yes its true dr. York is smokin hot. Hes cool and laidback, however, dont underestimate, his exams challenge you to master the material, but he is ALWAYS willing to clarify any questions and very helpful in doing so. I recommend him!

Dr.York is one of the best professors I've had at GCC. The material is hard, but Dr. York is always explainig everything more than twice. he is lay back and fun, but don't let that fool you his exams are challanging.

Dr. York is a great teacher! He keeps class very fun and interesting. Course is VERY challenging but he is there to help you and is very willing to if you just ask. Although, it was a little hard to concentrate at times cause he is VERY hot! All in all, great class! STUDY HARD!

Dr. York's class is pretty dang hard, but I often times catch myself not concentrating on the material because I am too busy looking at him! He's smokin'! lol.

His lectures are great and is always willing and available to help clarify difficult topics. His exams are very hard but if you study and are able to write essay style answers can connect the dots you will be fine...it is true sometimes you can get distracted by his good looks! He is a great teacher and knows his stuff! GCC is lucky to have him!!

Professor York is a great teacher. He is hard, however if you study hard, use the tools he gives you, show up for classes and ask him questions it can be a rewarding time to prepare you for the next class

Dr. York is one of the most helpful, hilarious, and nerdy professor I have ever had. He keeps the subject fun and interesting. Provided open labs for the practicals and was willing to answer ALL my questions. Study hard for this class,his tests are not that easy. I can't wait to take Bio202 with him!!!!!!

Dr. York is an awesome teacher! But, the class is extremely hard if you don't study, Bio 201 and up are extremely different than the regular bios so brace yourself and prepare to learn new study habits. Plus, he is extremely good looking as well.

My first semester of college was scary at first. I am so glad i was able to have Dr.York! He challenges your knowledge, but as long as you stay on top of the studying..he makes the class so easy and interesting. Its a good class! You will learn a lot with him. I am def taking him for BIO202!

Dr. York is an amazing teacher. He goes above and beyond for each and every student. He is very wise for being a young HOTTTT man but knows his stuff really well. He is also perfect for Lab because his muscles are perfect for demonstration (that was distracting but nice). Over all.. Great for any BIO classes! Take this guy!

Holy cow A&P as a summer class? I was scared but Dr. York is an amazing teacher, Very clear and very willing to help. Great lectures and fast paced labs. Need to keep on top of every days power points. Quiz every day (5 multiple choice) exams are basically 75% multiple choice and 25% short answer. If yu put the time in you will do well. Pete J.

Great instructor. Speaks very clearly and you know exactly what he wants you to know. Yes, he is hot - this can be annoying because the girls in class fall all over him, it's embarrassing. Get an older textbook!

Dr. York provides a plethora of study material for you to utilize for his class. He also has student assistants to provide tutoring on campus and he is always available during his office hours or before or after class. He really goes that extra mile for his students because he truly wants you to succeed. Highly recommonded for anatomy.

So far the best professor I've had while attending GCC, very clear instructions, GIVES you the resources to succeed, NEED to put in the study time, taking his fall Bio 202... The class is great P.S take advantage of his supplemental instructors, very helpful.

Trust me, he is the greatest teacher I've ever had in my entire life. Always made us keep on track. Tests, practicals and quizzes were super easy even though English was my second language. Because he taught in an easy way. He is very patient, handsome person who posts grades right after the class. I love this teacher and enjoyed taking his class.

great teacher. very very helpful with all the resources he provides. he makes the stuff interesting but you do need to go to class everyday and ask questions when you are confused. he has mini quizs every other day, practicals and exams. they are multiple choiced some essay. and about 5 extra credit for the tests. overall a good teacher. just study

Mr. York is an amazing teacher. BUT, you must go to class EVERYDAY to really grasp the material. It is soo much information coming to you at once. You must take advantage of the S.I hours do the study guides go home re read all notes daily. Great teacher very CLEAR and EASY to understand. One of the best teachers Ive ever had at GCC.

