I absolutly love Julie!! As a teacher and as an amazing woman. I truly hope I see her again one day!

you will looooove the class and learn so much. you can earn an easy A++ in her class plus learn sooo much.

Dr. Waskow is the bomb!!! Her text is a spiral notebook and she provides that to you saving about $100.00. She lectures from memory and her test are all done on line thru blackboard. Very easy class, but I learned more in this class than any of my others this semester.

Great instructor with very clear instructions and no work overload. Definitely makes it fun.

She is so cool, she doesn't require a text book, all her tests you can take at home. This class was so fun and easy. Sign up for this class, you wont regret it. All of her assignments are crazy easy.

Julie Waskow is a great teacher. She is very helpful and easy goign on the test. Her class is very interesting and you never get bored. Test are very easy come from the notes. Attendance is mandatory. She gives a lot of extra credits to do, if you are not doing well you bring up your grade with it. She is awesom.

Julie is an amazing teacher. She knows so much about all the different types of religions and tells it like it is. She is never bias which is amazing. If you study the class notes you will do well on the test. In the honors section we have papers due that are graded tough! She also offers small extra credit opportunities if you need the extra bump.

Dr. Waskow is an absolutely amazing professor! While the Attendance is manditory, the class is based more upon the work. IT IS NOT A "GIMME" CLASS! You ar required to participate, turn in assignments (specific details) and do well on tests. This class is NOT for 1st semester students! It is fun, interesting and she is very knowledgable. A++

Easily the most attractive teacher at GCC! :) I originally took this class for the credit but after realized how helpful it is. There isn't take home tests; take them in HTC 1. But if you pay attention and do the work you will pass. She makes it fun to learn and very helpful. I recommend this class with complete faith in the teacher! :) O.S.

I posted the comment below, and by easiness I did not mean in terms of the work and tests being easy. The work you have to really pay attention in class and do your research and the tests you should really study but it is completely worth it and she will help you if you need it. And again I firmly believe she should win Goddess of GCC. :) O.s

FANTASTIC! alot of kids figured "HERP DERP philosophy of sexuality, that means i just get to stare at**** and not do work HERP DERP". this is not the case. show up, do the work, and pay attention... do NOT take her classes if you cant take them seriously.

Easily the BEST professor I've ever had. She's very knowledgeable and explains things clearly. Her enthusiasm while teaching makes you pay attention and makes class really interesting. You really have to pay attention and take notes to do well on the tests and assignments. She's also super helpful if you have questions. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!

Julie really knows what she is talking about. Enjoyed going to class everyday just to find out what new story she had to tell. She is an awesome storyteller, and that is how I remembered everything she taught.

Professor Waskow is the best professor I've ever had. She's so enthusiastic and passionate and really prides herself in making her students better.

Waskow is one of my favorite professors! She explains things so well, and gives you a notebook so all you have to do is write down what she's saying in the corresponding sections! She makes class interesting and fun. No homework, just exams. You have to read the stories out of the textbook & study your notes to do well. Piece of cake!

I took her Honors Women in Religions. My advice is to do the assigned readings and when she gives you the essay questions before the test outline them or write them out before the test. She picks 5 or 6 from the questions she gives you and those are the essays you have to do on the test. She expects college level work but is a very fair grader.

I had Julie for Philosophy of Sexuality (sex in religion). DO NOT BE FOOLED!! This class is difficult, and requires your attendance, and your attention! Put your cell phones away and stop the side chit chat. This is an amazing class with an amazing professor who is willing to work with you and provide any further information or explanation.

I took this class my first semester in college and am glad I did. I have no doubt that she will be the one professor that I always remember. She is articulate, helpful, and gives great lectures. You must show up to class, take notes, and complete all the readings that she tells you to in order to make an A. I highly recommend her.

Julie is an amazing professor. She's worldly, intelligent, and has actually spoken to women all around the world about their religions. She knows that you can't put religion in a box when studying it. Show up to class, pay attention, and take notes. I've taken two of her classes and gotten A+'s both times.

