great teacher taught on a kindergarten level but very fun!!!
She's new but is doing a great job! I recommend her!
Very nice, helpful, straight foward about material on test, recommend her
Kinda shy, but easy going. She goes slow enough so you actually can soak up everything you go over.
This is my firs psy class that I will be getting an A out of. She is very interesting and you learn alot. She teaches on a level that anyone can understand.
a very good professor, she talks to you like little kids sometimes but she just wants you to understand it
Just a sweetie, she looks like she is 22 and talks like she is nervos, very good teacher also!
She is shy, but very easy to talk to. The class was really easy.
Very nice lady! Take good notes and it will be easy. Tests are 15 multiple choice and essay questions. Seems really shy. Overall easy class and highly recommended.

She could not look at a student eye to eye.It was very hard for me to talk to her becasue she was constantly looking down. She seemed very unsure of herself and did not teach with confidence.

great teacher. Explains things really well, and the tests aren't to bad. I think that she's a pretty east grader. Take her if you can.
Dr. Lynch is an excellent teacher. Her lectures are interesting and she provides many in class activities. Test are fairly easy, and she gives you a study guide to use. She outlines what she wants on required papers. Highly recommended.
If you don't get an A and learn something at the same time, then it is your fault! She is really well prepared, she does the outline notes in PowerPoint, uses Blackboard, gives test study quides, and uses many in class examples. She is simply the best!
She is great. Seems a little nervous in front of class, but is well prepared and informative. Could only do poorly in this class if you didn't even try. She's kind of hot too, in a scolarly way.
She's a great teacher. I had her for Child Psychology and Educational psychology. She's always working on projects outside of class and she's very into what she does.
Great instructor. She is very helpful and an easy grader. Tests weren't too bad. Just read and go to the lectures and you will do fine.
She is a wonderful teacher and extremely accomodating. Her tests are easy and she gives a study guide. Lectures are entertaining and she tries to apply material to your future career.
Great teacher.Knows the material and realates it to real life situations. As long as you keep up with the reading and take notes you will do good on the test. She is a fair grader; 5 paper which are easy to write. Take her if you get the chance.
really nice person..knows her material really well. the papers were pretty easy, and she seems like an easy grader on the tests and the papers. I would definitely take her again.
Great teacher and knows her stuff. Reasonable and fair, worth taking her classes.
Great psychology teacher! One of the best at Svsu!
Cool teacher. Tests are hard if you do not do the readings or the study guide.
She is such a nice lady. Her tests can be hard if you don't keep up with the readings or don't come to class. Her lectures are clear and informative. The class work is also pretty easy. Great prof!!!
not bad.... kind of hard to understand sometimes, but nice andwill help if you ask. tests can be tough, but they're not bad unless you're a slacker :)
Wonderful, can't say enough nice things. Who would have thought gender studies could actually be interesting? Her class felt more like friends talking than a college course. Explains very well and nice person in general.
Not bad...spoonfeeds you the material. Tests are a little tough, but nothing severe.
excellent, but tough! i learned a lot.
She is a very fair teacher. Gives you a review sheet that has the topics for every single question on the exam. Only thing that made this class stink was the psychology department dropping the ball when she had the baby. Nagel, Bittman, and Cassar were all horrible subs. I'd take Lynch anyday.
Tests are kind of tough, must study from book and notes using the review sheet. Boring lectures......
This class was kind of hard but the material was understandable. In class activites help.
She is a very sweet person but is not cut out for a seminar-like class. She seems unsure of herself when lecturing in front of a class, and would do better teaching a class within her subfield of study. Need to reiterate how nice she is though.
Did a pretty decent job of teaching this, considering it was her first time. Don't panic if you get her for the class, it's not too difficult (although discussion posts every week can be a little time consuming).
Lynch is very helpful and straight forward.
She is a wonderful teacher. Very clear on what she expects from you and not a hard grader. Tests aren't too bad if you study. She makes the class fun and interesting. Take her if you get the chance!
Class wasn't too bad. Mostly common sense. can skip all classes and do fine with papers and classroom obs and tests. nice gal, but gives too much busiwork in class.
