I dont know why a lot of people are bashing the guy, he's a great teacher imo. Offered a lot of opportunity for help outside of class. Go to class 75% of the time and youll get at least a C.

I'm confused by the other reviews of Kakkala. This guy ROCKED(pun intended). With MINIMAL preperation I was able to get an A in this class. The labs were even easier with NO LAB EXAM! I thought he was a funny guy who was good at what he did:teach geology. DEFINATLY take his class:easy and fun.

hard class but you learn a lot. take Mohan if you want to learn. if you're a slacker, take someone else

He is a great guy. and he is smart, but this class was difficult. i like him though.

His accent is cool and he tells good lessons that really makes you think.

i love geology because of this man. he is so clear, that he teaches me how to speak better.

This teacher is great. People say he is boring but it is the students who are not at all interested in the class that make it boring. He is very funny and makes astronomy very interesting. His class is my favorite and I plan to take him for Geology next semester.

I am shocked and quite surprised with the negative quotes given to Mohan. I thought he was a great teacher! He was very helpful and takes time out of his buisy schedule to work with students. He is my favorite Leeward teacher yet.

I learned a lot from him. He teaches not only science. He wants to teach us our life, though, and dream. I could talked with him a lot and learned a lot. He loves Astronomy. I like the teacher loves his subject. Also, his class is not hard. He does not care if we got high point. He just does care of how much we try.

Great teacher, explains things in a way that can be understood in a real life context. Very down to earth and approchable.

This teacher knows his subjects, but exams are not all from informations that he gives out in class. Highly recmd. reading the textbook very carefully before exams although he does not use textbook in class. A lots of informations are given, it's not an asy subject, but he will help you in a heartbeat if you ask him directly!

Great professor, I been reading a lot of the comments prior to posting and noticed a lot of people complaining about how hard his classes are. His courses are fairly easy to anyone who puts in at least SOME time and effort, too many slack off and no wonder they complain because they probably don not even try hard and expect an A.

He was very helpful when I asked him questions. Yes it does seem like he has favorites but, it's probably because they ask questions and they're the ones that seem interested. You do need to read the text book and it helps a lot.

cool cat. Very funny dude and I enjoy going to his classes. The tests are almost straight from the text and are online. Pretty easy if you're studying from the text and the powerpoint and if you're paying attention (which isn't hard to do since he's interesting)

He's a great teacher who knows everything he's teaching about. Almost too intelligent to teach community college. You have to be interested in the course to be interested in what he has to say. Anyone failing the course is not trying to understand. If you don't want to listen to his lecture, read the book; you'll still pass.

If you had issues passing this class then obviously you either have an IQ of 50 or you didn't attend class at all. I see people complaining that hes not clear, blah, blah, blah. Did you miss all of the power points he posts?! Very clear, very understanding, very helpful. Mohans the bomb, duh!

Dr. Mohan is super easy! he is helpful and if you attend class you would pass!

If you have a question, he is more than glad to explain it. Read the book and it will help a lot. A lot of the questions on the exams are questions from your weekly quizzes that you get. He also gives you a study guide so you know what to focus on. You dont have to remember specific numbers unless he tells you too. Easy A. Just go to class

I could see where Mohan could be a little tough to follow in class, but all you have to do is study the PowerPoints and read the book and the quizzes/tests are easy. He tends to wander during lectures but he has a genuine love for the universe. If astronomy doesn't interest you then don't take the class, it's not an easy A. It requires thinking.

Mohan is an awesome Professor. I found Mohan to be very encouraging to his students,he was clear and concise, and I found him to be really fair giving the students extra opportunity to be successful in his class. When he questions where we are in the semester, he is encouraging the students to think and interact.

If you are willing to work hard which means "READ THE BOOK" and actually comprehend what you read, you will get an A+ that's all you really need. This class is not an easy A. you need to work hard for it, extra credit is readily available, quiz open book. Fun teacher, very friendly, helpful, and he really knows his subject.

Good teacher. Very knowledgable, helpful, and enthusiastic. I enjoyed when he spoke about ways to take care of our land, and how we need to stop polluting/littering. He can get wound up by people talking during his lectures tho. He shares some good life lessons during his class.

