Mr. Fisher is an amazing teacher, i took him for a week long mini-term this summe. We covered the same amount of material as a normal term and i actully remember it! Mr. Fisher knows his stuff and will not move on untill you understand it. I would have failed this call if he had not been my teacher.
Justin Fisher was the best teacher I have had in college thus far. He is very organized and puts concepts into real life situations. He has got a great sense of humor too!!! I would recomend him for any Economics class!!

If you're taking either Eco. 231 or 232, then take him. He is the best Eco. professor at JSCC. Its like learning while having fun. He talks to you like an economist but have really good examples that are funny and easy to understanding. TAKE HIM, YOU WILL NOT REGRET!
Mr. Fisher is the best teacher that I've had at Jeff State. He was very clear and made an ordinarily boring subject very interesting. He was great at bringing the current day economic situation into the classroom. If you have to take either ECO 231 or 232, by all means, take his classes!
The best teacher in this school! Helpful, funny and can really teach the material!!!
Mr. Fisher is one of the most amazing teachers that I have EVER had!!! I took him for Macro and didn't do great only b/c I should've put more time into studying and I would've done better because Mr. Fisher explains everything perfectly. IT IS A MUST FOR YOU TO COME TO HIS CLASS, because his tests come from the notes he gives. GREAT TEACHER!!!!!
Great teacher. Do not skip class!
Best teacher I can imagine for this class.... really "taught" it to you. I had dropped ECON at another school b/c the teacher was so bad.
Great Economics teacher.
I took Mr. Fisher for both of my economic classes as well as my business class. I would recomend his economic classes bc I liked the way he taught them, but his business class was definatly harder and not taught the same way. Oveall, he is wonderful person who really cares about his students!
He is a great teacher with a lot of knowledge. If you do not understand something he knows how to bring it down to your level to help you grasp the whole concept.
The best professor I have ever had!! I am taking every class he teaches. He made getting an A fun!! :)
He is a great teacher. Funny stories during class. He really never uses the book. He has a great attitude if you have a good attitude. Take his class if you can.
Great Professor, taking all 3 of his classes. Great guy, too. Really loves teaching and it shows. Can't go wrong here.
Very great teacher! Tells funny jokes and makes ecomomics fun! I would recommend to everyone!
Professor Fisher is a good teacher of economics. What he says he means, and says what he means. All notes and what he says in class can and will often be on his test. Overall he has a great sense of humor and tells good storys that are applicable to economic instructions. I like him as a person.
BEST teacher at Jefferson State!!!
Very nice
He's a really great teacher. he is ready to help you anytime. if you study the notes well. B or A easy!!
he'S AMAZINGG!!!
If you go to class, you'll make an A. No textbook needed. Sadly, he is completely unwilling to help students with missed material. I was hospitalized and had complete documentation and he wasn't even willing to give me a hand-out that all the other students got. His lectures are easy to follow, but you can't miss a single class for any reason.
He actually holds your attention and makes it fun and interesting. He's very funny and has great stories. No text books and no real homework or papers, just a few assignments here and there and about 5 tests. If you pay attention, study a reasonable amount, and go to class the majority of the time you will do fine!
Mr. Fisher is an awesome teacher. I only took this class for my major, but he made it fun and interesting! He gives the best examples to help you understand the material you cover, and he's funny. You HAVE to study for his tests though, or you will not pass the class. His test can be hard, but he's willing to help you if you get stuck on a chapter.
Microeconomics is difficult. Not an easy A but Mr. Fisher's class would be the one to take if you are looking at taking Micro. Mr. Fisher says if you have to take one Econ course, take macro. It's the easier of the two courses.
LOVE HIM!
This guy is great. I didn't know about this website when I took him back in '09 and '10. But he is a great guy, a great teacher, very involved with his students. Show up to his class, take all the notes, do the work, and you will get a good grade. You will also be positively influenced by a genuinely decent human being.
Awesome teacher.
