Loved this class and I don't like science. Very interesting way of teaching. Juliene follows the schedule to a T, grades everything immediately, is crazy punctual, and structured. She expects this same commitment from students, so don't take the class if you can't accept this. Go to her office hours for help. Tests are straightforward. Take her.

Gard is awesome. She is nice, caring and super smart. She speaks on a high level for intelligent students and also gives simple examples for the people that aren't getting good grades. This class is NOT for slack students...hardest geography professor at EC. I was a math major and changed to geography because of her. Can't wait to take her in Fall.

She's professional, punctual, & always willing to help. She literally has everything scheduled & expects her students to respect that, so be there on time (hw in hand)! Her lessons are online for reference-- I bought the book but it only collected dust. Tests are lecture-based & simple (about 4 or 5 of them, approx. 50 questions each). I RECOMMEND!

The class is fairly easy. You hardly need your textbook. Of course this is a matter of preference. If you pay attention you shouldnt really need it at all. And even if you miss something, she puts all of her lectures on the website. As long as you're there to turn in your assignments there is no way you get less than a B.

Geo. 9- Professor Gard is the most organized and professional instructor that I've ever encountered. She is kind and very pleasant. She knows her subject and readily takes questions throughout the class period. There are 4 exams, 4 quizzes, 5 assignments, and other projects, plus a lot of necessary reading. Lastly, she's very hot.

Doc Gard is one of the most helpful professors at El Camino. She puts a copy of her class lecture notes on the TeamSite in advance. Additionally, to those who are interested in having Gard for Geography in the future, her class would be really easy, if you stick to the notes, and memorize them.

This class is easy B if you study. All her notes were in a course book, dont need the book at all only if you really want to.Her notes and power points are extremely clear. She drops the lowest exam grade. But we did have a group project...her first time ever doing it. I got a A in it. Just study all her lecture notes and you'll pass the class! :D

She is really helpful. She will tell you what is on the test so you can study. I only study from power points and I have an A in the class. No need to buy the book as long as you study power points and focus on what she said to focus on.

J. Gard is one the best instructors I have had @ ECC. But don't be fooled.. she is strict..must attend & do your homework. I thought this class was going to be super hard because it's a science class but she made it interesting. Most important listen and print out the handouts and you'll do great. Absolutely one of my favorite professors I've had at ElCo. She's very clear in her lectures, tells you what to study, and puts all her powerpoints online. If you go to class and pay attention, you can get an A. The class does cover a lot of material, so you have to be willing to put in the effort to study yourself

Prof Gard is one of the best professors I've taken at El Camino. She is super organized, she has her lectures planned from day 1 and sticks to them. She puts all her power points on the team site and her lectures are very clear and she makes sure you completely understand. You won't need the book much, just make sure to show up and you'll be fine.

Professor Gard loves what she teaches! Her enthusiasm for Geography will keep you interested. She is cool and sharp. You will know exactly what to expect on test and quizzes. (4 quizzes and 4 test) As long as you put in time to study no reason to not get A. Test have maybe one question from reading, book just for better understanding and clarity.

This was one of my favorite classes back when I had the class. The teacher knows the material and makes it easier than it looks. The notes are easy to follow. The test get gradually easier. Highly recommend taking this class.

Intro to GIS was an awesome class. Professor Gard is an expert lecturer and will keep you interested. The class was challenging but also very fun. Highly recommend if you are interested in Geography. The ArcGIS program can be very useful even if you aren't interested in the Earth Sciences.

Not an easy A but a manageable B or C. 65% is still a C. Easy class depending on how much you study. Gives you all resources to pass. Didn't buy the book, just went off of lecture notes and passed with an A. An up-tempo, inspirational and not to bad to look at either type of professor. She is so awesome, everything that is going to be on the test will be in the in class notes. YOU MUST print out the notes for each class session, if you don't it will be hard to keep up. she really is enthusiastic about geography and she make you want to keep learning more and more. overall I would highly suggest her class. very easy

Fantastic teacher. Just print out your notes online & take them to class. She's very into the subject she teachers & very helpful. All assignments & tests are easy to moderate difficulty. She gets a little strict when testing but only because she despises cheating which is respectable. You won't regret taking her. Not to mention she's beautiful )

I really love Dr. Gard's class. I see the world in a new way because she has opened my eyes. There is a ton of info she gives you in her awesome lectures, but she tells you the most important parts to learn for the exam. Her lectures have videos, drawings, and activities to keep everyone interested. Unless you hate school, you will love this class.

I love Professor Gard! I used to have such a hard time in science classes but this class was so interesting and she was so helpful that I ended up doing really well and am now more confident in science and school in general. I loved Professor Gard! She was very helpful, entertaining and really cared about you as her student. She gave 4 test and about 4 or 5 quizzes, and she tells you exactly what will be on both. Not much homework at all and long lectures. But they are full of pictures and videos so it makes the time go by faster/

She is a wonderful teacher and really cares about your students. If you just review the material needed for the exam from the study guide a few times, I see no reason you do not pass. However since she cares, if she feels like you don't that high enthusiasm she has will go away so answer a question every now and then. Only 5 assignments & 4 exams.

