Hard to understand and lectures as if you already know the material prior. Lecture style is not efficient or effective for an INTRO chemistry class, and many students fail the class/tests. Do not recommend unless you are very confident in your previous chemistry knowledge.

Very heavy accent. I personally don't really learn anything in lectures but have to go because of the in class participation points that you get around the end of class using the iClicker app. I feel that most people that get what is going on in the class are people who self study/teach outside of class.

Difficult to understand. Uncompromising. He has told students to stop emailing him about issues he caused. When doing I-Clicker, he will talk badly of those people in the class and say, and I quote "I don't understand why you are having trouble with this". I suggest having a tutor on standby because he does NOT TEACH, he reads from a PowerPoint.

I was in a very unfortunate situation where there was no professor assigned to the class until the last minute, and I got stuck with him, otherwise I would have switched to a good professor. His accent is painful, and his lectures teach little of covered units. It's infuriating to see 4+ rating professors on here that I could have taken instead

This professor has a thick accent is literally not understandable what so ever. But, he is kind during office hours.

Class sets you up for failure, you will literally have a full final lab report to do in the week before an exam. So instead of rearranging the schedule to where the final report is the next week (which would be very easy to change), they have it for the week where you need to be studying for the exam, they must think we have no other classes.

All he does is read off of his slides for 50 minutes every single class. His accent is also very thick, does barely any practice problems and just talks the whole time. He also has HORRIBLE handwriting and scribbles all over his slides. To top it all off he looks like gargamel. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR IF U CAN. Just use chat if u have him.

Run, get a new professor. All he does is read off the slides underline things with a pink pen and make fun of other students who get in-class questions wrong.

I don't go to our lecture anymore because I'm not sure whether he knows what he's talking about anymore. It's bad enough I don't understand what he's saying, but his hand writing is even harder to decipher. It takes every single brain cell I have to translate what he's saying and every time it's just regurgitated information from the slides.

He is not a great professor and truthfully is kind of rude. He makes fun of kids who get the problems wrong and only reads off of and highlights every slide. He does give a good amount of extra credit at the end of the semester but I needed a tutor to make sense of his class because he was just not explaining anything + hard to understand.

He speeds through the notes and takes no time to actually explain stuff. He just reads the notes and for our mandatory attendance he insults people who get questions wrong. He cannot speak English well at all and is hard to understand. I would not take his class. I would take any other professor's class; this professor is absolutely horrendous.

Worst professor. Exams will tank your grade, and he does not teach anything that is on the exam. The extra credit review, homework, and test practices do not help at all. Good luck for whoever has to take him.

He did not teach at all. He literally only read and underlined every word during lecture and was mad we didn't understand a thing.

He is a nice person. Bad teacher. He typically underlined the PowerPoints and expected us to understand without anything else. Also blamed us for not knowing content.

He was super difficult to understand and mostly just read off of the screen. The exams were absolutely insane and seemed like they were meant to make you fail. Overall, the class was just bad.

Worst professer I've had… very heavy accent and he just underlines the notes off of a textbook and expects us to understand. He does not submit completed notes so if you missed a class, you wont even be able to email him for completed notes. He scribbles over his own notes so if your a slow typed or writer, good luck…

The professor was not very good at communicating course concepts in his lectures. Otherwise, the assignments and exams were all pretty standard. Additionally, the course syllabus is not transparent at all. The only good thing about this professor is that he was very accessible office hours.

This was the hardest class I've ever taken. He is VERY hard to understand when speaking and writing. He just underlines things from the notes that are taken straight from the textbook, he doesn't add any other information. His Canvas was oddly organized and hard to find information. I only got through this because of the Organic Chemistry Tutor.

Lots of bonus credit and easy homework. That was good. However, the lectures were pretty useless ngl. I just went to get the i-clicker points. Be prepared to teach yourself chem.

Tests are extremely difficult. Professor hard to understand. Funny guy tho!

His lectures are not useful because you cannot understand a word he says. Attendance is not required, but he does iClicker questions which goes into the grade book. There is a lot of extra credit quizzes that will help your grade a lot. Tests are pretty hard, but there is usually a curve because the class average will always be below failing...

This class was awful. You cannot understand a word Kabir says because of his accent, and he reads word for word from the PowerPoint, never actually teaches. Get ready to learn everything yourself. Exams are super hard, but they are all curved because everyone bombs them. Do ALL of the extra credit and get a good lab grade, and you will get an A.

Hardest class I've ever taken. Dr. Kabir reads from a powerpoint and writes the problems out. You can't understand him or read his handwriting so you will have to teach yourself everything. He's also degrading towards students who get answers wrong, and instead of showing them the correct way, will make them feel dumb. Very hard, I would NOT take.

All I can say is that the amount of time this class make me wanna kms, class suck hard to ay attention, lecture HEAVY. The only thing he do is read of the slides and adding into his accents is hard to understand but overtime ig you can somewhat understand it, for the exam look over the slide and do them extra credit.

Awful class, very bad communication with professor. I emailed him multiple times and he never answered until i CCd my lecture professor. He gives no chance for extra credit when every other professor does, and there was enough time for extra credit to be given before the end of the semester. Very bad class.

when I Attended his office hour, I could tell he genuinely wanted to help ME, but I soon as I looked into his soulful eyes I knew he didn't have the capacity to do so. He didn't have the human knowledge to help me UNDERSTAND... as much as I've tried, I have to admit he doesn't have it in him to be a true educator. Sorry,,, Not recommended. Sorry.

