Mr. Felix is a very good english teacher, he takes time making sure that everyone understands the assignments that are given, he is very available no matter what the question is, already he has improved my essay writing skills greatly, i plan on taking him again next semester.

really easy... always lets you out early goes over things very well ... only bad thing was makes you do a lot of busy work during class but hardly any work outside the class besides the required essays

If you love literature this is not the teacher to take. If you want to learn how to write a good paper take him but he does not understand the value of a good piece of literature. The class I took was the short story and we never got into any deeper meanings of the pieces we read. If you are into surface level reading then this is your guy.

Good guy, very helpful with essay's.

I took him for english 1 and 2 and got an A in both classes. As long as you keep up with the readings and do your work, its easy. Also, before you hand in a paper, if you make an appt. with him, he'll basically grade it and tell you what you need to change to get an A. I did that for every paper. He really wants everyone to do well.

great prof! always willing to help if you have questions. no tests only reading quizs, and reading quizs aren't really "quiz", they are like activities just for attendence purposes. just do the readings and papers and attend classes u will be fine.

He teaches a fun and informative English class. You will learn alot and have a ton of fun. The essays are not bad at all, and he is a pretty easy grader. Highly recomended!

Professor Felix is brilliant. He expects alot from his students, basically just do the work and reading. I took him for Science Fiction and it was fantastic. He is there to help whenever you need it and gives extra points if you go to the support center for papers and such. One last thing MLA, learn it and live it.

Very good professor. Puts a lot of effort into the process of teaching. Easy-going. Accessible for any questions or meetings. Cares more than the avg. prof. about the students, especially their performance and effort. You have to be a good student to get an A; the good news is not too much homework.

Justin is a really awesome guy. He keeps his class interested by relating literature to relevant current events and likes to use television and movies as supplements. He can be a bit of a hard grader, but he doesn't overload on work so you have plenty of time between assignments to get things done. Highly recommended professor.

Mr. Felix is simply an awesome teacher. He treats everyone equally which was very respectable. He will NEVER EVER talk down to any student because he's way too caring and smart to demoralize a student. Do yourself a favor and take this professor any chance you get. He's the best professor I've had in college period.

Professor Felix is a nice guy and is willing to help you on everyone essay he assigns. He'll introduce to some classic books and to some science fiction. The only problem with him is that he always expects more from you no matter what you give him. Just my opinion.

Hes extremely helpful when you are having trouble with something. Explains everything well during class so you dont get left behind.All you got to do is keep up with your work and go to class everyday and you get credit for it.

Literature of comedy class, he is seriously the most helpful and understanding teacher I have ever had, I had him for english 2 and this class he is seriously awesome.

This professor is beyond AWESOME! He is hysterical, keeps the class engaged...He is organized, and plans accordingly. He was a lenient grader for summer class. He's very clear and makes sure the whole class understand. In addition, he emails all the time to make sure you have no excuse as to what you missed if you didn't attend class! Great class!

Very good, BUT too many mini exams for Lit. class & only 1 day to prepare. Harsh grader. Disagree w/comment below. Students do not get A's just for participating & attendance - there more than involved. Getting an A is difficult. Expects too much & takes points off for minor things.

Wonderful! Readings are manageable and its an easy class to balance with other classes.

As an English major, I learned a lot from his class. He really teaches you how to write a really solid essay and how to make great comparisons in them. I would recommend him for any and everyone. I took him for two other classes after English Composition I

This was the second class that I had with this professor. I loved him ever since the first class, so I HAD to take him for English Composition II. His readings were great. Definitely recommended for anyone.

This was my third class with this professor. It was my first 200 level English class, and he made it a great experience, especially considering that I really did not want to take the class. There was more reading than in his English Composition classes, but it was still very manageable. I recommend him for anyone!

I enjoyed having him as my english professor. There are a lot of short stories you must read. But i think its manageable and as long as you attend class, you can definitely pass!

Had him for Am Lit 2. His class was entertaining and informative, and the reading was light and full of great stories. Good for an introduction to story structure. The writing was very light and he grades very reasonably. Definitely recommended.

Kind of boring, he helps you with whatever and at anytime. Doesn't grades essay harshly at all as long as you do the basics. Consider taking him again

I took The Short Story with Felix over the summer. 3 exams and 2 essays. He is not a harsh grader at all, and the stories were fun to read. Very low-key, chill class with not too much of a workload. He was VERY helpful and pleasant as a professor. I enjoyed him! I would recommend this class to anyone who needs lit! Fairly easy, but requires effort

Very specific about how essays should be structured, as long as you follow that you should be okay in the class. I took his American Horror class which was a good topic but the class itself was very boring. He is very open to helping students as best he can, so feel free to ask questions. Overall not a bad professor.

The best English composition teacher I have ever had. In addition to his great teaching skills he is a great guy that really wants his students to succeed. I'd highly recommend him because of his great explanatory skills, great lesson plan, and commitment to his students success. Great guy and great teacher that knows what is he doing every time.

I took a English class with a horror concentration meaning that we ready a Stephen King book, scary short stories, and would write papers about horror topics. I would recommend that over a regular English class just to make it more interesting. Justin was a little on the annoying side but was helpful when grading. I think I wrote 5 papers total.

Took professor Felix for a second consecutive semester for his Intro to lit class. Everything is laid out very easy and simple for students. There is a decent amount of reading, however everything you read is useful for papers and exams. As long as you read and keep up, getting a good grade shouldn't be a problem at all.