Great professor and awesome class. A touch of physics in here and if you have a hard time ask for help or see the tutor. He loves what he does and he always asks what you want to learn about Astronomy. I'd definitely recommend him if you love Astronomy! I can't wait till next semester when I take his Geology class.

After taking this class, I am considering on majoring in Geology. He is a very *intelligent* teacher. He doesn't have much tolerance for slackers, so study hard. He is very down to Earth and funny. He can go off in tangents, but there is always some valuable, moral point to his stories. I definitely recommend this class to everyone!

He's super unorganized! He could possibly get your grade wrong, BUT he does curve the grades. I probably deserved an F, but I'm getting a C.

Mohan might have a bad review but he's 1 of the main teachers who actually really makes u think & work hard! His test R hard but if U read your textbook & study hard U will pass! He's a busy guy but has always made time for me & is willing 2 negotiate with UR grade U just cant be lazy & complain go talk with him! Hes a Great encouraging teacher!

Mohans class can be challenging. you have to really apply yourself and think. Looking back on the semester, I learned a lot from him. He's very helpful. His downside is his organization! But he's nice and can be quite funny but be ready to learn!

He tends to be a little confusing. But other than that, he's a great professor. Clearly loves his job. Always open to meeting outside of class. All his PowerPoints were posted online. And he even removed the essay portion from our final quiz and final exam because we asked him to. Super rad. Super funny. And a for sure recommend.

He' a cool teacher. His teaching way is interesting. It makes me look forward to go in his class. He's an amazing teacher. Although we just started, I can see that he's a good teacher. Btw, I am enrolled as an early college (running start) student

Great Prof. Very lenient in grading. Lectures may be confusing cause he does talk FAST (I would read the book instead.) Somewhat hard class (really makes you think hard) but just do the work correctly, study & talk to him for help. For those who absorb info slower, wouldn't recommend taking in summer.

He is super funny, Super nice and Easy to get along with. If you need help he will give clear explanations.

(Summer Sect.) Great professor although I found it sometimes hard to follow his lectures because he sometimes talked very fast. His homework focuses mainly on math & physics. Assessments are fairly easy if you pay attention in class. He is the type of professor that wants you to do well, is there for additional help & has a passion for the subject.

I think Professor is a bit misunderstood. He means well but I think he sometimes has a hard time communicating what he needs us to do as students. He really really loves the subject he teaches with all his heart, though, and if you have questions for him about anything he loves to chat. Class needs more structure.

He means well. Offers extra credit and will give you a break if you are hardworking. He is a little disorganized but it was a minor inconvenience... no textbook required which is great. He likes his subject- brought donuts to class one day just to be nice.

He's a very misunderstood prof. Lectures are fast but he cares A LOT & you need to try to meet him halfway. I took his class during my 10th grade HS year & he would always be willing to help if you ask. Just be sure to read the book, study lots, ask for help & use the appendix in the book to help you w/astrophysics hw. Do all that & you're good!

Prof Mohanan is very knowledgeable and passionate about astronomy. There is a LOT covered in class. Took the summer class so it was especially hard to keep up. STUDY GROUPS were very important for me. He tells you everything you need to know but there's lots. Not an easy A, but imo it's worth it if you like astro.

Dr. Mohanan is SUPER cool. He always tries to crack jokes in his lectures. He also brought our class coffee and hot cocoa to make during lectures sometimes. The material could get very confusing bc it's something I've never studied before, but I do rlly love astronomy thanks to Dr. M!

He is a great professor. Even with the pandemic, he made sure his students understood what was going on and was very flexible. He is passionate about geology.

Took his Geology lecture and lab class but mostly focused on lab because his lecture class was fairly easy. As for lab, it was a bit more challenging. He'd assign worksheets almost every week and his assignments can be a bit challenging to understand at times, but as long as you ask him questions outside of class you'll do fine.

If you show up and pay attention you will pass. Prof Mohan is awesome, he really cares about his students and setting you up to pass. His classes sometimes feel more like conversations an less like lectures because he incourages alot of questions that he will usually find a way of tying into the current lesson.

Probably my favorite professor I have taken a class from. He is a great teacher who knows a lot about what he is talking about. He does tend to ramble a bit about the subjects, but if you listen you can learn a lot from him. His teaching and level of care for the subject made me switch my major to Earth Science. Low homework & answers all questions
