If you are looking for a class where the professor won't put you to sleep and make sure you know the material, then Dr. Ramsdell is who you should take. He is down to earth and really cares about his students. He will do everything in his power to help you pass, BUT won't be able to help unless you put in the same amount of effort.
This was both mine and Dr. Ramsdell's first semester at Mason. He's extremely helpful. He doesn't like textbooks, but you have to pay attention in class. Ask questions or go see him during office hours. He tries his best to help you understand. He's passionate about his students' learning process. He's also hilarious. He makes class interesting.
Professor Ramsdell is a very nice guy and down to earth, he's a little unorganized though and has somewhat difficult exams he throws at you out of nowhere. You don't learn much in his lectures so you have to study on your own for sure! He gives many good examples of the concepts but leaves out a definition. You don't need a textbook :)
Great professor, very interesting and funny lectures that keep you focused.
Dr. Ramsdell is a very good professor who is very passionate about what he does. His lectures are very interesting and make coming to class worth it. His tests are not difficult, but in order to pass you need to pay attention in class or read the textbook on your own. I would take classes with him again. Highly recommend taking his courses
He's an excellent professor. He had hilarious examples and if you come to class and study for exams you'll get an A. He gives all the questions in advance but it's one of those "List everything you know" kind of questions. His final is a blessing and he's a great professor.
The lectures were clear and thought invoking. The instructor was responsive and gave good feedback on discussion board assignments. You will need to be clear and cite your arguments in the discussion assignments.
Dr. Ramsdell is very knowledgeable in his field and cares about his students success. Lectures are not mandatory but if you don't go, don't expect to pass the tests. Regardless, if you don't go you miss out because he is one of the few professors who won't put you to sleep during his lectures. 10/10 would take another course with him.
This was "The Victim Experience". It also was my second go round with Dr. Ramsdell; he is really considerate of the sensitivities around the topics of the course and really opened my eyes with some of the material. Do not worry about the textbook, he does not use it.
Awesome professor and class. Really interesting material and the professor is passionate about what he teaches. 1 paper, a midterm & final. Lots of guest speakers which is awesome. No textbook was required. Overall great class and professor.
Dr. Ramsdell was an amazing professor. Even though class was at 9 am, I went to all of them because he was hilarious and he had great stories about working in the field. He explained all of the concepts clearly and kept it interesting even though it was all about psych research. Highly recommend
Dr. Ramsdell is awesome! Really nice and very funny, and his experiences helped me understand more about research in psychology. The tests are mostly short-answers, so it's very time consuming. Other than that, he's very helpful and understanding, take him!
Although his class was awesome... I overheard him make a comment about our group project to another student that we worked really hard on that was not cool! Don't think he thought we heard him, but was discouraging to hear from your favorite professor :(
The best professor I've ever had. So fantastic and incredibly knowledgeable on the subject matter and so so so inspirational. The best professor I've ever had at GMU.
Dr. Ramsdell is an amazing professor. He has really awesome experiences that he shares with his students. He is very candid and funny, but sometimes gets off topic. There is really no structure to any of his lectures, and only tests on what he writes on the board. He assigns textbook chapters but only for better understanding, not on the tests.
He gives great lectures, does not really go by the book. He has lots of experience in his field so be ready to hear a lot of stories. I don't remember having to turn in many assignments for his class, maybe 2, the most during the semester. There was a group project towards the end of the semester but it was nothing terribly hard. Pretty easy.
Dr. Ramsdell was absolutely awesome! Highly recommend taking his classes. He clearly knows a lot about what he's teaching and he's really friendly and funny too. 2 tests (super easy) and 1 paper. That's it!
Dr. Ramsdell knows a lot about the course and has a background on it. Two exams & one paper & sometimes extra credit. You have to write must of the type for the notes & listen carefully because he doesn't upload the powerpoints on blackboard. Overall Dr. Ramsdell is a good professor.