An open book quiz online before chapter lectures, 2 simple papers, and 3 tests. I had her for Ed also and love how she is straightforward with no tricks.Averages seemed his for 310 than for 317. If you can't show up and pay attention to get at least a B in here you shouldn't be in a 300 level class. She is a super teacher who relates it to real-life
Was a nice break from more demanding classes. It was extremely easy, pretty much a repeat of Child Psych. Papers were simple, tests weren't bad if you reviewed notes and skimmed the book. Extremely helpful. Class was really boring and powerpoint got really old really quickly. Group projects were waste of time, but were given class time to complete.
Class was easy. Alot of busy work. Which really was the only turn off for me.
not to bad go to class notes are online but are missing parts that u only get in class. a few papers nothing to demanding
She is very intelligent and very devoted to teaching. I enjoyed both child psych. and educational psych.
Great Professor! She knows what she is talking about and will help you with any questions you may have. The workload was pretty light and it wasn't hard to do well on them either. I would highly recommend taking her!
I thought that the professor did a good job with the class. I enjoyed being in class and she works well with the students.
Julie is a nice lady, but her test is kind of hard. She lectures a lot in class about a few things and then when it comes to her tests, EVERYTHING from the book is on the test but only a couple from her lecture. She grades pretty easy on the papers and essay questions though. A lot of studying is needed, but she is very helpful.
Julie was a great professor. One of my best Psych teachers yet! She gives a lot of good examples to help explain things. Just make sure you take notes cause her examples help you understand the terms better. I would suggest her.
Dr. Lynch really cares about her material, and her assignments are kinda fun... the final paper is a bit tricky though.
Julie Lynch is an awesome professor. She made class fun and interesting. I would take her again for other psyc. classes.
She was an O.K. prof. The tests were pretty hard; however, the presentations were extrememly easy!!! Her lectures are incredibly BORING! I didnt go to class very often, I figured I could sleep at home instead.
Professor Lynch was a very interesting teacher to listen to. She gave many real-world applications that clarified all the text book material. Her class is not easy though. Her tests are quite challenging and require detailed explanations for the essay section. Do the work, pay attention and read the book for a successful semester.
Dr. Lynch is a great teacher! She knows her field well and openly encourages students to express their own ideas. The textbook is needed for daily online quizes and the test questions are taken from both her pwoerpoints and the book. She provides powerpoints on VSpace but they lack the detail of her in class ones.
Dr Lynch is a very good teacher. Other than the fact that her class is far too easy, everything about it was good. It was interactive and discussion oriented. The book was great, and she was very helpful with everything. The final project was rather irritating, but she graded easily on it, so it wasn't a big deal.
Julie Lynch is a FANTASTIC professor! She is incredibly easy to understand and will help in any way she can. Her lectures are interesting and she gives plenty of applicable examples. Lynch also prepares very helpful study guides, and if you fill them out you'll find her tests to be easy. I would recommend her to anyone!
Dr. Lynch is a good professor, she presents from an in-depth point of view, easily understood, also presents psychology from an objective point of view, as well as offering criticisms where applicable. Could have used more direction for the exams though, make sure you pay attention to more in-depth topics, most likely they will be essays.
Loved this class. She is an awesome teacher. as long as you go to class and at least skim the readings you will do fine. she gives extra credit but i didnt do it and still got an A. i would recommend her.
She is a very nice, organized teacher. She is very knowledgable. Although it does take her a long time to cover a topic. The only complaint I have is she has you take test/quizes before you've even finished the chapter! Tell me how that is helpful!?
Negative: Doesn't hand out study guides for tests. Grades a little hard on papers. Positive: very nice person, knows her stuff. Wouldn't recommend taking her if psych isn't your thing.
Easy, attendance not mandatory, quizzes are simple and online, tests are tricky.
Very nice and helpful. She makes sure everyone has an understanding of the material before she moves on to the next topic.Quizzes are all online and are easy because(obviously)you can use your notes and book.Tests are hard, but,if you pay attention in class&study hard, you'll be fine. She does grade harder on papers, but is fair with the grades.
