She has an accent but something you can deal with. If you have questions and/or doubt just ask. She is very helpful.

She is really helpful, and she understands when you have a problem and you couldn't go on a test day. The only thing is that she makes math complicated. She starts talking and talking and giving weird examples, so you get really confuse. I recomend you to take her class bause it is easy. Just 5 test and a few homeworks before tests.

She's a very good teacher. She makes sure that all the steps are laid out and understood. If you have questions, she doesn't mind going over the problems until you get it. Her objective is for you to learn the material. Her tests are not multiple choice & she wants to see the work. If you put in the effort you will definitely pass her class.

Take her! Shes great! all her hw is online due day of the test usually you dont have to go to her lectures but they help with the hw shes stays on task and responds to emails quickly! I kinda love her teaching style its at a steady pace and you dont have to buy the book just get the access code!

VERY EASY. She always sends reviews before the tests and they help A LOT. 10% of the grade is the online homework which is very easy. Only 5 tests and an optional final. Just study the reviews and you'll pass.

I took her for mac1105 and I'm taking her again for mac1147. She is great, she gives a lot of homework but a lot of time to do it too. Tests are not multiple choice but she gives credit for every step of that you do correctly to solve a question.

Professor Castellanos is excellent! She is very knowledgeable in math and teaches accordingly. We had optional online homework; if completed, you get points added to your tests. She is very clear in her lectures and gives many examples. She will answer your questions and repeat examples if she has to. Don't miss class because she uses every minute.

I personally did not struggle at all with this course because I know the material but most of the other students that didn't know the material were struggling. She does teach fast and can be hard to keep up but she will go over anything you ask her to. The online homework was annoying but was definitely a good review for the test.

Ok first things first, her accent is very strong and goes over subjects very fast. She does send homework with the answer sheets and no it is not mandatory but they're just like her tests so it helps ALOT. I barely pay attention in class, I just do my homework and study on my own and I go to her office hours and she is very helpful with everything

This professor was amazing. She really helped me get pre cal like I didn't think I would. If your lazy and don't like homework or studying I suggests you don't take her. She's always available for questions assuming you are doing the homework and have any. Her tests are easy if u pay attention in class and do the homework. Would so take again

Great professor.

I had her for Precal and Calc 1 and I was heartbroken when I found out she doesn't teach Calc 2. She's honestly a great professor and will stop the whole class just to answer your question in detail and won't stop until you understand. She gives extra credit at the end of each test, however don't expect to pass without doing your part and studying.

Amazing. Lots of kids say lectures are not clear and tests are hard. NOT AT ALL!!! she is super nice and i passed with flying colors :)

She does have an accent but it is completely understandable. She really knows what she is talking about, therefore she will answer all the questions you may have. She cares for her students especially if you show you care for the class. She puts an extra credit question at the end of each test. She is not a harsh grader.

very nice lady. few things I didn't like were that she starts class early as soon as she walks in. You can show up 2 minutes late and the board will already be full of notes. another thing is the final is mandatory, your grade is out of 4 tests and the final. which is stupid if you already have an A, she should make the final an OPTION.

Good teacher. She goes fast but you can ask her to explain something and shell slow down. No multiple choice. If you knew the steps but got a wrong calculation, youll still get partial credit. There is an extra credit question in every test. Final isnt cumulative, and gives study guides that are really helpful and are just like the test questions.

She is a great professor!!! She makes Math an easy class. There are 5 tests and a final, which is mandatory, but they are easy. On each test, there is an extra credit question worth 10 points. She also sends the students some homework that help you a lot to study for the tests, and some of the questions will appear on the test. SHE IS THE BEST!!!

she is an AMAZING professor ! she explains everything very clearly and she is willing to go over anything if the students have any questions. she is very very nice and truly cares about her students. she provides you with practice problems which help a ton! attendance is a must because calculus is a tough class. One of the best teachers I've had!

I honestly dont know how people do poorly in this course. There was no homework and 4 exams. The exams were the same as the study guides and problems she does in class. Literally the same exact thing. As long as you pay attention and take good notes you should do fine.