I took him for intro to forensics, pseudoscience, and mental illness in the court room. Tests are pretty short and only 2 make up a big part of the grade and questions are very specific. Make sure to take good notes and really study, they all require papers but he is very nice with helping you. Super nice professor and funny but make sure to study
Professor Ramsdell is the best professor I have ever had! He makes requirements super clear and is very quick to email back. You have to be in class for the notes, otherwise you'll be lost come test time. He has 2 tests and most of his courses require one paper and/or project. He is the reason I'm in Forensic Psychology!
Prof Ramsdell is awesome but I can't give him a good rating because he makes his exams difficult to study for. Get ready for NO exam guidance. You have to attend class to grab some notes that will be the exams, so tough luck if you miss class (all his psyc classes are like this). Other than that he is funny and his lectures aren't boring.
His stories are great and help you understand the material. He's really funny and treats the students as equals. There is a group project, but his requirements make it interesting. Only 2 tests and 1 project. So you don't have much room to screw up. He doesn't take attendance, but a lot of his lectures aren't slideshows. So you need to show up.
Only two tests and one project. The tests aren't hard if you study, and the project is interesting. He is really funny and likes to tell stories, which help in understanding the material. However he does get off topic easily. He has slideshows for some of his lectures, but not all. So you'll need to show up to pass. He's very nice to the students.
Justin is literally the best professor I've had during my three years at Mason. PSYC 381 was the last of three classes I took with him and I wish I could take more. He's kind, funny, intelligent, an excellent teacher, and just genuinely cares about his students. He's even become a pseudo-advisor to me outside of class. I'm gonna miss him.
Dr. Ramsdell is a great professor at George Mason University! I took 2 of his classes and they were amazing. You learn a lot about forensic psychology & Dr. Ramsdell has a lot of experiences in his field. Dr. Ramsdell has real life victims & does interviews with them so we can get a better understanding. There is a midterm, final and one paper!
By far the BEST professor I have had in my college experience. His lectures were always a good time (even at 9 am). He does more than just read from the power points. He gives side stories and experiences. He has a sense of humor. His tests are only hard if you don't show. If the class is required- take him! If you want an elective- take him.
He's the best, his lectures are great and he's super funny. He basically tells you how to study for his exams (one midterm, one final) so if you do that you should pass. You do have to write a fictional paper but it's pretty easy if you follow his directions. I'm taking another one of his classes next semester bc he's that good. Take him if you can
Dr. Ramsdell is fantastic! I couldn't recommend him enough. He won't be teaching PSYC 462 (Selected Topics in Forensic Psychology) again because it was a bit disorganized, but I'm hoping to take another class with him because he's awesome! His humor is great and he's always willing to help his students. Definitely a great start to my freshman year!
He is a great professor. He makes his lectures fun and interesting which makes it easier to remember important concepts. I strongly suggest attending all his lectures because he is just that good at teaching and applies so many real-life examples to the curriculum.
Dr. Ramsdell is one of the best professors at Mason. All your questions will be answered. Content is interesting and he is so clearly passionate about subject matter. Funny, charismatic, and cares a great deal about the success of his students. Any student is lucky to have him and I will most likely take another one of his classes. No complaints.
I absolutely loved this class! Dr. Ramsdell is so funny and his passion and experience with the subject matter really shows. He is super kind and easily accessible. He doesn't assign textbooks or readings, and the two tests he gives are based off of the material on his slides. I would take a million classes with him; he's just awesome.
Professor Ramsdell is incredible. His lectures were so good they got me to go to a 9am. The major paper you have to write is divided into sections you do as you learn the material (which really reduces stress!). The tests are bit confusing, but all mc. You need to go to class to do well on the tests, since they are based on his lectures not slides
This is my second time taking a class with Profesor Ramsdell and it was amazing. He's very funny and his lectures are interesting. He brought in a lot of guest speakers who are open to network with you. The paper is divided up so it's not a lot of work and the exams aren't bad if you don't try and cram. I recommend Professor Ramsdell to everyone.