I took her women and religion class and wow! It is not what you might think. Julie gives great insight to every religion you study in her class and keeps your attention with stories and answers any and all questions even if she has to go reasearch it for you first. However you NEED to read the chapters, look at the links on blackboard and the notes

Julie is a very passionate teacher, lots of personal experiences to share. Class is interesting. Lots of note writing! 2-3 pgs a day. She is SUPER strict when it comes to phones & being on time. At the start of every class, you are to sign the attendance folder. I was 10 mins late once & she told me I shouldnt sign it. Great teacher, just anal.

She is without a doubt the best instructor at Glendale Community College! If you have a chance to take one of her classes Take it!

Intelligent, kind, helpful instructor. For example, If you ask her for help she will go above and beyond to help you succeed, including sparing her own time. Great class took it in honors pay good attention to her lectures on various religions, and do the readings and you'll be good to go, besides her lectures are captivating:)

Julie was super awesome and super helpful. She provides you with a textbook which you fill in. The reading checks are super important so make sure you do them. She was super helpful when I missed classes due to health and she helped me catch up. Her tests are super hard, she gives a study guide, but make sure you read the book too! I recommend her

Julie was one of my favorite's teachers I've had. the class is not hard, but if you miss one day, you will get confused. it is mandatory to attend class because you get docked 2 pts every time you miss, the points add up. her test were not cake, you actually have to study, but she gives you everything you need to know that will be on the test!

Julie was absolutely amazing, she is definitely one of my all time favorite professors. Not only is she such a great teacher, but she truly cares about your thoughts. "There are no stupid questions." She is always there when you need help. Would recommend her to all my fellow peers! SHE IS AWESOME!

Most amazing teacher ever. I followed her from one semester to the next due to the pure passion she has for the subject along with her students. She keeps you accountable and you HAVE to do the work to get a good grade but it's not an issue since the instruction in so clear. I miss her. I wish she could be my teacher for every subject.

ONE OF MY FAVORITE PROFESSORS SO FAR!!! Her class was very interesting and I had a lot of fun! She gives study guides for the tests that are beyond helpful and the majority of your grade is attendance. Goes out of her way to help everyone. AMAZING!!!

The most interesting class I have ever taken by far! I love Mrs Waskow, she makes this so fun to learn. She genuinely cares about us and all of her experiences are so fun to learn about. The classroom requires a lot of reading and work, but it is very possible to get a good grade; just have to put the work in!

I love, love, love Professor Waskow! She has a great passion for what she teaches and is very helpful. I thoroughly enjoyed her class and plan on taking her REL 291 class. A word of caution: her late policy is extremely strict, so do not turn anything in late if you can help it! The point difference can make or break your grade. Highly recommend!

One of my favorite professors. The way her class was distributed when I took it was that it was evenly weighted between her papers and tests. If you go over the material/listen in class and have a good handle of the curriculum you should have no problems in her class as long as you can articulate that in your papers. Really enjoyed her lectures.

She is the BEST teacher I've ever had. Not only is she extremely helpful, but also takes the time to get to know you. She makes everything interesting to learn and easy to comprehend. She even helped me get a new job and wrote a great letter of recommendation for a scholarship I'm hoping to get. I highly recommend taking her class:)

All I can say is WOW!!! She is an amazing teacher and teaches with such passion. I have learned and grown so much from taking her class. If you put in the work, study, and come to class, you will get an A. This is definitely my favorite teacher!

Honestly, this class was amazing and so was the instructor. There would be periodic discussions and overall very enjoyable.

By far the best teacher I have ever had. She gives you a fill in the blank notebook on the first day and thats all you need for the semester. Only had four tests the whole semester, they are difficult but if you study and use your notebook she gives you its an easy A! She's awesome!

Professor Waskow is the best teacher I've ever had. She makes everything fun from her vast knowledge to her own personal worldly travels. I've never had a teacher encourage so many questions, even when they get a tad repetitive or annoying. I am most definitely going to take her other classes as well. BEST TEACHER! I have taken 2 classes of hers and I enjoyed every second. I took her honors class. She tells you from the beginning what you need to do. If you want to you can get ahead. No book required, all the reads are available in the library. Gives study guides and goes over them in class. TAKE HER CLASS!!

I struggle with staying focused and untreated when learning about history and religion but this class was awesome! She makes it interesting and I looked forward to this class. Highly recommend.