Only 3 tests and no cumulative exam, but 1 or 2 online book quizzes a week. If you read the book they are not hard at all. She makes everything really clear and easy to understand.
Extremely helpful and nice. The quizzes are beyond easy (online, so open-book). The tests are a bit harder, but still easy if you read the text and pay attention in class.
This class was a challenge only because of the tests. Her questions were tricky, and you had to be in class to understand a lot of what she was asking. She was somewhat of a tough grader on the two major projects, but it did not take a lot of effort to get an A. She was extremely helpful, approachable, and nice.
I hate this class, it's such a pointless class if you're going into teaching. It is very boring and hard. The exams are difficult, there are no study guides. If she is the best professor this subject, I'm not impressed. I don't see why everyone likes her.
Still not a big fan of her for the second time, this class was better than the 315 class, but the exams are still difficult and at least most of the stuff we learn will benefit in the future.
Class was interesting and fairly simple. Quizzes were online (open book) so easy points, tests were multiple choice and short answer, but if you came to class they followed lectures well. She is very helpful with assignments and papers (willing to proofread if you email a draft). Highly recommend :) Fun class and valuable well-taught information!
Dr. Lynch isn't that bad of a professor. She has clear standards and gives plenty of opportunities for points. Careful with papers, she is stiff on citation and plagiarism. Not a super vibrant lecturer, but she isn't super boring either. Lots of small in class work.
She's nice and will give you help when needed. I did not like the essay questions on the exams that's where you will lose most points at. There are open book tests online. Participation, reading the chapters given, and attendance are key to acing this class. She'll give extra points sometimes. Overall this class is fair
She has the tendency to word things in a way that will make an easy question challenging. Other than that, she's great. Super helpful and very friendly. Three exams, and one final presentation that takes up a lot of time. Not very challenging, though. Just follow her presentations and study quizzes.
Prof. Lynch definitely knows her stuff and it shows! She posts the PowerPoints online before class with some missing words so you can follow along. We had a quiz to take on Canvas before class each week and had one paper. The only hard part about her class is she words questions a little weird making them seem harder than they really are.
Must attend class to pass. Plenty of points to make up if you do bad on the exams. Willing to help if you ask.
Discussion posts following readings OR field posts. One large research project REVIEW paper. Has real-world experience, helps in lecture. Very good at clarifying material. Quizzes over each chapter from textbook. Very enjoyable class; took 4-hour evening class and had no problem. Exams are MC and short answer. In-class group work for participation.
Professor Lynch is super sweet and so helpful. If you're confused on anything, she will take the time to help you so you understand it. She's also really understanding if you have to skip class for something but I wouldn't recommend skipping, she covers a lot in one day and there are usually in class assignments. I would take her again for sure.
Professor Lynch is okay. She was nice for the most part but got a little sassy sometimes. Lectures are long, a lot of group work, and tests aren't that bad. Although you don't use the book in class, I found it good to use to study out of before a test.
Very clear and nice teacher, understands and enjoys what shes teaching however she assigns lots of group class activities which can get to be tedious and time consuming.
Really recommend taking her class
She does not have study guides, however she has online quizzes that aren't for points but are used for studying
Very interesting class. Quizzes are frequent, but untimed and open book. They are great study material for the exam. Go to class, take notes, and study your quizzes and you should have no problem getting an A.
Class attendance isn't mandatory but there are many in class activities that you can't make up and they make up a lot of points. Tests are hard, just look over in class activities. Look up the quizzes in the book, DO NOT GOOGLE THEM. 6 hours of observation on kids are required.
I wasn't a fan of her teaching style or how she wanted things done. She would give students zero's on papers for not citing APA correctly. As a student I would think the professor would put forth the same effort to make sure her students learned the material. I would advise finding a different professor for psychology classes.
A lot of group work in class. Quizzes online, but if you're stuck you can find the answers online!
Dr. Lynch is great. I took her 6-10pm lecture and it was not difficult to sit through. Many in class activities to boost your grade. She is a tough grader. 2 tests plus the final exam, 1 article critique and a discussion post every other week. Definitely don't skip class or you'll miss out on easy points, also a very informative lecture.