This professor has been one of the best professor I've had. She gives excellent feed backs and try her best to help you pass the exams. If you study you won't have problems with this class. She is AWESOME!

Great professor but tough grader! She's a very sweet lady but if you're not already good at math just know you will have to study HARD. No homework, 3 exams and a final. Must show work to get credit, no multiple choice. If you need to postpone an exam, let her know a week in advance and she will accommodate you. Not mandatory but GO TO CLASS!!

One of my favorite professors at Miami dade. She really enjoys helping students learn the material. If one has to take any calculus class at dade, she is the professor to take.

Professor Castellanos is one of the best professor I had the opportunity to learn from, not only is she passionate about the subject, she is incredibly knowledgeable and cares about his students. Very nice lady and gives worksheets with detailed answers so that you dont have to buy the book. Handwriting can be a bit messy but she doesnt mind at all if you ask questions. Test was similar to worksheet so for me they werent too hard.

Best professor to learn calculus for good. She's always there whenever you need her. She provides best reviews and steps-by-steps solutions, all the material needed to pass the class. She's very kind and respectful, always willing to help. If you study you'll pass, despite calculus being such a difficult class. I'll take her for my next class.

Mac 1033 with her was great. In my opinion she explains everything well and will answers questions without hesitations even if that means repeating the problem again for you. Even if you're bad at math she gives plenty of extra credit opportunities that involve extra torturing! Just go to free lab tutoring you'll be fine.

This is not an easy subejct so if you dont study, you wont pass. Professor Justina is good. She is always available and answers email quickly. I will tame her class again. Her review handouts are pretty helpful. She gives extra ctedict in each test.

This lady is amazing. If you are like me, and need a thorough explanation to understand a topic in math, then this is the right professor. She goes into the why this equals this, and why you can't do this. She is a tough person when it comes to math, but if you put the effort, you will come out learning something new, and feeling accomplished.

The questions are straight from her packets of exercises, so if you do the packets, you will pass. Mandatory final replaces lowest grade. It includes only some topics learned.

I thought Professor Castellanos was excellent. I had her for MAC1105 and MAC2311. The classes are by no means easy but she gives you every opportunity to pass. If you complete all her "packets of exercises" and take the practice tests, you should have no problem at all. I highly recommend taking her.

Professor Justina is very nice. She explained lectures very good since she has a littler bit of accent but she is good. I took MAC1147 and was amazing. Test are 10 or 15 question and it is not hard but you have to study, math is not easy at all.

I took her and don't have any second thoughts about my choice. She actually made me understand and love math. It came to a point where I was doing algebra equations just for fun. No other professor made me understand math the way she did. If I had a question, she was more than happy to explain to me the content in depth. She is one of a kind.

A great class to take if you are truly interested in learning about a subject in depth. Professor Castellanos goes out of her way to elaborate on everything and even connects the material to its real-world applications. Easily accessible outside of class and gives no homework, only practice tests that count as extra credit towards exams.

She is amazing, one of the best math teachers I've ever had. She explains the class very well, even though it's a lot of topics. This is not an easy class for those who don't like math or don't do well at math. The textbook is not required. Five extra credits exam up to 10 points.

She covers a lot of topics each class but she's really knowledgeable and can make you understand the content. She's not for students that just care about passing or that hate math. The grade is composed by the average of four exams with a mandatory final that can replace the lowest grade between those. She gives practice tests for extra credit.

Super knowledgeable professor, but she's not for people who dislike math. Lectures are heavy with content and the exams aren't too easy. Textbook/attendance not required, no homework, worksheets with answers for studying, extra credit practice exams on Blackboard, and four exams with a mandatory final that can replace the lowest exam score.

I took her 8 week course their were no home/class work only 4 tests with only 10-15 questions each. Before each test she recommends you do her practice test. It wont affect your grade if you don't do it but if you do, she bumps up 10% of your grade for the real test so if you get a "C" it will be a "B". She just wants to see that you're trying.

If you're someone who isn't good at math I wouldn't take this professor. However, she is so sweet and she's a really good professor. She is accessible outside of class and goes out of her way to help you with any questions you have. ATTEND THE LECTURES! You are only graded by 4 exams. You will be given practice tests that can boost your grade.
