Psych Research Methods: Shows great enthusiasm in teaching style. Exam questions are taken from the book. Reaction paper, and article critique due.
By far the cutest, nicest, most helpful and intelligent professor in Cincinnati. I learned more in her class than in all of my previous 21 years of life, by far.
Great teacher. If you come to class and pay attention you'll get an easy A. I never had to use the textbook.
EXCELLENT TEACHER! I took her last quarter for Psychology 201 and am in her class this quarter for 202. Her teaching method is straight to the point and easy to understand. While the textbook is not completely necessary, studying is definitely a must. Take her class!
Great professor who is fun to talk to and makes class enjoyable. Sometimes I felt she went almost too slowly, but the nature of this series is to split up Stats itself and mix it in with research methods. She's an easy going professor who is always willing to help and has plenty of chances for easy points.
Weast explains the material so well during class that there is really no need to study for the test. She is over willing to help with literally anything. You will do yourself a favor by taking her. There is no reason why you should not get an A in her class. UC did a great job picking her up.
Best professor I've had in my 3 years at UC. She is so enthusiastic in class and really makes it fun and makes the material really relatable to people of our age group. She didn't use a book for our class, but she didn't need to, she is really thorough in class and is extremely helpful and tries to make sure everyone completely understands it all.
Amazing teacher. She teaches Stats in a way that anyone could understand. Willing to help, easy to talk to, everyone in the class enjoys her. I am so glad I had her as a stats teacher. Best teacher at UC.
The class was very easy and understandable with her as a teacher. Homework, tests, and quizzes were all online & open note.
Best professor I've had at UC! Her class is super easy, but you'll actually learn the material. She's awesome!
I highly recommend Dr.Weast! She is so nice and funny. She breaks the material down, explains everything clearly and makes it simple. Probably one of the best professors at UC!
Julie is by far the best teacher I have ever had! I started off in Kallan's section and thought this class was going to ruin my GPA. Switched over to Julie, Best decision ever. Julie makes sure each and every student understands what she is teaching and makes sure to relate the material to the students. Tests are open note/laptop! Love her!!!
Julie is the all around best! She is friendly, helpful, intelligent, creative, caring, and incorporates puppies, kittens, and real world events into her class. If you want to make sure you get the best understanding in stats possible, take Julie.
I love this class, I recommend this professor to everyone interested in taking Psych. Julie is very friendly, entertaining, helpful, and always shows up in a positive attitude. Tests were online and open note, and she offered review sessions for anyone interested. 1010 recommend.
Julie Weast is amazing!!! I recommend this class to anyone interested in Psych. All the tests are online and are open note and you don't really have to go to class, but I still would. She's hilarious, helpful, and the class is very very entertaining. Best professor I've had so far.
Julie Weast is one of the best professors I have had so far. I definitely recommend signing up for her if you are majoring in psychology. In order to fulfill psychology requirements to graduate, you have to take Research Methods and Statistics. Julie is very enthusiastic and is very good at explaining material. Makes stats fairly simple.
She is wonderful at teaching a large group of students. She uses fun examples and explains everything thoroughly. She doesn't put any math on her exams, just concepts. She will help you or slow down if you aren't understanding the material. I recommend taking this professor.
Dr. Weast is an excellent professor. She's very helpful and very funny. She obviously cares about her students and the subject matter.
Julie is the best prof I've ever had. She's SO sweet and SUPER helpful. Her lectures are always engaging and you learn so much interesting material. Had her for Intro and Research Methods& Stats. I'm awful at Stats and I got an A in her class. Always there for you, and always keeps you laughing. (PS-hope you like animals because she sure does)
She's wonderful and such a great professor. I personally am not a fan of math related courses, but she made it easy enough anyone could understand by starting off everyone at the same pace. She's awesome and if you haven't taken a course taught by her, you need to!
Julie is an amazing professor. She keeps almost all of her lectures upbeat. She is funny and extremely understanding. She always talks about how she loves animals and that keeps the class fun. She is so pretty and smart. She's literally perfect.
