This guy is terrible. He is foreign and teaches english. Do i have to say anymore. He talks all hour about nothing and is pathetic. Impossible to get and A on a paper let alone the class. Worst college profesor ever!!

Holy *@#$! This guy is TERRIBLE! You have to get through his accent just to barely understnd what he is saying. Like it was stated before, talks more about Iraq and religious topics than English himself. Needs to stop pushing his views and stick to teaching English. DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY. He talks AIMLESSLY!

He really thinks he is god and when you ask him a question he will go on for 20 mins and not even touch the subject that you asked about. hes from iraq which is not a problem but who allows a guy who you cant even understand to teach english. dont take him because if you do every night you have him will make you pissed off.

Never saw above a 93 on a paper..if you get below 90 on a paper you can kiss your A goodbye. Insults students to their faces. Uses WAY too many commas and semi-colons in his writing. I won't miss hearing about Iraq everyday or how gay people should marry to prevent the spread of HIV...This coming from a man who thinks education is top priority.

WOW, You will never get your way in this class. He is arrogant and selfish. He does not help you if you have questions instead he insults you and makes you seem like you do not know what you are talking about. Iraq and gay marraiges was our topic for the whole semester and it wasnt educational learning it was all his opinions about the two topics.

arrogant, says that he's been teaching english in the US for 20 odd years, yet he still does not know the first thing about the english language. He cannot formulate his own sentences when he speaks, and expects us to learn from it. very bad teacher

Worst teacher of all time. Insulted the Catholic religion (as well as others) more than once. Hates the English language, yet teaches it. Terrible to understand. Self-centered and arrogant, seems to hate women and young people. Insults Americans at every turn. Claims Arabic is superior to English, and the English language has produced nothing

I wish i would have transfered out of this class... it was a waste of my time. He was unreasonable and didn't understand what you meant half the time you tried to talk to him. Save yourself the headache and don't take this class.

Horrible teacher! Probably my worst so far. I would not recommend him to anyone. Just a headache the moment you get there. Very unclear about everything, practically no freedom to write about different types of essays, seemed like he had something against Americans..I tried like crazy to meet the demands and got a C- for a grade!

First, I wanted to kill myself. Then I wanted to kill him and THEN kill myself for taking that class with him as the prof.! Ghastly experience gradewise for most students. very indecisive professor. He tells you to follow the syllabus but then will change it at the last minute and hold you responsible for what ever information he changed.

Absolutely horrible professor. Doesn't follow syllabus. Is very demeaning to students and doesn't give good feedback when you question anything that he doesn't agree with. He teaches more about his personal life rather than what's actually the topic for the day. As well students get the feeling that he talks down about American's.

could not even complete the course with this ****. got way more than half way thru n had to drop it. worst teacher i have ever had in my life, insulting man, very negative. he puts you in a bad mood and makes you not want to come to class. do not take a class with him worst mistake of my academic life.

needs to speak clearly. doesn't know who to spell some simple words and relies too much on the blue books which cost a lot by the end

This man has no place being an English teacher. He cannot even speak the language himself or spell for that matter. He tells us we can use our notes for midterm then changes his mind the day of. Stay away from this teacher if you can or you will be sorry!!!! I dropped him because I needed an "A" and he said he doesn't give them ever.

Mandwee is okay as a person, but completely useless as an English teacher. He is not good at English, closed-minded, class discussions are extremely tense due to his outrageous opinions & thinking that only he is right, and coming to class is useless unless you want a biography of him. Not to mention the syllabus: more typos than correct grammar.

This guy made me feel like I was a horrible writer even though I've always received A's in my other English classes. He made so many ofthe girls in the class cry, it was unbelievable! He is a complete contradiction with the assignments. I missed 3 classes and ended up with a c+ because of that. Avoid him, you will learn nothing!

He can't teach english to save his life. He's not teaching English, he's teaching the way he thinks you should write an essay or book. Very rude and selfish. Insulted everyone who did not agree with his views on thinks like religion or on paper topics like gay marriage or abortion. If you didn't agree with him he made class impossible for you.

I have never took the time to rate a professor but i can honestly say this is the worst professor i have ever had. His tests are random and ridiculous and will NOT listen to anything he doesn't agree with. I learned nothing in this class.