Mr. Fisher is one of the best professors I have had since returning to college. Wish I would have known about him when I took Micro. He makes economics interesting and is funny. If you attend class & take notes, there is no reason you should not pass his class.
This instructor gives only 4 test and there is no gray area with his grading. Economics is tough to comprehend. The instructor does not give bonus work or homework to help you pass the class if you don't do well on all 4 test. True he is funny and tells funny stories.
Great funny teacher very nice he gives you all the notes, but here is how his class works just 4 test and in the end 1 comprehensive final. No HW no bonus no nothing just the 5 test added up and divided by 5. He is the only thing better that Schatz. he says you need a textbook but he gives you the notes and I never opened that thing waste of money
Mr. Fisher might be the best professor I have ever had. He is such a great person. His tests are a little difficult (mainly the graphically illustratediscuss questions) but if you make note cards of all the notes and memorize them, it's easy to make at least a B. I would definitely take him again!
This was by far my favorite teacher this semester. I thought he was very funny and I really loved the fact he's a christian man. You must take notes and study them. All test questions come directly from notes. Make sure you pay attention to things he mentions in class that are not in the notes he puts on the screenboard in class. It's important.
Great teacher! I like him better than schatz. Here is how the class goes 5 test at 100 point each. 1 final for 100 points the final is 100 questions from the old test. your grade is just your points divided by 600. he gives you all the notes. just make sure you type them later so you can be organized. trust me you need too.
Mr. Fisher is a great man and is extremely fair. He is clear in his lectures and is very funny. He has a great outlook on life. If I could take him again I would. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Mr. Fisher is one of the best teachers I have ever had. Economics as a whole is a tough subject, but he makes it fun. His examples are stories about his own life that are not only funny, but very helpful. Please take Mr. Fisher. He is a great teacher, but most importantly a great man.
This guy is amazing.
Mr. Fisher is without a doubt one of the best teachers at Jeff State. He is concise yet thorough. He gives solid examples to solidify his points. He has a great sense of humor. You'll never be bored and you'll learn a great deal. However, Mr. Fisher's tests aren't the kind that you cram for 1 hour before the test. STUDY and you'll do well.
Great class! Come to class and STUDY your notes. Lots of graphs and test are NOT easy. Some of his test questions are worded a little odd, makes you think. Great lectures.
Some of his test questions are worded a little odd, makes you think. Great lectures. Great class! Come to class and STUDY your notes. Lots of graphs and test are NOT easy dont wait until the minute to study.
I've taken Mr. Fisher for micro and macro, while being a transient student at Alabama. He's by far the best teacher I've ever had in college. Pay attention in class (it's actually interesting the way he teaches) and study a decent amount and you'll do great. Wish more professors were more like him. Definetly would recommend!
Mr. Fisher is outstanding. His lectures are phenomenal and his personality is brilliant. The course was much easier for me since I had previous experience in Macro from AP in high school, but I would still recommend him to all. He is so much fun and you will never be bored. I always looked forward to his class and I would certainly take him again.
Had Fisher for both Bus 100 and Econ 232, in 2011-12. The econ course is difficult, but it's qualitative for microeconomics; it's conceptual, not computational. Some is very tricky, but you don't need to do any math.. The Bus 100 course is cake. I've since graduated with honors from both Jeff State and UA-Tuscaloosa. Go Pioneers. Roll Tide
Mr Fisher is fantastic! Very entertaining, knows his stuff and delivers it in a manner that makes economics actually interesting. My grade was lower than I wanted because of my lack of preperation towards his tests and my inability to understand the information provided. All my own fault. If I later decide to take the class again, Mr Fisher is it!
Great online class. 6 tests with one drop. No assignments. Encourages discussion which is not mandatory. You can tell that he really loves teaching and I get the feeling that his class in person is awesome. Great prof!
Best professor EVER! He made an overall tough class easy. Take the notes exactly as he has them on the screen and study them exactly like that and you will do just fine. When in doubt, choose the All of the above answer!!! He gives real life examples that makes things easy and memorable. He wants you to pass!
