Terrible random notes, made mistakes on tests, teaches you things you don't need to know. I ended up teaching myself everything from the text. AVOID!
He is a pretty funny teacher. Doesn't like stupid kids. Sometimes hard to follow, but if you study you should be okay.
He is alright, hates late people, tries to make it interesting.
makes the material interesting. uses lots of examples in class to solidify the material learned.
like teaching style, funny
BEST PROF. Ignore everyone else on here. Yes his notes are random but only because he is so clear you dont need to write anythign down! Read the text and go to class and it is an easy A. His tests are VERY easy! Long answer exactly what he does in class. Funny guy.
Light personality makes the learning easy and the class always flies by. He is very punctual and will never keep you late. Weekly assignments online and 2 tests is whats graded. The most fun class i've had
GREAT PROF! Anyone on here who has said otherwise is probably anti-social. He loves getting everyone involved in the class and makes the class enjoyable. If you come to class, take his notes, and do the EASY (90%+) weekly assignments worth 20% of your mark, you'll do well in the class! I highly recommend him!
Such a good prof really enjoyed going to class, made 8am classes more bearable. If you go to class and read the text it is easy to do well in his class.
Such a fair teacher, likes to have fun with his classmates. Clear examples, friends with all his students, one of the best professors I've ever had. Would definitely recommend for anybody wanting to take an economics class and actually take something out of it. 9.5/10 in my books
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. great proff, very clear, uses relevant examples to clarify points. He does not just teach the material, he asks students the right questions for them to work it out themselves. Very reasonable and fair proff, will be looking for him in the future.
GREAT PROF.
I really enjoyed his class. He was upbeat and got everyone involved. I had some good laughs in his class. listening to his lectures made it easy to do well on his tests! His examples were memorable so it was easy to remeber concepts. If you can get him as a prof! :)
Class is mandatory only because J is such a great prof. Both exams for the course I took were easy but his in-class questioning really put students on the spot which is uncomfortable when it happens to you but fun when it is someone else. Study ahead and impress him with some answers to help the class flow which can falter at times.
Great Prof Highly Recommended.
J was great!!! I did most of the studies out of the textbook on my own due to his accent and I got a pretty good mark i think. he is funny tho! recommended if you hate dry lectures!
engaging teacher
Engaging and enthusiastic. His tests are very hard in comaprison with other Econ 101 profs.(class avg on mid term 65%)other classes were over 80%.
AWESOME PROF! knows his stuff and teaches it very well. If you have any questions regarding economics he will answer it. His powerpoints are clear and to the point. Nothing on the exam is a surprise which he hasnt touched upon in class.
Very engaging, insists on students to join in the lecture and be part of examples. Handwrites all his notes on the board, but gives great examples to explain. If you want to go to class to be invisible, this is not the right class. Material can be learned without going, though.
Dr. Jahangir's a good prof, explains things very clearly, and is very witty & friendly to his students. He'll make fun of students, but it's all in good humour. His tests are harder than other ECON profs, but study and you'll be fine. If you're socially awkward though, don't take class with him. He puts everyone in class on the spot frequently.
His teaching style is a random stream of consciousness and he lacks any real organization. Follows the text somewhat but makes it more confusing sometimes with mathematical proofs. This will be my worst class this semester percentage wise (still should get an A-). I had a gpa of 3.96 last year and thought this would be an easy A but I was incorrect
Attendance isnt mandatory for his class, read the text & u'll be fine. Doesn't have any notes except PPT on BB. He tries to follow the syllabus, but just keep tabs on where he's at. (On our syllabus it said ch 1-8 for midterm, ended up being 1-4, for those who wont attend.) If u do go, he's very interactive with the class and is very funny.
Best Prof i have ever had. He has a great sense of humor and his notes are great. If you go to every class you will easily pass the course with the notes he provides.
Junaid is definitely one of the best profs I've had at Macewan, econ is generally dry stuff but he makes it so interesting and has a great sense of humor. Attendance isnt mandatory but you'll never want to miss his class! Not much professors talk to the students like a friend and bring up stories they can relate to but he does. Overall great prof!
