This class is definitely an easy A and her enthusiasm makes it pretty interesting. You have to do several presentations and write one page chapter summaries. Attendance counts so you do have to show up but overall I would highly recommend taking her class.

Wow, she is an extreme environmentalist. Incredibly enthusiastic but a bit too much for me. The class work is easy but you do have to go to every class (they take attendance daily in this dept). A lot of group work and 3 presentations. I recommend taking this class with lots of friends. So you can all work together and dont end up with flakes

The class was pretty easy. There were lots of homeworks and groupworks, but they were all easy. Better to take this class with friends so that you wouldn't have to spend time on finding good teammates.

I am extremely happy I took this class, Julie is an extremely nice person, one of the easiest and best graders and is VERY friendly and kind. It was one of the easiest and most chill classes I've ever taken, and was pretty disappointed it ended. Extremely recommended! It's a MUST take class for yourself!

Julie is smart and caring. We need more ppl like her in the world. However her class wasn't structured or challenging. Students just regurgitated what they thought she wanted to hear and she seemed happy with it. I guess the minimal effort needed to do well made the class attractive, but I don’t think students got a lot out of it besides an easy A.

Julie is passionate about the environment, not your normal college class, you learn as much as you put into the class, and from her lectures, videos, and stories. I would recommend taking it with some friends.

Julie is a beautiful person. She has a wonderful soul. She really knows her work and lives it. I am so glad I took this class because I have a completely different view of Nature & wildlife. It is a very easy class but you learn as well about saving our planet, our home. Take her class, one of the best classes you'll ever take. Again, easy too!

NICEST, FRIENDLIEST, KIND HEARTED PROFESSOR EVER!!!! You can tell she has a passion for her work and the class, she always comes prepared and is ready to teach! The sad part is that mostly everyone was on their iPhones and she would yell at some people... I found that some students took the class too seriously esp their presentations.

I really enjoyed Julies class. I thought she was funny and had a lot of adult humor that the younger students don't catch. It is a GE and Major course with mixed students. You do a lot of group work so choose a table with students that you feel will do there part, not be flaky and confrontational. Keep up with weekly textbook work and your gold.

I took this class to fulfill my GE requirements but I ended up choosing it as one of my double majors! She really makes you love the subject as much as she does and you can learn a lot although it's an easy A. However, that said, it seemed almost TOO easy to pass.

I really wanted to enjoy this class -unfortunately, the online version was very confusing to the point I had to drop. The lecture, weekly sheet, and syllabus all have conflicting info, so it was unclear what needed to be handed in. Julie responded to one of my emails before the quarter, but never replied to any after that. Don't take this online!

Don't listen to the previous rater; Julie is still getting the hang of the new way the online classes are run, clarified everything in an FAQ, and now has a TA to help keep her organised. She's very passionate about her research and is VERY helpful and nice in providing feedback on all assignments! Class is SUPER easy. Take it, you won't regret it!

Grade depends on participation, binder check, a few group presentations, team activities, and notes on chapter readings. Very easy A, super nice/passionate teacher, but I feel like most activities are just busy work. Teamwork is highly emphasized, which I liked.

Professor Julie is an amazing professor and externally passionate about teaching. Her class is interesting and you actually learn a lot of things. Her class is easy going with less homework. You do not have to buy the book since a center in the building lets you borrow one and book are used rarely.