He is a very interesting man, very funny. However, the tests are very challenging and there is no classwork. You wont know if you fully understand the material until test day.
Do your work and you will pass. Kind teacher and will help you when you need help.
Great teacher! Just make sure you write the notes he has provided and STUDY them. If you miss class be sure you get the notes or no way you will pass.
Hes a great man who wants you to pass. The multiple choice questions can be hard but be sure to study hard and youll be fine.
I JUST COULDN'T STAND THIS CLASS. HE IS ALRIGHT, but he didn't explain things as simply as i needed them. There wasn't enough homework to back up his lectures. I'm just not a fan of his teaching style.
Show up to every class meeting and take notes on both what is provided but some of the things he says as well. Devote a marginal amount of time to studying and it's an easy A or B.
This is a great online class. Read the material, review the notes, and powerpoint notes and you will pass this class.
You have no book what so ever. if you don't do well on the test you are in trouble because that's all he grades you on. he takes points away even if your a min late.
5 test. Drops lowest test grade. Very very easy class.
This class depends on taking tests, we had about 4 days where the test was available to complete. Mr. Fisher would occasionally put an announcement post up of some kind for a Discussion Board, but I didn't find them to be very engaging. They also aren't counted for credit so not many people complete them. To do well, you must be active.
Basing comprehension exclusively via one medium due to being too lazy to produce engaging material&offer other graded opportunities to for students whose brains dont work like everyone elses Material isnt hard;not everyone tests well&that affects their grades negatively. He is quite tech illiterate&his online lectures are poor quality.
no lectures. all tests. most everything can be found on quizlet
The videos, that are not lecture videos, are useless. In the lectures, it is hard to listen to but he does emphasize what will be on the test. The power points are very clear and has examples. The limited time on the tests is what makes it harder. I wish there were more homework for practice and points. Also, the discussions are a waste of time.
Make sure to not fall behind. Test questions are fairly simple, nothing out of the ordinary. His tests involve a good bit of application. All of his lectures are online.
All test. No other assignments for extra credit. Test questions are tricky & the limited time on the test makes it harder.
Fisher believes in only being graded for tests. He hated hw as a student so he does not believe in giving it. His tests are over complicated for no reason at all, making it so hard because of the no hw. I did not know what specific concepts to study. Took 5 classes and this was the only class I had to over prepare for and still could hardly pass.
Was not a fan or Justin Fischer, he is very long and short winded at the same time, his lecture videos are years old and you can tell, in his lecture videos he will go on a rant and say like 3 things about what the video is supposed to be about. Then his tests usually will have nothing on what the subject matter on hand is on the test.
Took class as a transient student from JSU, wanted an A happy with a C+ Mr. Fisher gave clear PP + videos No Homework I did not find the discussion board helpful responded timely. Not easy for me heck if only college was easy. Mr. Fisher is hilarious, he truly inspires he could use his disability to sit at home draw a check. Textbook access free
I like him as a person just not as a teacher, i find it a little hard to follow along with him at times because although it is online, in his lecture videos he seems kind of bored talking about whatever it is he talks about and at times is very monotoned.
I like him as a person just not as a teacher. I found it hard to follow along with his lectures due to him going off subject and never finishing his points quite often. He also only gives tests and as someone who is a horrible test taker but great at literally anything, else it sucked.
Mr. Fisher does not believe in homework. His class is based on test nothing more nothing less. The lectures and PowerPoints that Mr. Fisher will post do not adhere with the test that are given. This has by far been the most difficult class I have taken.
Professor Fisher is a good teacher, but this class was rough. He only gives 6 tests the whole semester, no homework or anything. His tests are hard and hard to study for. The questions on the test are worded as real world problems, which we never have the chance to understand how to answer because there is no homework. I do not recommend.
Hes nice but he makes his courses unnecessarily difficult. He rarely specifies what we're actually supposed to be gathering (there's alot being said in lectures). When it comes to tests you best be prepared to answer numerous questions&for them to be unfamiliar even if you study. This is coming from an attentive student.