York is an EXCELLENT professor! He provides you all the tools you need to succeed in the class. Material is clear, organized and he's very helpful. Tests are fair, right from what you learn in lecture, no tricks. Narrated online lectures are awesome supplement to harder lecture concepts. Took him for 201&202,high A's in both. TAKE HIM! Hot? Dr. York is an EXCELLENT teacher.da tests r exactly what he leactues n da powerpoints r very helpfull bcause they r a simple summary of da textbook.York is also a lean guy, he is not strict at all.I guess the only bad thing will be that there is only tests,quizes,n practicals for his class so if u r doing bad der dan its hard to bring ur grade up

Dr. York is a professor who genuinely has a passion for what he teaches. If you want a prof who is really going to teach you bio202 and is always willing to answer questions, take him. His class isn't easy but if you put in the effort, it'll pay off. Loved his class!

BEST INSTRUCTOR EVER!!! Our Lab practical average grade was an "A". He only tests you on the material that he lectured. He gives you all the information about test, such as study guide and practice practical. I got a "A+" in his class.

He is a good teacher but never lectured enough on the material he was going to test over like the main concepts. I studied a lot and still didn't do as well as i had hoped on the exams because they were a lot different than i had expected considering what he lectured over. Be sure to study EVERYTHING even if it wasnt lectured on very long

Dr. York is a awesome instructor. His way of teaching is very helpful for future courses. He doesn't want you to memorized materials. He really wants yo u to understand and be able to explain material rather than just pure memorization.

Dr. York is the bomb! He gives you everything you could possibly need to fully understand the material. This class is a lot of work so keeping up with material is a must. After that however, the concepts are not overally difficult to grasp. Taking him for 202 and 205! Definitely the best A&P teacher at GCC!

Dr York is by far one of the best teachers I've ever had. The class was tough and I put in a lot of work but he gives you everything to be successful and enjoys the material which comes through. I learned so much in the course and really enjoyed it. Expect to work hard and study often, tests are challenging but an A is do able if you work hard.

Dr. York is a really great teacher. He teaches in a way that will force you to know the material so that you can apply that knowledge in any kind of application. It's very conceptual learning. And it has to be if you're going into much harder classes after this. You will be glad you took Dr. York if you move on into the medical field.

Love Dr. York. He challenges you and makes you LEARN the material.You aren't going to skate by in this class, you have to work hard but an A is possible I learned so much that I will take with me into Nursing. He's amazing, helpful and just enjoyable all around. Highly recommend him I wish I would have had him for 201 Plus he's easy on the eyes!

Dr York is a good professor. His tests/quizzes are tough and really makes you think. Its generally no straight forward questions, but great teacher. He provides you with everything you need, just have to put in the work and understand the material. Hes always available if you have questions. Glad I took the class with him. Good teacher! Professor York is a cool guy. He really cares about his students, he says some funny things during lab and lecture to make it more fun. He is a young guy and really cool. His class is hard because all bio201 have to be. It just takes dedication. At first it's overwhelming but it gets better. No homework just spend time studying. You learn a lot!

Dr. York is by far one of the best professors at GCC! He cares about what he does, which means he cares about your success. The material is pretty easy to understand and lab too. Attend lecture, he gives out questions for extra credit. And study the study-guides and you'll be just fine! :)

Dr. York is an amazing professor. The class is far from easy, you definitely need to study but he's very clear on what he wants. After taking his class I have an appreciation for Anatomy and Physiology and I make connections all the time. Passed with a C+, but I was also taking 17 credits. Study, you can pass this class as long as you work for it.

Dr. York is a great instructor! Absolutely loved him! He made Microbiology very entertaining! Every class that I need for my degree that he teaches, I am taking! He is absolutely amazing and have learned a lot! He makes sure you understand the material. If you have any questions, he is there for you. He cares!

DR. York is an excellent professor. He fully understands microbiology, his teaching skills are well executed in each class, responds to emails timely, and seems to genuinely care. If you do not have a photographic memory, I would highly recommend WRITING out his study guides a minimum of 3 times prior to the exam to get an A. Really neat class.

Dr. York is amazing!! He makes micro so interesting and appealing. His knowledge on the subject is just awesome. Tests are the usual make sure to do the objective sheets he provides for each exam. Extra credit is given but you have to attend class. Overall I would take him again future courses.

Lab was super fun!! York is a great teacher and can really relate to his students. He genuinely cares and it shows in his teaching. Always willing to help. And he is great on the eyes. Loved his class!!