He's a fantastic professor. Very easy class if you at least complete the assignments, just wants to see a little effort. I took him for both Eng 111 and Eng 112. It's a lot of writing but all English classes will have about the same amount.

Felix is the man! Took English Comp 2 with a concentration in American horror, best decision I have made. Stories are all interesting and you don't mind reading them. Want to get an A for his class? Just do what you are asked to do. Very nice guy. Assignments aren't too long. Very helpful. Email him if you have any question. Gives a lot of extra credit. SHOW HIM THAT YOU WANT TO GET AN A. Readings are not too bad, but make sure to do the readings because he gives pop quizzes. An easy A if you just do your work.

He treats everyone exactly as they treat him. To me, he was the nicest teacher I've ever had. However there were some loud, lazy, slackers in my class and he didn not let them get a hawt with that. I'm getting a low grade because I didn't do what he said was how to succeed in his class. All you have to do is show up, do the work, and ask for help.

I took this as a summer course. He is an awesome professor. SHOW UP TO CLASS - he gives participation points each class period, and you will miss out if you are not there. He is all about class-wide discussions - does not like to hear himself talk the whole time. Flexible with essay deadlines and always available to help outside of class. Take him!

I took this class over the summer. It really wasn't that difficult, but I still learned a lot about literature and enjoyed the selection of stories. There are a few writings, but they're not as involved as the ones in composition classes. He is a very fair grader and explains requirements for assignments clearly. He always offers one-on-one help.

I took Professor Felix for English 111 and 112. One of the best professor at RV, I would recommend you all take him if his on the schedule thing. Make sure you do the reading for his class because they are mostly going to be in your paper. Make sure you do all of the work need for his class and show up everyday for participation points.

Professor Felix assigns very reasonable amounts of reading and the papers for his class are very straightforward. He can be very accommodating and you can tell he loves teaching. Prepares you well and really does care about his students. Highly recommend taking his class.

Professor Felix is extremely clear during his lectures. Any English class will require you to read and write papers, it's not different here. What makes this professor better, in my opinion, is how much time he spends guiding his students to do well on the assignments. Attendance is a must! If you plan on missing too many classes don't take him.

Professor Felix is truly amazing. He's straight-forward and cares for his students. I don't like English, but he somehow made it fun and accesible. I'd take him again! Just be aware of pop quizzes and participation really does matter in his class.

I loved his class! Very funny, punctual, and gives very detailed feedback on papers so that you know how to improve. He is aware of students' circumstances and gives a justifiable amount of homework for the class. The readings he picks are fun, but there is a lot of writing. Give the effort to pay attention and raise your hand once in a while. It does take mental effort to pass this class but if you talk to him one-on-one or in his office hours, he'll help you.

Because of him and Professor Christine Pipitone, I have started my own website about reviewing cartoons that I grew up with. Prof. Felix is awesome!

I took Justin Felix for English Comp 1 and he was very caring and provides feedback telling us the errors that we made before the due date so that we can fix those errors we made and get a good grade. I guess you might as well say he's Justin Fix-It-Felix because willing to help us fix our errors because we can fix it!

Prof Felix is a great professor. The class is fairly easy with about 3 in class essays, one being the final, that he allowed us to do from home on canvas. Gives great feedback before the final draft due dates to allow you to fix your mistakes. He also gives a lot of extra credit opportunities.

He is a good guy, but he is obnoxious in class because he talks a lot about random stuff and he repeats so try and tune him out. He answers emails fast and helps a lot with work you're struggling with. He gives timed essays, essays, bibliographies etc. Overall, pretty easy just boring in most parts of the class.

Mr. Felix is a good professor and is very strict. He expects you to do the best in the course and expects great work out of you. I have had him before in the end but it is a very difficult course and I wished that I could have done well but I am a hyper critical person and I do feel that he is a tough grader.

He's very cool, and it's clear that he enjoys his work. There's a lot of reading, but that's completely reasonable for an English class. There is a huge amount of grades, but most of it is participation credit. You basically get 5 points for every class you show up to, which really boosts the grade. He offers 20 point extra credits semi-regularly.

Prof. Felix is someone who is very clearly interested in what he teaches, which makes the class incredibly engaging. He offers extra credit for going to tutoring sessions, which is cool. The grading system is also very clear- it all adds up to 1,000 points, so it's easy to calculate your grade beyond Canvas' metric. :)))

Prof. Felix is really friendly and a great teacher. His lectures can be a little bit repetitive, but he's aware of that and it does make jabs at himself about it at times! He just wants to make sure everyone understands the material and is on the same page. It's quite a bit of homework but if you're a good English student this class isn't too hard!

Kind, understanding guy who cares a lot abt his job. Seems set on making class easy as possible for students yet still challenging them :) Very ADHD-friendly. Hard to not know what's going on; clear expectations. His years of teaching show in a good way-- you can tell he's chosen material carefully, trying his best to make sure all pass. King!!

Very laidback professor. He gives you a lot of leeway as long as you follow his guidelines. Definitely one of my favorite professors for sure.

Easiest college professor in RVCC. I'm aware not everyone is good at English, but this guy literally holds your hand through the whole course. Reteaches stuff from English Comp 1, and he's always willing to revise your papers. And yes, his lectures are boring, but he's at least funny about it and makes jokes about his voice all the time.

I don't like English but he made it simple and enjoyable. Breaks things down and goes step by step. Always available for questions and replies quickly. Highly recommend and (if I had to) would take him again.
