Great teacher. Easy GE class if you want to fulfill the requirement! its 100 or something like that ;0
Great teacher, knows her stuff. Cares a lot about students and passing them. gives study guides for all exams. No homework, just lectures leading up to tests.
Trudel was wonderful, very understanding and sweet woman. She is all about 'Merica & can go on patriotic rants during lecture. I didn't even buy the book and got an A. Just go to class take good notes & you should be fine.We had SO many extra credit opportunities & she grades fairly. She is so passionate, about PSCI & her students. TAKE HER CLASS!
She is amazing! Very passionate about the class and the hw is not bad at all, plus when she does test reviews she gives you 20 multiple choice questions & answers that will be on on the test same for the final. I recommend her, she is great!
She is very helpful! She drops the lowest test grade, not including midterm and final. Gives you 20+ questions and answers that are on the test. Gives out extra credit points ALL the time. TAKE HER
She is a very enthusiastic teacher that is willing to help you at any time. The tests she gives you are very long, otherwise the class isn't too bad.
She is an excellent prof! there is a lot of work, but it's really doable. She's very understanding, and very helpful with students. She provides many opportunities to gain participation points, and extra credit.
She is really passionate about her subject and loves interacting with students. She does not post powerpoints, so it's really helpful to go to class. She does reviews before exams and GIVES YOU the answers. Prof Trudel might seem a little strict at first, but she's a sweetheart and will work with you if you have any issues. Definitely recommend!
Prof Trudel is very passionate and caring of her students. She wants to see you pass. Her class was easy, but you are still learning. I recommend her to everyone.
Overall, a good teacher. A bit unorganized from time to time, but always willing to help her students. She gave me a B+ with an 89.4%, so you really have to "earn" your grade. Her tests are hard and don't cover chapter material, and the study guides will give you a hand cramp by the time you're finished with them.
Professor Trudel is amazing, Gives you study guides before each test ( basically 20 free answers). We only had 1 maj. paper 4 pgs and a legislative assignment report. She is very understanding & approachable. Her lectures are a bit long & dry at times, but useful. She's big on attendance and will give ec to students who attend regularly! Take her!
I've taken Psci twice before and dropped it because it is my worst subject EVER but she made it so easy. Very simple instructions, minimal work, and straight-to-the-point exams. Her teaching style and study guides make learning the material a cake walk. I never thought I'd learn so much in a required political science class! Take her, she's awesome
Her lectures are long and boring. She typically goes on a tangent, but you mus attend class to receive the notes because she does not post the powerpoints online. She gives study guides for tests and if you study from that you'll be set for the tests.
Really great, and nice professor. She is very patriotic, and is passionate about the subject. Gives out 3 tests, and drops the lowest score, and a final. There is also a paper and an assignment, but both are very easy. The lectures are meh, only because it is material that everyone has heard before in high school. But, she is an awesome lady.
She is so sweet and always willing to help you. It's pretty easy to pass. She gives 3 tests and one final but she allows you to drop your lowest scores within the three tests. Her lectures are long, but not mandatory &gives out test questions. At the study review before each test she gives you 20 questions on the test. There are 70 test questions.
Prof. Trudel is a great teacher, she gives you the answers for the full in the blank part of the test and gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. She also drops the lowest test grade which is very helpful. The study guides are very helpful in preparing for exams.
Professor Trudel is a really good professor, she is there for you if you need the help. She also does give you study guides for the tests AND 20 questions on the exams are always given the week before the test! Overall she is a great professor, though the class is a bit challenging.
This professor gives many opportunities for one to pass, it's as simple as just doing your work, however multiple extra credit opportunities are provided for those who need it. Before each test, class time is dedicated to a study session and she even provides a study guide, unlike many other professors, and they actually help.
Class is easy but if you're looking to stay awake during class then don't take this class. Her voice puts people to sleep occasionally. Tests are kinda challenging since she does reviews but they have close to nothing to do with the actual test.
She is a nice professor who wants you to succeed but her tests are really hard. I did every study guide, made flashcards, and memorized them all only to get an 82% on the exam! She takes attendance every day too so if you show up and do your work, it's an easy B. Her voice will put you to sleep though, the class is very boring.
She gives you study guides for credit. Before the day of the test, she gives you twenty answers to the exam. There are opportunities for extra credit. She is a fair grader and I very much recommend her. She is also eager to help.
Always have coffee before this class, she is a bore. She can also be very opinionated, almost to the point of indoctrination. She is nice though, and the class isn't hard as long as you do the study guide from the book, not the internet, that's where she gets her questions. She does give participation but it's easy to get and overflows into e.c.
