She was a great teacher.. didn't take her self too seriously and seemed very interested in the topic, and kept it interesting. my favorite parts were when she told us stories about her crazy son.
Definitely a good teacher. The class was fairly easy. If you come to class and take notes, you can definitely get an A. She made the class laid back and interesting. She is also easy to talk to and willing to help.
she's awesome. the subject is VERY interesting. she's really laid back and makes the class interesting. as long as you study the class notes you'll do fine on the tests.
Notes are the basis for the tests. She's very interested in her topic and the class was easy to understand.
COOL TEACHER GIVES A LOT OF LITTLE ASSIGNMENTS TO PULL YOUR GRADE UP, PAPER WAS EASY BECAUSE YOU DO IT SECTION BY SECTION AND HAVE THE TAS PROOFREAD YOUR ROUGHDRAFT BUT I FOUND THE TESTS HARD BECAUSE ALL WE HAD WAS A MIDTERM AND FINAL A LOT OF WHICH YOU HAD TO CRAM
Excellent teacher, really attentive, not always organized, but really interesting
AWESOME Teacher!!! She was very knowledgeable. I enjoyed her class and I loved the way she broke up our research paper. Her test were kind of tricky if you don't study what she says but she prepares you well for the test so there is no reason anyone should fail her class!
She is a great!!!! teacher. Her lectures are very entertaining and interesting. She is very interested in every subject she teaches. I have had her twice and am looking to take another class from her. Take a class with her, even if you just need an upper level elective credit!
Her lectures are interesting and easy to listen to. The class contains a lot of notes, but the information is easily absorbed because Welsh is a great speaker. This was my favorite class this semester and little reading in the book is necessary.
She is A-W-E-S-O-M-E!!!!! Psych is by far my most interesting/easiest class this semester! She loves what she does and makes you interested in it to. Her final is NOT cumulative and she drops your lowest test score. TAKE HER!!!!!!
makes everything realy easy to understand
My favorite class, I appreciate how she tries to keep the class entertained and involved. She does a good job explaining the material and as long as you try, you should do well in the class.
Welsh was my favorite teacher I had first semester. She is soo funny and she keeps the class very interesting! Her tests are fair and she drops the lowest test grade. I don't know if she's going to keep doing this but for us-- she even let us exempt the final if we wanted to use that as our lowest test grade drop! I loved going to this class.
SHES CRAZY AWESOME. The class is easy to follow. You should go to class because her tests are 99.7% from her lectures. Take her even if its an early class, you wont regret it. To get an A you need to work a decent amount. I took it easy and still got a B. Good teacher!!
Great teacher!
I liked her better in 3260 I think mainly bc it was a smaller class. This 4220 I'm in is her first large lecture class so I think she's still getting the hang of that. She is SO NICE and helpful. She is super passionate about teaching. Tests aren't that hard - make sure you come to class for notes and random attendance checks.
A really fun teacher! Made the class interesting and although there was a lot of material to cover, she provided really good lectures. Tests can be tricky but are definitely from assigned reading and notes. Attendance is recommended as she will give in-class assignments. I liked her class so much I signed up for her again next semester.
Dr. Welsh was a great teacher. She made lectures interesting to listen to and still was able to get the material across very well. You only need to use the book right before a test and she tells you what pages will have info thats on the test. If you pay attention in lecture and read the pages before the test you should definetly get at least a B.
I loved this class! Take her! She is a great teacher. The tests come from her lectures and the videos. A little questions come from the book. She will tell you what to focus on. Basically memorization. Easy A.
Great teacher! Highly recommend! Very knowledgeable. Very helpful. Very nice. Also funny. Every day, I enjoyed this class. Notes: very important. Exams: mostly based on memorization. Take her!
This is definitely one of the best classes I've ever taken. Not only is it incredibly interesting and fun at times, but it's also really easy. Memorizing the notes is all you need to do to make an A. Dr. Welsh is really awesome, and there's a reason why this class is always full.
