Easy. Lets you take cheat sheets to testing center.
I have never laughed so hard in my life, awesome teacher
very energentic, but makes fun of paul matter
Very helpful and makes sure you know concepts before moving on
Hard subject but a great teacher to learn from

This teacher kicks ass. She reminds me of Jackie Chan. Far superior to many teachers.
She is very nice and energetic. Her intensity is very impressive.
Take her class.
Funny teacher tells jokes to lighten the mood..explains things clearly even though it is sometimes hard to understand her. Lets you have a cheat sheet for quizzes and tests. Just go to class and do the study guides and you'll be fine.
she is really funny. if you go to class you'll do just fine. the material is really easy, but she grades kind of hard.
great teacher. teaches thoroughly, funny, and makes class easy!!
Take this class. Had her at 8 in the morning and she was always very engergetic. Yes you have to go to class everyday to hand in homework and take quizes but she allows you to drop two homeworks AND two quizes. I liked this class a lot.
Tons of homework and quizes. Exams are really hard, especially the final. Her accent sometimes is difficult to understand. She tries really hard not to fail anybody.
Just attend classes and you should do well.
Use great examples to explain statistical concepts.
Took this class during summer and got an A. It was fast but she made it easy.
Great class everyone should take it with her.
Great prof, knows her stuff. Go to class and you will do fine. Quiz every week, homework every week too, final is on blackboard and is due at the time the final should have been in class; you have a week to take it.
Wow! She is all over the place, but her random thoughts of the day make it semi-interesting. I hate math though, so I dreaded coming everday. The practice exams mimick the real exams well. So if you don't understand her in class, at least you know what's on the exam and can study on your own.
She is very energetic and passionate about her teaching. She always has funny comments and has a good teaching style. Doesn't go too fast and her grading system is very fair.
The last 3 chapters are ridiculously hard. Up till then its relatively an easy class. Lots of extra credit available, just go to EVERY class. Online final is hell.
Great teacher. Explains material well and is always willing to help. One of the best in the math department. Always full of energy and on prepared
Best math prof I've ever had here - no doubt everyone should take her for stats. I loved the class!
"Okay guys!!" this woman is the best STA 282 prof out there. she is fair, emplains things completely and practically begs students to come to office hours to ask questions. The best A+++++
She is great.
She's as cool a prof as you will find. Very energetic and humorous. Also very helpful and aids students a lot.
She's a great teacher. Her accent isn't too bad and she is always there for help. Actually try in class and you'll do very well. She is so energetic that I wonder if she drinks alot of coffee...but that's a good thing.
Don't let the name scare you, she's not that hard to understand. You can use a cheat sheet on quizzes and tests and 2 exams are on blackboard. Goes off on randoms sometimes telling stories and her famous line is "come back here". doesnt take attendance but gives random open-note/friend quizzes for extra credit. take her!
Take this prof!! Class is not hard with her, easy to get a good grade. If you have to take STA 282 TAKE SEPANSKI!!! No one else, She is great!!!!
I am horrible at math, but I got an A in this class. Statistics isn't so bad. She is the best professor I have ever had; I actually WANTED to go to class. She's energetic and hilarious.
If she only taught what she put on the exams, she would be a decent prof. Nice lady, but cant teach worth anything in all honesty. Class average was about a 64.5 on the final exam...something is missing here.
The final grade average was about 84. What was the previous comment about? She was great. I did not put much efforts and received a pretty good grade. You only have myself to blame if you did not do well.
Ummm....I guess you were not in our class, so whatever happened in sta 282(easy class), doesnt apply here. Okay prof, agree on the comment about exams nt being consistent to what was beign taught in class. Did try hard to help out in terms of grades however.
I learned a lot in STA584. This class also had undergraduates who really need to study and retake calculus. If you have studied, you would know all the exam problems were similar to examples done in class.
Awesome professor. She is so funny and is very enthusiastic about teaching. She gets off on tangents sometimes, so that makes the class enjoyable to be in cuz it's so funny. Definitely take 282 with her if you get the chance. You get a cheat sheet for exams, and she is very helpful whenever you need it. Great prof!
She is a fun professor. She also allows a cheat sheet for exams/quizzes, gives extra credit grades the quizzes more than fairly. HOWEVER- she goes through the material quickly so pay attention if you are taking this in Summer 1 or 2! Also, quizzes are every day and are worth 25 points so don't skip class. Study and you will get an A.