This was my second time taking Dr. Ramsdells class and I have to say that I learn more from him within the hour and 15 minutes than all semester with other professors! The lectures are a must. He is an amazing speaker and if youre interested in forensic psychology, go to class. The papers (paragraphs) were easy & exams are based on PP!
Dr. Ramsdell is a great lecturer. He is funny and has everyone interested. My only complaints are that he takes forever to grade and is a tough grader. I wish he was easier to meet with, but he is by appt only and this is hard if you have other classes to attend. He is very knowledgeable and knows his stuff.
I took him one semester and regretted it. I was 1.5% away from passing and he was just petty. Deff wouldnt take him again
hands down my favorite professor at mason. so funny and passionate about the material. test questions are straight from the lectures. attendance was optional but he made me want to show up everytime.
Dr. Ramsdell is an amazing professor. His lectures are always so interesting and in-depth but not where it's too overwhelming. I would highly recommend attending every class. He is super helpful with any questions you make have with the class or general questions about the psychology career. My all-time favorite professor at Mason.
I've taken every single class he teaches and they are my favorite classes at GMU. He is a good lecturer who actually cares about his students. The assessments/ papers he gives you are fair and he tells you what he is looking for. He does not play favorites and can be a tough grader if you do not give him what he is looking for.
He is a hard grader. He didnt clearly explain what he expected in the papers that are required. He gave no examples of what he wanted. I would avoid him. Some students think he is funny. He believes he is hilarious. He brings in lots of guests so he can kick back and then asks questions on exams about random options of the speakers. Ridiculous!
This was my second time taking him and it was great! There's a very big paper, but it's divided into smaller parts throughout the semester. He doesn't offer detailed feedback on them, but his lectures are very informative and he's hilarious! There are weekly quizzes that are open-note with 10 questions max. Great professor! Absolutely recommend!
I took the online class PSYC381. Grading consisted of weekly quizzes, a building paper assignment. There are NO exams in this course so as long as you do your work, you should receive an A. The paper is a long report on a person w/ mental illness. It is done over the course of weeks and has very clear instructions to get an A. An amazing professor.
Professor Ramsdell is very knowledgeable and funny! The content is super Interesting too. I would definitely recommend this class (taught by him) to everyone!
Grading consisted of a paper, thank you note to victims used in his PPTs, and 2 noncumulative exams. The paper is the ending of a fictional story that reflects some type of trauma. The exams were especially easy because they clearly reflected the material. The professor is a great lecturer and makes it fun to absorb the material. Take him!!
Good Professor, I'm not someone who is exactly a lecture person, but he made class very interesting. He has a lot of professional experience and always has a story to tell. You do have to do the work and think critically about what you're doing, but it's not excessive. Great concepts and information in the class and I definitely recommend.
I've NEVER experienced a class like Dr. Ramsdell's. His lectures are on a different level and teach you valuable life lessons. He challenges you to see different people's perspectives and experiences. No tests, group projects, or final. Just one quiz and assignment each week. Attendance is not mandatory, but you'll regret skipping his lectures!
You listen to interviews with victims of crime and then he adds extra info in related to that individual/situation. Each week you have a different victim to focus on so nothing was really cumulative. He is very accessible via email and willing to explain anything you don't understand.
Dr. Ramsdell is hilarious and well spoken. He develops all of his classes from personal experience as a Forensics Psychologists; with real cases, etc. Please take him, you will love his classes. DO NOT skip lectures as you WILL NEED those notes for exams.
Professor Ramsdell is SUPER sarcastic, but in a good way lol. He keeps the class interesting and tells amazing stories that goes along with his lectures. After taking Professor Ramsdell's class I've actually decided to minor in Forensic Psychology, I really hope I can get him as my professor again. I would HIGHLY recommend him for any psych course!
