I was terrified to take English 201. Yup, you have to write essays or write answers to questions after almost each class. However, Prof. Vega will explain everything you need to know to success, and gives you a chance to rewrite your work if you do it wrong the first time. She's the funniest yet most brutal professor at BMCC. The readings are out of the booklet that she makes and supplies for $10. The stories are all interesting and you'll write essays for some and simply answer questions for others. If you send her a crappy paper, she'll be honest and tell you that it's crappy. Take her and don't disappoint her!

Vega is the best. She teaches your how to interpret literature and makes sure you know how to write a research paper using MLA Format. She gives good feedback and is always available for a one on one session. I think she has more office hours than teaching ones.

First 50% of your grade will be based on two-page papers, short answer questions, group panels, and a presentation. Getting an A here should be no problem. However, there's the next 50% of your grade which is based solely on the final research paper which is about 10 pages. She'll let you write it at home or in class. Overall, amazing professor.

I as well as at least 15 other students have learning disabilities. Professor Vega is great if you have one. She's kind, compassionate and caring and makes sure that you are learning every step of the way. She has office hours and is easily accessible if you have any questions

honestly she is a good professor, she gives you chances to rewrite your papers for a better grade and you can also meet with her. shell show you all the steps to get an A in her class. She will drill MLA format into your head. When you get it wrong she is hard on you, but now I am glad she did. I am taking a writing intensive course and am the only one who is doing well thanks to her. She really does prepare you for future classes and for life.

She is one of the best professors at BMCC!! I personally don't like interacting with people but with her I feel very comfortable. Our class became fully online due to the pandemic, but she still made it feel super comfortable. You will have to only write three papers which you can rewrite to get a better grade and one research paper at the end.

When Covid-19 hit, our professor was not equipped to continue and Vega stepped in. She went above and beyond to help us. She had Zoom sessions and discussion boards and was available 24/7. I have never had any teacher do what she did. She is amazing. I wish I had her from the start.

Her energy is genuine and thrilling! Expect to write mini research papers and discussion board posts once or twice a week. The readings are short stories, so the assignments should be a breeze. The papers can be a little tricky the first few times, but considering the professor's feedback, you should have an A by the end of the semester.

Professor Vega was fantastic. I had her for English 201 online for the winter semester and her work was very easy to complete and she gave feedback for all my essays. I got 100s on all my essays because she explained what I need to do clearly and multiple times during class. She is the only teacher that made me actually like an English class.

I had a lot of problems transitioning from online to in person learning. I had a lot of personal/psychological issues, but she worked with me. Not only that, but she made sure I got counseling and that I improved both in her class as well as my other classes. She should be a life coach.

I took this class before and my last professor was horrible. He basically told me to drop out. Vega on the other hand, kept pushing me beyond my limits and would not let me give up. She is inspirational and funny. I looked forward to her class every Friday. I wish she would teach all my classes.

When I first had Professor Vega, I didn't like her very much. I felt she gave a lot more assignments than other professors (I compared her with my friends' professors). I had her Spring 2023. Professor Vega can sometimes come off as a little "intimidating", but she's honestly a sweetheart underneath. I was practically out of school for nearly a decade, so I didn't know what I was doing and overwhelmed with everything. I took Prof.Vega class tin both Eng100.5 and Eng201 and she is a very great professor who not only teaches informative classes but also tells us about things outside of the course. liked her very much. You will get a good grade if you follow the professor's instructions.

Her sense of humor is what makes the class enjoyable and pass by very quickly despite being almost 3 hours long. She will not baby you, she treats you like an adult and will give harsh feedback if needed. Tough grader, but very fair. Pretty easy not gon lie, just follow how she wants you to write and listen. You answer a bunch of discussion questions after you read a piece of literature. Then you write 3 papers and a final which is a 10 paper essay. Not gonna lie tho, felt a bit more like a sociology class to me than a literature though.

I took a prerequisite ENG IM95 which is a non credit class but required to move on with other classes. I took her summer course. I didn't get the option to choose the right class so I chose English. Professor Vega is amazing. She provides a lot of feedback, is willing to set up zooms and give advice on writing, she has a great TA that responds to emails, helps with citations, has great sample essays/resources. She's very funny, amusing and has great humor as well. I was very lucky to have her, you will not regret taking her.