This class requires some effort and you have to go to class. However she teaches the material really well and you will understand what you are doing. There is a quiz every TH, and homework every T, but she gives bonus points. I would recommend taking this class with her.
lets you use a cheat sheet on every exam... don't fall behind on homework or quizzes tho; attendance is key.
Work hard, and go to class and you will be rewarded. Gives many extra credit points for showing up to class. Tests are hard but you get a cheat sheet. Prof is hard to understand, but very nice, and made some good jokes. I would say this is about as good as a Stats class can be.
One of the best professors I have ever had. She is always telling jokes! She likes to shop.
One of my best professors this semester. Like her teaching style. Take her.
Sepanski is a great professor and is hilarious. She tries to get students active and "awake" by telling crazy stories about herself, her husband or her daughters. Lets you use a page of notes on exams and usually half a page on quizzes, makes it very easy to comprehend and apply the material. Quiz every class on the last day of the week.
Great teacher, enjoyed the class a lot, and as long as you have a room temperature IQ you will do fine.
Great teacher, enjoyed the class a lot, and as long as you have a room temperature IQ you will do fine.
I actually remember some of the concepts I learned in this class. She is kind, funny, smart, intelligent and pretty. Take her.
She is the funniest professor I've had. She's also very knowledgeable and explains concepts so that everybody can understand them. Allows a cheat sheet on all exams and quizzes, so it's pretty easy
Hilarious. She is funny and explains concepts well. I thought the class was insanely easy, until the final. On her final she asks questions you have never seen before so it is a little more difficult. She always tells jokes, which is a plus, but sometimes it can be a little difficult to understand her accent.
Great prof! You get to use a page of notes on tests, so to get below a C would be unbelievable. She explains things 1000 times, so as long as you pay attention and go to class, you will do fine. Theo only thing i didnt like was she seemed to put 1 or 2 problems on the tests that i'd never seen before, but good prof, easy class
Prof S is about as good as they come for taking statistics. Don't let the last name intimidate you, she has a pretty clear speaking voice. Homework and quizzes were easy so long as you went to class. Offered a ton of extra credit and helpful study guides for exams. Also allows a cheat sheet for all exams. Take her, she's great!
Nice person, not the best teacher. Do not take her if you have no background knowledge on Stats, she is not very good at explaining things for intro students. She speaks fairly good English, and does give out extra credit, but she is a hard teacher.
sepanksi is a great teacher. she is pretty easy to understand, so do not let the name fool you. tons of extra credit available if you go to class, especially in the second half of the semester. weekly quizzes are simple, homework is beneficial and allowed a cheat sheet for exams. the final was very hard, but the other exams are very manageable
Her personality adds fun to the class. You don?t need to be super smart to get an A, just attend all classes, do your homework and study a little bit for quizzes. Take her and learn something about statistics.
What a wonderful professor! Unlike all the other math professors, this one is very clear and helps you understand statistics. She keeps you attentive throughout the entire class and explains things extremely well. Just show up to class and do your homework and you will get an A.
material is hard, come to class and she will give out bonus points that will help your grade. she is absolutely hilarious and very enthusiastic about statistics. great prof
Dr. Sepanski is probably one of the best professors I have had. She is extremely funny and has a great attitude. The class was pretty easy in the 1st half and then it got pretty hard in the 2nd half. She isn't very organized and if she was it would have made the 2nd half a lot easier. She's fair with grading and I highly recommend her!
Great person, very funny, talks really fast, sometimes clarity is rough, very organized. Exams are tough, but gives extra credit and easy homework and quizzes which are a big part of your grade.
I loved her she is so funny and usually explains things well. You will have hw due on the first day of every week (M/Tu) and a quiz on the second day (W/Th) She also hands out random bonus points. Do the review and go to SI session before exams and you will do good!
Dr. Sepanski is a great professor. However, you have to put in quite a bit of work to get a good grade. There is a homework assignment every week and a quiz. However, she drops at least 4 of your lowest quiz scores. The exams are challenging, but you get a cheat sheet. Dr. Sepanski is always available and very funny. I definitely recommend her.
Don't be afraid by the name. Although she has an accent, it is still very easy to understand her. Was expecting stats to be a tough class, but she made it very easy. She's also funny and tries to lighten up class a lot. Weekly quizzes and homework, 2 exams and a final, and you get to use cheat sheets. Offers a lot of extra credit as well. Awesome.
Sepanski is an overall great professor. She is super funny and teaches the material in a way that's easy to understand. She does have a bit of an accent but it honestly isn't bad. There are quizzes every week but they aren't bad. As long as you go to class and pay attention you should pass. Also, the textbook is online and you don't really use it.