Dr. Ramsdell is a great professor that uses real life scenarios to make sure you understand the content, which also keeps it interesting. I have taken many classes with him and have never been disappointed. If you do your work, you'll get an A, his expectations are very clear and he is always available for any questions you have. Take his class.
Dr. Ramsdell's incredibly accommodating and willing to work with students. He's constantly accessible, his lectures are entertaining, and you end this course with a real feeling of having learned something valuable. Every week you watch a few videos, take a quiz on the content (untimed) and have a short assignment, all very reasonable. Take him.
Lectures all posted online. 1 quiz and an assignment per week... takes about 1.5-2hrs. Do them before the due date and you're fine. Prof Ramsdell is extremely understanding and compassionate. Gave extentions multiple times. Lectures are interesting to say the least. You wont get bored, take the class!
The pre-recorded lectures are easy to follow and the class has easy weekly modules. If you're confused on a topic, email him and he'll explain it. You're peer reviewed on one paper (which you do in sections) but if there's a mistake he's very willing to fix it. If you can ever take him in person, do it! Otherwise his online classes are great too!
This class was great and very accommodating for being online during COVID. Weekly quizzes that are open note and fairly easy. The only thing I hated about this class was the peer review papers. We have 6 short and easy papers but the peer review. There is reason students are students and not professors. It was a pain and I dont recommend it.
I took him for 2 classes this semester: psych 381 and 441. I loved him, the lecture material was interesting, his videos and lectures are based on real cases hes worked on. Hes fair at grading and is extremely nice. I would take him again!
Enjoyed class with professor Ramsdell- he knows his stuff! If you're looking for a class where you really will learn, this is it. Just be prepared: weekly lectures, quizzes, and papers, but they aren't difficult if you do them with plenty of time. Cool dude, everyone loved him!
6 papers but the rubrics have everything you need to get a perfect score. these papers are graded by other classmates. quizzes every week based on lectures. for the most part, quizzes were easy but there were a handful of questions that were a bit tricky to understand. he has a "ask professor forum", extremely helpful because he answers quickly.
Dr. Ramsdell is really knowledgeable in the field! I was able to learn a lot more about mental illnesses and the criminal justice system. There are weekly quizzes and six papers. As long as you include everything that is required in the rubric, you will do just fine! The papers are graded by other students. If you can, take this course with him!
I really enjoyed the class. Every week, there is a story about a victim he interviewed, and listening to their stories was difficult, but very interesting! There are weekly quizzes and assignments, but they are very manageable. I took his 381 and 382 classes in the spring and will take his 441 class in the fall. I highly recommend Dr. Ramsdell!
If you have the opportunity to take him then you should! I have taken 3 classes with him. This class you had a paper(behavioral report) that you added to weekly which was not hard but sometimes took a little bit of time. You could easily not go to class and pass but I would bc the lectures are really interesting and you will learn a lot from them!
Dr. Ramsdell always has funny real-life stories to share about his experiences as a forensic psychologist. Super funny and chill dude, really knows how to explain things in a way that make sense to normal, non-lawyer people. Quizzes are easy, papers are easyhe literally gives out answers in class. Attendance isn't mandatory but showing up helps
He is a really nice and funny professor who really seems to care about his students. Attendance isnt mandatory but showing up really does help because we had to do a weekly quiz and he will say the answers only in class and not in the powerpoints sometimes. The papers may seem a bit excessive but he posts the rubric and its super simple
Professor Ramsdell was one of my favorite professors at Mason! I took 3 of his classes this semester and passed all of them with As. His grading criteria is very clear and hes easily accessible through emails. Also his lectures are very interesting and the assignments are fun and engaging and there are no exams/textbooks. Easy A course for sure!!
A lot to learn from, especially if you are interested in forensic psychology. Spent the class writing at least six peer-graded papers, all of which are straightforward if you follow the rubric. Quizzes were a bit tricky, but Ramsdell will give points back for unfair questions. Going to lectures help. Hilarious guy who describes his experiences.