Her homework is very easy and would never take you more than an hour. She provides a study guide for the exam which is really helpful. Make sure you go to class everyday participation does matter.

Professor Gard is AMAZING! You are crazy not to take her. She post all of her lecture power points online which makes it so easy to take notes. Also throughout her lectures she give obvious hints as to what will be on the quizzes/exams and she provides a study guide. She is very organized and doesn't deviate from the schedule.

Gard is a good professor, don't expect to just show up to class and pass. She wasn't very strict with mandatory attendance but if you miss class you have to catch up and the material can seem like a lot at times. Study for exams as soon as she puts up the study guide, it will seem like a lot if you leave it all for the night before.

She is in love with her field so of course her lectures are great! She gives HELPFUL study guides Super open to answering questions Print out all lecture slides! Pretty funny Sit in front (helps for when she uses props) If you study hard, you should have no problem passing her exams with B min!

She is a good teacher and does her entire class on really good slides. DO NOT do the pre-test for the first exam. For some reason she decided to emphasize the fact that the practice test would be exactly like the real test, FALSE. You are better off just studying from the slides directly.

Prof. Gard was easily one of the best professors I had. There are quizzes, homeworks, and two big tests. All of the answers are in her powerpoints. Make sure to take good notes. Learned a lot in her class and she gives really cute and useful comments. I'll take her again in any lifetime.

Geology was not my best subject however Professor Gard made it easy and was always ready to help me get back on track. The work is not hard, class itself is mostly based on her online lectures you listen to online however she made it interesting sharing personal experiences. She was always available and encouraged me to do my best.

I am not a science person or even a computer person but I loved her and her class. It was online and I still felt like I got to know her personality. She is so sweet and answers emails very quickly and nicely. I also did zoom office hours which helped so much! Take her geology and you will learn a ton. Best class I took this semester.

I'm so surprised this professor has negative ratings. I take classes at EC while also enrolled full time at UCLA. I say this because I wish my UCLA professors were as communicative, inspiring and hard working. She teaches at a high level, but makes it accessible. Students that do not pass or like her class are either lazy or not college material.

She is passionate about teaching and nice. The class is well structured and teaches you to learn things in a simple way. Her midterm and final were not bad but the wording in her exams are a bit confusing and needs to be more clear. If you submit something and it's not included in the instructions how are you suppose to know ? She will doc points.

Print the class schedule out! I didnt and missed five assignments. They are easy if you read the directions and take lecture notes. The free online book is just okay. A 65% gets a C in the class, which is nice. She is really nice if you email or zoom. Even though I wanted to do better she was always encouraging me. Solid science class.

Even though I missed my A, it was because my grandma got sick and I dropped the ball. I apologized to Dr. Gard because I didnt show her my best. She is structured and professional and expects students to be the same. Listening to lectures and watching her videos is key. You won't do well without them. I loved the class so much I signed for her lab!

I love Professor Gard. Took her twice in my time in ElCo, and both times were great. She's the reason why I am a Geography major. Listen to her powerpoint lectures, TAKE GOOD NOTES, & study your notes and you will be fine. Not discussion heavy but exams include multiple choice, t/f, and writing. I have had some family covid stuff and Doctor Gard helped me to much. She met with me 4 times to study for the midterm even over spring break. I passed it because of her. She is so nice and cares. I dont know why people would think this lady is not nice. The class is science, but I love her.

Dr. Gard just explained things my counselor could not explain to me about transferring and graduation. She is a gem, and helpful. Meteorology is not for non-science-minded people. There is a TON of information. The class is fun, though, and I have a new appreciation of the sky, weather, and clouds. If you don't mind a hard science, take this class.

Professor Gard created the perfect class. The modules are laid out perfectly. The lectures/slides are detailed, but clear and easy to learn. There is not a ton of homework, all you need to do is watch the lectures, and take notes, and then the exam will be based off lectures. Study guides provided. Not only easy A, but easy way to learn about Geog.

I took geog 1 and 6 at the same time and it was really interesting and not that hard. She is super nice but one assignment she was really strict on. Most lectures are recorded and posted, the labs in geog 6 are fun and easy. Totally recommend.

This online class was interesting, well designed, and Doctor Gard is very nice and helpful. There is a lot of work (2 exams, 10 quizzes, 6 discussions, and 6 homeworks), so you must be motivated to stay on top of the work. Julienne as a person is very nice and she elaborates in her lectures. However, she is not considerate when it comes to accidentally missing an assignment when she didn't close the assignment on time. She is not easygoing and stresses the importance of small things. She also said shed give extra credit to nice students. The ones she likes. Shes okay

Highly recommend. The modules are well organized. It was an eye-opening learning experience. Enjoyed the narrated PowerPoints, insights & pictures of other parts of the world. Coursework is doable if you are focused & take good notes on terms, maps, diagrams, landforms. Gives you a wealth of knowledge of our earth that you never thought of before.