I loved Dr. Weast's class. She's a great professor. However, the grad students that teach her lab section suck. There's not a clear grading rubric for the lab. I struggled in the lab but did very well in the lecture. I might end up with a B after the extra credit which is a little frustrating because I'm a student that's used to making all As.
This professor is incredibly easy. However, she's super lazy. We missed a week of summer class because she "feels sick" and this course is a 6 week fast paced class. Also semester ends in 3 weeks but I have no idea what my grade is yet. Overall, if you're looking for an easy A take her. But if you actually want to learn then take someone else.
Julie is a great professor. She makes the lectures enjoyable for the whole 80 minutes. I would definitely take a class with her again. The lab is hard though. The grad students who teach it don't seem to know how to teach.
Very helpful and answers everyone's questions in class and after class/doing participation assignments.
Dr. Weast is an awesome professor. I had her for Stats I and loved her so much I just had to take her again for Stats II. She made a class that I typically wouldn't enjoy fun and easy. If you go to class, you will pass. Tests are always open notes, and if you need any help at all she is always available after class and willing to talk.
Prof. Weast is HILARIOUS. She is SO energetic and its almost like she drinks 3000 cups of coffee before her lectures. She chose some pretty good TA's that were very helpful when I couldn't reach her, but she was there 99% of the time. I am taking again for 2002. She gives in-class assignments every time so attendance is important. 5/5
She is the absolute bomb and I wish I could take her for every course. She also curves all the tests.
Julie makes class fun and explains anything you need to know
Dr. Weast is awesome, and she is the better statistics professor for psychology students. This class is under psychology even though it's really a math course, just make sure you do all the Aplia's on time. Also you get points for showing up.
Great professor. She is hilarious, her lectures are informative and entertaining. I hated Research Methods & STATS I with a different professor but this professor definitely made part II easier to understand. This class is easy as long as you come to class. If would absolutely take her class again and recommend her to fellow students.
Dr. Weast is hands down the greatest professor I have ever had. She is hilarious, super nice, easy to talk to, and clearly explains class content and expectations of the class. I was super nervous to take the class, however she made it amazing. HIGHLY recommend taking this class with her, you won't regret it! The work is minimal so do it!!
The lectures breeze by, you won't even notice the time has passed. Plus, you actually come out having learned something. No effort, just fun and educational.
One of the nicest people ever. She actually explains thing in a way that makes sense.
Dr. Weast is the most caring, loving, hilarious professor I have ever had! She makes class so fun and easily understandable. I loved her so much I now TA for the class. I HIGHLY recommend taking class with Dr. Weast if at all possible!!
The nicest, most caring professor I've ever had. She believed in me when I didn't believe in myself.
My favorite professor so far. Easy class since all exams are taken online and all of the lectures are enjoyable. Occasionally attendance grades are taken so it's a good idea to show up to class.
Every class is a lecture but she makes it fun by including videos and cracking lots of jokes. Every class she asks a participation question worth 5 points so if you skip class often it could bring your grade down easily. There are mindtap quizzes every other week and exams every other week. Both are easy as long as you pay attention in class/read
Best professor anyone will ever have.
Okay, real talk here: Dr. Weast is AMAZING! I was so scared to take Stats but she literally made me love it (it's now my favorite class). She is so kind, respectful, hilarious, and perfect. She is willing to help everyone and wants you to truly succeed. I recommend 10000%! Just do your work and attend class, you'll do great.
I'm not a math person and I struggled with stats before but Julie teaches in such an effective way I genuinely feel like I learned in her class. She's funny and she's very understanding. One of the best in the psych department.
Julie is fantastic! She is truly brilliant and is able to break down complex material in a way that is easy to understand. She is thoughtful and devoted to your success. She is always available for help and she gives plenty of time to complete assignments. Attendance is mandatory, but depending on your sections, you could get out of class early.