He's horrible. He doesn't teach. He reads off slides (WHICH ARENT CORRECT). He doesn't speak english.

This professor can not be understood even if you're in the front row. he does not turn up his microphone volume despite being very soft spoken. If you answer a question incorrectly, you're told you shouldn't be a chemist, and that you don't belong in the class (despite this being a gen-ed requirement by most majors, you can't avoid it).

Unintelligible. Unhelpful and difficult. Avoid at all costs. The best thing that came from his class was getting to learn how to teach myself through YouTube (Then Organic Chemistry professor is great) and slides. Drop him and get another professor before it's too late.

Do NOT do it for your own sanity. I wanted to cry daily. You will learn NOTHING besides maybe an unmarketable tomato. It is passable if you lock in organic chem on youtube and teach yourself EVERYTHING outside of class.

Took him as a required credit, made fun of people who got incorrect answers on the IClicker questions, but at least has a light curve on the exams

Kabir is an awful lecturer who only reads off of the slides, provides little additional information, skips most examples in class, adds questions on exams about material never covered in class or in the textbook, and he only really cares about attendance. He also doesn't explain Iclicker questions when people get them wrong. Escape while you can.

The content isn't very hard; he just has a hard time teaching it. A lot of time spent learning myself from YouTube and not this class. Attendance does matter. Exam reviews are helpful. Lecture slides are helpful. He shames students for getting questions wrong and never explains. Skips lots of lecture slides that are important. Funny sometimes tho.

This guy doesn't know how to lecture, good luck. His teaching style is obscure and he doesn't answer questions ever.

Take anyone else; the content itself isn't too hard but you'll have to teach yourself through other assests like youtube, tutor, or practice problems. He's a little silly but thats the only fun you'll have in this class.

has literally said that if the class average for an exam is a passing grade then the test is too easy. he wants everyone to fail and will laugh when yall do. its a class you gotta take but she yourself some time and just watch YouTube videos and look over the notes yourself during class. and put in some AirPods to draw him out too lol.

Awful class

HE SUCKS. I HAVE NEVER HATED ANYTHING AS MUCH AS THIS GOD AWFUL CLASS.

This is a heavily "Student-Driven" course because he doesn't teach you things other than what you could've just seen in his slideshows. His grading curve is non-existent (0.5-1 point in our last exams), and most of my time was spent re-learning content; also, good luck reading his handwriting.

I genuinely fought for my life in this class. Dr. Kabir reads directly off the slides the entire lecture but then has mandatory attendance. Also, the slides he posts for each unit have so many slides but you can never find the information you need because they are so unorganized and full of example problems(which he doesn't even give answers to).

This is part 2 of "I genuinely fought for my life in this class". Dr. Kabir will VERY rarely attempt to work out a problem in class. You seriously cannot read his handwriting, so they don't even help. Also he will give a "curve" on the exams. Mind you-it was literally one(1) point.

One word. Awful. He is incredibly sour towards his students and he only reads off of slides. Lecture is a waste of time. Then, if you get his attendance questions wrong (maybe two or three people per lecture), he will tell you that you are just waisting your time and his and are incompetent. He's insulting and mean. Don't take his class.

Just a uncaring proffesor. You can tell he doesn't care for the students when hes going through the slides. Practically just reading them and then telling you if you dont understand you need to study. Just learned everything at home to be honest. He was an unneccesary role in my learning. Was better off with a proffesor where i could understand to.

Dude, take any other chem professor, and you'll be fine. Steer clear of this man. Good guy overall, but not so good lecturer or professor. You'll get a better understanding of chemistry if you sleep through every class and watch the organic chemistry teacher later on.

ABSOLUTELY GOD AWFUL. Do not, under any circumstances, take his class. Take a gap year. I didn't look when I crossed the road going to this class. He shamed us when the average was low. He did not work any formulas out and skimmed the slides during lecture. It's obvious he does not know how to teach at all. I felt like my brain was crying in there.

This man is genuinely the worst educator I have ever had the displeasure of encountering. If you have the option to avoid him, or to not take this class at all, I strongly encourage it. The indian accent from him is to the point of being non-understandable, and on top of that, he is a horrible teacher. Avoid at all costs.

Kabir is probably one of the worst teachers or professors I have ever had in my entire life. He reads off slides, get annoyed when you get iclicker questions wrong when we learned the topic ten minutes before, and he does not teach properly. Exams were hard and he only goes over easy math problems and leaves the hard math problems for the exam.

Genuinely the worst professor I've had. He's disrespectful to students, especially towards anyone who gets attendance questions wrong, and he's borderline impossible to understand. If you have to take this class with him, I recommend you either wait to take it with a different professor or take it at a different school entirely. It's not worth it.

I could not understand him. All he does is read off the slides, which are on canvas. He does not teach at all. You will have to teach yourself everything in this class. I literally just went to class to do my iClicker and get my attendance. I played Clash Royale every day in there because I knew there was no point in trying to understand him.

The worst professor at OU. He cannot teach and it's hard to understand him. He shames you for getting questions wrong, and he doesn't care for anyone, and he creeped me out. Literally take any other chem professor.