Professor Trudel is the sweetest thing ever! You can tell she cares about what she teaches and most importantly cares for her students and their success in the course. I couldn't have done it without all the support she provides, because she just cares that much! Tests can be tricky with the wording, but seek help she is more than willing to help!
Great teacher! She makes politics fun and so relevant to everyday life. She loves what she does, cares about her students, and is very fair to all. Class is doable-1 paper, 4 tests, no homework except the study guides. She gives you 20 answers to the questions on the tests. Also her lecture notes have some of the answers to study guide. Do take!!!
Professor Trudel is a fantastic teacher! I recommend taking her if you have the chance. One of my favorite classes so far at Cal State San Marcos.
Great teacher. She deffinitly knows her stuff and understands the Constitution and American politics. Very clear and caring! The homework and tests are not difficult. Just study a little... Its good to find a teacher that is passionate about this subject! Makes it very interesting! Also, she doesn't pick sides politically! which is hard to find!
I was disappointed throughout the semester because I was really hoping to enjoy her class. Points are easy to get and the only thing that may be difficult to get full credit on are the tests. However, class took 10 minutes to start because she likes to be very redundant and repetitive about irrelevant stuff, even throughout lecture.
I really enjoy being in her class for Spring 2017. Take notes during the lecture to help you on the study guide. Study a lot of her Test since it is tricky. Drop the lowest Test score and one paper to write during the semester. She is really nice and helpful when going to her office hours. There are study guides for the Test to study. A lot of work
Study guides for all her tests & she does a test review the class before you take the test. make sure you go to those cuz she gives 20 questions and their answers thats going to be on the test. I would say attendance is mandatory cuz she gives out participation points. she tells u what events to go to for extra credit!
Never been a fan of PSCI, however, I did enjoy her class. Only homework that we had to do was her study guides and one paper, study guide were long but she gave you plenty of time to do it and it had tons of useful information. The paper was very easy, got a 100%. Tests were difficult for me, but I know a lot of peers in my class did well.
She is so delightful! She really cares about her students. show up to class its not a bad time. you will do great
Professor Trudel is endearing and kind, and she is passionate about political science. Most of her class time is spent rambling on tangents, so make sure to complete the study guide and you are set. Just complete all the assignments and you should have no problem attaining an A. Go to her office hours, have her get to know you, and you're good!
Trudel is a GREAT teacher. She truly wants her students to learn and pass the class. Points are easy and if you put in a very small amount of work you will get an A. She is kind, passionate about government, and always uplifting. Lectures can be boring and she says um every 2 minutes but you get used to it. TAKE HER CLASS
Was an okay class. Didn't learn much in class due to the fact that she goes off topic often but if you read the textbook you'll learn a lot. Easy tests and 1 paper.
Outstanding teacher. She gave great feedback and was always receptive to questions about the course material.
Professor Trudel has been my best teacher so far. She gets a little sidetracked in the beginning of the class but has amazing lectures. She truly cares for her students success and wants nothing but for you to understand the material. The book is NOT NECESSARY. She is also very fair in her grading and will add points to each test. Take her.
Trudel has to be one of my favorite professors so far; she is so sweet and caring and makes class very enjoyable. If there is something you don't understand she will happily talk with you until you feel confident on the topic. She works hard to treat her students with respect and maturity.
Does not lecture the material, lectures a few points from the slides and then goes on tangents about things that don't relate to the material. You will wind up teaching yourself material even if you attend every class. Had to have her fix my paper grade and she told me to my face she graded papers inconsistently. Did not learn anything in her class
This class is an easy A if you put in the work and understand the material. Attendance isnt mandatory, but she gives out points for participation randomly. Going to class isnt necessary if you get someone to give you the notes. She cares about her students and is sweet, but she goes on long tangents about unrelated stuff during her lectures.
Since her class is 120 students, she does sign ins instead of calling names. However, the sign ins are at random, so if you do not show up a day she makes students sign in, you will not get participation points. She always digresses about herself, which was annoying and wastes time during class. All her notes are in class and not online
Great professor!
Didnt buy the assigned textbook and still got an A. 3 exams drops the lowest one. The 3 Exams are not cumulative. No quizzes. Make sure to do all the study guides on time, go to class to get the attendance points. Not necessary to go to class but go to get points. Do the extra credit at the end and you should be more than fine. Got an A.
Amazing professor. Cares about the subject and about students success. Makes class easy to pass. Does not assign any homework just three study guides which she gives you a month to complete. Easy class to pass. Would highly recommend. Has a 10 page action report which she grades leniently on. Definitely do the extra credit she offers. Exams are ez
Great, easy & manageable class. Would def recommend to fulfill ge. 1 paper, 3 study guides (gives a month to do each), 3 exams drops one. Very easy as long as you put in the work, dont procrastinate, go to class or have someone send you the notes and you should be good. Do the extra credit at the end which should help you get an A. I got an A.
