes, 22 questions. Surely an easy A! Extra credit!
Professor Loisel was very flexible and often extended deadlines for students who may have missed it. This class was online and she provided videos and transcripts as notes. The videos were actually pretty interesting and you can tell she really cares about what she's teaching. I highly recommend this class if you need an easy science credit.
I took the online, asynchronous version, and it was super easy. Dr. Loisel's lecture videos are cool, and the VTFs aren't that bad either. There are 5 exams, and 3 VTFs, and extra credit opportunities, but overall this class is doable.
90% of assignments were done online through Top Hat, and if you completed them early you had a lot of extra time to study for other things. The videos were quite long but necessary for tests which are open notes. All in all very stress-free class and would recommend it.
Loisel shows a lot of effort to make great lectures and organize the class well. There are only 8 grades: 5 exams and 3 big homework assignments. The class is pretty easy and a really entertaining elective to take if you need one. Exams are open note and you can take them twice.
Amazing professor! Very passionate through her lectures and also the exams have 2 attempts, are open book, and are NOT cumulative. Assignments were easy and you probably only need to put in 2 - 3 hours a month to get an A. Overall, easy class and is great to get an easy A.
Great class, prompt grades, interesting and not time-consuming assignment's. Easy A while being fun.
Would highly recommend this class and teacher to anyone! A few group projects, tests, and had 3 different longer assignments, but overall easy. Tests are open note and you have 2 tries on each. Super helpful extra credit that bumped up my grade a lot!! TAKE THIS CLASS!
This class was easy with Loisel. She has done fieldwork and is well-versed in every topic discussed in the lectures. Exams are more conceptual and open note, so as long as you watch the lectures, you will be fine. Homework was fun to do and covered interesting topics, and she responded quickly to my emails with informative answers.
Online, asynchronous class with a new module about every 3 weeks. 5 open note exams, 3 long "virtual field trip" homework assignments, a few group projects. Video lectures were entertaining and informative. If you just do the work you'll do well.
She makes super clear and straightforward videos. If you follow directions and you take notes on the videos you will do well.
Loisel's GEOG203 is a great online class with engaging videos, easy exams, and interesting assignments. While the workload is light, the material is still informative. Unstuck AI was a big help for exam prep.