Dr. Weast is a blessing to all college students that find themselves in her classes! She genuinely cares about her students and is invested in their success! I have an 8 am class with her this semester, and I never thought I'd say this about an 8 am, but I love it! If I could, I would take her class again. She makes me excited about statistics!!!
Julie is amazing and is honestly the best professor I have had at UC. Stats was my 8am and I missed maybe 2 classes. I honestly don't think I could have gotten through all of those 8ams without her. She is very upbeat and encouraging. Super funny and keeps the class engaged. Homework and tests are relatively easy because of good teaching and notes.
THE most amazing professor I have ever had. I was wary of taking Research Stats but passed both 2001C & 2002C with A+. An INCREDIBLE professor who gives amazing lectures- very clear, lot of examples/ visuals. Assignments at the end of each class count for participation but helped me to practice. Can have cheat sheet on exams. Weekly online HW- easy
Nicest professor ever. I waited an extra year to take the second research methods and stats so she would come back from maternity leave and I could have class with her again. TAs were helpful. Had to study for exams. Show up to class to do graded classwork.
Julie's amazing! The class is always interesting with adequate amount of videos that support the dry facts and learning. Class participation is counted as a part of the grade. Good extra-credit opportunities, although not needed.
I absolutely love Julie. She cares about each and every one of her students and is there to make sure we understand the material and get everything we can out of the course. Her lectures are easy to listen to and pay attention and the homework actually gives you information you need. This class actually influenced me to change my major to psych.
I absolutely adore Julie. This class was hard to me because statistics isn't my strongest subject, but Julie made this class bearable. She is extremely friendly, personable, and helpful. I always felt so comfortable around her and in her class. She does everything she can to help her students. She's funny and real and I really appreciate that.
She's my favorite professor I've had so far. Her class was moderately difficult for me personally, but she helped me a lot. She always answered my questions even if they were stupid. Attendance is important because there are lectures and in-class activities every session. We didn't use the book very much except for Mindtap assignments.
There are in-class activities every day that she'll take for credit but they're always really easy and she's a really good lecturer. There is an exam every other week but they're really easy. The way this class is set up makes it really easy. And there's a stupid amount of extra credit so there's really no reason you shouldn't get an A.
Dr. Weast is one of the sweetest professors I've had so far. She's really funny and understanding. Lectures aren't mandatory, but sometimes you'll do an in class assignments worth five points. My one complaint is that the online exams sometimes cover material we didn't go over in class. When we switched to remote learning, she made class very easy
Dr. Weast-Knapp is an incredible teacher and genuinely cares about her students. She is one of those teachers that make me want to pay attention and really learn. My class was completely asynchronous and she did such a good job making sure everything was clear and easy to understand and didn't overload us with work. Would recommend her to anyone!
she is the nicest professor i have ever had. she is so understanding and goes above and beyond for you. shes amazing.
She is one of the best professors I have ever had. I was very nervous about stats but she made it super enjoyable and fun. There is a decent amount of homework but it is not overwhelming, in fact I think it is enjoyable.
Julie is knowledgeable, skillful, & caring. She made statistics fun & easy for me to understand. She gave short weekly quizzes but plenty of opportunities to prepare via worksheets and assignments, which all contribute to your final grade. A textbook was required, but most quiz and assignment questions were from her excellent PowerPoint slides.
Julie is one of the kindest professors I've ever had. She really cares about her students and goes the extra mile to make sure we understand everything. She's very understanding about stats as a topic that is difficult for many psych majors who suck at math :p I just wish the class was in-person so I could experience her positivity more directly!
Hands down one of the best professors at UC. As you can tell with most of the past ratings, she's an amazing professor. I loved her lectures and she always made sure we understood the content. Always tried to make her lectures relatable to the real world and I think it definitely helped. You won't regret taking her as a professor.
Julie is an amazing professor. Provides clear and useful lectures and ensures everyone understood the content. A lot of help inside and outside of class available. All around one of the best professors ive ever had.