Dr J's Class was amazing! Hes very engaging, quite funny and helped me spark a new love and interest for Economics. Great professor, fair marker. Extremely helpful with understanding the content. If J could be my prof for ever class during my entire university career id never miss a single class the whole 5 years im in Uni. Great prof.
Junaid is an incredible Econ teacher, I had him for Econ 101 my first semester of university, funny, smart, and it is easy to learn from him. You barely have to study for his exams, they are fair and challenge you enough without being impossible. His assignments are online which I enjoyed, will take another class with him! GREAT PROF!
THE BEST. If you're going to take ECON 101, take it with J! Lecture is fun and very helpful! I studied a lot because I wanted a good grade, but if you pay attention and go to class (which is fun anyway), you will have the best economics experience ever. Highly recommend this one!!
Great prof. Don't take if youre bad with accents because his can get a little hard to understand but otherwise just amazing! Weekly assignments and need to attend otherwise you'll fail. Really funny and likes to joke around.
Great prof! Makes the subject matter easy to learn and the lectures interesting. I highly recommend taking his class.
JJ is an amazing prof. He is super helpful and genuinely cares about his students. A bonus is that he's funny and really explains the course very well. I don't understand why people have a problem with his accent because you can clearly understand everything he says. I would definitely want him again for econ 102!
Rather unorganized and never remembers where we ended off in the last class. If you take offence easily, don't take ECON with J. Expect to be called out on to answer questions. Weekly assignments are insane for what they are worth (usually 70+ points each for 1% of the grade). Don't take this class if you struggle with math because it's key here.
Junaid Jahangir, is one of the reasons why I'm transferring to uofa. He is so rude to his students, and called me dumb while I was handing in my midterm.
I thoroughly enjoyed his teaching style. Yes he sometimes makes a jab at students, but it's clear he does it with the best intentions.
Junaid Jahangir do have a sense of humor for the way he teaching the class, but he has a heavy accent. His midterm is always try to confuse you and not that straight- forward and friendly. If you hope to get a high mark, please avoid his class, honestly! !
his exam is tough, hard marker.
Junaid is super nice! His tests aren't ridiculously tough or anything, but yes, you do need to know the information in detail in order to understand the exams. He wants to make sure that you truly KNOW your stuff! His accent is like that of a professor from a Harry Potter movie, which is pretty cool! Make sure to read the book AND take good notes!
You can tell he's passionate about the material which makes it interesting. Great teacher, but his exams are tough.
Junaid is the best Instructor I have had so far. He has a good sense of humour, and likes to include students in his jokes. He is very good at interacting with students through asking questions and using us in his class examples and analogies. He makes the material interesting by bringing it down to an every day level. Highly recommend him!
Doesn't follow textbook too much but you definitely need it to do some of the chapter questions he goes through and make sure you understand the questions as they are pretty much your notes for class. Will be some questions on test he only covers in class so you should attend. His lectures are really good though super easy to stay interested.
Junaid is a good professor! His powerpoint notes are mostly from the textbook (really helpful) however, you DO have to attend class because he asks questions on the exams from some of the material learned in lecture that isn't in the ppt notes. Exams are fair, but a bit difficult. If you study, you'll do fine! J is an awesome, and funny, prof :)
Junaid is a very good teacher that treats students like friends - which means he will be nice, but will also crack jokes if you show up late or say something wrong. Easy online assignments are heavily weighted, and the first midterm was very easy. The tests got progressively harder, but you have a good cushion. Show up and take good notes!
I loved that classes were spent going over examples, and that he spent the time to actually help students understand what they were doing. It did get confusing if you did not read the powerpoints or textbooks before class. Powerpoints were really long, and it took a lot of time to go through one class' worth. Overall, decent class.
Very good prof for econ !
He's a funny teacher who knows his stuff. His passion and knowledge on the subject (Economics) spreads onto you.
