Brand new professor. Does not know how to grade, so he pretty much downgrades everything. You have to get a 100% on every homework in order to do half decent. His final was dreadful and he did not prepare anyone for what he expected us to know. He was about as helpful as a 2 legged seeing-eye dog.

Hands back hw after you take quizzes so it's impossible to do well unless you completely understand. Doesn't cover test material except in an outside review sesh given @ night. If you work or have night class too bad for you. No info. of what was on final except "You are responsible for all you have learned.". Made an easy class horrible!

Extremely clear in lectures, textbook only needed to do homework, really, or for extra practice. Is available for extra help to anyone who needs it, and usually hosts a good review session(one was outside of class, two in class) before tests. Only thing: tests/quizzes are not many questions(usually 6-8), so make sure you really know your stuff!

Professor Ataman is a good choice for 220 but the thing I did not like is that all of your grade is based on your midterm, quizzes, and final test. So if you're a bad test-taker, I would avoid this professor. Also, the questions on the exams was sometimes not like the practice problems or lecture examples.

Professor Ataman was a saving grace for me. I was taking 6 classes and was extremely stressed. Ataman was extremely understanding. he set up private appointments with me and went over the work and questions. the class isn't easy, but if you put in the effort and go talk to him, he truly does his best to help his students out to succeed.

Kaan Ataman is very knowledgeable on the subject matter. I personally struggled in this class because I am a poor test taker and that is mainly what your grade is comprised of. I spent hours and hours reviewing material before exams but there is too much stuffed into this curriculum, it needs to be re-worked or split up.

Kaan is extremely knowledgeable and ALWAYS willing to help! The material can be tricky and requires lots of outside practice, but that is just the nature of the class. Kaan makes sure that everybody feels okay with the material before moving on. Very nice and funny guy. Make sure to go over all practice problems, especially the complex ones.

wonderful teacher and super helpful whenever you need him. Attendance isn't mandatory, but you will be super behind if you skip a lot. The material itself is tricky, but going to class and paying attention will guarantee you an A if you just focus. Anyone can learn the material if he is teaching and you are trying your best.

He is great at explaining things however if your like me and are not an amazing test taker steer clear. He only grades midterms and quizzes and not once the entire semester did I feel like I had enough time to complete the test or quizzes in the time given. He gives practice problems to students which are not comparable to the test/quizzes problems

If you want basic excel lessons that can be easily found on Youtube, he is the guy, but when it comes to grading, he will grade you as if he gave Harvard-worthy lessons. Do not take this guy. He will run through basics and expect you to teach yourself, which doesn't make sense since your paying to be taught by teachers, not on your own.

This class can be tricky if you''re not fully focused during lectures and you don't practice enough outside of class. Typically for exams you should have enough time but for quizzes you only get half of class time so you really want to know what you're doing. 3 exams and 5 quizzes make up your grade so you need to put in serious work to do well.

Not sure that i agree with the negative reviews... He genuinely is one of the better professors that i have had at chapman, and he really truly does care about you as a student. there was an issue with my grade (which he had messed up on) and had fixed the issue almost instantly when i brought it up with him. do the work, and you will pass.not hard

This class was extremely difficult!! You have a quiz almost every week and 2 midterms and a final. These are the only things that your grade is based off of. You barely have enough time to finish any of the exams. The practice questions in the textbook are not very similar to the test and quiz questions which made it extremely difficult to study.

Not sure why this guy has good ratings but I heard other class sections were better. Tough grader. Class content was easy. Time restraints on quizzes were ridiculous. He required so many trials for the trial modeling that our laptops crashed & we couldn't finish. Only remembered to tell us this could happen after the fact when many failed the quiz.

DO NOT take this teacher. Barely any time on quizzes. Super test heavy. Everyone fails the quizzes. Expects everyone to understand what he does as he lectures way to fast everyone can't keep up with him. He also expects every student to be a pro at excel where he also doesn't have any notes or recordings so if u forget a small thing your done.

Nice guy, willing to help but his grade is based on 4 quizzes and 1 midterm and final. His quizzes take a long time and he gives no time and it's nothing like his lectures. His exams are hard as well. Would suggest you take this course with another professor.

You need to come to class! If you skip, you will be lost and fail! His lectures are very fast, and you need to be focused on the full class. If you focus, the quizzes will come to you super easily, and will get an A easily. If you do not focus, it will be very challenging and tedious.

The material is difficult on its own but he gives enough practice material and optional textbook reading to do as well. Make sure to read the textbook before class. Even though attendance is optional, you should definitely go to class because it is hard to understand the material from the textbook solely.

I am so lucky to have taken this course from Prof. Ataman. he made the course challenging but enjoyable. I was impressed with his ability to simplify complex content and make it relatible. I definitely would recommend this professor to anyone. Subject matter is heavy but I feel that I learned a lot.

Professor Ataman is a great guy and I really enjoyed his class. Despite how mundane you think the class will be, he actually makes it interesting. The material isn't easy, but all tests are open note. Attendance is not mandatory, but you will definetly fall behind if you don't show up. Take his class, take clear notes, and show up.

Put in the work, and you will do great. I went into this class knowing zero excel, just show up to EVERY class, pay attention, and take notes on everything. DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS. Kaan is a great professor, but it is a lot of material, and you'll have to practice outside of class. He is the best option for this class!

Ataman was great and so willing to help! He curved quizzes and even ended up dropping our lowest quiz score after the final. Pay attention in class and do the optional practice problems. As long as you put in the work, you'll do fine. Graded on 4 excel quizzes, a midterm, and final all open note. Quizzes are fast though so you need to be confident.

Not to sound negative, but as an almost graduating student this is one of the worst professors I met at this school. Very fast lectures, very difficult quizzes and exams. It sucked having a class grade just consisting of 4 quizzes and 2 exams. No homework to turn in or any projects. This is terrible for someone who struggles with exams !

Great professor, walks you through all the problems during class, and gives you a chance to try the problems first. Your grade is just quizzes and tests. But the quizzes are just what you do in class, and the tests are basically the previous quizzes.

He is an AMAZING professor! This was one of the few classes that I looked forward to attending this semester. He threw no curveballs at you during tests or quizzes. Every question that is on the tests and quizzes, you have done a question just like it before in class. I recommend attending class b/c if not, you will miss a lot of info.

graded by 4 quizzes, a midterm and a final. final is literally nothing like anything else, and the final is the reason i didnt get an A or B in the class. provides practice problems in the textbook, and everything is based on the lectures. so as long as you show up to class and pay attention you will most likely pass.