Dr. Waskow is an amazing instructor, she speaks with experience and doesn't teach in a way that is either right or wrong, everyone's opinion matters. Loved REL291, it was very interesting and she makes it so everyone feels comfortable, truly a great teacher!!!

She is an amazing teacher. I expected it to be a crazy religion class at the beginning but when I took this she made it super interesting and I loved every moment of the class. Just make sure you keep on top of your out of class readings cause if you don't that can make your grade suffer tremendously

Very good teacher i missed a day so she left my makeup test on campus and even gave me a scantron. Funny, super relaxed, loves her job, very efficient. The women in religion class is what I took and would definitely take her again. This teacher has traveled the world and absolutely loves teaching what she has learned from her journey.

Probably one of the best professors I've had at Gcc. Her class impacted me in the best way possible. Her test were really easy and this is coming from someone that isn't that smart. I love her energy and how i was just never bored in her class. If I could I would take her class again.

This class had nothing to do with my major but, I absolutely loved Julie. She makes studying religion fun and entertaining. We don't have to remember date necessarily but, the lectures, power points and presentations she gave made this one of my favorite classes that semester. She is such a sweet heart. I was a lot of work but, totally worth it.

Waskow is so AMAZING, she definitely makes you work for your grade but her class is simple! STUDY STUDY! Read the textbook & study the notes you take in class and you will pass with an A! Ask questions and she will be more than willing to help. She really knows how to teach her stuff and is so helpful. I loved her class and would retake her again.

AMAZING teacher. My favorite at GCC. Easy class. Ended with a 98%. Got over 100% on almost all tests. Key to success is read your textbook.

Just show up for class and you're good! She gives a "textbook" that she wrote that you can take notes in and that is basically all you will need! Love her so much!

I have taken all of Dr. Waskow's courses at GCC and I wish I could take more! She has the worldly experience to teach and is so sweet and easy-going. Listening to her lectures, she is so ANIMATED and explains everything so clearly. Doesn't even feel like a "class." She inspired me to switch my major to r.s. and helped me get an honors scholarship.

Dr. Waskow brings passion to every lecture (brilliant lecturer). She is extremely knowledgeable & cares so much about each student. I highly advise that you do not wait until the last minute to complete readings and pre-exam write-ups. Dr. W. shares so many intriguing stories & keeps you engaged throughout the semester. Would take again!!

Overall great professor, she is passionate for what she teaches and is very knowledgeable. Her lectures are in depth and fast paced but she is great at lecturing making it easy to learn. 5 online quizzes were given and 5 in class tests about the online readings. The reading are important.

She is makes lectures interesting. If you ever need help she is always available, and is happy to help. She is very helpful if you don't understand she will always take time to explain and help you understand.

I have never enjoyed a class so much before I always looked forward to this class because it was so interesting! I am now minoring in religious studies because of how inspired I was by Dr. Waskow. I took REL290 with Waskow and I loved her so much that I am currently taking REL100. Now I am going to take her again for REL291 just for fun. She is so knowledgeable about all religions. She cares about every single student and has the best lectures. You are only graded on 6 quizzes and 6 exams but they are easy and she offers EC for each. Easy A!

I have taken two different classes with Waskow and next semester I am going to take a third, just for fun! She is my all time favorite professor, hands down the absolute best. If you get the opportunity to take her, then do it!! An A is super achievable.

I am not surprised that she has 5.0 on her overall quality, amazing professor. Get ready to read a lot, have discussions assignment, quizzes, and concept maps. It might seem a lot but it's an honors class. Its a lot of work but not hard, as long as you put your effort into it then you should be fine. I would totally take her class again. HILARIOUS!

I had taken her Honors Hybrid course for Women and World Religion... and even though it was a hybrid class if i ever had a question I would received feedback within minutes and with easy explanations. You will receive more feedback then most face to face classes! Her course work is very organized and easy to understand!! Definitely would recommend

Her lectures get you excited about the material and she encourages questions. She has straightforward assignments, easy at home quizzes, and provides clear study guides for how to ace the tests. Also, she provides extra credit throughout the semester if you need it and she gives great feedback on projects and tests. :)

Waskows Religion & Sexuality class is way easier than her world religoion course so that is a plus. Being able to relate to things to real life & remember examples from lecture is a must for this class. Attendance is a must as Waskow goes throught alot of stuff. Stay ontop of your end of the semester project, stay awake, & study a little.