Don't buy the text book right away! Weekly online assignments, this site has an online version of the textbook in case you are tight on money. Online assignments are easy, lecture pass quickly. Tests are a bit tougher.
Great lectures, keeps your attention and interest. Good discussions, treats students like peers. Textbook is a must, exams come mostly from it.
He's funny but sometimes rude. But you will laugh your ass off in this class! Tests are short and difficult.... Ugh I would try to pick someone else but if not don't worry he's ok
This prof knows his stuff, but his lectures are all over the place and confusing. He engages the class but can be very rude. His tests are extremely hard and he gives no review.
Junaid makes his class fun. He cracks jokes during lectures and ask questions to make the students participates during class discussion. He explains well and if you have questions he's there to help. When it comes to exams, his exams gets tougher and tougher. Final exam is hard! His midterm and quiz 1 are ok if you study his lectures.
J is great, in my last year of university and I think he's the best prof I ever had. Go to class, participate, and you'll pass. This course really tied a lot of my classes together so that I finally understood what was happening. I wasn't expecting much from this course and J exceeded any expectations I had.
Jahangir is tough, but he wants to get you thinking. He doesn't teach you for the intention of letting you get an easy A, he wants to challenge you. His lectures are very enjoyable and definitely necessary if you want to pass. His exams are passable if you show you really put the effort in. He's willing to go slow to make sure everyone understands
on the first day of the sem I thought this wasn't going to be the class for me, but i decided to go to one more class and after that class I started looking forward to my Tuesday evenings i absolutely loved econ101 ! his lectures were so interesting and so much fun. if you do miss a class its NOT okay! but for me i enjoyed going to his class
He uses students in his class as names for people in examples and asks them questions a lot of the time to keep students engaged, but is also very respectful of people with anxiety who do not like that sort of thing. More often than not he makes jokes and pokes fun at students respectfully and admirably so if you like that kind of person take his
His tests are tough. He barely writes anything on the board and doesn't have any presentations. It is hard to follow always as you have to just listen to him lecture and write your own notes. It is not an easy A.
one of the most realistic prof for Economics, he doesn't do notes that often on the board but what ever he explains during the class relates to real world which helps clear your point of view. He is hilarious and pretty straight forward. You take your notes and he help you with some hints. for exam prep he mentions you to study for. will recommen
Says that exams are hard, but dont be afraid. Show up to class and he will prepare you well for the exam. Students that put in the effort will succeed. Jay is inspirational and knowledgable. He understands being a student and is supportive. Don't need textbook. We do textbook questions in class so other students read the questions.
Do the weekly assignments to pass his midterms
Attending class is mandatory unless you can memorize the text book and all of the formulas. He gives great examples for situations and engages the class. Expect weekly homework but he doesn't expect you to know more than what he lectures.
As long as you show up for every single one of your classes (like any other course practically) and pay attention, you will be fine. The textbook was good for some extra reading, but he only specifies what you need to know during class so the textbook reading isn't required. He is a fast talker, so make sure you're either a fast writer/typer.
Such an easy prof. Attendance is a must though as he does not provide lecture slides or does barely any writing on the boards. Basically dictates his notes and write EVERYTHING he says down as you can be tested on it and he does not test you on anything he hasn't covered in the book. All in all, you can easily get an A in his class.
He is amazing and puts economics in such a good perspective. Come to class and participate in discussions, write notes on what he says and do practice questions in class with him and you can easily pass the course. He clearly tells you what to study for his exams and if you pay attention he will emphasize important things. i really enjoyed him.
Economics is extremely boring to me and Junaid made it actually enjoyable to come to class. He was great at putting things into the simplest terms and always made his expectations for exams and assignments very clear.
He may seem funny and easy going at first but his true colors will show. He calls on people in class to answer questions whether or not their hand was raised. He makes you come to the board to do work as well and he has a very short temper.
Junaid is very organized and very knowledgable on the topics he teaches. He will make you work for you mark, with that being said he is a solid prof. Go to lectures and pay attention, bring your text, he is not sympathetic to those who miss homework, nor is he sympathetic if he feels you should know something and you do not know it. Professional.