Very interesting class because she makes it interesting. Very clear notes that translate straight to tests. Come to class to get the notes and you'll do fine. Homework assignments are relatively easy. She's very interested in the subject and will make you interested too!
Dr. Welsh is really cool! She tells personal stories that relate to class topics and she is really open which I thought was awesome. The class is pretty straightforward from the lecture notes, but she does random attendance and doesn't post her powerpoints on elc. Also, her test questions can be pretty tricky, but the final isn't cumulative.
Dr. Welsh is awesome! The lectures are really interesting, and tests are pretty much a combo of commonsense and memorization. HW assignments are easy points.
Class is extremely easy. Attendance is usually not mandatory, although there were a couple of classes (about 7) where it was, and you got points toward your final grade. I did not buy the book and still made an A- in the class. If you attend all the classes or get notes from someone, the book is not necessary.
She is a wonderful teacher. always enjoyed her lectures and she has a great personality. tests are not too hard if you prepare and study notes from powerpoints. shes really cool!
GO TO CLASS! I got a B simply because I missed the in-class assignments, but made an A on the midterm and final, as well as the paper, and never touched the book
DO NOT BUY THE BOOK! Go to class (lots of in class grades) and if you keep up with the work you'll get an A easily. She's entertaining and very clear in explaining the material. Not the most exciting class to go to, but it's required for the major and she makes it palatable. She does make you write a research paper, but some other 3980 classes dont
Love Dr. Welsh! She definitely knows her stuff and always includes interesting stories from her life to make lectures better. I would definitely take her class again! Class is straightforward- lectures, MC tests, and a few class assignments- not hard to follow if you just make the effort!
one of the best psych professors out there! very enthusiastic about everything! read her notes, follow her directions and the rest is easy!
Dr. Welsh is a great teacher. She is really clear throughout her lectures, and going to her class is interesting and fun. I highly recommend taking this course! Her tests are easy and it is not difficult to get the attendance and participation credits.
Welsh was extremely enthusiastic about the subject and was quite knowledgeable as well. It's always impressive when teachers know information that isn't included in the curriculum. She made waking up early to go to class worth it.
professor welsh is awesome. the tests are all very straight forward, there are no surprises. just go to class, take notes, and study those and you'll get an easy A. she is very entertaining as well, she tells lots of stories and relates psychology to her own life in order to make psych easier to learn. the final is not cumulative.
One of the best professors I've ever had. She made a fairly boring class like research and methodology interesting! Her notes are very concise and clear, moreso than the book at times. There is a semester paper, but Dr. Welsh goes over each section in detail and breakouts (only required classes) will help you improve your papers.
Dr. Welsh somehow kept the material in a methods class interesting and not overwhelming. There's a paper, but instructions are straightforward and they keep you from procrastinating. Don't buy the book; her tests are straight from the notes.
awesome class, prompted me to change my major to psych - interesting & engaging. take notes, try to go to class regularly (15 random attendance pts), tests are multiple choice & the prof lets you know what will be covered on test from book that wasn't covered in lecture, great class definitely recommend!!!
Great teacher! She explains the material by providing examples from her own life. Make sure to attend class regularly and take good notes from her powerpoints. I definitely recommend her!
do NOT leave UGA without taking her class! She makes going to class actually fun and interesting. She is amazing and I DEFINITELY reccomend taking her class.
Super funny & knowledgeable! The class required A LOT of memorization since we only had two tests and a final (NON-CUM). One exam would cover almost a month and a half of notes, so yeah, lots of studying! BUT it's very interesting and if you pay attention you'll do fine! Barely opened the book.
Very knowledgeable professor and wonderful lecturer. Class is extremely interesting. Tests cover maybe 2-3 chapters, but it's fairly easy if you attend class and read the chapters. An extremely easy A.
