Awesome professor. Uses powerpoints and youtube videos to explain. Shes always there to answer your questions. Not just a professor but works in the answer center so you can go to her for that too. She makes the classroom a comfortable environment. Take her :)

This class is all about getting to know and helping yourself. All the assignments she gives are so easy, there's just a lot. She constantly updates grades, clear about what needs to be done, and very understanding. There are NO TESTS! A really cool teacher that relates to the student, to be honest the class shouldn't be necessary but she at least made it entertaining and simple. Almost a video every day as well as homework that is mostly opinionated, if your gonna take NSE or any class that she teaches definitely take her.

Professor Brooker is by far one of the coolest professors at Valencia. She's funny and relatable and really breathes life into the NSE class. She makes it super easy to understand everything and assignments are always due at the same time. There's never any tests but she is one for group projects and class participation.

Group projects are not an easy task when taking an online class, and in my opinion, adds more stress to the course than helps. The professor was amazing and helped a lot through good feedback and on time grading. It's an easy class because it is build around you. You don't learn a material but rather learn about yourself. If you have to take this class take it with Professor Brooker she is awesome and want her students to do well. You have to do Mandatory Assignments outside of class but they are easy to do and write a reflection according to the rubic and you will get an easy A. Attendance is a plus in this class and be on time. There are also fun group projects.

Professor was overall a good professor. I did well in this class, but I did put in effort. Don't think because it is an intro class it will be easy. The only downside was I have to work nearly full time hours to manage my bills and things come up and she does not accept late work. If you have a really busy schedule you may wanna take someone else.

I took Professor Brooker for New Student Experience and she was fantastic! Only 4 big projects including one group project, and never ending extra credit! Professor Brooker is super nice and an easygoing teacher. She does have an attendance policy. This class has a lot of work (not hard but lengthy) but that is just the course itself. She even tries to lessen your course load. Highly suggest taking her, it makes the class less boring.

I hated that I had to take this class but Prof Brooker made it so much better. She's so funny, really personable and honestly cares about her students. It was refreshing to have a professor like her, she is definitely the BEST prof to take for this class.

This class is really engaging and makes one focus on doing their work as soon as possible. The Professor is really fun and enjoys to see her class having fun as long as they behave and are respectful. Always be respectful to your classmates a be interactive it counts to your grade. As well make sure to follow her rules and you will be fine.

This class was not hard, however it required a lot of hard work. The professor was very nice, but she took due dates very seriously. In order to succeed, stay on top of your work and complete it entirely.

I would recommend this teacher! She is absolutely great! My big advice to you all, is to get your work in on time. That was honestly my biggest mistake. For 2 or 3 assignments, which could honestly bring you down from an A to a C. But she does give out lots of extra credit opportunities. I honestly would take her again!

I am taking the hybrid course. Although i came into this class hating to do half online, I was able to learn a lot from it. This class was not easy but you earn the grade for the work you put in. Professor Brooker is probably the best professor to teach SLS. She explains all her work thoroughly & gives great feedback on the work. This class was an easy A, you do not have a lot of homework. I would still take this class very serious because you learn so much information in planning your future.

Take Professor Brooker for SLS1122. She's one of the best professors and she learns about you. If you need someone to talk to, she is always there.

She is good but sometimes takes thngs too seriously for a class that is just about college life.

By participation matters, what I mean is thats one of her main focuses. She wants you to engage. She is passionate of what she does n that you have a take away for each lesson.

Professor Brooker is very caring about our work and that we succeed in class as well as life. She wants us to have the tools and knowledge we need. She is accessible and understanding of many things. Often knows before I do, what it is I need to look for. She is kind and gives good feedback.

Professor Brooker is hands down the best teacher you will take at Valencia. She is so insightful and is not afraid to tell you the truth. The class is kind of dumb not gonna lie, but she makes it fun. I did a mixed mode course and I wish I would've taken her normal classes they were a lot of fun, and you meet new people and learn so much.

Hands down one of the best teachers Ive ever had. She really cares about her students and does a great job creating a comfortable atmosphere. The class is super easy as all you have to do is follow directions and do your work on time and you should have an easy A. 10/10 would recommend this class and Professor Brooker.

Hands down the best teacher I have ever had. She is super patient and cares about every student she has and will do anything she can to help you succeed. I learned more about myself in this class than I have in a longer period of time. She is super out going and will make you feel very comfortable. If theres one teacher id take again its her.

Easy. I took Prof. Brooker for New Student experience, and although the class was a little pointless for me, it isn't hard to get an A in. All you have to do is follow the directions, and be at least a little genuine. She has assignments that make you think really inward, but I found there wasn't really enough time for that depth. Lots of EC too.

While this class did involve some assignments that required a lot of work, majority of it was very beneficial, especially if it's your first year in college and everything is new. Professor Brooker is very caring and makes class fun. As long as you turn in your assignments, it'll be an easy A

Professor Brooker is hands down, the most caring and genuine professor I've ever had. She truly cares, for each and every one of her students. The class is extremely easy, as long as you do your work. Tons of extra credit as well. For new college students who are still trying to figure out their college career, this professor is extremely helpful

BEST TEACHER AT VALENCIA!!! I had such an amazing time in Professor Brooker's class. She does a lot of things as a group and her projects are very beneficial. She has very clear cut instructions for each assignment and helps you in any way she can. Very chill class all around but must show up to understand the material and in order to pass.