If u first language is not english, do not take this class. He will not write anything on the blackboard and speak so fast, also he likes tell a lot of stories in the class, during the midterm it will be in test.
Although I found that Junaid could be funny, and he seems to know his material quite well, overall his condescending and unorganized manner made it more of a chore to come to his class. I think he should take some workshops in teaching to improve his craft, he seemed to mask his nervousness with rudeness and hostility towards students.
Super awesome prof! Speaks intellectually but keeps the content from being dry and boring. Really enjoyed his lectures and he made sure you were captivated and paying attention to the class. Excellent examples you can grasp. He made 3 hours fly by. I truly hope to have him teach me in other courses in the future real soon. 10/10 would prof again :)
I definitely regret taking a class with him. He basically talks to himself and tells so many stories that are off track of the subject. He doesn't give any notes and doesn't have any slides made for us to study from. Be ready to listen carefully and try to keep up with him. I wouldn't recommend taking a course with him.
Uses Mindtap which lets you do questions many times and submit your highest. Worth the $90+. Tough midterm 2. You have to be organized to get the points he's trying to teach in lectures. He teaches economics in a way a non-business student would understand and be interested in.
Pretty engaging prof. He was a bit quiet the first day, but right off the bat, I enjoyed his lectures. It's hard to skip his class because you do miss out on a lot of material and would have to run through the text yourself. He occasionally cracked out jokes and was lighthearted for all the lectures. He likes participation, but it is not mandatory
I love the way Dr. J teaches he is very much about interaction and giving you fun memorable examples for what could be considered boring and dry. He is very lecture heavy though, so you better be prepared to stay focused and write notes. His tests are fairly easy, and makes you want to go to class!
I hated econ 101. Junaid made econ 102 very interesting. Prof likes to joke. He will only pick on students he becomes close to, so class participation is not mandatory. He will give details of in-class examples in exams so do show up to class.
Junaid is AWESOME!! He explains so much in class and makes sure everyone understands. The way he takes time to explain things and interacts with the class makes it easy to pay attention. I would recommend this prof to all students!
He is an alright prof. There is powerpoint notes avaliable but during his lectures, he does not use them, it is just him speaking. You have to keep up in the class and do the online assignments and study really hard for the exams. The exams are tough!!
Makes the lectures interesting by using metaphors to help with concepts. In class he speaks and does examples with no slides, however slides were available online. Overall make the class interesting and was a fair grader
the best
Junaid is the best Prof I've ever had.
I've had Junaid for three or four courses now and I have to say he's probably my favourite prof that I have had at MacEwan. Attendance is not mandatory for his lectures but I found them truly enjoyable and learned a lot through his teaching methods. I would definitely recommend taking one of his courses if you can.
If you show up to class you will learn everything you need to know. He is very funny and tells lots of stories to make class fun. uses many examples, overall great prof and person
Junaid is a pretty good teacher. He really likes the class to participate in everything so I found that got pretty annoying sometimes, just because it dragged the class a bit for me. But he knows his stuff and you can tell he really cares about the subject.
He's pretty easy going Very knowledgeable Keeps your attention
The way he structures his class just is not for me. There are no powerpoints and all he does is talk, he writes some stuff on the board but unless you can keep up with how fast he talks it's basically meaningless. He talks very very fast and I find his accent hard to understand. He definitely made this course harder than it needed to be.
J is a great guy, he's really funny which makes going to class more bearable. His teaching style personally isn't for me, but if you can learn just by listening to someone talk then this is the prof for you but he posts no notes online so listen good. His midterms are only 3 questions worth 30% of your mark, which sucks.
Fast-paced class with no hope for laggards and the shiftless. Lectures were quite a scene as the math was done at a break-neck speeds and chances to ask questions were slim to none. Demands a lot from the class as he is very gregarious. Textbook and key-codes are a must so be ready to shell out some considerable cash. Take if you are experienced.
