JULIE WAS VERY SWEET AND HELPFUL TO ME IN ENGLISH. SHE WAS A VERY GOOD TEACHER. I WOULD TAKE HER CLASS AGAIN ANYTIME.

A writing class is what I took with Julie and I was really glad that I did. She puts a lot of work into her classes and expects the students to do the same, which is good and means that students learn. She is eager and open to debate and concerns as well.

she is soo nice and she helps out alot i definetly am writing a much better essay and am totally ready for eng 102

She's the "cool" teacher.. very friendly and casual.. funny.. but strict when it comes to work and handing things in on time, so make sure you never slack..

I've been going to CCP now for almost two years, and she's still the best teacher at CCP. She's fair, understanding, and in all loves to teach people who wants to learn.

Ms. O'Dell is a great English teacher. She does't play when it comes to attendence, classwork and homework. She's very knowledgeable and what you put into her class is what you get in return. I learned alot and thats why I'm taking her again.

Good english teacher. If you want to learn how to write an essay, she will be there every step of the way. I would take her for eng 102 but she isn't teaching this summer.

she was a very helpful teacher. i probably would have an a for her class if i did not mess up at the begininng of the semester. I still got an A on my research paper. She guides you how to construct an essay paper. remember do not plagerize in any form. She will fail you. it happened to a student in our class. overall great englsih teacher.

Im gonna keep it simple. She is wonderful, loves her job, teaches perfectly, and cares about writing. She took me, someone who was afraid to write, to be more confident in my writing. I tried my best and she made it even better. I cant wait to take her for both 101 and 102.

Julie is an awesome teacher, she is strict but very caring. She is understanding and if you are having a problem just talk to her. I did get burned out at the end of the semester for all the essay writing, but I know it is all to prepare me for 102. She helped me a lot, so if you are looking for a great teacher this might be her

Julie is a tough teacher, but she is very understanding. When I first took the class I was so overwhelmed. You have to stick with it, she is a good teacher and I know I will do great in 102. She maybe tough but I liked her class and would not want anyone else for 101..

It was humiliating to sit through ProfessorJulie's class. Her conduct was inexcusable. I hope the student continues to write wonderful stories. Professor Julie showed no tact, and she has no class.

Julie was great. I love Fiction Writing and she provided excellent feedback on the stories that helped make some great revisions. She kept class interesting and engaging. She wasn't afraid to express her views but she encouraged students to express theirs as well. If you did the work on time, I can't see how you'd have any problem with her.

Excellent teacher, if you keep up with the work. The flow of learning it seems so easy when she teach. Love her!!!!!

It was an okay class. She is strict about attendance and all classwork/homework. There was a lot of writing..had to write 5 to 6 essays. She is a hard grader but very helpful if you need help. If you are good at writing essays, take her. If not, look for an easy teacher. She is hard to please, you will have to very work hard.

I loved this class. The book was great, the teacher was greatand the syllabus layed out everything in a way that was easy to understand and keep track of.

Julie definitely helped define my writing by teaching the basics and progressing. I have not ben in a classroom since '87 and she made my jump back into classwork smooth. During summer 2 I had taken a Sociology class that was writing intensified and received an A. I just saw one seat avail. in her 101 and took it right away.

The bottom line is do your work, pay attention, participate, and get an A. Clear expectations are explained on day one, so there's no excuses not to get an A. If you need help than she's there to guide you. People please use your resources and build relationships with your professor if you want to succeed. She's the one to help you.

Phenomenal professor. Very intelligent and well-versed in whatever it is that she may be teaching. She is friendly, polite, and always so eager to help students in and out of class. She will, however, punish lateness and absence from class, which I respect. She has an incredible amount of integrity, and is a great person. She is my idol!!

Julie Odell is a great teacher. If you need help in English and you want a better understanding of it, I suggest you take her class. I wish there were more professors as passionate about teaching as she is ! Advice: keep up with the readings, no eating, stay off of your phone and NO plagiarisms YOU WILL FAIL.

Had Julie this semester for my Comp 101 class, and was glad I did. Her class won't be easy, but if you keep up on the reading and turn in the assignments on time, and PARTICIPATE IN CLASS A LITTLE BIT, you should be just fine. You can tell she loves what she does, and that rules. Excellent teacher. Also, put your phones away people, this is college

Best teacher ever, she makes reading and learning fun. Very engaging, and cares about her job and students; you can really tell. Excellent adviser and is super fair about her grading. You know what she wants and how she expects it. She goes over the material and drill it in your head; which is a good thing. Easy A if you just pay attention.

