She's very nice and helpful....and not bad to look at either.
im in her econ2620-microeconomics class this semester and i love her. shes very helpful and the exams are taken straight from the notes she gives in class. if you attend class, pay attention, and take notes you will do fine. she is a great professor!
She was really nice and very easy going, if you tried in the class then she will give you the benifit of the doubt and if you listen in class then you shouldn't have a problem with the tests because they come straight out of the lectures. She also writes everything down for you. I reccomend this teacher to anyone :]
she is honestly such an awesome teacher. she does have a lot of notes to write down, but they are so helpful in the class. I will highlyy recommend her to anyone who wants to take any economics course. And shes also real hott, although she denies it all the time
She is a wonderful teacher. Extremly helpful and always very clear with the subject. Her tests are pretty easy, just study your notes. She is fun for not such a fun subject.
She is an awesome professor! Everything on her tests comes straight from the notes. I never opened my book once. She is very helpful and will go the extra mile to help you understnad something. I would DEF reccomend her. She was great!
One of the best professors I've had in college. She definitely goes the extra mile to make sure you understand the material. Study for the exams (straight from your notes) and you'll do great!
The best teacher at OCC!!! I had Macro and Micro with this professor. She Has a great positive attitude to students and ready to help. Always well prepares to teach and tries to explain the material in an easier way.Beautiful and very charming woman. I wish I had to take more classes with her.
Awesome teacher. Very understanding !
Great person. However if you like to refer to the book, then you may have a problem. She teaches straight from her notes. Other than this, very polite, easy to get along with, and tries to make class fun.
Prof Seiler is one of the very best at OCC. She makes a difficult subject accessible to everyone. Her lectures are very clear, and she is very kind and helpful. She knows the material well. I didn't buy the book. Tests are from the notes she writes on the board. I learned a lot in her class.
Professor Seiler is straight to the point, doesn't BS around. Very helpful, will take time if you don't get something.
Extremely helpful
great teacher. gives detailed notes, and tells you exactly what you need to know.
She is the best teacher out there. Highly Recommended!!!
she is a great professor. her tests and homework are easy if you study and she even gives you practice tests. extremely nice and helpful. i recommend her highly
She is absolutely the best!! Take good notes, do the homework and study and you'll ace the class. She explains things in a way that anyone can understand and is willing to help anyone who needs it. Go to the SI study group and you'll do great! You don't really need the book. Unless you already know Econ, missing a class is not an option.
She is an amazing teacher! Do not buy the book, you don't use it. You do write a lot of notes but they are extremely helpful for the homework and the exams. She is always wiling to help so don't be afraid to ask. She writes all of her notes on the board so it is very easy to follow. Take notes, study and you'll do just fine.
She is AMAZING. I Love her! I took her for MICRO and MACRO. Take good notes, do your homework, and study for the exams. I recommend doing the practice exams they are similar. Also study the homework. She always has SI's so if you need extra help they will help you. You are capable of getting an A if you try. It is not an easy A. You have to try.
Great teacher. No book use, all lecture. She keeps the class interesting and real world oriented. She may offend you a bit if youre a Republican.
Professor Seiler is a great teacher. I never thought that Micro would interest me, but she made it happen. DO NOT buy the book. Big waste of money. Grades depend on hw and exams. She is hard, but if you take thorough notes and study them, you'll be fine.
She is a very nice teacher. Makes the class a lot of fun and yet students learn a lot. I definately recommend her and I am planning on taking the next Econ class with her this fall :)
she is so pretty... and super nice ... ^_^ she give a lot notes and you dont have to buy the book.. she doesnt take attendance... but if you go every class.. you will get an A... )
Awesome teacher. I would take a class from her again. My only complaint is that she she is very liberal.
She is a great teacher! She explaines everything really good and answeres every question. Also she is really funny and even economics, which is usually kind of boring, becomes interesting in an entertaining way with her. If you want to take an economics class, take her's!! She's the best!!
I took her for Macro Econ and she was amazing! I was never interested in the subject so i was hesitant to take the class. The work was a little difficult but if you talked to her and asked for help she was happy to explain. If you attend the class she will be more willing to help you out if you don't understand something. Great class.
she is a very goood teacher and will help if u need help, but if your not good in econ..i would wait. i was struggling most of the time, not the math part just paying attention through the difficult stuff. okay class & lots of noteS!!
Loved her! Great teacher, taking her next semester. Only thing, she confuses you on the shifting of curves. I would recommend reviewing that on your own. Your notes are the book, but you can get the book. If you have a student that ask a lot of questions, she will answer but the information might not benefit you. She really tries for her students.