Very hard to understand. Wants to have a discussion in the class and will argue with the person after they have given their opinion. Thinks he is never wrong. Not helpful at all if you ask for help. Does not follow the syllabus.

He wants the students to engage in lectures, but argues with them once they express their opinions. He doesn't like to be wrong. He is a horrible teacher. Will kick you out of class if you are absent more than 6 times.

Worst professor I've ever had! I learn more English from a rock than him, don't ever take this professor. all he does is talk about himself and if you are sick he doesn't care even with DR. note, go to the bathroom you "disrupt" his class and how ever long you are gone for he will mark you down late. he needs to get fired asap.

Would not recommend this teacher. Everything you learned in high school about writing is thrown away. There is no way to check your grade and grades very harshly. If you ask questions he wont give you an answer you are looking for. He says that the answers in the back of the grammar books are wrong. Okay for him to make mistakes but you can not.

Can tell he's passionate about English and he's a nice guy... EXTREMELY hard to understand. I felt like a lot of his teaching contradicted completely with what you were taught throughout school. Called students out for bad grades and made you feel bad if you got it wrong, meanwhile he made mistakes constantly. Lectures were never on topic.

This is a basic English class that has no clear rubrics. In my experience he grades off of his own principal. I had all my essays proof read by an English major and I received the same grade on every paper. He grades the papers in the class like you're in a very advanced English class when this is the most basic English class one can take at Macomb

Doesnt follow syllabus, makes up the rules as he goes. If you like a clear understanding of what to do, this class isnt for you

Dr. Mandwee means well by his teaching. He very often gets off topic and rambles on. His English can be hard to understand at times. He does not stick to the syllabus at all and often makes up rules as he goes along. He is a stickler on attendance and tardiness. You do not know your grade the entire semester. He does not use any online resources.

Not very nice and does not follow syllabus. Has a high expectation for all students. His opinions are the only opinions count. I can say I would never take another one of his classes. Trash.

He will say ur name wrong all the time, if u dont answer, he will mark u absent even when logged on. If he asks a question and no one answers, he throws a fit & tells us to get off our phones. If we dont know answer, he basically calls us dumb. He got mad at students for their diction choice and called them redundant. Always off topic.

this was the worst class experience ive ever had in my life. he is rude. he doesnt give valid criticism he only ever told me youre not at a college level or you dont know what youre doing. he does not grade using rubrics its completely arbitrary. he also makes racist comments. awful teacher do not take

I have yet to have had a professor I hate. Until I got him. He was completely disrespectful to my accommodations, as I am an autistic student. Never used technology, he won't even post the syllabus on Canvas. Always off topic, will not stop talking about the book he wrote, overall insufferable. I wish I could have transferred out.

Do not take. No clear criteria for grading and will berate you for not understanding content. Rambles on about his own accomplishments and his own writing.

I was in the hospital and missed two classes. I came in with a doctor's note and he basically turned it away, accused me of being absent 5/6 times, to which I corrected him that I had only been absent once before. He told me, “You won't be absent again.” Instructions are never clear, no rubrics, no online resources. Very disorganized.

Don't take this class you won't learn anything and you'll learn more about his life than English. Also extremely rude and unprofessional. Discusses inappropriate topics that do not relate to the class whatsoever.

you will learn about 5 topics the very first day, learn nothing more and never receive a grade over 94 despite no feedback being given besides having a good paper. you will listen to his opinion on politics the whole semester and then be graded on those things you learned the very first day the exam could've been given 2 weeks after the first class

He just doesn't teach. He's extremely rude, unprofessional, and loves to fill class time talking about his politics and beliefs instead of actually teaching. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Worst teacher I've ever had in my life. Does not use canvas at all, not even for grades. Instructions are vague and confusing. Spends most of class time talking about his political and religious beliefs. He will shame students for having beliefs other than his own. Has no grading system or rubrics. Returns work even if you followed his instructions

This professor does not use Canvas at all so you are left in the dark about what your grade is the entire semester. Attendance is mandatory and you are screwed if you miss more than twice even if it is an emergency. There's no rubric for anything and you are basically doomed to get a B on every assignment even if you follow everything he says.