Science is not my strong suit, but I loved this course. Prof. Gard is a dynamic lecturer and nice but firm. We had 12 extra credit points, most earned by fun experiments done in class. I loved the rock trays, putting acid on carbonates, and measuring humidity. The quizes keep you on your toes, so do not take the class if you do not like studying.

This is the best online class I have taken. Some of the lectures are long, but they are no longer than a synchronous lecture in class. I appreciate the good structure of the modules and numerous five point assignments. She is a forgiving grader as long as you try. She was also helpful in office hours. Recommend.

Just saw my grade! She gave me 3 points to jump me up to a B because my attendance was good and I participated in class. Her lectures are great bec she draws pictures on the board and has us do lab experiments for EC. The exams were easy but the quizzes can be hard. I bombed 2 of them, but the many extra credits made up for it. Loved this teacher.

Amazing professor knows her stuff! I took her lab class online and it was a little difficult at first so definitely ask for help if you need it because if not, it can affect your quiz grade and quizzes are the most important part of the class when taking this lab online. Communication is key. Definitely not not a hard hard class to pass.

Professor Gard is a great teacher and actually knows what she is talking about! Your quizzes in this course are based upon the lectures, so make sure you come to class because some things are mentioned in person that are not mentioned online. Other than that is a pretty easy class to pass for your physical science requirement.

I do not enjoy science at all, but this science course was clear and straightforward. I liked the lay out of the modules and the videos. The workload could be overwhelming at times, but the content is interesting. There is some math and many graphs, but Professor Jullienne will help you understand them at any time. Completed a 6 week summer course and I must say wow! Plenty of nice things to say about Professor Gard. She was sweet, supportive, able to assist outside of office hours, prompt responses and turnaround times with grading, and was just great overall. She sets you up to succeed, but there is a lot of stuff due. Kind of lecture heavy, but expected!

Professor Gard's GEO1 class is engaging, with clear expectations and helpful lectures. The exams can be tricky, but attendance, participation, and using tools like unstuckstudy make it manageable. An enjoyable gen-ed option, especially for non-science majors.

Professor Gard made me rediscover my love for earth science and her geography lectures were just an adventure. Quizzes were every other week and each quiz was only for a particular class the day before. Mid term exam for first 8-weeks and Final exam for 2nd 8-weeks. Tons of extra credit opportunities.

I took Geo1 and Geo6 simultaneously and I can truly say this professor is passionate and you'll be engaged throughout the entire course. As a business major, this was a just a GE required course and I was skeptical to take any Earth Science course but she is definitely the professor to go with. Take notes and watch the lectures and you'll pass.

Wonderful professor, manageable course content for a one-credit class. Expect a weekly lecture video and lab that accompanies it, probably need 1-2 hours each week for lecture & lab. There are 3 discussions, 12 labs/quizzes, 4 exams, and one project. I recommend taking her, she is very sweet and helpful. No flexibility with late work, which is ok!

genuinely one of the best instructors i've ever had. never late to class, always prepared, great feedback, very encouraging and happy, great sense of humor. you can tell she isn't just phoning it in like some professors and genuinely cares about what she is teaching. Tons of extra credit and exams/quizzes are easy as long as you pay attention

Gard is amazing. Lectures were engaging & she explained the material so well. Also easy work load. Only 5 assignments & 10 online quizzes assigned. Only tough part is that the assignment/quizzes are worth very little points so losing a couple each assignment & quiz can impact your grade. But the posted lecture notes will help. Easy to pass!

Professor Julienne Gard is amazing! Her lectures are very interesting and she breaks down and explains the material well. She also gives feedback on your assignments. If you have questions she responds promptly. With that being said she does not accept late work so check due dates! I missed a couple and that affected my grade. Definitely Recommend!

Don't get me wrong this class isn't hard but she is very specific when grading. This wouldn't usually matter but because all the assignments are worth so little points getting marked down on an assignment here and there easily impacts your grade which is annoying so keep that in mind. Other than that she is very nice and loves what she teaches.

Professor Gard is one of the sweetest and most helpful professors you could ask for. Feedback on assignments that missed any criteria are very positive and constructive. Ms. Gard is always contributing towards your improvement through constant encouragement and reminders to get your work in on time. I could not have wished for a better experience!

All assignments are graded in small amounts of points so if you miss a question, it can affect your grade a bit. Nevertheless, the professor is pretty straight forward as to what the quizzes will be about and even provides study guides for the midterm and final. She gives constructive feedback on all assignments which is very much appreciated.