Dr. Welsh was very clear in her lectures. She tells you exactly what's on the test that's not in her lectures. She assigns 30 random attendance points throughout the semester, so attendance is kind of mandatory. If you have the chance, take her!! She's very clear and understandable. She's funny and uses good examples in class.
she is awesome! so awesome that i am taking 2 of her classes next semester. she's nice, funny, and her tests were very straight forward. can't go wrong with her at all
LOVE Dr. Welsh! I took her dev. psych class and it was wonderful! She is one of the best lecturers I have had at UGA, if not the very best. I would take any class she teaches!
Great teacher! There are a lot of notes in class but you can use your computer which is very helpful. Attendance is only mandatory on specified days. Dr. Welsh gives a lot of examples so it's easy to understand the material. The tests are REALLY easy (if you study her notes).
Dr. Welsh is really nice and her class was very interesting. She randomly takes attendance when she gives clicker questions, so it's not a big deal if you miss class. I would recommend her.
never touched the book, interesting lectures (does not post online), need to study to get an A (i got a B with doing the minimum)- go to class- random in-class assignments
This class is a necessary evil for Psyc Majors. It is boring, there is no way around it. Dr. Welsh does a very good job teaching the course: she works hard to keep lectures somewhat interesting. No need to buy the book. Her tests are easy if you go to class. You do write an APA paper that's easy but a bit specific. Lots of busy work, but an easy A
Dr. Welch is an exceptional teacher! She is always very interesting and very funny! Easy to understand and willing to help. The test are relatively easy if you go to class. Overall, alright class but GREAT teacher!
Dr. Welsh is very clear in her lectures. I had her for an introductory class, so she explained everything thoroughly and made it easy for everyone despite your love for psychology. She takes random attendance and doesn't post her power points, but going to class is not a pain. If you go to class and do some basic studying, you will get an A.
Great professor. Her lectures are very clear and interesting. She incorporates video clips into lectures and makes everything very easy to understand. I definitely recommend taking Welsh if possible!
This was a very interesting class!Dr.Welsh is a great professor and really knows her information. Her lectures are very well organized and to the point. If you attend class, pay attention/take notes, and read the sections she tells you to before each exam, you will get an A in the class! Her tests aren't hard and come straight from the info she covers.
Dr. Welsh is a GREAT professor. The class consists of 5 tests and weekly homework assignments of 10 questions. There isnt a final :) If you attend class, take notes, and do the extra reading then you will be fun. The class is very easy. Dr. Welsh is funny and very smart. The tests are all multiple choice. There are no essays or quizzes.
excellent lecturer! really nice professor! however, her tests did not reflect what was stressed in class and had questions regarding the material that one would not care to know and wouldn't matter later on in life.
Easy class. Just show up and take notes and then study them before the test. Her tests are right off the notes. She's pretty interesting and I learned some cool stuff.
Before taking this course, I didn't really have an interest in Psychology. Now I love it! Welsh is extremely funny and uses Youtube videos, Memes, and interesting facts to keep class entertaining. I learned so much from taking her class. I highly recommend taking her! My favorite professor thus far!
Dr. Welsh is awesome. Go to class and take notes, study those and whatever else in the book and you'll get all As. Uses clicker questions for attendance and has super easy online homework. She plays videos and does demonstrations and it really makes the class not bad at all. Definitely recommend.
She is so fantastic! One of the best I have had at UGA. She explains things so clearly and is fair and gives lots of opportunities to boost test grades (like easy homeworks and participation points).
Definitely the best professor I have had so far. Super clear in her notes and instruction. Gives interesting examples to go along with lecture. We had 4 exams, 1 final, and several online homeworks- everything is pretty easy.
Probably the best class I've ever taken in college so far. She made class fun and incredibly interesting while giving us very clear information and notes. We had 3 tests and a final with online discussion work and some papers throughout the semester. She also gives out exra credit opportunities.
Best teacher Ive had at UGA! Fo sho! Her lectures are interesting, she's funny, and incredibly nice. She does a lot to help you out. Her notes and poet points are very organized. The test questions come straight from the notes. Homework is a breeze.
This class is pretty interesting and Dr. Welsh is a great professor. The material is pretty straightforward and it's easy to do well in the class.