Lecture is funny. Study what he tell you in class you will do well on his class
Good Prof, but make sure you come to class. All exams are based directly off his lectures as well as he has specific stories he tests you on that are not in the power points. Funny Prof, would recommend.
My fav prof to date. His lectures are very involved, he's passionate and uses lots of real life experiences to explain points. Must attend class, does not post notes online. My only critique is that I found his exams really difficult. I attended, studied and participated in discussions and still struggled through exams. Still loved him though.
He's an AMAZING professor. Very clear lectures, very good at explaining concepts. His exams are hard especially if you have never taken economics before. I would recommend to study well before. He is a great guy that captures your attention and very well-versed in the subject. Definitely would recommend!
i would say participation is key for his class, his class is enjoyable he is very funny and engages the class in discussion so you will not be bored. Very good prof, explains everything very clearly with examples easy to follow and remember.
Lectures were never boring with him, I absolutely had fun in his class. His explanations were on point and were very useful in understanding the topics. He also made the course material relevant. Make sure to take note of his additional stories and info, you'll be needing those.
If you go to class and listen carefully you'll do well on exams! He's super straight forward and easy to access outside of class
Great teacher. Hands down the best that I had that semester. Highly recommend taking as much notes as possible and doing the practice exams. Final mark was based on 80% test and 20% homework. The homework was easy marks. Don't rely on homework for the tests, he provides sample tests that have overlap with actual tests.
Junaid is an amazing professor who makes Econ102 fun. His lectures and side notes are evident in his exams so attendance is key if you want to ace his tests.
Passionate prof who knows his stuff. The problem is he assumes everyone else does, too. He'll go through a math question assuming we know how to do it, but he hasn't shown us one example yet. Homework is average, no need for the text, just need the powerpoint which is made by the text author anyways. Exams are HARD (class avg were 66% & 67%...).
Solid choice for an intro econ course, as long as you read the material, do homework, and show up to class you should do fine.
always made lectures fun, but went a little too fast. its hard to keep up with him as he doesn't write anything down. exams are based off every story and video he shows in class so if you miss you better hope you have a friend taking good notes. homework is an easy mark.
Excellent lecturer. Has fun with the class as a whole and tries to engage the entire class with his story times. you had better be good at taking notes and studying off of those notes for the exams. the class I took was an evening class that ended at nine, but I could have listened to him lecture until midnight. That is how interesting his class is
Best econ prof hands down! Show up to class and type everything he says, his exams have a lot of the same questions from the practice exams. He explains concepts that are really easy to grasp. He tells you what written questions are on the exam. Super easy A!
Best econ prof hands down! Show up to class and type everything he says, his exams have a lot of the same questions from the practice exams. He explains concepts that are really easy to grasp. He tells you what written questions are on the exam. Super easy A!!
Doesn't go off textbook, often contradicts what it's says, but online assignments are mandatory (his lectures notes don't help.) Can ONLY study off the (useless) notes he gives out. If you follow the textbook and he disagrees, then looks like you're wrong! You can never be prepared enough his for tests as he will test on material he never covers.
Junaid is the best economic professor I've had at MacEwan. The course itself is very interesting but he makes it more enjoyable and interactive. His exams reflect what he teaches in class and he is more than happy and willing to help if we need clarification with the topics we cover. Overall, he is a brilliant professor 100%
Decent prof, but makes the course harder than it needs to be. Purposely changes terms to his own words and puts it on his exams, so if you don't show up to class... well good luck. A little bit rude at times, funny here and there. Overall would probably take another teacher for a bit of an easier time.
BEST PROF EVER, as you won't regret having him as your prof. Had him for Econ 102 and Econ 281, and probably might choose him again for future economic course. Just make sure you write down everything he writes on the board where majority of the exam questions are from his exam practice, and notes taken in class. No quizzes nor project
He has really good lectures, but his exams are very hard. Not anything similar to the sample midterm or the practice questions. I went in to exam understanding all the theory and arithmetic, and still had no idea how to do the questions.
