People that don't like Trager are ignorants, believe me!! I'v taken her twice, and she is one of the most interesting teacher's you'll ever have. Her classes are not easy though; she will kick you out if don't read the assignment... because it is our responsability as students to do so!!!!

She is a very knowledgable and intellectual professor. If you read the material, follow the directions, and participate in class, you won't be disappointed. If you want to actually learn, then it is recommended you take her classes. If you want to slack off, then save yourself and Trager's time.

I actually had to read my assignments, I even had to use my brain some, I took notes during lectures and even thought about what was being said. I even spoke up in class a couple times! i love this class. she can be very intimidating and sometimes a little too deep for me, but i love his class. im taking it right now, and it is the only class i like this year. the topics are very interesting. DO NOT take this class if u are stubborn and narrow minded YOU WILL FAIL. her tests are based almost solely on lectures. i didnt study one iota for the first exam and i got a B+, strictly from reading over my notes. the only thing i dont like is that she keeps us til the last possible moment

Julie, is one of those very opinionated teachers. if you want her help and feel that something is not right, she is open to any and all dialogues, just be prepared to explain and debate your reasons. i found her to be very enlightening and very intelligent, with that said if you are looking to be babysitted or use her class as filler, good luck!

Professor Trager treated us like COLLEGE STUDENTS and ADULTS. Those who did not fit in those categories had a difficult time in the class. Show some effort and initiave and you will get a 'B' in the class. Show a little more interest and effort and you will get an 'A' - like I did. :>)

She is a little full of herself, but in a good way. She is very smart, very open, so I don't know what that person was talking about. She knows her stuff. Will make you think about something for hours, and that's good.

She favors the students who do the assignments. People who have a problem with that should try doing some work. Her personality is a little hard to get used to but if you can answer discussion questions, she will grade your work very favorably.

Mrs. Trager is an awesome professor and she truly loves what she teaches. If one puts 100% effort she will give a 100% of her effort back. She enables her students to THINK out of the box and challenges one to actually LEARN!!!! Great class, highly recommended.

Trager, is one of those rare, caring, and dedicated instructors that a student may encounter only once during their academic career. Her approach is on an academic level that rivals your top-level four year institutions. The course load and material is difficult and challenging, something a serious student looks for. I highly recommended her.

BE READY TO READ! she will kick you out she kicked my friend out his class. she is nice but you just need to read the articles and books you get. first day of class there were 30+ people trying to get in. last day there were only about 40 students in the class.. you will present in front of the class and have research papers and essays GOOD LUCK

The woman is insane. But in a good way. She makes you dissect every film, story, etc. If you complain about her on this site, you must be a wimp. She teaches at a college university level. She's tough but really is accessible to her students. She seems intimidating but just go with the flow, read, and pay attention. She really is a good teacher.

He class is not difficult if u put in the work She expects college level work from all her students, & doesnt take bs from nowbody. U will leave her class with a new outlook on life, but be prepared to put in the work...lots of reading.

Ms.Trager is a passionate professor and that deep passion may come off harsh, but she means well. I admire her intelligence and spunky attitude. She means business when it comes to her lectures and grp projects.She is very critical but for good reason.Make sure you are always prepare to participate!! Test include inf from lectures and books.

She was right when she said you will need to work and if you don't like to work then you're better off leaving. You have to work but it's a really rewarding class, and it really pays off in the end. And I highly recommend talking to her after class if you don't understand something, she's extremely helpful. I took 2 of her classes.

This teacher is difficult. BUT she is by far the best teacher I've had so far while being here at Cerritos. She has a low rate because she pushes her students to do her very best so ya, it's a hard class, and she's a hard ass. If you want a real college professor, and not a high school teacher, then I recommend you take her at least ONCE.

It seems like a lot of the problems and annoyances Julie has been said to have mostly come from an unwillingness to want to do challenging work on the students' part. This course definitely is difficult and you will read quite a bit, but I promise you will walk away having gained much more knowledge than time and patience lost.

She is a great teacher. A little rough around the edges but very passionate about what she teaches. If you're there and do the work you'll pass the class. The only drawback is too many group assignments. I'm the type that doesn't like to depend on others for a grade. Overall she was a great professor!

Some will like her, some won't, but it takes hard work and dedication if you want to do well in her class. It's not a lot of work either. If you're complaining, it's obvious you're not even TRYING to make the best out of her class.

Truly one of the most enlightening classes I have ever taken. I'm a fairly shy person, and there were numerous occasions where I was made to feel quite uncomfortable, but only because the subject matter assigned was meant to push one out of their comfort zone, forcing you to critically analyze the perverse constructs of our own society.