Amazing!! Pay attention and you will be fine. She explains in details everything she wants from her students. Do not Plagiarize !!! need help ask for it answers emails right away. gives easy reads so it wont be that hard if you are not a big reader

Julie Odell is an amazing teacher who is super duper passionate about her work and CCP. She is knit picky on papers but it is only to make you a better writer. I can literally sit down and tell you that I learned a lot in this class. I learned more than english writing skills , I learned politics and history. She is very clear about things.

This teacher really takes her students and her work as a big aspect of her life. She assigns work according to what we need to know and learn to become successful in the English field. One of my best teachers thus far. I love her enthusiasm it makes you proud to be in her class. She gives awesome feedback and i would take her class again

The research paper course is incredibly difficult for most students but she makes is as easy as she can by breaking it up into manageable chunks. Class time with her is fun and engaging but be sure not to arrive late. The one thing to be especially careful of with her is plagiarism but she will be very up front about how serious she is about it.

Great teacher! Very engaging class. Makes you think about your own opinions. Julie makes anything interesting! She gives very good feedback, and she is easy to talk to. She also shows great examples of what she wants, and what she doesn't. Quick grader. Overall fabulous professor :-) I can't wait to take her 102.

This class was awesome enough that I put a lot of effort into having her again next semester for 102. She can tell when you actually care about what you're doing, so just make a conscious effort to be present mentally and physically.

Ms Julie is a passionate and amazing teacher. Sometimes she may be a bit too nice. Do your work, if you don't understand she will explain thoroughly. She hates failing, so if you ever fail her, it is because you didn't put forth any effort.

JULIE is amazing. i had a horrible professor for 098/099 and felt really dumb even tho i passed the class. when i came to julie 101/108 class, i was nervous bc i really suck in english. she made me feel great. gives great feedback and most essays are started in class so you have time to get extra help if needed. im going to take her for eng 102.

She truly cares about the wellbeing on a personal and educational level of each student. She gives you time to redo all essays for better grades. She's a hard grader but helps every step. Took for 101 and102. She's passionate about life and respects all opinions

I took the 7 week course with Professor Odell. Since it was an accelerated course, I was afraid that I cannot catch up. But Professor Odell makes the course super fun and enjoyable. You have to write six essays in this class, but the professor explained clearly what she wanted in the essays. As long as you follow her instructions, you will do fine.

Took julie for 101 and 102. Clear on expectations and makes her own book so you dont have to buy one. Caring outside class. Would take over and over again

I'm so grateful I took Mrs. Odell for English 101/108 she an amazing proffessor and care for her students. Just prepare for a lot of reading and essays. I will be taking her again for English 102. Also, she dpesn't like when people be absent or late other than that she a sweet heart.

I like her, some might say she's difficult but that's because she is honest and she is teaching us we are not in highschool anymore and preparing us for harder classes.

Amazing professor. The best! She is upbeat, funny, realistic and really has a passion. She has an effective sequence supporting her method of teaching. I learned so much in her class. A great professor is able to take difficult information and break it down into the simplest terms. I had her for Eng 101 & 102 She makes me wish there was a 103 lol

Julie is a great professor. She uses interesting material and encourages students to gain perspective through her readings. She allows you to revise your papers after handing in for a better grade. If you do not get an A in this class, it is your fault. She also offered office hours just to listen when I had some mid-semester anxiety. So kind.

She was a great instructor only way you wont pass is if you dont follow her lead

I had Julie Odell for an accelerated summer class online. I thought she was a great professor and gave you more than enough chances to receive an A. She really cares about her students and gives good feedback. I thought all the topics she had us write about were very interesting too which made the class easy for me.

Professor Odell has probably been one of the best professors Ive had so far at CCP. She is beyond accessible, personable, and reasonable with her students. She is a tough grader but will provide you with quality feedback to excel. No textbook required for 102. She does weekly videos which are super helpful as well. Definitely a grade A educator.

By far one of favorite professors. She gives you more than enough time to do the assignments, and she gives feedback every time. Class time is very interactive and she encourages you to ask questions.

Professor Odell is a great English professor. She's challenged me and made me a better academic writer, 100%. She grades fairly, in my opinion, given that instructions and checklists (provided on every assignment) are extremely detailed. She allows revisions of major essays. Not the easiest of A's, but an excellent and worthwhile experience.