Shes really nice once you get to know her. But if you are acting up in class she is one to call you out in front of everyone. She has a huge passion for the topic which makes the subject more bearable. A good choice for a GE requirement.
She does the absolute most and will treat you like you're in high school. She will call you out for leaving class, for being on your phone, she'll follow you outside of class to tell you you're not allowed to use your phone. She doesn't teach, just goes on a rant about things that have nothing to do with the class. Easy A, but not worth taking.
Professor Trudel is a great choice, very passionate for the subject and tends to go on tangents during lecture. She randomly takes attendance and will award points/participation form there. Can be an easy A if you do what is asked. I found her funny at times, overall enjoyed her class and gives many opportunities for EC, very organized for COVID.
Her lectures are not really worth going to for anything other than participation points. She is kinda all of the place but also very caring. If you do the study guide you will do good on the tests. I suggest taking her because she makes you laugh a lot and it is pretty easy.
Great class, the professor is really interested in helping students understand the learning material as long as you put in the effort. Attendance is sort of mandatory because showing up gets you points and the lectures are explained, so don't miss at all unless you have to.
Very helpful. Replies to emails quickly. 2 exams and the final. Drops one of the exams. Tests were hard, you have to actually understand the material. However, she does reviews before the exams and gives out answers and offers a lot of extra credit!
Easy and informative class, passionate professor. Do the study guides, show up to class for your participation points/extra credit, and take the three multiple choice exams. Lowest exam score is dropped. The political discourse project is pretty undemanding and surprisingly interesting. If you're not a polisci major, take this class for ur GE reqs.
Very easy class to pass. Have to read one textbook chapter each week, can find textbook online. Total of 3 study guides & 3 exams, offers extra credit. Can pass without fully reading each chapter, can pass w/ only doing the study guide. 2 quizzes per unit (3). Everything is well outlined. However, doesn't use email.
I took her online class, for GE requierment. She uses study guides, quizzes and small reflection for extra credit. Super easy quizzes and she takes highest score out of unlimited chances. She gave out 1 report 3-4 pages long. 3 exams and drops the lowest one. Overall, super easy class, caring teacher ! Wish i could have met her in person!
Genuine professor and can email at anytime. I had her due to the pandemic it was an online course and I liked it. The course was divided into units so there was always 2 quizzes and an optional extra credit every month so there was not much homework because you can knock those 3 assignments out of the way. The study guide for quizzes are useful!!!
Professor Trudels class was great. I took her class online and it was the easiest class I took this semester. Most everything was graded on completion except for the tests and the tests were open books. She answers emails very quickly and is able to help whenever you need her. She really cares about the success of her students.
Prof. Trudel is a literal sweetheart. You can tell she really cares about her students success. No homework besides reading the textbook. 3 non-timed exams are all open book because theyre all based out of the textbook. One 2-3 page paper thats really easy. She gives extra credit with exam study guides, mini quizzes for comprehension, etc.
Easy class and you don't have to buy the textbook, you can answer everything with the lecture notes that are provided.
I can't sing higher praises for this professor. She is a literal SWEETHEART!! This class is so manageable and you can work at your own pace. I wish more professors were as understanding, flexible, and kind as her. I genuinely learned so much and didn't feel overwhelmed by the work load! Tests are open note as well.
This is one of the easiest class I've had so far. She is super organized and set her expectations very clearly so you'll never feel like you're bombarded out of nowhere. There are 3 exams but one is drop, they are very easy and is open book. Also, she gives the sweetest feedback!!
This was an easy class overall. The assignments are posted in advance so you have a month to do each unit. There are three units for a semester and there is always an extra credit opportunity. The grade is made up of tests and there are three and the lowest one is dropped. You have to make your own study guide but that is easy and is worth points.
There are 4 major deadlines that include the study guide ,2 quizes that you are allowed to retake until you get 100 and the test. 1 project that is very easy and it's explained in detail how to do it. Professor is very caring and understanding. Very easy to get a good grade in this class.
She is the best!! She is very understanding and genuinely cares about her students. Her class was structured well and only consisted of 3 exams that were easy. I like that she treated me like a person and cared about my grade too. I wish all professors were like her.
Very understanding and caring professor. Her class was super easy. She would give extra credit and participation points just for showing up some days and made sure nobody felt scared or nervous to participate. Tests were taken as a class which helped a lot. Would definitely recommend her if PSCI 100 is a requirement for you.
Professor Trudel is such a caring professor and truly respects all of her students, this semester was her first semester back since covid and was extremely lenient. She accepted late work and all of our tests were taken in one big groups. She did mention that she would be stricter this coming
SWEETEST LADY EVER! honestly, the class is kind of a joke but she is so genuine and loves the fact that we as students even show up to class. the course work is minimal and she is so understanding of everyone. her lectures are repetitive and she doesn't like food in class and will call you out for it but overall super easy class and easygoing.