Holy moly, I would not recommend this professor. He is so stuck up and expects your entire lifestyle to be consumed by studying for his unnecessarily hard tests. He has no remorse and does not understand students have lives and jobs, so they can't spend every hour studying. Like brotha, I am not staying up until 3 am studying for your tests. Sorry!
He's alright. Nice guy but NOT an easy class at all. If you don't study a lot you're gonna struggle. No homework, just tests so you gotta do good on them for a good grade.
This class had 6 test. No homework. The test questions are things he covers in his lectures. This is not a class that you can just memorize things. You need to be able to understand the material and apply it to real life situations. Overall, study, take notes during lectures and you will pass. If you don't study, you will fail 100%.
Justin Fisher is a guy who can get the message across in an understandable manner and so that it is also relevant to not only future success but present day.
Mr. Fisher is genuinely one of the best professors I have ever had. While lectures are definitely mandatory to attend, he explains economics in a way that is very easy to understand. There is no homework, only tests, but he gives a lot of opportunities to ask questions if you don't understand the material. Great professor, cares about his students.
This guy has to be buying reviews. He has an irrational fear of cheating, you take an honorlock test NO going back NO looking away for a quick second and you HAVE to hold your arms up like you're being held gunpoint. Good luck studying won't help with how he words the questions. I was so confused by one I went to an old teacher they had no clue.
Don't believe any positive review. Trust me.
Dude straight booty rather drink swamp water for the rest of my life than take this class
Make sure he can see your hands when taking the test. My entire upper body was in view of the camera but he was upset he couldn't see my hands. Test were really hard even with studying and reading the materials. I have bad test anxiety, so the proctoring was already overwhelming but when I was about my hands I knew I couldn't finish the class.
Don't believe all the negative reviews. This is college so it isn't supposed to be a cake walk. You will need to listen to his lectures to pass his test. When you leave Mr. Fishers class you know what your are supposed to know about economics.
Don't listen to positive review boy. Wouldn't be surprised if Justin gave credit for good reviews. This class makes you wonder if they picked a homeless man off the side of the street and made him teach. Don't take this bozo.
DO NOT GET THIS TEACHER HE'S THE WORST! I'M WARNING YOU. I wanted a WP in his class because I was failing, this man GAVE ME A DISPROVED AFTER telling me he knows that if I were to make a 100 on the exam I won't pass. HE KNEW. ALSO his Final Exam is a normal test not half a grade AT ALL. His tests are hard, there's no homework everything is tests!
Do not take his class unless you want to teach yourself, do some extra therapy sessions, and have your GPA drop. I have never been so stressed out over a course before! He seems to get some sort of ego boost when people fail his classes. Taking his class required more studying than all my other classes combined, just to pass.
Class was dropped before I could complete it & after reading his syllabus & course outline, I'm happy it did. There are currently no other ECO231 professors so good luck if your degree requires this class. You have to read 2-4 chapters then take a test. Tests are proctored using honorlock. He requires the camera to be visible from the waist up
Good teacher! Just don't fall behind or procrastinate.
Worst class I've ever taken! I wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy to take him. The entire class is based on test scores. No quizzes, no homework, no extra credit, only proctored tests. Run far away from this guy.
rlly good professor lowkey
0/10 would not recommend this professor! His class is reading and tests only. His tests are proctored and he has very strict and unrealistic rules. I wish I had read the reviews before taking his class and negatively affecting my GPA. Avoid his class at ALL cost!
Grades consists of 5 tests + Final. Take notes from his lectures and study (a lot) and you'll be fine. Tests are proctored and timed.
Great instructor ! This man teaches ! If you just want a grade. You won't be successful! If you want to learn ! You will be successful! Bottom line !
Nothing taught in lectures actually helps on the tests. No homework, no practice, no guidance just extremely difficult exams you're expected to magically know. You will spend more time trying to figure out what he should have taught than actually learning from him. Avoid if you want a fair or organized course