Amazing professor. Very clear in lecture and very helpful with all questions. Completely knowledgeable and amazing at responding to and educating ignorant students. Necessary to read the text book, but very interesting material. Attendance necessary for random clicker questions, but you'll want to go, trust me.
Take this class if you can! I was amused with the content, sometimes so much that I forgot I was in class. The downside is that I paid so much attention in class that I didn't think much of studying, and didn't do as well on the first test as I would have liked. SO pay attention and study, but don't worry this is the one class that you'll want to!
Lectures are interesting. Homework is easy and she takes attendance 15 random days throughout the semester. Tests are relatively easy if you study. She also gives 2 opportunities for extra credit. Her class is graded on a point scale. The only negative thing is she refuses to bump you up, even if you're 0.08 points away from the cutoff (like me)
This class is very easy, but if taken for granted can cause what could be a simple A or B to be a grade lower. Welsh is very knowlegdeable of the subject and makes class interesting. She shows videos and gives great examples that allow you to understand the material even better. She does not "bump" up grades no matter how close you are.
Her lectures are interesting and you learn a lot but a lot of the material of the tests are over things that she never mentioned so you have to read the whole chapter of the book if you want to get As.
Professor Welsh is amazing at her lectures, they make the topic even more interesting. Barely any assignments but make sure you study your notes and the book before the test because she asks tricky questions
Dr. Welsh's class is very interesting and very easy to follow. She makes the topic very interesting and is very knowledgeable.
Dr. Welsh is a great professor. Her lectures were informative, interesting, and easy to follow! Her tests were all multiple choice and very manageable if you pay attention in class. I would definitely recommend taking this course and any others she teaches. *She does take random attendance for participation points, so be aware of that!
Awesome professor who genuinely cares about her students success. Second time taking her & wish I could have taken more classes with her!!
She's the best. Her lectures are interesting but you have to go to class because she doesn't post the powerpoint. The tests are manageable, just look over your notes a few times. Do the online homework, its a grade booster & not hard. Just pay attention in class which is easy to do, she sets the class up for you to do well. Love her, TAKE HER!
I was in her first "flipped" style class, so it was different from a traditional lecture, but I really enjoyed. There are quizzes for every class period based on required reading, but it's usually relatively short and doesn't take me longer than an hour to read while also taking notes. Really enjoyed the class!
Dr. Welsh is an amazing lecturer, however her "flip class" layout is the opposite. With the flip class, she gives group activities in class, assigns seating in a 300 person lecture hall, and requires you to go home and teach yourself all of the material. This course required too much work to be enjoyable. On the bright side, the textbook was free.
Dr. Welsh seems to care about what she teaches and is very knowledgeable about the subject. There are 5 tests and the content is based off of the textbook readings and her lectures in class. She flipped our classroom this semester, but usually she lectures more often. We just had to do a lot of reading outside of class.
Essentially we learned about the confusing and important topics from the book after reading about them the night before. By far my favorite teacher I've had at UGA, and Dr. Welsh makes the class very doable if you are willing to do the readings. If you don't read, you probably won't get an A. The class is interesting and Dr. Welsh is just amazing.
If you are taking other classes where you have to read/study a lot, don't take this class. Tests are easy IF YOU READ and take notes over readings. Takes up a lot of time. Class is not boring, but she assigns you into groups and forces you to do useless things. Easy A if you don't skip and read all of the online book.
I didn't enjoy this class at all. First time doing a flipped class, and using a new text book. But, her grading scale was still 93.5, no rounding. She expects you to know every single detail in the text book for the exams, and if you get a 28/30 you've already lost your A. We covered around 30% of the material in class. Easy A-, insane A .
Flipped class isn't very fun, but the class is very easy. You do have to read the book
Dr. Welsh is a great teacher! The classroom is "flipped" so there's definitely a lot of reading on your own, and attendance is mandatory. However, her lectures are interesting and engaging and going to class isn't the worst thing in the world. The textbook is free and as long as you do your readings this class should be an easy A.