Overall, a very interesting class! Lynch was a very kind person and she was clear about what her expectations were for the class. Points were given for in-class group work, 2 papers, and 3 exams. The material was presented in a fun way and wasnt overly challenging. Would highly recommend this class!
Dr. Lynch looks like Tina Fey in Mean Girls, so that was definitely a plus. All of our quizzes were online. If you look over the quizzes and pay attention most of the time in class, you will do fine on the tests. There are in-class assignments each class and they are usually done with groups. Do not buy the textbook!
Shes sweet but her teaching just doesnt stick with you.
Dr. Lynch was such a gem, she's one of the reasons that I changed my major to Psychology. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you show up, you will be rewarded with easy points from a group activity each class. 3 exams, one article critique, and an easy quiz or discussion every week. I thoroughly enjoyed Julie's lectures.
I really liked Dr. Lynch! She was a good professor, and her lectures did not feel like 2 hours long. She was interesting, and I liked how she had little activities or videos we would do or watch during lecture, which would break it up and not feel like it was as long.
Dr. Lynch knows what she is talking about. She is a genuinely great and respected professor. She has a sense of humor and knows not only the educational side of child development but also the mom side as she typically brings experiences with her children into lecture. I learned so much from this class and hope I can take her again!
Dr. Lynch was an OK professor. Her lectures along with her group projects were interesting and made class easy to look forward to. She will not let you have your phone out or she will personally e-mail you and yell at you. Buying the book is helpful for the online quizzes, but not much else. Her exams were difficult but her class can be passed.
Dr. Lynch is a decently fair professor. I had her for both 315 and 317, and neither class was terribly hard. She's pretty clear about what she wants, but NEVER gives 100% on papers or the essay portions of tests. I got A-'s both classes, and I hardly studied for the exams. Did not use the textbook in either class.
Lynch is an average professor. She reads off power points and does in class activities for points which is why you must attend. The exams are mostly off of the online quizzes. The class isn't that difficult, easy to get an A or high B. In her syllabus, it says she will round up if your grade is close, but don't count on it because she won't.
This is my second time taking Dr. Lynch. All of her quizzes are on Canvas and you can use the textbook to help you. Her tests are based off of the quizzes so make sure to review them before a test. You have one individual or group project to choose to work on during the semester, which is fairly easy as long as you put in the effort. Great class.
Not a bad professor. She uses powerpoints for her lectures. There quizzes for every chapter on canvas, and the test questions are based off these quizzes. There are in-class questions every class, & the written portion of the exams are based off of these. You need to put a bit of effort into online discussions and replies (it's a little tedious).
Awesome professor, explained the lectures thoroughly. Ended up being my favorite class that semester. Make sure you show up for class though because participation is important
I loved Proffesor Lynch! In this course I feel like I learned by far the most I have ever learned to prepare me to be a teacher! Dr. Lynch is very responsive to emails, and is willing to work with you. The tests directly correspond with the In Class actvities and the online quizzes. Be sure to put all of your due dates in your calendar!
Professor Lynch is a good professor who really cares about the material and her students. Lecture notes are available on Canvas which is helpful. The tests are part multiple choice and part essay but she gives you all the information you need to study for so they aren't terrible. Attendance is not required, but necessary to receive points.
Do not take her, marks you down for the most insignificant things. Lectures most class and then leaves the last portion of class to do "group work." Since this is during COVID she made us do it over Teams and it was hard to communicate with the groups. This isn't her fault but just cut out group work entirely during a pandemic. Also rude over email
Professor Lynch is super sweet and actually cares about your education. There are quizzes every week but the content is exactly what you learn in class so they're fairly easy if you study, use quizlet!