It's a lot of difficult reading and she expects you to have analyzed the material before class. I consider myself to be a good reader and still struggled. I would suggest having English 100 or english 103 completed prior to this class. Ask for help! She loves her subject and wants you to understand it.

This class is based on mainly journals and class participation. Even Trager does seem to sometimes put ppl on blast I think she does it to help you out at the end of the day. We only had 1 exam which was the midterm and even if you did bad you still have a really good chance of passing the class. She's very understudying if you miss you class.

Definitely read everything, the only reason she ever gets upset is because people don't do their readinghw. Her lectures & assignments stick with you even after you've taken her class. Trager is a great teacher, with a lot to offer, but you have to put your work in. It is A Lot of reading and paper writing but it is all in a group with 1 solo paper. Show up on time, be respectful and participate. She does care about your opinion, I even debated with her in class, but you have to be respectful. I'd take her again.

Amazing professor!! There are a lot of books but they're very cheap, lots of reading but it's fun. Group papers almost all semester long that are about 10 pages but I promise it's not as bad as it sounds! She shaped you into a better writer & is very passionate about what she teaches. I had her for both Woman Studies and Humanities, she may be the best Professor in Cerritos. She is so very passionate about her teachings. She opened my eyes and mind. Trust me, I had to work a lot for both of these classes; there was a lot of reading, writing, and thinking, and for that I am a better student! Communicate wth her she works with you

She is by far the best Professor at Cerritos College. She is extremely passionate and is very inspiring.. Her Women's Studies class is difficult and a large work load but she is very helpful and responsive. It has helped me with my writing skills tremendously.

Humanities 100. Ms. Trager is a nice person and is there for you if you need help. She really does care about her students and wishes the best for everyone. She does everything group essays except the research essay. She makes you go up in front of class with your group to read your essay, while everyone discusses what you did wrong or right.

Took her gender and sexuality in art course which is an honors course but i hear she teaches all her courses like an honors course. Trager is a amazing! She genuinely cares about you as a student & person. What value do you gain when you aren't challenged or pushed? An "easy A" is great until you need the skills and info to transfer. A lot of reading but journals aren't difficult. One group project and midterm. Her course isn't straight lectures. Movies and music videos also.

Course combines both Visual/fine arts with gender and sexuality. There is one art project that is done in this class which can vary from the students choice of Sculpture,drawing,painting, ceramic,photo,film, etc. There is also one group project so be careful who you group up with. Overall a great professor if you study Art, feminism, Queer theory.

Trager is a wonderful Professor, but she grades heavy on essay work and group assignments be sure not to pick lazy classmates. Also be very careful she throws chairs!!!

Trager is one of my favorite professors at Cerritos College! She does assign a lot of reading and expects YOU to print it all out by the 2nd day of class. Be expected to know the material before going to lecture because she does have every student participate. Dont do one of the readings she will kick you out of class. A few research papers also.

Professor Trager is not just a wonderful professor, she's a beautiful person inside and out. She cares about all her students. Go to office hours and ask for help and you'll see how much she cares and how much she wants to help you. I can't recommend her enough.

You'll definitely get a good education from her class. We read Foucault and when I transfered to UCI, I read Focuault there, too.

Trager is one of the best professors I've encountered and I learned so much in her class, but it was tough! No tests, but you have to read quite a bit. No textbook, but lots of articles and a few shortish books. She assigned about 4 papers, and 2/4 were group papers. No homework other than that. If you read/write well, you'll be fine.

I absolutely love Trager, she is my favorite professor of all time, and Im a stem major! She truly cares for every single one of her students, Ive spent so much time in her office hours, and she welcomes me every time. I have taken her for two semesters in a row, and I have learned so much. Honestly I think her classes should be mandatory.

I had Trager my first semester of undergrad. I got kicked out of the first half class for not doing the reading. She cared about her craft and expected us to be prepared. I learned how to think critically and to be prepared to contribute to my class. I'm in my final semester of grad school now, and her class prepared me to excel in college. No BS!

Tough grader, expects you to follow instructions to the T. A lot of mini-papers. Overall a very educational course though

Professor Trager is knowledgeable and gives excellent feedback! She provides clear criteria and ensures students know what to fix when writing. There are few assignments but they are time-consuming and strictly graded. I recommend her if you are okay with working hard for your A. Make sure your writing is detailed and NOT a summary. No extra credit

Professor Trager is passionate and demands a lot from students. Lots of reading, essays, and class participation. Challenging but worthwhile - I found unstuckstudy super helpful for staying on top of the workload. Just be ready to put in the effort.