Such a sweet and caring lady, she gives students every opportunity to succeed. There are 3 exams and no final so your grade is based on few things. 1 short research paper and can receive extra credit for showing up to class. You can tell she loves her job and cares about the subject. Take this professor!!
Professor Trudel is such an encouraging professor, always willing to point out the best in students. I wished I heard more of my classmate's projects on current issues though. A project report was a great way to apply some material and learn how to be informed. The learning experience becomes more invigorating with more contribution.
Your grade is based on study guides, 2 essays, and test which are extremely easy. Gives out extra credit for just showing up to her class. She is very passionate and comprehending with her students and job. Just show up and do the work and you will be just fine. I definitely recommend her!
Prof. Trudel is amazing! She's really sweet and really wanted her students to pass her class. The fall semester of 2022 was her first time back on campus so she was really lenient in my class. You have a paper due for the class but it's a really easy topic. Overall, she is really flexible and willing to work with students.
Easy class! Tends to get off topic
The class was lecture-heavy, but it is not too bad. She tends to get very off-topic. Attendance was only taken on specific days. The only assignments were a short essay and a review for every unit (3 total units). She truly wants her students to pass the class and will work with you if you work with her.
Saddly, professor trudel was a major let down. I took her class in the spring semester of 2023. I dont want to bore you with an extensive list of reasons to not take professor trudel. So I will just give you 3 that come to mind. 1:Never publishes any work online. 2:Starte lectures 10-15 minutes late everyday. 3:Textbook teaches more than her.
Professor Trudel is super nice and a good teacher. She tends to get off-topic quite often which can make lectures very boring. The class is super easy and there isn't much homework.
This professor is super caring and will do her best to help you succeed. There were not that many papers, and the tests were easy as long as you paid attention somewhat in class.
Class is very easy to pass as long as you attend lectures and/or read textbook. She provides all answers that will be on tests. Classes are lecture heavy and she does tend to get off topic once in a while but overall she goes over lots of material. She is very passionate about what she teaches and is a goof professor. Participation points available
She is such an amazing professor! Her class is very easy to pass. Attendance is not mandatory but going to class is important because her lectures are the answers to the tests and she does not post anything on Canvas. The assignments that she gives are very manageable and she also offers extra credit. Definitely recommend taking her class :)
She is very understanding and easy when it goes to grading. The class is all paper and no papers/assignments online. If she loses your paper she will not take accountability and blame you for it. The review days before test is very helpful to the actual test.
She doesn't rely on technology so everything is on paper. Sometimes she will randomly give points so it is good to show up. There are only 3 exams and they follow the same format every time of making a study guide with a small essay and a multiple choice. She has reviews the class before the exam and truly it helps.
Prof Trudel is very caring and passionate. The lectures are boring and often only go through 3-4 slides in a class. Makes you hand write study guides which was unnecessary and tedious. Exams are fairly easy and devotes a whole class to review each unit. Did not use the book, would recommend google for study guides. Easy A, just won't learn much.
Great professor, she really cares about her students and believes in them. As long as you apply yourself and show up to class, she will work with you to succeed in her class. Great lecture, very intelligent and sweet woman.
Prof. Trudel's class isn't the hardest if you put in the time to review before the tests. She gives a lot of answers during class and gives out study guides before exam. One-on-one she is a super caring and understanding person. However, her lectures do tend to get a bit boring and she can go a little off topic at times but it's not too bad.
Professor Trudel truly cares for her students. The class is lecture heavy and requires you to keep up to date on reading through the textbook. Overall, the class is a bit tough but Trudel is a great Professor.
Professor Trudel is probably the worst professor I've ever had she's so passive aggressive, and her exams are a bit confusing. I understand how she's trying to teach the class, but it's just not working overall I would not recommend this class at all
Professor Trudel is friendly and fair with grading and teaching. She occasionally goes off on tangents during lectures, but they fit the course. Her exams and study guides are easy, essays only need half a page, and missing classes doesn't have serious consequences as long as you can manage the content independently.
Very understanding professor however, often went on tangents about current politics taking ~20 minutes of class time, made it hard to figure out what was going on and skipping some material. Gives out extra credit for attendance. Grade is based on study guides and 4 exams for the most part, which are fairly easy. Hard to find content in canvas.
Very easy class, does go on tangents but just show up its only 50 minutes. Do the study guide, it is the same of half the questions on exams. The paper is easy and she is very flexible and easy to talk to. Definitely an easy A for anyone needing this GE. If you miss its no big deal honestly.