Cool Prof.
She is a very nice teacher .She tries to help those who don't understand. Take a lot of notes. This is a class to where u have to study hard if economics isn't interesting to you.
I took her class for both Macro and Micro she is a great teacher but her tests are hard and you are only graded on three tests, make sure you keep up with the material and study like crazy her tests seem to be worded to be very difficult. She is very helpful and her class is enjoyable she really cares about each student.
She's very nice and really wants her students to succeed. If you attend class every time and study your notes, you will definitely find this class fairly easy. And do not buy the textbook, she never uses it. The notes she gives in class is ALL you need.
She is a GREAT teacher! TAKE HER! I took her for both econ classes. She knows her stuff! Take good notes - you'll use them for homework and to study for exams. If you do NOT like taking notes do NOT take her. You take a lot but it is all you need to succeed in this course. She has very neat handwriting and writes all the notes on the board. -kc
By far one of the best teachers i have ever had at any point in my life. not only does she teach great, she's also a really really nice person, looking to help out her students, in anyway she can. i loved her so much, that i will probably SI-ing with her in the fall. Also, she's super hot! :D
One of the best college profs i have had. she is amazing and loves teaching and will help you in anyway. tests are slightly difficult but with minimal studying you can recieve an a if you attend class. couldnt expect more, she was over all the best. do not need the book unless you like references.
She is an extremely sweet lady who just wants everyone to do well. Just attend class and do the homework and you will be fine for her tests. I would only recommend her for any econ class at OCC.
She is very, very nice. Come to class, take notes, and the weekly quizzes on D2L, and you'll do just fine on the test. She is the best teacher I had, take her she is awesome and very helpful I'm definitely taking her for Econ2620
She is very nice person and very helpful professor. she makes the material for this class very easy to grasp. weekly assignments are very important, attendance as well. her quizzes are comprehensive so its very important to keep up with everything and not to skip sections. I highly recommend her for any Economics classes.
NO BOOK NEEDED She writes every note worth taking on the board. quizzes/exams from notes. She is very engaging/wants her class to participate. Most down to earth and understanding professor I have had. I was very sick and she actually gave me an Incomplete and I was able to finish the class 1 year later. I will not take econ with any other teacher
Julie Seiler is not only one of the best professors I have had, she is also a kind person. She truly cares about you, on an academic level, but also on a personal one. Her exams are difficult, but she gives you all the tools you need to succeed in her course. She is a beautiful woman, inside and out. She has helped me in more ways than one :)
Great teacher.. doesn't teach from the book so you don't have to buy a book. Take all her notes from the board. Study from it for the exams and you will do good. Attendance is recommended because you can't miss her notes. Nice and easy going teacher.
Great teacher. Tests were easy IF you showed up for class. Go to class, take notes, and you will easily pass this class. No textbook required, she writes all her notes on the board and as long as you write down all she writes down you will be prepared for each test.
Great teacher to take! Would recommend anybody to take her. Very clear on every subject talked about in class. She doesn't care if you show up for class or not, but it will effect how you do on her test. I would take her class again!
Great professor. No need to buy the book unless you would like to reference back. Gives all her notes on the board in detail. Quizzes are the same as the homework. So if you do the homework then you will do good on the quizzes. Also, quizzes are online. Exams are easy but you do have to study! GREAT professor. Highly recommended.
Not all nice people are good teachers, but J.Seiler is an exception. She's an excellent teacher who cares about individual students, strives to relate concepts and is very easy-going. Wouldn't recommend any other econ prof. Also she has good SIs for her classes.
Prof. Seiler is great! Econ can be a dangerously boring subject in the wrong hands, but she's very entertaining and explains everything in depth. Pace of the class is perfect, and you won't need the textbook.
This class had me on the fence all year. I suppose if you show up to class and do the work you can pass but I thought the tests were extremely difficult and hardly passed the class.
She's a great professor, very nice and helpful , the material can be a bit tough especially the test. Studying for this class is huge. I would recommend this teacher for econ
Excellent professor. Glad I had her
She was an awesome teacher i would recommend her to anyone, she will work with you and make sure you understand the material. Took her for both econ reqs.
Best Econ professor I've ever had at OCC. She doesn't provide online notes, but you learn it way better by hand taking notes in her class. She goes step by step and explains everything. Very nice, funny, and helpful. 2 exams + 1 final. Online homeworks weekly very easy. If you come to class you will do fine. She makes it applicable to real life.