Dr. Lynch cares so deeply about this course and has a lot of knowledge and experience. She is EXTREMELY NIT PICKY and expects a lot of effort throughout the course. Discussion posts are more like essays, exams are timed, and essays require lots of depth and book citations in order to receive a decent grade. Worked my butt off for an A-
Professor Lynch will expect a lot out of you. If you aren't willing to go to class and spend extra time studying, you don't pass. You may understand the concepts enough to pass the multiple choice portions of the exam, but the written parts are what she grades harshly. You will learn a lot, but it takes extra work to succeed.
Professor truly cares about students and helping them understand and retain material. Various grading methods are used (quizzes, exams, papers, etc). Lectures are fun and interesting, and tests are pretty easy if you study!
Dr. Lynch is amazing. Her class is pretty difficult, but if you take the time to do the outside work you will be just fine. Dr. Lynch is very caring, and gives quite a few in-class assignments so make sure you attend as much as possible. Exams are not too difficult, only 3 throughout the semester. Weekly quizzes help the grade as well!
Class is difficult unless you go to class and study a lot. 3 exams and they are difficult unless you work hard and really study for them. Gives in class assignments so be there as much as possible. Weekly quizzes which are pretty easy and will help your grade. She has clear grading expectations so if you follow those you will do well.
Ok professor. Not the greatest. Likes to criticize your work heavily. Textbook is used only for online quizzes and that's about it. Tests can be very confusing.
She is a very nice lady and super understanding. The class was not very difficult- just 3 tests and a paper. Go to her lectures & take notes and you'll be good! I would recommend her for sure!
Lynch is ok. Class is lecture heavy but interesting. Exams are tough. 1 group project at the end of the semester. Learn APA citations ahead of time. She isn't very helpful in that regard and has you take a plagiarism quiz but don't go over it further. Never been accused of plagiarism before her. She does allow redos for accidental plagiarism.
Julie is a nice and genuine woman who is passionate about psychology. I enjoyed her class as a education major. The class is made up of weekly quizzes, 3 tests, 3 papers and in class assignment. Make sure to study quizzes and notes for tests. Come to Lecture. Put in good effort on writing assignments and you will be fine!
Lynch knows her stuff. She's very passionate and loves when students get a concept. Her quizzes are easy and online. Her tests are difficult, but if you show up to class, do the group activities and take good notes they're easy. No study guide. Office hours are open too. She really wants you to understand the subject. Would take again.
Professor Lynch is super nice. However, she expects very high quality work. I got points off of a lot of things and I don't really know why. Tests are hard so you need to study, but if you look over the in class activities and quizzes that will help. Lectures are very long and difficult to pay attention.
Professor Lynch is very passionate about what she teaches. The class has a heavy workload, and the exams can be challenging but study and you will be fine. Very nice and willing to work with you outside of class.
Lectures are long (3+ hours) and cover very little of the actual needed material for assignments. Assignments are unnecessarily long with very little actual direction. She is a nice person, very passionate, but not a great educator.
UGHHH! All she does is lecture for four hours and write assignments about material she NEVER covers.
Not understanding at all.
Dr. Lynch clearly cares about what she teaches. Her lectures can be long, but manageable. She is always respectful to the students, and will accommodate them pretty well. Her grading on papers can be confusing, but she will always explain what she thinks, even if she doesn't change her mind. If you need to take a psyc course, take it with her.
Professor Lynch runs a challenging yet rewarding class. Lectures are dense, but engaging if you stay focused. Assignments require effort, but using resources like Unstuck AI can really help with study prep. Worth taking if you're willing to put in the work.
Buckle up for this class! You need to focus on the lectures; she does not post the whole lecture on Canvas, and does not post the completed ones after class. You will need to show up, or you won't do well. If you try to raise your hand, prepare to be missed and not called on. Very few assignments; little assignments, big reflections, and big tests!
-she lectured us heavy that learning styles are NOT real but lectured her other class that they were. -Very lecture heavy, does not provide study guides and the test are hard - you are allowed to use notes on test however its often not even helpful. your bestfriend will be quizlet and goodluck!
She did not belive in learning styles and would tell us that we have to prove to her that they are a tthing . That class was very lecture heavy and she would talk about one slide for way too long . The test were really hard she would let you use your notes on the test but I did not find them helpful at all . dio not take if there is other people