Dr. Welsh is incredibly knowledgeable about her field, and I plan on taking another class of hers in the future. Since the lecture hall is huge, it's not easy for her to take small questions, but aside from that, her lectures are very clear and informative. Tests cover a lot of material with no study guide; this is the only aspect I'd change.
She is a really nice teacher and an interesting person. However there are quizzes before every class and has tons of reading. Also she has a flipped classroom setting which makes it tricky.
I LOVED Dr. Welsh. She uses a flip classroom which left us with the whole class period to discuss and watch videos that helped clarify the reading the night before. You can only miss 3 days without if effecting your grade but class is interesting. She is amazing and a great teacher. Take this class if you can no matter your major. She rocks.
If you are taking introductory psychology Dr. Welsh is who you should take. If you go to class, keep with your reading, and study at least 2 days prior to the exam you should get a solid A. The tests are completely reasonable as long as you read the textbook. We did have a lot of quizzes however but they are only a small portion of your grade.
If you don't mind keeping up with reading your book, definitely take Dr. Welsh for intro psych. Be careful because she doesn't bump your final grade at all, but the material is very straight forward. Homework and classwork is easy, so as long as your test grades are good, the class should be an easy A.
Such an awesome class! Dr. Welsh is one of the most interesting and engaging professors I've ever had - I've taken 3 of her classes. As long as you go to class (and trust me - you'll want to), do the reading (which I always waited to do until the day before the test and made an A) and do all of the homework and quizzes, you will do fine!
Dr. Welsh is incredible! You'll never get bored in class because she uses lots of group activities to enhance your learning. She's very funny! However, you do have to read before coming to class. That's the only homework you'll ever have though besides studying for tests. She really makes the class interesting and I learned a lot. Take her!!!
I loved Dr. Welsh! She was super fun and knew a ton about what she was teaching. There was quite a bit of reading since this was a flipped classroom model but she made class very interesting. We also had group activities in class but they were fun. All of the tests and quizzes were multiple choice! She also offered extra credit for each test!
Dr. Welsh is one of my favorite professors. She does assign more homework than the average professor, but the assignments helped me retain the info. Her exams are easy if you study. It's college, get over it! She tells you the EXACT pages to read for the exam so you don't waste time reading other info that won't be on the exam. Very fun class!
While the test require you to reread through lecture notes a few times and read the exact pages she tells you, they are straight from the information we learn- so they are not tricky. Her lectures are really interesting and she does a good job of making awkward topics more fun. Would definitely take her and this class again!!
Dr. Welsh was amazing! Her lectures were fun and interesting, even when the topics weren't. She tells you exactly what pages to read before tests so if you have the book AND attend lectures/take lecture notes, you'll be perfectly fine.
Welsh is one of the best teachers I've ever had throughout my three years of college. She is outstanding- an amazing woman, gives fantastic lectures, easy assignments, and she announces due dates several days in advance and each class period until it's due. The tests are a little difficult, but if you study you'll be fine.
Amazing professor. Gives entertaining & informative lectures. Attendance is via occasional clicker Qs. Tests are all MC, non-cumulative. Papers are easy. Textbook is suggested, b/c some Qs on tests are from it. Would recommend and take another class w/ Welsh again if I could. Possibly best lecturer Ive had so far.
This teacher is awesome. She makes things actually pretty fun and gives you new perspective. Some think her tests are difficult but I didn't at all. If you are somewhat interested in the topic you will do just fine. She busts a lot of myths too- pretty eye opening. Everyone should take this class with her even just for funsies.
Dr. Welsh is the greatest professor I've ever had! She's fun and loves to have fun with the topics we talk about. It really is interesting and eye-opening at the same time. Her tests are specific, but if you study and take notes and pay attention and read, you should be good. The only con is to get an A, it is a 93.5%, rather than the typical 93%.