Not a good teacher and was unclear. Further, exams had material on them that was never covered in class. Do not recommend!
I DO NOT recommend. The teacher rushed through the material and didn't explain it well. Further, the tests are near impossible!
The tests are weighted very high. If you do bad on one test, you won't pass! I felt like this teacher did not care much about the students success in STA282. I do NOT recommend.
Not a good class, especially if you struggle in math. The homework is easy but the tests are extremely difficult. Very little help available...
Dr. Sepanski is one of the best professors I've had during my time at CMU. I am not a math person, but her thoroughness really makes the class easy. The exams are tough, but you will do fine if you study. She is always cracking jokes and you can really tell she cares about her students. I HIGHLY recommend taking her!
The tests are impossible. A very tough class to get through, she also expects everyone to understand. NOT GOOD!
Don't worry about the name, although she has a small accent she is still easy to understand. The tests are pretty tough, but you get a cheat sheet (even on the final). She is always willing to help out! Textbook is online so don't buy one.
Not a good teacher! Really never wanted to help and is hard to understand as she moves so fast.
She is a character.. all over the place with stories from her childhood. Overall a good professor. Thoroughly reviews material even though she talks a mile a minute. She has a small account but is relatively easy to understand. Exams aren't too hard and you are given a cheat sheet. Lots of quiz/homework but she drops 3-5 at the end of the semester
She is horrible, very unorganized in her lecture. Tells you not to wait until the last minute to do the homework but you have to because the day before it is due she will tell you essential details that you need to do the homework. Will rarely give you solutions to anything so you wont know what you did wrong. Always says "its in the book" its not.
If you attend every class, you should have no problem passing her class. She does a great job with beating the info into your head and is always available for consultation. She does make you actually read the book, but she gives out great packets with examples from the book that she goes over in class. A+
Sepanski is very little help! Dont expect help if you go to her office hours. I recommend taking the class with another professor as she does not respect students!
Her lectures are entertaining, she goes off on tangents on purpose to keep everyones attention. She explains things well and goes over lots of examples. Exams are hard but you get a whole front and back piece of paper as a cheat sheet. Theres a quiz every week but she ends up dropping several of them.
Her lectures were awful and she always got off of topic through out the class. Would not help students when they were confused. She was not a good professor and I would not recommend taking her.
-If you're taking ACT 539 to genuinely sit for and pass exam P, this class should be a cakewalk to you. If you're taking it just for the major/to graduate it will be difficult and you'll have to put in work but Dr. Sepanski is not out to get you, she wants you to succeed.
She is a very nice lady and really wants to help you. She gets off topic many times. Her first test written portion was very hard. Her tests are multiple choice. If you need help dont be scared to go to her office she does try and help.
A lot of this class was based on calculator tricks rather than trying to solve equations so if you didn't memorize them you may not do well on the tests. Homework is easy as you can look at your notes and copy the same steps. And weekly quizzes are easy as well as they are mostly the same questions as the homework.
She's a little wacky, but a good teacher none the less. Do the online homework, it helps a lot to make sense of the lectures.
Don't. Take. Her. She is confusing, unclear, and messy. She has 3 exams, the first two are worth 25% each and the final is worth 30%. She told us before our final that the average in the past was 63% and doesn't curve it. My roommate took this class with a different professor and they didn't even go through the material that we did. Stay away!
She seems like she cares and is a good person, but her lectures were a little unclear and for classes being online, she struggled with technology. I did fine teaching myself the material outside of the class but if you are someone who relies on the lectures, I might try to find a different professor.
Her class is not easy, but she is not a tough grader. You need to put in some effort and keep up with your study. Keep up or fall behind. She grades exams on a curve and uses extra credit to encourage attendance.
Dr. Sepanski is great, and tries to relate to students. Homework every week and quizzes at the end of classes, but she is pretty good at lecturing. The clas itself certainly isn't easy and requires work, but the grading is not too tough. Make sure to pay attention in class!
Show up to class, exams and quizzes are online but in the classroom, don't make it a habit to ask for extensions, she keeps track.
She is very kind, caring and always trying to make her class laugh. Though course material is not easy, she makes up for it by giving extra credit. There is a lot of homework assignments and even though they take time, they are helpful and really helped my grade.
She was a great prof and taught well but the course content was difficult. The class had lectures with examples and was graded on weekly quizzes and exams only (so definitely test heavy). Overall, this prof definitely wanted students to learn and succeed and did her best to teach the content of this course with learning check-ins through quizzes.