Dr York gives you ALL the material needed for exams. He uses lots of scenarios of friends he knows for diseases, to bring real life situations to his lectures for better understanding. Good teachers are sometimes hard to come by, Dr York is one of the best. He gets grades to you immediately, and answers emails right away. Yes,TAKE HIS CLASS!!! :)

He is really friendly and always willing to help. I would really recommend this class. Ps. if you are taking HCR 240, save your notes from this class. They will come in handy.

His test aren't a piece of cake but are doable if you study. He was kind enough to round up so I could pass the class. I am so thankful he did that! He is definitely worth taking!

He is a very boring teacher. His lectures are very dry. York is a smart guy and gets along well with students, but I just didn't take much away from his lectures. I was doing well at first since he offered voice over lectures you could listen to at home. Near the end I missed a few lectures and paid for it cuz he didn't have time to make em.

Awesome teacher. Has you do online open book quizzes (which direct you to the location of the required text) so when you go into lecture, the class is WAY more meaningful. I will definitely be taking Dr. York again!

Dr. York is a great teacher, but his lecture exams can be on the tough side. For this class not only do you have to study, but you need to understand the material he gives out. You will not pass if you don't. He cares about his students and is always available to help if you are struggling. Also, he does clicker questions or extra credit.

I hear a lot of people complaining about the material but that's just the course. He does a great job of explaining everything. Although there isn't much homework you have set aside at least an hour or two a day to study if you want to pass. He's easy on the eyes too.

Dr. York was awesome! I couldn't recommend him enough. A lot of people dropped out through the semester because his tests/the material were difficult BUT it's microbiology, It's not supposed to be easy. He definitely makes you work, but he lets you know what will be on the test and what to focus on while studying. I'm so happy I took him!

Dr. York is the best professor I've had in college! His class is difficult if you don't keep up but otherwise not bad at all. I was intimidated by micro for no reason, his narrated and in-person lectures are extremely comprehensive. He has clicker questions that can add 5 points EC for each exam. Drops lowest lab quiz & No book req. Great class! :)

Dr. York is a great professor, he is very open,friendly, and understanding. He speaks in a perfect tone of voice especially for students like me with English being their 3rd language. He makes the lab easy, and his class will help you in the long run. He helped me with 201, and after taking his class, Pathophysiology is a review to me now.

I took the bio 205 hybrid class with Dr. York and I loved it. He makes the subject easy, interesting and he is a wonderful teacher. He offers plenty of extra credit with clicker questions. He actually interacted with us and cared if we were understanding the material. It definitely is not an easy class and requires studying but it is interesting.

I recommend Dr. York only if you are really dedicated to work hard and learn. He is an amazing professor who is available for you 24/7 to answer any questions. He takes feedback and implaments it to make class easier and better for future students. He is overall one of the best professors in the biology deparment. Good luck!

So far Professor York is the best biology teacher I have had. I was terrified to take microbiology because of how hard I heard it was. However, his lectures, quizzes, clicker questions and narrated lectures really set you up for success! If you look over the materials and study you will definitely get an A. He is great and cares his students!

Justin is a phenomenal professor. Going into this class, you have to realize that have to study every day and work hard for a good grade. If you go into the class thinking it will be easy, you will not pass. He cares about his students and has tests in the lecture and the lab almost every week. Be prepared to work hard.

He's an okay guy teaching a hard subject - there are people in his classes on their 3rd or 4th round trying to pass. He does his best to help you out and make the material easy but practicals with KILL your grade. The lec tests are way easier so you can bomb the practicals and ace the tests and be okay. He's a sexist though so watch out.

He is a really good instructor. I enjoyed his class very much and I learned a lot. He keeps you engage with his clicker questions.

This by far is the best Professor I have ever had. His teaching style is amazing. I learned so much from him. Gives plenty of extra credit and study guides for each exam ahead of time. You can email and visit his office hours when you need help. He also has recorded lectures available for you through canvas. Which was super helpful.

If you get the chance to take Dr York, do it! He made micro so fun, interesting and gave great handouts. I took his hybrid class and loved that I was able to listen to the lectures on my own time as many times as I wanted. He does have quite a bit of long answer questions on his exams but as long as you remember the key points you're good.

York will give you the resources to succeed but it is up to you to study the ins and outs of everything. Tests are super difficult and you can only have 1 letter wrong to get partial credit during practicals. The test are multiple choice but are insanely hard. Good luck.

