Professor Wu is one of the worst professors at NJIT. He doesn't teach anything; he just reads straight off of Zy books. He will openly mock you in front of the class if you don't understand a problem, he has on numerus occasions called our class "Not bright" and "lazy". If you show up late, he will stop the lecture point at you and repeat "late"

This guy is absolutely garbage. If you have a choice, do not take him. You will have to do all the learning by yourself because he is not a good professor. Literally learned nothing from him. He is a good guy but just not a good professor at all.

Avoid taking him at all costs. The dude does not know how to teach for real. Half the class literally stopped showing up to lectures because this dude cannot teach for his life. Prepare to learn everything by yourself.

He just reads off slides and doesn't care to answer questions. Someone would ask for help with one of the questions and he said do it by yourself, I can't help. He can't teach at all and everyone just ends up leaving in the middle of the lecture. He is also very rude and laughs at a student if they don't understand the material. FInd someone else.

When he catches a student not paying attention when walking around the class like a CCCP officer, he asks what the point of going to class is, yet makes attendance a ritual. He moves very slow but thinks he's moving too fast. Nobody has the heart to tell him how delusional he is. Self-study slides or else, Written in class GET ME OUT OF HERE!

Don't take him if you can. He seems like he wants to help students and he seems like a nice guy, but his lectures were sometimes painful to sit through. He just reads off slides. Also, the grading criteria is hidden from students. I got a 90 in the class, and on the day grading was due after the semester ended, he gave me a B+ with no warning.

Horrendous Professor. Class is extremely disengaging and he's hard to follow. He just reads off slides for a good 5 mins and then goes silent for 10 minutes. Then ridicules and insults students for not paying attention. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Zero preparation given for finals. 95-100 is an A, 90-94 is a B+. Unfair grading scale.

Good luck with this professor, he is the only one that teaches 116, a mandatory class for EE and COE. While he barely taught the class, the final was fairly simple, but as grades were due he curved them so that only a select few would get A's because it made his class look "too easy".

He curved the grades at the end without warning to make a 99-100 an A. So many people did not get As because he did not want the class to look too easy. Very easy class but he just reads off of zybooks. The lectures were kinda pointless but attendance was a big part.

The professor gives the most uninteresting lectures and makes no effort to intriguing. Not only are the lectures boring, but the lectures are also very difficult to understand as the professor has a thick accent and speaks at a very low tone. The TA's are also not helpful at all and worst of all he is the only professor available for CS 116.

His lectures are dull and involve speeding through slides.The only redeeming factor was attendance thats it &craps nothing important the professor explains his non sense stories or experiences (someone gave him a ride to philadelphia airport he wasted 45 minutes…) he asked students to give him good enough feedback but the fact is. I also failed the final exam, the average score in my class was around a 40%. I barely passed but that's only because i did the tedious amount of homework on Zybooks (he relies off of that entirely to teach, it could have literally been an online course) Please get this dude fired and if you're taking him next semester, beware.

I was going to make a statement on how poor his teaching was, but honestly I don't even think I can call it teaching. The amount of hours that all added up I spent in his class has been an absolute waste of time. Was one of the few who got above 50 on the final, only due to Zybooks. Avoid, cannot stress how much time I wasted with this guy.

absolutely tanked my gpa, no practice for finals and im pretty sure he just grabs questions from quizlets that arent his. his entire curriculum is stolen as well i dont see how this is allowed? im a junior and this is by far the worst professor ive ever had.

He cares about attendance. Felt like it should have been online. Mostly self taught myself. Had a TA who did more examples which was pretty good.

Im not surprised a majority of the people failed the final since all he did was read off of it. near the end he realized what he was doing and actually started teaching but it was too late by then. just surprised to see that hes teaching again for fall 2025

Genuinely horrendous. I can't believe NJIT has allowed this professor teach as long as he has. Can't even count the bad experiences I've had. He continuously speaks condescending to all of his students and as you can read in the 30+ other poor reviews, his lectures are abysmal. Dude doesn't deserve the title of a teacher, let alone a professor.

i learned nothing from this guy considering all he did was read off of the website. also cold called people frequently when i took him last semester. i would take him again only because i found him funny but if you want to learn definitely avoid the guy

This professor is god awful, I can barely understand what he is saying, he literally reads off the textbook and nothing else. His grading is also bad he waits till the end of the semester to grade stuff and that's really annoying. If you need a reason to hate BNFO take this professor because trust me he makes you hate being their every second.

Professor would rather cry about low attendance, his poor course evaluations, his mortgage on his supposed “luxury New York penthouse”, and losing his job than teaching. Even when he is teaching, there is huge deadspace in his lectures where he's staring at his screen. Terrible professor avoid if possible

This is possibly the worst professor I've ever had. He is very unorganized. He made us retake the second exam along with the final just because there was an error on grading on his part. He told us a day before the exam that he would do this. He also does not teach well at all. Not engaging at all. Would not recommend.

I passed, but at what cost. Horrible teaching (he didnt even teach he just read off of zybooks). Its a waste of time actually going to class but he grades you off of attendance so you can't really do much, wish this was a virtual class

I didn't learn a single thing from this class and was lucky to get good grades since I took CS100 in the past. Overall everything everyone has said about him is true and you must avoid him

cannot fathom how this professor is still around. i had no choice but to take him this sem for bnfo (cause he was the only prof teaching this sem) and my friends already had him and mentioned how horrible he was. he was hard to understand and barely even taught. half of the stuff i was gonna say about him was already mentioned so theres no point 💀

My friend finished CS 116 with him and I'm not surprised that his curriculum is literally stolen and that he has not changed at all. God awful professor and you know its bad when I passed with a good grade and can still say he was horrible. I already knew how to code from high school and I learned absolutely nothing from him in 4 months. Dude needs a reality check, being a professor is not for him

The best professor ever! His lectures are so engaging, he explains concepts really well and made me change my perspective on life. Iam glad to have had taken Jun Wu he never fails to make me disappointed

its was a good online course, even though it was a in person class all he did was read from the Zy Book so im consideing it an online class. very easy tho but thats cause i knew how to code before hand so if youre a starter good luck you will probably fail like most of the people i know did

I LOVE PROFESSOR WU! I always wanted someone to read me the ZyBook cause apparently i cant do it myself. I LOVED his accent! To the point I had no idea what he was saying. I ALSO LOVE that he taught Absolutely nothing! Zy Book is a great platform tho, the professor should have been called Zy Book (first name Zy)

The problem is not his accent; it is his methods of teaching. Attendance matters and is graded under a different label. Lectures are based off the slides, and he doesn't bring anything new on the table. Concepts and assignments are bearable through Youtube. Honestly, you will manage. Your biggest challenges are midterm and final exams. Best of luck

This course, seemingly an introduction to C++ programming, has been, without exaggeration, the single worst academic experience I have encountered in my college career; I genuinely question its legitimacy as a college-level offering. Professor is nothing short of a joke. Class is a self teaching exercise, but utterly disastrous for learning. AVOID.