Professor Ramsdell has been one of my favorite professors I have had at Mason. His lectures are incredibly engaging. The main assignment during the course is very interesting and doesn't feel like work. I haven't taken a class like this before and would be more than glad to take this class again.
Professor Ramsdell is the absolute best, he is someone who makes you want to attend class. He is very understanding, caring, and funny. His lectures are not boring, assignments are fair and quizzes every Sunday are not even hard. I definitely recommend taking him!
I've taken two classes with Dr. Ramsdell so far, but I would take more if possible. He is an amazing teacher and is very clear on his expectations. He is also an extremely understanding prof. HW consists of weekly quizzes and papers, but the guidelines are very thorough. Take this class if possible!!
I'm taking 381 and 382 with Ramsdell, and I love both classes. The quizzes are straight from the PowerPoint, the rubric for the papers is straightforward, and since they are peer-graded, they are graded leniently. Besides being easy classes, Ramsdell's lectures are great. He's really casual and funny and makes them very interesting.
Easy A and a fun class to be in. Win win!!
My favorite prof, hands down. Super knowledgeable, encourages students to ask questions, talks about real-life experiences, very funny, very well-spoken. Very little work required outside of class. Quizzes and tests are straightforward, just pay attention during the lecture and you'll be absolutely fine.
The best professor i have ever taken at mason! it was a 9 am class and i never missed one because he was always so interesting and funny, he shared his own life experiences, the quizzes every sunday are straight from the powerpoints and the papers are not super hard but do require some effort
Absolutely LOVE this man. He is so funny and his lectures are amazing. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but he sometimes includes specific lecture material in the quizzes. His papers have clear grading material and does peer grading.
great professor. the cases we learned about were highly interesting. I learned a LOT in this class. you obviously have to try in this class to earn an A, but if you go to class and follow along with the lecture slides you'll be set. A paper one week, peer reviews the next. one weekly quiz open-book untimed. TAKE HIM he is amazing, kind and respected
Took him for many other psychology courses, great professor! His classes aren't boring or super long. We had a quiz due every Sunday with a writing assignment as well, nothing complicated, simple and quizzes were open notes. He is very easy going and explains things in the most simplest way. I would 100% recommend him! Just attend class to pass.
Was one of the best professors I have ever taken and would take him again in a heart beat. He is so knowledgeable and will make you laugh and want to go to class everyday. He is very understanding and lenient so take him if you can, he was the best and you wont regret it. It is almost impossible to not get an A in his class.
Dr. Ramsdell is an amazing professor. The two courses I've taken with him have been my favorite so far. He hates textbooks and tests, he prefers quizzes and powerpoint lectures. He is easy to reach by email and very understanding if you have any issues. He makes his classes very fun. I 100% recommend taking him.
There are six papers throughout the semester that are really easy!! They are peer-graded and he gives you the template for all of them. He's extremely understanding outside of class. The lectures are amazing and really easy to follow. If you can, definitely take him!! The content is hard, but he makes it easy to understand.
Professor Ramsdell has been one of my favorite professors I've had ever. He's very funny, caring, and his lectures are actually interesting. This class is amazing with him teaching it and I learned so much. The assignments aren't just busy work and as long as you come to class the quizzes are easy. He's laidback and very accessible and fair. 10/10.
I 100% recommend anyone taking a forensic psych minor or concentration to take him. His lectures are amazing and he's hilarious. He assigns weekly quizzes and six papers, but the papers are peer-graded and he outlines everything for you. No textbook is required either. Take him if you have the chance!!!
Everyone loves him. Great lecturer + funny. He deviates from the syllabus in assignments sometimes but it's fine cause he's an easy grader. Little to no assignment feedback, but his classes have like 130 people so I get it. He brings his German Sheppards in sometimes so take him if you want your semester dose of the best dogs ever. Engaging & fun.