Extremely helpful and a great person. She really wants her students to do well, and gives every student the tools to succeed. It's up to the student to use those tools. I love writing notes as opposed to just watching a powerpoint presentation. Keeps you more alert and interested.
Great teacher. Took this class because I was interested in econ. Makes boring econ easy to understand. Pay attention n copy all her work on the board. If u miss a day, U miss her boardwk. Go to study sessions for all test, midterm, n final to get a good great. Ask questions if u don't understand. Make sure u have scantron test papers for test.
I loved the teacher so much I became her SI. aced all the tests
Prof. Seiler is the epitome of what a teacher ought to be. She actually teaches! Its refreshing after having some other teachers this semester who stare at you the whole three hours and then send you home to teach yourself--what? Econ is a hard subject, but if you apply yourself, go to study sessions and do the hw, you will pass with flying colors
Great teacher and lectures are helpful for an online environment. I would definitely take again!
Professor Seiler is the best! She always stops to make sure she answers everyone's questions before moving on to the next topic during lecture. Econ can be hard to understand sometimes but Seiler does a great job of explaining everything. I would recommend her!!
She was a very good teacher but she always get off subject during lectures which made them very long and the way she explains the material wasn't very clear. She does grade hard for the exams. Take advantage of the SI's.
This is who other educators should look to for guidance. You will leave her class with more than just a letter grade, you'll actually leave with knowledge that's helpful in the real world! She actually cares about her students future. Would take her class for no credit at all. Can't say enough, she's just awesome!
I really enjoyed this class and Dr. Seiler, but it wasn't easy. There are three exams and the final exam is cumulative so make note cards and take REALLY good notes. Textbook not needed! Also, take advantage of the SI sessions and review sessions. Every week there is a "quiz" but the quiz is EXACTLY the homework. So do your homework.
I felt her lectures were easy to tie to every day life and therefore a little easier to remember. Gotta do the homework. She is available to answer questions and encourages participation. Darmini was awesome too. I had a lot going on personally and she helped out a lot.
I love Seiler!!! She is very approachable and welcoming. You have quizzes every week, pay attention and you will do okay. She loves questions and knows what she is talking about. Lectures are boring sometimes but she has a lot to teach. Get to know her and she will love you! You will do better if you get the book. One of the best I ever had at occ.
A great teacher! If you go to class & take notes, you should be able to get by w/o the textbook. She has a way of teaching econ that makes it easy to understand. Online quiz every week, in-class assignments, 2 writing assignments, a mid-term and final exam are given. Also gives extra credit. Definitely would take her again.
BEST TEACHER EVER!!! She has great lectures and tells great jokes. I would absolutely take her again.
Had her for ECO 2620 & 2610 and glad I chose her both times. Course setup was straightforward: Lecture w/ WS at end HW Quizzes Exams WS are easy 2pt ea if you pay attention during class and help w/ HW HW -- weekly D2L quizzes There are 11 quizzes (2 drop), 3 exams, & a short written assignment She offers 10 points EC max Easy A/A- for me
Textbook is not really mandatory unless you miss a class. Her lectures are really helpful; her style of writing notes on the board is very conducive for taking notes. Grade is composed of in-class work, homework, and tests. A lot of the grade is based on tests. I found the tests easy, but a lot of people found them hard. Amazing professor!
This professor is amazing! I had Econ with her and I really understood the material.
Professor Seiler is a very very smart woman, but that doesn't mean she can teach. Her lessons are just too long and she repeats herself a lot. When it comes to grading she is very hard. And she can get pretty mean at times. She won't really help you if you have a low grade. TESTS are very HARD, especially if she isn't very good at teaching.
I showed up to class every week, never cracked the book and got an A. the lectures are boring, and she gets distracted and lets students talk about unrelated crap for a solid half hour at a time sometimes more than once per class. you could condense the useful material to about 20 minutes per class.
One of the best professors I have ever had. Exactly how a college class should be run.
Best teacher I've ever had at OCC, if you need to take economics, take her class. She's very nice and let me come in twice a week and helped me with homework and quizzes. If you go to class and take notes you will have no problem in this class.
The best there is. I have not had a teacher that comes close to her. Come on people, if you are willing to learn she offers you valuable information. Her passion is visible and if you ask her a question she's willing to explain with as much detail as you need. Just brilliant, 4.6 doesn't do her justice.
Prof Seiler is one of the best teachers I have had here at occ. She takes her time with her lectures and makes sure you know what is going on at all times. There are 3 tests including the final and they all are easy if you take notes on her lectures. She so nice and funny and UNDERSTANDING. There was never homework and the quizzes are online.