I took a hybrid Micro course with Dr. York and I am so happy I did. We learned with a combo of narrated lectures w/follow up lectures on key topics. Note taking was a must for me during the narrations. He gave exam objectives that are helpful for the exams. He also gives you the opportunity for extra credit thru clicker questions. Labs were fun.

Loved this class!! He's a great teacher!! He gives alot of extra credit opportunities. Lecture and lab only once a week. Definitely would take again!

Makes material fun and clinically relevant. Grade is based on tests and quizzes. In 202, he reinforces lecture materials with easy lab activities that are for credit. Has study guides and extra materials for all tests. Welcomes questions and has good lecture notes. He is really funny and enjoys joking around with the class.

Took his class for the summer. Gives extra content to assist his teaching and applies what we learn to life. Displays his expertise in the field and answers any questions with detail.

I took this class over the summer. I am so amazed at how organized he is. His pre-uploaded lectures were so amazing - so much so I didn't have to purchase the textbook. He didn't make us purchase the lab book either. He is very knowledgeable of the subject so he had the ability to explain the concepts in terms that were understandable to us.

Dr. York is a great teacher, but be ready to go over all your lectures before class. Class time is used to get clarification on the topics and review for the exam. IF you are one that does not want to put in the extra effort outside of class I would not recommend him. He proves great feedback and is truly passion about his career!

Dr. York is not a bad professor. His test are ridiculous. You study very hard for the exam and the questions are confusing and not straight forward. His Lab quiz are just as ridiculous ou learn mostly on your own, his class is very hard. You take quizzes before lecture, it's just as hard as an exam. Takes 2 hours to answer 10 questions.

These types of classes are hard. Dr. York's lectures are good at explaining hard things in an easy way to understand. His objective lists often have short answers listed in them. Not all questions are on it but, if you master the concept it will help on tests. He also has many lessons narrated, which helps to go back over for understanding.

Best professor I have taken! If youre willing to take the time and put in effort into the class youll pass. It was a hybrid class which was awesome because you can always go back and listen to the lecture. But you do have to do your part in order to pass the class. But I do recommend him for anyone taking BIO205.

I took professor York back in fall of 2019, he was amazing, his lectures are very thorough and understandable, he made sure that each student succeeded and does his absolute best to give all the needed information

This course does take memorization and actual studying. BUT, Dr. York is an amazing teacher with a positive attitude. He is consistent. Encouraging the student's journey. He always grades work when he says. Provides objectives leading to success in exams. Provides online recorded lessons, so out-of-class studying is easily accessible. Contactable.

Professor Yor does not require the textbook, but he will occasionally reference it. He is very straight forward, blunt and does not tolerate a lack of effort. If you put in the effort and give it your best he has no problem helping answer questions you have and giving you different ways to look at materials.

Dr. York is an outstanding professor! His lectures are detailed, study material is provided & relative to tests, he is personable, & makes funny dad jokes. He doesn't require textbook, but I found mine to be extremely helpful. This class does require a ton of studying and focus but if you put in the time, it is achievable to get the grade you want.

Dr.York is an amazing teacher and a great person.If someone doesn't like him it's probably because they're not doing the work they're supposed to.He will teach you everything you need to know and you'll do great if you study. No free A's and that's how it should be.His grading is absolutely not though.He gives extra credits and a great study guide.

I took this professor for Bio 201 and 202. He is an amazing professor that makes Anatomy and Physiology more simple to understand but obviously no matter how great a professor is, A&P is a really hard class that requires studying outside the classroom. He is funny and is clear about what needs to be studied for a test.

Dr. York was an amazing teacher his lectures were very well put together and very informative. I like how he broke up the exams according to the lectures it wasn't overwhelming at all. He explains things in a way that you will definitely understand. If you are taking bio 205 I definitely recommend taking this class with him.

Difficulties of memories or slow comprehension disability must study 1000x &memorize . Sharp memory is necessary. home quizzes items like 5-25 items must be done b4 due date. Majority of Grade is the exams u must pass, few essays. lecture exams tricky(hard); poor memory poor scores. Always asks if confused. Bones and muscles need to memorizes.

He was an amazing teacher !! he really cared about all of us students and pushed us to have the best grade in the class. Super helpful with everyone and his teaching is great.