I love her so much, she's great at explaining the material in a way that's actually interesting. She assigns readings and reading quizzes that are due before almost every class, but it's great bc I would only have to study for tests for like 10-30 minutes since I basically already knew the material. I'd always make high B's or A's on the tests
There are at least 1-2 reading quizzes per week. There are 5 tests and a final. She always gives extra credit. There is a lot of reading for this class and she drops your 3 lowest quiz grades. Class participation is required but she drops 3 of those as well I think. Interactive lectures. Flipped classroom method. Assigns groups and seating.
Wonderful teacher and interesting class! The only thing I did not like is that she uses the flipped class, so there is always homework throughout the week and weekends. It is mostly just reading the textbook and taking a quiz before each class. Overall though, she is a very nice teacher and the class is easy.
Class is already interesting & she makes it fun. There are a few easy readings out of the textbook with quizzes that go along with them & study guides will be posted for every test. Really nice & caring, the only thing that sucks is you have to make a 94 (not a 93) to get an A in the class. Other than that, a solid choice for a major elective
She is by far the best professor I've ever had. She's funny and the way she delievers the material is amazing.
Dr. Welsh is the best professor I've had here at UGA, no question. She is SO knowledgeable and passionate about psych and you can really tell by the way she teaches. She inspired my passion for psychology in psych 1101 and I will never take a psych class with anyone else but her. TAKE HER CLASS SHES AWESOME !!!!!
Dr. Welsh so far has been my favorite professor. She is quirky and entertaining and really got me excited about psych. I looked forward to her class everyday. She uses clicker questions to take attendance and will put you in the same group for the whole semester. I got lucky, my group was great
Dr. Welsh is awesome. She is a great lecturer, and does an amazing job engaging students. She tries to vary the class, and make sure things don't become stagnant. The material is not too difficult, as long as you put some time in.
Her field is sexual psych, so get ready for sexual references. She keeps class interesting w/ different activities within your group. However, she does take attendance *literally* EVERY DAY. So you do need to show up for class. But all in all, pretty easy class. She gives extra credit with each test to boost grade & drops 3 lowest HW/quiz grades.
I adore this woman. She is so funny, and manages her humor with respect for all students. I'm not doing well in her class because of medical problems I faced at the beginning of the semester, but it is a fairly easy course. Straight-forward tests, homework and quizzes. Attendance is taken every day.
Great professor! She's so nice and funny! She offers extra credit for every test, and she drops the three lowest hw and quiz grades. However, she doesn't bump grades so what you get it is what you get. Tests are fine as long as you take notes and study a bit. Highly recommend taking her if possible.
Dr. Welsh is great, but her flipped classroom- not so much. This class is a lot of work for an intro class. The problem with this class is you teach yourself EVERYTHING and in order to get an A you need a 93.5%, so you can only miss a few ? per test (5 tests/1 cumulative final). This class was a lot of work but she is very funny and caring!
LOVED this class! NOT HARD AT ALL. I literally showed up to class, took notes, READ THE BOOK, and aced all of my exams. She tells you what will be on the test. She makes class super interesting. Attendance is for a grade so if you can't commit to showing up to class then prob. don't take this class. Put in work and you'll get an A.
I loved this class; however, it does require a lot of effort especially for an intro class. She provides a checklist to keep you on track & be ready to read A LOT. You will not pass tests if you rely just on lectures & take detailed book notes bc the tests can be specific. Participation is mandatory & you'll be assigned homework/quizzes sometimes.
TAKE THIS CLASS. Great Professor & She Keeps Class Interesting. Literally If You Show Up To Class. Take Notes. Do The Online Quizzes. You Will Pass The Class.
Welsh is a great professor for PSYC 1101! Be prepared to actually do the readings because the tests do not just come from the lecture. The tests can be very specific to readings Welsh makes class fun and boring subjects more enjoyable. She also offers extra credit on every test, including the final exam!
Took PSYC 1101 and seriously loved it. Welsh makes the class so entertaining, the material is truly interesting, and although its a big lecture it doesnt seem as large as it is. Reading or watching Crash Course is assigned nearly every night. Clicker questions for participation in class. Highly recommend
Dr. Welsh is great! Even if you don't need her class, it's interesting, and I feel like it can be applicable to a lot of subjects. Our class was half flipped and half traditional, which was really balanced. Quizzes are super easy and straightforward, and tests are easy too if you study your notes. And the final was just like any other test.
she's the best! Every class is interesting and she ensures that you understand the material.