DILF. Taken lots of his classes, every single one is amazing. Interesting lectures, really funny. He sets clear criteria and grading standards and is super flexible and understanding. Super interesting content. Could not recommend him and this class more.
I took his PSYC 381 and PSYC 382 class during Fall 2023. For PSYC 381, there was a weekly quiz and six papers that are not difficult (there is a detailed rubric). In PSYC 382, there was a weekly quiz and assignment that takes maybe 30 minutes. For the quizzes, I would recommend going to the lecture and taking the quiz while in class.
One of my favorite professors I've had at Mason. I wish I could take more of his classes. His class is mainly lectures but they go by fast and he normally ends class early. Grades are made up by weekly quizzes and six papers. The papers are peer graded and he holds your hand through it. Very easy to do well in his class. Great guy.
Really awesome professor. Lectures are interesting and you will learn a ton in this class. Attendance is not mandatory but the quizzes are much easier if you go to class. Papers are a little bit time consuming but very easy.
Super amazing professor. He's hilarious and very knowledgeable. Attendance isn't exactly mandatory, BUT there are questions on the quizzes that are only answered in class during the lectures and are not on the slides. Go to class! He's so fun you won't regret going.
Awesome dude. Super funny and caring. Take him! His classes are super interesting. Attendance is not mandatory, BUT quizzes have questions that he only answers while speaking in class.
I had Professor Ramsdell for PSYC 381 and 382 and he's easily my favorite professor I've had at GMU. His lectures are amazing and he only grades you on a short writing assignment and a quiz each week. Quizzes are open note as well. Overall, he's a great professor, and take his class if you can.
Dr. Ramsdell is an amazing professor. His lectures are very interesting, you will never be bored in that class. There are 6 papers but they are super straight forward. He does not believe in tests. He does assign weekly quizzes but they are open note.
One of my favorite professors and classes at Mason! Weekly open note quizzes and assignments that are easy to complete. If it's in-person GO TO CLASS, he has audio recordings that he doesn't post online. (Honestly if you can take this online asych... do it it'll save you a lot of time.) Great psych class for non-psych majors and an easy elective!
dr. ramsdell is an AMAZING professor. attendance is not mandatory but his lectures are so interesting, i'd recommend going anyways. minimal workload but you will learn a lot from him. weekly workload is minimal (1 open-note quiz on lecture and 1-page written assignment) with no exams. his lectures are a perfect mixture of informative and funny!
I took him for 381 and 382. He is such an amazing professor and his lectures are so interesting! I would recommend going to class because some things mentioned in his lecture are included in weekly quizzes and thats the only place you'll get that information. Take him!!!! You wont regret it.
I have taken 381 & 382, hopefully I can take 441 soon too. Dr. Ramsdell is a great professor who is passionate about his work. Both of these classes have quizzes due each week but they are easy if you go to class. He doesn't require attendance but most of the information on the quizzes are not on the slides.
This professor is easily one of the top three in my life. He is brilliant, he has so much experience, and he is so humble and caring for students. His lectures are so so entertaining and he has a lot of humor and gives interactive and enjoying lectures. He is very flexible. If you want an amazing experience in college, pick him as your professor.
10/10 He knows what he is talking about, and makes it interesting. The papers had such detailed rubrics and are peer graded, so it is difficult to NOT get an A. The quizzes are a little tricky, but not difficult
The lectures are really intriguing and worth going to. Uses his own experience to teach the class and inspired me to get a forensic concentration. His class is absolutely worth taking, even if you have no psychology background.
A thousand times, yes!! There is one massive paper, but it is broken down over the semester, and a very clear rubric is given. Also, weekly quizzes are based on the PowerPoint presentations in class. Don't skip class. I have learned so much; he also talks about other cases he's worked on! He is the best professor at Mason!