Professor Brooker deeply cares about what you get out of this class. Not only is she an amazing professor, her class really helps to solidify your plan in life. You do need to be sure to submit things by the due dates, but she typically gives you a week to complete it. It is not a hard class, but be ready to be open and figure out your life!

I do not know where to even begin! This professor is the best one you will have. She gives out about 120 points of extra credit and her assignments are very easy. Her assignments will help you and you will get so much out of them. She really cares about her students and you can tell she loves her job. I cannot recommend her enough!

She is such an amazing professor! Genuinely so caring and nice. One of the only teachers/professors I've ever had who has told me she was proud of me. She is very helpful in figuring out what classes you should take throughout college. The work is very easy and isn't pointless, it's helpful. Definitely take her as an SLS teacher!

Professor Brooker was AMAZING! I took her for SLS122 and she was always there to help! There isn't a lot of work for her class and she gives extra credit. I had over 100% grade for the whole class. Just do the easy work she gives and you will pass. The information she provides is needed in school! Love her!!! Would definitely take her again.

Professor Brooker is very caring. She provides extra credit and is always trying to help students who struggle (though I wasn't one of them). You do have to participate and actually try, but it's a great class and she is wonderful. Provides many resources for success, grades fairly, and is VERY helpful. She is dedicated for sure.

Professor Brooker is by far the most helpful person I have met while studying at Valencia. She goes above and beyond to ensure you are reaching your goals in the classroom. She made what usually is a boring intro to college class (SLS1122) into a fun and informative experience. I looked forward to her classes every week! Take her!

Professor Brooker is great i would definitely recommend her. Her class is easy and actually helped me learn alot about my self. Her assignments are all pretty simple and as long as you do the work you should be able to get a good grade in this class.

Definitely recommend Professor Brooker! She is really personable, gives LOTS of extra credit options, NOTICES US (even with a lot of students, sent me a sweet message because I'm doing well), and keeps us updated with many announcements, replies to messages quickly, even if it is after hours!

I really enjoyed this class and it was a great opportunity to learn more about my future! Professor Brooker is very sweet and you can she really cares about her students. She does thoroughly check all assignments so make sure you put your real answer and do the actual research instead of guessing so you don't get points taken off. She is great! :)

Professor Brooker is a very genuine and affected professor. If you actually put effort and finish assignments on time you will pass.

Professor cares about her students future, emphasized in workload. Plenty of extra credit assignments due before middle of semester. Grades by POINTS not percentages. Most assignments werent difficult but others required more research and thought. Doesnt accept late work. Final was a video of letter from future self. Not too hard but takes time.

Professor Kaitlyn is really nice and looks out for her students. She helps you to learn and understand what it is that you really truly want to do. Professor Kaitlyn gives reminders for when assignments are due so there is absolutely no reason for you to miss an assignment. She grades in points, so if you get 900 out of 1,000 thats an automatic A.

I'm going to be real with you guys. She's pretty chill. Honestly, just do your one weekly assignment, and you're all set. But, of course, don't slack off with your assignments and go with the flow in learning what you want to do in the future. Yes, she offers a lot of credit and has zoom calls in case you need help.Overall great online professor!

Professor Brooker was a really good teacher I would definitely take her again. It's a really simple class keep up with your daily assignments every week and you'll be fine. You have a final story project but its honestly so easy. I would 100% recommend taking this class. Especially if you have 3 other classes this class won't stress you out.

Professor Brooker is awesome. She loves her job and is a great advisor for her students. All she wants to do is help everyone. 1 major group project and a final story project. She's very witty and funny and was a great intro to my first semester of college. If she's your advisor when doing your online zoom orientation, TAKE HER!

I took this class online. It was very simple and easy. For the finals, it's a presentation (about your future self) you will need a script and record yourself, you have 2 weeks to do it and plan. During the whole course it will be what you want to study, the major/degree, and figuring it out. So you are basically preparing for the finals.

Professor Brooker was a great start to my first semester as a dual-enrollment student. She offered tons of extra credit and had very clear rubrics. The class was comfortable and she graded and responded to emails almost immediately. Take her!

Professor Brooker was amazing! She doubles as a NSE professor and a counselor so she's actually able to help with your degree planning too. She's very sweet and is always readily available to help. She provides clear grading rubrics and isn't tough on grading. Her assignments are useful and she offers lots of extra credit opportunities, easy pass!

NSE class was not too hard and Prof. Brooker was great for online courses. Average amount of assignments that were long but could be finished easily. Lots of extra credit and final grades were graded on a 1000 pt scale (900=A,800=B). Only complaint is the work seemed to be a lot for an intro course compared to other, more "real" classes.

Prof Brooker is very supporting for students and answers any question you may have about the school. She cares about your academic plan and the homework she gives makes you prepare for the future, which is extremely helpful. I loved Brooker! Participation and being on time mattered! I know this course isn't mandatory anymore, but she was amazing and brought value to our lives that wasn't just credit. I remember some of the assignments were annoying, and I missed a few of them because I was lazy, but if you try, you will be fine. She is super sweet and helped me so much

I absolutely loved taking Professor Brooker's class! The assignments + instructions were very clear, everything was organized, pacing of the class was perfect, and Professor Brooker herself is such a wonderful person. Assignments are always due Sundays @ 11:59pm and she sends email reminders on Saturdays if you haven't completed an assignment.