Julie was by far the best professor my first year here at Cincinnati. Despite having a baby and switching to an all online class she stated herself that class was not mandatory. The workload is little too none, and if there is an assignments the time spent is barely anything. You would have to want to fail, too fail.
Amazing professor! I took this class online and I feel like it is always harder to learn online but she made things so easy and the course was set up so well. Pretty easy A as long as you complete assignments and read what she gives you.
This class was interesting and I'm thankful to have had Dr. Weast's down-to-earth interpretations of the textbook information that she provided in her lecture slides. I took this class online, but felt like I was able to get to know her by her stories of family life with her beautiful girls and I felt like she really cared about her students.
Super nice and goes in-depth for every question!
Julie was an amazing professor! She really cares about her students wellbeing. She loves to talk about her children, which is so precious to me. She has background information that relates to the material we learn. The textbook was necessary bc it gave us access to an online program we used every week. We had no tests, no final, and no midterm
Good and easy course. No midterms or exam which was great, however there are weekly quizzes. Julie is super nice and clearly cares a lot about the students.
Probably my easiest course I'll ever take. Just a quick 5 minute assignment each week and that's it. Julie cares about her students a lot and is always one email away if you need help with anything psych related.
When I say attendance isn't mandatory, I mean I showed up to class twice the entire semester and passed with an A. She seems amazing as a person too.
The easiest class I have ever taken at UC. The assignments take me at most 20 minutes a week and I put a lot of effort into mine. Almost, if not all grading is automated and based on completion, so if you are looking for more feedback on your work, look elsewhere.
Genuinely the most caring professor I've ever had
Went to class once, this was literally the easiest class I have ever taken in my entire life. Assignments and weekly quizzes took me 10 mins or less.
Great professor overall. If you have her for PSYC1001 on your first semester, rejoice, as it will likely be one of your least stressful classes out of all. Her lectures were engaging and all assignments short and easy (still, make sure you read through everything properly). Be ready to hear a lot about her kids, though. And I mean, a lot.
Julie is an amazing teacher. She really has a heart for her students and doesn't put to much pressure on them. The assignments are very light and easy but still manage to learn a lot. Class is not mandatory but definitely a good idea to go.
helpful and flexible
Accused me of cheating.
I love Julie! I have taken multiple courses that she teaches and you can tell that she loves what she does. Lectures will always end early. The homework that she gives isn't super difficult and is easy to manage with other courses. She does sometimes get off track and talk about her personal life, but she acknowledges it and gets back in topic.
Julie always seemed to have something going on so a lot of the classes never happened. But when they did, they were amazing lectures, she's a very caring professor, and you learn a lot!
Just a really great person and an overall super easy course. I wasn't entirely interested in the subject matter but she made it more interesting during her lectures.
I liked her so much so that I had her for like 4 classes. She is the chillest professor I have ever had. She doesn't ask a lot of you and when she gives out homework, its never anything over an hour.
Super fun to listen to!
Amazing professor and super understanding! She also gave lots of feedback and was super educated about the topic
She is hilarious. Any class with her as the professor will be a fun one. Some of her courses don't require attendance, but it's still beneficial to go. Very clear grader and is always willing to talk to students either in or outside of class. Would definitely take again!
The best psychology professor you could have. She is incredibly caring, sweet, and really wants the best for her students. You are given weekly assignments that are very easy. She is not a tough grader whatsoever and I hope to have her as my professor in the future.
Best professor ever!!!!!!!!!
She is one of the best professors here. She is extremely lenient and you could honestly end the semester with a 94% without attending a single class (if you do the easy online assignments.) Attendance is taken each class but has such a small effect on your grade. Super humorous and personable.
100% recommend her. Such as great professor.
1000% recommend any class with her, she is an amazing professor!
Literally the sweetest person ever. Take her class if you are a first year!!!
Easy class if you do the work which is easy work