She gave amazing lectures and made a big lecture hall feel smaller by putting students into smaller groups. There was about an hour of assigned reading from the textbook each night, but necessary to do well on the tests. Also attendance is important. She includes some things in lectures that aren't in the textbook.
Dr. Welsch is amazing. She makes the class very well structured and easy to pass, but you still MUST study and do all the assignments. The tests are focused on critical thinking. She drops 3 quizzes and 3 assignments, has many extra credit opportunities, and always makes class interesting. Note-taking is encouraged, but not necessary.
Dr. Welsh was an amazing professor and would highly recommend her. Her lectures are structured well and you know exactly what's going to be on the test. The class is a little reading-heaving but as long as you keep up, you can do well on the tests.
I took her for Developmental. I like her personality but she makes the class way harder than necessary. The PowerPoints are very wordy and boring. She makes her tests way more difficult than the material.
She comes off with a really cool personality, but her exam questions are not from lecture material or from the textbook. Compared to other developmental professors, she gives tons of unnecessary out of class assignments. Her TA is such a harsh grader that if you leave out one word, they dock you a letter grade. Will never take her again.
Nicest professor I have had at UGA so far. She is interested in teaching the material and makes class as fun as it can be. She cares about her students and suggests good topics to study for tests. I studied the day before all the tests and made an 86 or higher. Final is not cumulative.
Awesome prof, pretty easy course. The human sexuality course she teaches is amazing
Great elective choice! Learned a lot. She's super funny, and is super helpful outside of class. Tests are kinda hard, even if you study a lot. I always was super confident I made A's on the tests, but never made above a B. Otherwise, super great!
Dr. Welsh's class was one of my favorites. She explains things in such an interesting way that I always looked forward to going to her class and learning about psychology. Her class is flipped, which means she alternates between lecturing and making students do group activities and participate more actively. She is so kind, caring, and intelligent.
Tests are super specific so be sure to read the textbook AND lecture notes. Show up every day and take advantage of the extra credit opportunities.
Professor Welsh was an awesome teacher! She was super funny, makes the class interactive, and has a lot of knowledge. Take notes on lectures, read the assigned book chapter, and the homework (usually pretty easy) and you're guaranteed an A.
Prof. Welsh-Morris is a great teacher, really funny, and sounds like Ellen DeGeneres. I genuinely never wanted the lectures to end because they were so interesting, and the tests required you to study and understand the material, but they weren't unnecessarily hard. Lecture based with extra credit-TAKE IT! Interesting videos and guest speakers too
I really loved her class. She made jokes, and really tried to make class enjoyable. Her tests did take some studying, but not an abnormal amount for a class. 10/10 would recommend her as a professor. Her class was probably my favorite that I've taken so far. DO THE HW! It's easy to get full credit on and helps balance your grade.
This class was very interesting and even though attendance was mandatory, you will want to show up. The tests are tricky and require. studying, however 1-2 nights will get you an A if you work hard. Take this class if you get the chance, she is great !!!
One of the BEST professors I have ever had!
MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR
I've never written a bad review on a teacher, but I think this is honest. The reason I decided to take this class was because of the reviews on this website. She is an amazing person and lectures are interesting, but the tests are insanely hard and she grades unfairly on papers. I am a mostly As some Bs student, and I got a C in this class, trying.
I really enjoyed her class. She makes you think critically about the world around you and provides guidance for class discussions. You'll def have to work for your grade, but she's really understanding and if something comes up in life, don't be afraid to talk to her.
Lectures were always interesting with her. As someone with no prior psychology knowledge, I had to read a lot and attend every lecture to make sure I was understanding the material. Luckily, psychology isn't too difficult and her tests are pretty straightforward if you read and pay attention in class.
