Justin is a good professor who seeks to clarify an ambiguity students might have with the lessons. He is quite accessible and provides useful insight into completing assignments, as also advice on how to improve our work. Justin is crystal clear about expectations for his courses and how things will be graded. He is quite comical and likes to have students engage. He is also teaching at the graduate level, so participation is often suggested/required. The only drawback would be if you take several courses from him as some assignments can have similarities.

Show up, participate and get decent grade. Easy to reach, willing to help and has a clear understanding of what he wants but he is willing to tell you exactly how to succeed in his class.

Embraces technology more than any other prof. He's very upfront about expectations and was more than willing to spend extra time with anyone to explain anything.

Justin makes class interesting, even when the topic is not the most interesting. He also livestreams his classes so that you can watch a lecture later if you miss it. He uses modern software and social media which is going to become more important.

Justin uses a modern, student-centred approach; he cares about whether people are learning and believes in providing a quality experience that is worthy of a students tuition dollars. He is likely the best professor that I have had in my graduate experience; he could likely provide some valuable coaching for other professors at the University!

Justin Longo is extremely versed in technology related to public sector / government operations. He is very knowledgable in the digital governance field and has lots of wisdom to offer students. He is very fair with his grading (at least in JSGS 807) and provides students with ample notes - best of ANY prof I have ever had. Quick email replies too.

I must say i am really impressed with Dr. Longo's use and application of technology. His lectures are very well organized, and easy to understand notes. Excellent professor, one of my favorites at the Johnson-Shoyama graduate school of public policy. He is big on technology and data analysis, as a result all his classes are video recorded in HD. If you want to know about innovative policies and government initiatives, he is your professor.

I like this professor.

Grades are easy to get, but you must put in work. I like the fact that it is an easy learning process. Weekly labs and content curation on one hand feels annoying, but is a way of getting you into the texts, while at the same time, giving you the chance to source for items that correlates to the course content in a practical way.

There is quite a bit of work in his class, but I did learn a lot from his class and how to do technical things that I could /would not do before. Even though the work load is a bit heavier, he does mark fair.

Attendance to the class is not compulsory. He uploads video of the class for every session. He takes his time to explain every course session. When you ask him questions he takes his time to explain vividly. Great course to take with him.

Justin Longo is a respectable professor who teaches with real life examples which is easier for understanding. I wiould recommend Justin to my friends and will certainly take his class again!!

Justin video's course classes and attendance is not mandatory. For students outside the City of Regina or those who are unable to commit the weeknight evenings, you can watch the class anytime on your own. The room is equipped with microphones so you are able to hear classmates questions in addition to the prof's answers!

You will love statistics with Justin. It is interesting, with no boring formulas and graphs, just a few:) a lot of fun and practical cases.

There is quite a bit of work required before each class but I continue to take classes from him as he's my favorite professor at JSGS. He's very approachable and does not make you feel foolish for asking questions. I don't find the class enjoyable but it is the subject matter that is boring and not Justin or his instruction style.

Took JSGS 807 recently. Really appreciate the effort that Justin took to ensure that the class understood the material. If statistics frightens you, this is the course you absolutely need to take to conquer those fears! Enjoyed the web-safari component and the classroom discussions. There is quite a bit of work involved each week, but it was not a difficult class. The topics are actually useful and there is flexibility in the delivery - you can watch the videos rather than attend. I thought it was a very good class.

He's a great professor. Passionate about the subject matter. Breakout discussions add interactive element. Lots of readings. Lots of time reviewing readings, perhaps could have students speak more on the readings & reduce lecture. Frequent assignments, so you need to keep up. Very interesting. Highly knowledgeable. Justin knows his stuff. Everybody likes Justin. One of the most accessible and respected professors at JSGS - pound for pound. Both JSGS 882 and JSGS 807 encourage you to think independently. Have always admired the format of these courses and how he embraces the use of technology. Concepts taught are important and explained very well.

I am taking JSGS882 with Professor Justin Longo remotely for the University of Saskatchewan in MPA program. I found the design and in-depth detail of the course syllabus too intriguing and despite not attending classes, there is so much more to learn from the right choice of articles and everything readily available by him.

I love his teaching style. Makes you keep up to date with technology as he uses this in his teachings and assignments. Overall, He is a good teacher and I'm excited that he would be my lecturer for statistics.

Professor Justin is amazing in many ways as I have learned a lot in this class with no background in Statistics. Even though the course was converted to an online format last minute due to the Covid-19 pandemic, Professor Justin managed to keep students engaged and interested in using various online platforms.

I enjoyed the self-directed nature of Prof. Longo's asynchronous class on Strategic Management in the Public Sector. The readings were on-topic, and the video/voice walkthroughs and class notes are superb. Of particular value are the student-directed 'web safaris', which increased our knowledgebase exponentially. 10/10 would learn from again!

Very helpful Professor. I took this course from a different geographic location. Scheduled our meeting time to fit with my different time zone. Concepts introduced in the class were new for many of us, but he taught in an interesting way that made stats fun but useful thing to learn and master.

Beginning of the semester, I thought this course will not be my favourite but coming to end I should say I enjoyed and learned from this class and it is only because of the unique style of teaching that Professor Longo has. There are lots of targeted activities and homework to help us realize the government and governance in a meaningful way.