She is one of the BEST professors at OCC!!! She handwrites notes which makes it easy for you to take notes & follow along. She is so caring & truly wants her students to succeed. There are 2 exams, but she provides past exams to help you study for them. There are quizzes on D2L, but you can go to SI groups to ensure you do well & understand them.
she is the nicest teacher I've ever met. she very easy person to talk to. understanding, caring, she wants you to learn, econ is the one of the easiest classes I will take
Great Professor. So nice and down to earth. Will make time to help you. She offers extra credit and even free coffee! Will take her ECO 2 Class. If you try you'll do just fine.
By far the best Econ teacher I've ever had. Extremely nice and will help you outside of class if needed
Dr. Seiler presents the dry subject very well and goes with the flow of the class. Rolls with questions even if they derail the class a bit but adjusts exams according to what was covered. Multiple choice exams make it easier for some, like myself, but not everyone. Be ready to study and utilize study groups. Do the HmWork & study you will do fine.
She is an amazing Professor. She gives detailed notes and explains well. Very approachable and understanding. Also, passionate about teaching. Her SI -Tharmini is extremely helpful as well. She has exam reviews before every exam and makes amazing handouts using Professors notes! I would recommend looking for the sessions with this SI and Seiler.
One of the worst Professors I had. I'll never take her again.
You'll need to put in alot of work just to pass. My advice don't take her. Her test are hard.
Overall the worse professor I've every had. She loves Econ but she cant teach it very well. Her test are hard even if you studied.
Dr. Seiler is the best teacher at OCC. She treats you like a peer, and creates a great classroom environment. Don't bother buying any sort of textbook, as her lectures give you all the material you need. Plus, she doesn't use Connect anymore so no need to buy an access code either. Tests are like 80% of the overall grade so study. They're not hard
One of the easiest A's I've ever earned. Just pay attention in class and write everything she puts on the board. Then just go over the problems on the practice exam the night before an exam; The problems on the practice exam are almost identical to the real exams. Prof. Seiler is very organized and managed to stay on schedule the entire semester.
She really cares about her students. Her notes are so good that I would recommend not getting the book. She gives you practice tests that have almost the same questions as on the real exams all multiple choice. I spent less than an hour a week doing homework and studying outside of class. I will definitely take my next economics class with her.
Dr. Seiler is an amazing professor. She is very caring and respects everyone. Her classes are mainly lectures which help a lot and are easy to understand. She also has some in class activities that always pertain to the notes. Practice exams available and are pretty much like the Exams. Also gives extra credit. Also has HW that is due online on D2L
She is amazing. The lectures are super clear and one of her SI group are helpful. I guess it was Caliy. Mrs. Seiler makes everything easy. she is a nice person, amazing teacher.
Regular quizes online, follow how she writes her notes on the board. She tests directly from her own notes so you don't really need the book. Very friendly and tries to make class fun and relatable. Final exam is accumulated but you can use the previous exams to study. One of my favorite teachers ever!
Dr. Seiler is a phenomenal professor. She takes time to get to know you personally and gives amazing lectures with plenty of practical examples. The exams aren't hard and are based on the lecture material; you can get extra credit if you need it. Dr. Seiler cares about her student and gives everyone a chance to earn an A. Take her! She is the best!
Professor Seiler's lessons in class are like a well oiled machine ready to engage you, help you understand the material and succeed with a great grade and thorough understanding of Macroeconomics in the scope of this class. Also, she is always available for questions and has an SI if you are interested.
If you are good at exams take her. There are three exams in total and they are worth about 60-70 percent of the class. Nice teacher but be prepared for the exams.
Professor Seiler was delightful. Her and her student teaching assistant made sure those that needed or wanted helped received it. If you dont receive an A/B in her class, it is truly on you.
Seiler is really caring and whats to help and her SIs are very helpful as well. However I dont know how reviews are so high the exams are so difficult barely made it before we went remote.
Very understanding of the difficulties that come with online learning. One of the best teachers at OCC. I found the class easy, but for the challenging quizzes and assignments plenty of help is offered to students that require it.
She's great!
Wonderful profesor. Zoom meeting mandatory if confused at any point she will explain it in different ways in order for you to understand. She would not move on unless she felt comfortable you understood the topic or question asked. She would be wonderful to take in a class setting. Truly cares about her students.
I had Prof Seiler for one semester in person and one semester online, she was fantastic in both. Her in-person course was the best I have taken during all my time at OCC. Some of the material is challenging but if you take notes and ask her for help over something you don't get you will do well on the exams and do well in the class.
