He is very clear in his book and in lectures, however, he does not provide any sort of exam prep. There were not practice tests, previous exams, key concept lists, or even practice problems in the book. He is a funny lecturer, but he calls on random students in large lectures (400+ students) and that caused major anxiety for some students.

Professor Wolfers' lectures are very funny and engaging but can feel really long after a few weeks of class. The lectures are good and he's an extremely good teacher but he goes too fast. Also, tests are extremely difficult as compared to the material on the lectures and there is no help/resources whatsoever. Wouldn't take Econ 101 with him again.

Wolfers is a crack up! He also uses real world, relevant examples to explain things which keeps me engaged. That and his Australian accent. He is a new professor though so it's hard to know what to expect on tests. The second one was pretty difficult, but there's a curve at the end of the class so it's not like everyone's going to fail. Professor Wolfers is a very charismatic guy and very good at teaching the concepts of ECON 101, but the exams, although curved, are surprisingly difficult and long, especially for an introductory level class. Nevertheless, it's a good introductory class for learning basic economics, although not as easy as you might think.

You could tell he liked economics, but for an intro level class it was much harder than it needed to be, even when doing all the lectures and assignments. it is test heavy and the test is never similar to the previous years' practice exams. i would look for a different professor unless you are really really into econ.

Very engaging lecturer, funny guy and passionate about economics. I heard that his exams are more difficult than the other Econ 101 professor, but also the class is also curved so that 40% of students will receive an A- and up. There are also mandatory (graded) pre-lecture readings, which I found tedious but helpful in the long run.

The lectures in this class were super engaging, but quite long, and all of the information covered in class is already in the textbook and on the slides. Wolfers is very funny and an engaging speaker. This class has some very challenging exams.

Wolfers was an engaging professor and his lectures were funny. However, the tests were quite difficult if you only looked over your notes from class. Discussions aren't mandatory, but they give you half the info you need for tests. Wolfers just talks through the readings that we did for hw during class. Not the best professor but not the worst.

Engaging professor but if you arent going to be a econ major take a different professor for this class. His tests were more difficult than other classes and the tests are weighted pretty heavily. Lecture won't have the main material on the test but discussion will. GSI will make or break, mine was confused most the sem and couldn't explain anything

Very engaging and incredibly funny professor but if you are not an Econ major (I am not), I do not suggest taking this class. There is more coursework + rigor than other professors and the lectures mainly just go over exactly what the pre-class reading says (which is graded so you have to read them anyway). Overrall not a fan

Professor Wolfers is extremely knowledgeable and genuinely invested in his students' success. His lectures are engaging but often repetitive, closely following the slides. Your GSI plays a big role, so build that connection early. Stay disciplined, once you fall behind, the class becomes challenging, like a snowball rolling down a mountainside.