I didn't like his lectures at all, they were very auditory and little writing or reading. His first exam was super hard, but the rest were a little easier. Online assignments are helpful for learning how to do calculations. Final was 50 MC questions all math based, but were really easy cause of the practice from the online assignments.
No text required. Easy exams based on assignments. Enjoyable and an easy class.
Textbook is not required but he provides textbook questions to review for chapter quizzes. If you review the quizzes, practice exams, and textbook questions, you basically wrote 80% of the midterm/final. His teaching style is very straight forward and he relates course content to current events (but doesn't test you on it so dw)
He was a great prof, and had some funny lectures. He also remembers students names. His exams often included stuff he'd say during lectures and were very similar to his practice exams. If you show up to class you'll do very well.
Dr. Jahangir is a nice professor. However, his lectures were extremely boring, and most of the time it was hard to follow and comprehend him. Although the book was not required, I encourage anyone to have it ready, as there is a lot of reading and self-studying in order to understand better the material.
Great professor. Caring, nice, wants to see you do good. However, quizzes are 30 questions each for 1 chapter (very test heavy for no reason), 13 quizzes, 1 midterm and a final. Overall wasn't bad, however he definitely made econ 101 much more difficult than it needed to be.
Great prof! Keeps his lectures short and informative. I was part of his online class and for each chapter we had to do we had to watch around 4-7 videos (10-20 minutes) before each quiz. Honestly wasn't that bad. I find his lectures interesting and don't give dull boring lectures.
Great prof, explains concepts very well. There were weekly quizzes for each chapter that were a good level of difficulty for online tests and really helped prepare for the midterm. He'll answer all your questions and is clear about what you will be tested on. Read the slides, watch his videos, attend his weekly live class and you'll do well.
He's an accomodating professor and will answer your questions directly during office hours. I suggest you know how to do your math because he explains it very fast. I also would recommend watching some youtube videos if you don't understand the concepts of what he's trying to teach, take notes on what he's saying and review the slides.
Great prof! He is very accomodating and keeps his lectures straight to the point, if you attend his live lectures you'll be more than prepared for the quizzes, however, he is very test-heavy (30 question tests) but is made up for as about 20/30 questions are easy in difficulty.
Jay was amazing, I had it online and would do it again. A very easy and kind person. I used the textbook a lot and there are weekly quizzes but overall good class to take.
J was really great for Econ, he made the lectures interesting and easy to understand. Some of the quiz questions were a little difficult, but overall he was really reasonable for what he was expecting and was always available for help when needed
Outstanding professor. Econ 281 is probably the hardest course I have taken in university, not because of the professor, but just because of the material itself (lots of math). I would not have passed the class if it were not for Junaid. He is funny, involves students in his class, and explains the material well.
Junaid is the best professor in the Macewn University. He gives so many examples from Disney to explain concepts. You will never regret if you take his class.
Junaid or Jay is the best professor in this University. He gives so many examples from Disney to explain concepts. You should tak this professor 100%
He made understanding economics simple. His lectures were interesting and easy to understand. He gives you the best chance of achieving highest grades going to midterms and finals. Don't miss tons of classes, he uses specific info from lectures in tests. He's pretty funny as well, I would defs take another class with him.
Jay goes above and beyond to make his classes a fun place to be, but also a quality learning experience. He not only teaches us the course content but practical applications in the real world as well. If you struggle with math I would not recommend taking him, or econ in general but honestly I dont have enough good things to say about this prof.
If you're going to take any econ class take it with him. He will tell you what the textbook says but he goes further to connect ideas with present day examples. His lectures were always interesting and engaging. The textbook isn't required. I would say to go to class often because he always gives examples that will be on the midterms/finals.
Fav Prof!
The GOAT! Hoping I could take his class again. He was very engaging and I loved coming to his classes.
Applied all course material to real life. Explained everything in depth and made it interesting. Gave away all midterm and final details, you just have to show up. Asks for participation, but the questions he asks aren't hard. I adored this class and would take it again in a second. Amazing Prof and so helpful.