She actually listens to students, and is honestly amazing at helping people understand with out making them feel as less than. She's almost always in a great mood and tries to keep everything as interesting as possible to keep focus and attention.

Professor Waskow has so many great attributes, that I don't even know where to start. She is very educated and knowledgeable on Religion and Sex. The class is beyond interesting, I was always excited to show up and learn. If you have any questions, she is always ready to answer with a clear response - whether over email or in person. Dr. Waskow is an amazing teacher. It is obvious that she loves teaching and wants her students to ask questions. REL100 is not a hard class, if you watch all the lectures, read the textbook, and take notes. There is either a quiz or test every week with discussion posts and small assignments. If you enjoy online classes, take this class!

I LOVED Julie! I took her online honors class and yes, it required me to actually study, but her content in interesting, and she makes sure that if you miss questions on tests or quizzes, she explains why and where to find the correct answer in the book. She is very passionate and shows it through her curriculum and the video lessons.

She is truly an amazing teacher! She gives great detailed lectures that allows you to follow along easily. She WILL NOT give credit just for the sake of it. Her exams aren't hard per say you just need to be sure you go over your notes heavily. DO ALL WEEKLY ASSIGNMENTS AND YOU WILL PASS.

I took her world religions class and she was the best. you have to read the textbook to pass the quizzes and watch the lectures which are really easy to understand to pass the test. She gives amazing feedback and she always answers the messages even in the weekends!

Professor Waskow was a delight, there are many discussion posts due weekly, along with quizs and chapter readings. If you read the book and watch her lectures you should pass her exams with flying colors. There's a honors portfolio project in the end; it's very time consuming, so DON'T wait until the last minute. Reach out to her for any questions!

Julie is a great teacher, you will NOT regret if you pick her class, all you need to to is follow her homework and step by step, take your notes and that should be everything on the exam.

Professor Waskow was a great professor. Took her for an honors course. You need to be sure to follow all lecture videos and take very good notes. If you do not take good notes or watch the lecture videos you will not pass the tests.

Best online class teacher I've taken. Her class is really organized and you just do things in order every week so you don't miss anything. She gives an outline of the notes the first week that has possible test questions in it. Really helpful. She gets back to questions fast and grades fast so you don't have to wait to long to know how you did.

Professor Waskow is clearly so passionate about her subject and it makes her such a joy to learn from. The class was hybrid so attendance was optional but I found myself looking forward to going. Easy assignments and tests are very straightforward, just read the textbook or make sure you can key word search. Loved this class!

Professor Waskow is a really nice teacher who will help you out through anything. Her class is easy to manage as long as you stay on track and do each assignments. She will give feedbacks on every test. Tests are pretty heavy, but as long as you do the work you will be just fine!

I took Professor Waskow for REL100 and REL290, and I could not recommend her more! She is passionate about what she is teaching, and keeps her class involved and interested in the subjects. The class involved mostly notes, small activities, discussions, and unit tests, but as long as you take good notes and stay on track, you will do succeed.

I've taken here two religion based honors courses starting with women and world religion and world religion. I came back for another classes because of HER. She's informative, passionate, caring, clear and fair. Never had a better professor. Please take her especially for honors credit!!!

Well Dr. Julie Waskow is truly a blessing and I believe this world is such a better place with her in it! She is so mesmerizingly charismatic! I could listen/learn from her daily, forever! I think of her when I hear the song 'The Sign'. She is DEFINITELY there for the SERIOUS 'learner.' In 1997 we got her 'in person!', which was FANTABULOUS! TY!

I only have 350 words, but even that cannot cover the amount of love and support I felt since taking her class. She's so understanding about life situations and goes out of her way to be there for her students. Shes retiring this year, I'm going to miss her so much (with tears in my eyes).

Professor Waskow was such a treasure! She truly loves what she does and has so much insight into what she teaches. Be prepared to work, though! She usually assigns about 1-2 chapters each week for you to work on, so 5-6 assignments. She also assigns videos within her chapters, which DO matter. Advise not taking this as an accelerated class though!