This professor is one of the best. He is brilliant, has so much experience, and he is so humble and caring for students. His lectures are so entertaining and he has a lot of humor and gives interactive and enjoying lectures. There's a quiz and an assignment for each module. No final, no midterm, no group work.
Love this prof! The activities were very doable- no crazy long essays that required weeks of research. If you sit in the lectures, you'll be GOOD for the quiz and activity. He's so funny too! Highly recommend coming to class as he'll say/show things for the quizzes that aren't directly in the slides. And he brought his dog on the last day!!
I love taking Prof. Ramsdell's courses. He teaches from his personal experiences working in the field. You follow 5 people throughout the semester and primarily one woman. It's 6 papers in the semester which are long but he gives you a rubic that says what to write. There's also weekly quizzes which are easy if you go to class and look at the ppt.
The semester is not over yet but I love this professor, he is so funny, makes class so fun and I learn so much!!! He speaks on his experience, he KNOWS his job. His assignments are not hard if you are in class listening and reading the reports. Just listen, do the work, and I am sure I will be good.
He is a nice professor. Class material is easy to understand. For this class, we listen to victims talk about crimes that impacted them. We had to take quizzes and one assignment every week. The quizzes aren't timed, and they are pretty easy. Assignments are easy. Class hasn't ended, but I would take him again.
I am so sad I am graduating, Ramsdell is the best professor I have ever learned from! In this class, we listened to interviews of crime victims, took a weekly quiz, and completed a corresponding assignment. No textbook or exams. I will miss you, Ramsdell!!!!
Dr. Ramsdell is an amazing professor. I have taken 381 and 382 with him and he is the best professor I have had. He makes lectures fun and engaging, he tries to lighten up the class when a serious topic comes up, he respects all students, he knows what he is talking about when it comes to this stuff. 100% recommend.
Absolutely amazing professor, great engaging lectures and super funny. just be sure to show up to class because audio clips that are referenced on quizzes are only accessible in person.
He brought back tests because people cheated. Those people ruined it bruh
His lectures were engaging, and he found ways to make it funny, even for a 9am which is rare. He assigns out 6 papers for the class (all becoming one cumulative paper) along with two tests, the midterm and final, both are which open note. You can tell he knows what he is talking about and is passionate as well. Overall great class and professor!
His class had 6 papers (forming one cumulative final paper) alongside 2 exams. All the information needed for the papers is on Canvas, and he has VERY clear rubrics so it's hard to mess up. The tests are open note as well. Overall he was a great professor, his lectures were engaging and funny, and he was very friendly during office hours.
Professor Ramsdell is an amazing instructor. He lectures off slides, which he provides online for us. However, he adds a lot of information when he's speaking that you won't get if you skip. His weekly assignments are straight forward but quizzes can get confusing. He's more than willing to help if you contact him. If you like forensic psych, join!
The best most entertaining lectures ever, he's genuinely really into what he teaches which makes learning from him more interesting. He has insane stories and it's really fun to listen. Attendance isn't mandatory, but sometimes on exams there's questions about things that happen in class which you can only answer if you were in class.
I have never respected and been inspired by an educator so much. He is always so honest and relatable but knows how to keep it professional. Excited to take more classes in the future with him.
Absolutely amazing professor!! He is very wise and well respected as it is well deserved. He is very helpful. Show up to class take notes as necessary, remain in correspondence with him about your goals and academic progress, that is all the material you will need to be successful within his class. Always looking forward to his classes
I have taken 2 classes now with Dr. Ramsdell, and he is far and away my favorite professor. SO funny, so entertaining, and so experienced in his field. I never skipped any of his classes because every day was fun or interesting. 441 can be intense because of the content, though. To quote Dr. R: "This whole class is a trigger warning." My GOAT
The testing environment in this class was extremely distracting and not well-managed. Students were allowed to sit anywhere, including on the floor, and the room often became loud during exams. This created a chaotic atmosphere that did not support focus or academic integrity. Also students grade your papers which also isn't very credible.