Dr. Seiler feels like your favorite high school teacher. She is extremely accessible inside and outside of class. Her lectures are very note heavy, but as long as you follow along with her as she writes on the board youll be good. Weekly quizzes are really only there to make sure you understand. And if you dont, she will be happy to help.
Online class: quizzes every week. Practice exams provided. 3 exams (HonorLock used). She drops the 2 lowest quiz grades and will change one grade on 1 of your lowest scored exams if you do good on the final. Book not used at all and lecture is meh. You have to remember all the formulas for the exams as well! Easy class but terribly boring.
Very easy to tell that she is a well-liked and well-respected teacher. Explains things thoroughly in many ways and knows where students tend to slip up. Lectures can be dull at times due to subject matter. Prompts classroom interaction often. Clear lecture structure. Caring, easy to connect with.
I like this professor, organized, responsive and understanding! The only thing I disliked about this course is the "Honor lock" she wants us to use to help her verify you aren't cheating/using notes since her in-person students aren't allowed to use notes. information is simple..make sure to memorize math formulas for econ!
I had Prof. Seiler for one online and one in person course and she is great! The material isn't too difficult but it definitely isn't a blowoff course. I really enjoyed being in her class as she made the most boring lectures fun. As much as I don't like long lectures, hers weren't bad. She will respond to any issues you have with sympathy.
Principles of Macroeconomics was an accelerated course. I feel there was too much information crammed into a very short period of time. Exams are closed books, no notes and if you are an online student and taking the exam at home it is through HonorLock system. I don't think I would take this teacher again.
I love this professor very caring and she is a really great teacher! If you are struggling with anything she is the easiest teacher to talk, before class is the best time to ask for help. If you show up to every class and do the work you will pass the class just pay attention sit in the front and its a easy A make sure to study for Exams!
Julie is awesome! You can tell that she loves teaching and cares about her students. The class is pretty much all lectures and a couple of in-class activities but her lectures are not boring, her positive attitude makes them easy to listen to.
She is super accommodating and nice and helpful. I will definitely be taking her for ECO 2620 : )
Nice lady but not a good professor. She praises her in person classes but makes those taking it online feel bad. Be ready to watch an hour and a half YouTube lectures. Does not understand students have other classes/work and not all of our attention can go to her class. Assigns a lot. Exams are impossible. 1st exam in ECO 2620 class average was a D
Make sure to participate in class and you will do good on the exams. Her work isn't hard, just need to put effort in. Regarding the professor she is an amazing person. She will give you extra time on an assignment if you weren't able to turn it in on time, she is very understanding. I would take her again
She is amazing. Has a balance of taking the class seriously and making it fun, drawn to earth, and understands we have a life outside of class. Weekly quizzes but as long as you take the notes you should be fine. Make sure you attend class as she does not post the notes online. The exams are exactly what you take notes on.
This was my second time taking this class. First time I took it I had a bad professor so I felt nervous going to this class. This professor is amazing I understood everything in this class and I never felt lost learning the material. I 100% recommend this teacher for Econ. She is amazing and really cares about her students.
Professor Seiler makes this class engaging and manageable. Attend lectures, take notes, and use unstuck study - it's a great study aid. Exams are straightforward if you stay on top of the material. Recommend for any Econ students.
The course is loaded, however Professor Seiler does her best to keep you interested in the lectures. Lectures are mandatory and you have weekly quizzes due on Sunday. Study session available weekly. She cares about your grade, if you aren't doing well you can probably find her in her office throughout the week and she will help. Overall recommend.
I love Professor Seiler! I took ECO 2610 with her and am currently taking her ECO 2620 class. She makes the lectures very engaging, adequately prepares you for the exams, and returns assignments in a very timely manner. If you attend class, put in the effort, and try your best, you will do just fine in her class:) She is also down to talk anytime!
The best Econ teacher ever! She is super sweet and really does care about her students and the material. The course is well organized and she offer many different ways for you to reach out to her. Her SI nick is also very helpful! Her notes are great and she follows up with activities and quiz to help you as well.
Prof. is such a sweetheart. She is down to earth, organized, and she sets her students up to succeed not only in her class but college as a whole. She is very passionate about economics and finds ways to make lectures engaging and fun. I would definitely take another class with her!
She is the best Econ Professor ever! I took her class for my first semester at OCC and it was the best. She is super caring and will pay attention to every little question of yours. If I could, I would have her as my professor for all of my classes!
Although I got a C in her class, I really enjoyed her! She really cares about her students and teaching. She wants you to succeed.