Junaid's ECON101 is a must-take. His lectures are engaging, and he provides great real-world examples. The textbook isn't required, but attending class is key. I found Unstuck ai super helpful for studying - saved me time compared to just using the textbook.
Jay's class made me interested in topics I consider boring. Attendance matters if you want to do well on exams. His exams can be hard. he will ask specific details from a random thing he said in class. Put the effort in, and you will do great in his class. Can be scary if youre on his bad side. Very good at explaining and responds fast to emails.
I almost changed to a econ major because of him and I will be looking to take classes he teaches in the future. 10/10 all my friends with other profs complain about econ 101 but I love coming to class. But yes you do have to come to class. he did say at the start of the semester you will not need the textbook and he was right I opened it two times.
Very engaging and entertaining Prof that makes you want to attend lectures! While following the curriculum he also criticizes + gives you interesting perspectives on economics. Very straightforward with what his expectations are and while attendance isnt mandatory, you need to show up in order to pass his midterm and final exam! lots of fun videos
Ngl this was the best course with best professor I've taken until now. He made lectures very engaging because of which I was able to attend almost ALL the lectures (and I'm the person who's very likely to skip classes). Midterms and final were solely based on lectures so if you miss them or don't make good notes, you are not gonna do well at all.
His class relied solely on tests, with the midterm and final exams worth 30% and 40%, respectively, and the exams only had 6 questions. I also found that he tended to breeze through explanations for the math and seemed annoyed when someone didn't immediately understand and needed him to slow down or expand on what he was teaching.
Junaid Jahangir was a wonderful professor to have! He was very engaging with his class, tended to use Disney references as analogies, and made it clear on the first day that his exams would be based on his in-class lectures. He was dedicated to making sure that all of his students passed and did well and was always willing to answer questions.
You definitely need to show up to class and write down what he says otherwise you won't be able to do as well on the exams. Quiz's were all online and open book with 2 chances, so 30% of the class is free grades. Smart and well-intentioned, but I found his bias slightly annoying as he made sure he criticized the textbook in every unit.
Prof Jahangir is an excellent teacher. He takes the time to get to know the students & encourages class participation, which really facilitates learning the material. There were quizzes throughout the semester that were easy to pass to encourage you to read the textbook & stay up-to-date with the material. Def recommend; you will learn a lot!
Had clear and understandable expectations and made the class much more engaging. Quizzes for every chapter that you can breeze through if you learnt the material. Accesible outside class and is clear when answering questions. Great Prof!
Nothing to say about him, DO NOT TAKE HIM.
Interacts with students & asks questions at beginning of class to get everyone on same page. Super funny & charming, makes sure everyone understands. Teaches both the textbook & real life. Weekly quizzes on textbook, midterm & final based on lectures. Genuinely liked this class and am taking another with him because he was that good. Great prof!
Junaid is the goat. Class is fairly easy-- 30% open book assignments, 30% midterms, and 40% final. DO NOT TAKE THIS COURSE IF YOU SKIP LECTURES. All exam material is based off of stuff he talks about in class, and is easy if you pay attention; if you don't attend class, you're screwed.
The best prof I have ever had. Take him if you can, makes econ easily understandable, attendance isn't mandatory but you won't pass if you don't go, he teaches his own way and class material is the tests, no textbook info at all. Interact with him, it felt like highschool again! Truly the best, shoutout jay!!
for me he is very very hard to understand. He was just reviewing stuff from 100 level microeconomics but someone managed to confuse me on the course I finished with a 97 on. He overcomplacts things and doesn't really explain stuff well. Like him as a person though, seemed very friendly and likeable.
Honestly one of the best profs I've had so far. Took 101 with him too and it is a breeze. As long as you don't skip you'll do really well in his classes. The way he teaches 102 and 101 is different from the textbook and other profs so beware. Also make sure to go to review classes bc he literally tells you what's on the tests.
