All she does is talk from beginning 'till end of class. Once in a while she will put on films and assign a response to it. Wouldn't recommend her. She's so boring that she will ask questions and no one will answer her so she ends up answering herself.

all she does is lecture every second of the class... from beginning to the end. she repeats everything 100 times in the same class period and she ask questions... and still no one answers them cuz they are all asleep. half of the class dropped it cuz they couldnt stand her talking.

She just keep on saying, voice is too low. Many students had drop the class.

umm no. who ever said she was nice and a good teacher...is halla on drugs. im not going to lie i was looking foward to that class...but after being in there...geez it's HALLA boring. she talks and talks for days. the class is pretty easy to pass tho b/c she doesnt give hw. and lol @ the person who said she says "i guess you can say" and all that. s

Extremely boring class. I honestly feel as if I learned nothing, at all. I regret not transferring out of her class into another Political Science class. She really does know her stuff but she has no interaction with her students.

While a pleasant professor, her lectures are the worst I've ever sat through. She rambles for the entire class period and references topics and ideas that aren't a part of the course, leaving students in the dust and wishing for release. A terrible orator; speaks too fast and too softly. Class is passable though.

Trick to passing her class with an A is to show up to her lectures (even though they are really long sometimes) to hear her analyze everything you tells you to read, take notes on that, and then use that to write your video responses, term papers, midterm, and final. Not the best teacher, but easy to pass. I never read a thing and I got an A.

Worst professor,does not explain enough or explains after the assignment is turned in,wastes too much class time and does not give enough time for in class essays, 20 min to do 2 page essay.NOT STUDENT FRIENDLY-WILL ALWAYS REMIND YOU HOW HARD SHE HAD IT IN COLLEGE. I did very well, I`m not saying this for payback.I regret taking her class now.

I was really excited to take this class. I was quickly turned off by the professor who really was a horrible orator. I shouldn't have googled her. I guess your personal life isn't a sign of a good teacher, but a fashion blog, while interesting, should not be suggestive, especially these days. She's intelligent to a fault.

Unless you have prior knowledge in western civilizations and history you will have a hard time with this teacher. She's extremely difficult to follow and uses tons of words I've never heard of. Her lectures are all over the place and you'll feel like you want to bang your head against your desk, just a warning.

Professor Pappas to me isn't a great teacher for me. Her lectures are too long and I really don't understand her very much.

Her class was eay since I have taken it once already. Most of the time her lectures are easy because she gives you the website to review the powerpoints. If you want to save yourself time, stick to the books and powerpoints.

This lady is hard to follow. Talks about a bunch of different things, constantly going off topic when this course is already vague and hard to grasp as it is. I barely got the gist of things 3/4 of the way through the semester and by then it's just too late. Most reading I've ever been assigned in my whole life. And if u don't read it ur done for.

The class isn't hard but you can't get behind or else you will struggle the rest of the semester. She likes giving students a hard time so don't give her a reason to. She's really weird and thinks it's fun to be sarcastic constantly.

bruh, I didnt read a word from the textbook, payed no attention in class, and got an A. just do the papers

Prof. Pappas outlines everything in the syllabus so I have no complaints about anything unexpected. However, it makes me sad/disappointed she doesn't do any extra credit or allow you to revise papers when a TA grades most assignments & the papers. No weighed grading and overall points for the discussions were only 30pts less than 2 papers.

Prof. Pappas is a very easy grader, but participation matters hella. There aren't a lot of assignments as long as you don't procrastinate. Her class is kinda boring and I didn't learn anything, just earned an A by using the textbook on tests (she let's us use it)

Unlike most of the folks in this forum, I fairly enjoyed Prof. Pappas's class (albeit I took it online.) The weekly questions are of utmost concern when taking this course, as the grading by the Pappas and her TA was quite unfair at times, swiftly chopping your grade down 10% if you're lucky. I learned a lot, but I wouldn't take this class again.

Dude. If I was a monk on a hilltop high as the gods, I would love this class. But because I have to telework 40 hours a day and my kid is doing virtual learning, this class is kicking my butt. I pray that I pass. I will send an update. There is soo much reading that this class should be six units. TOok it because she had better reviews.

grades on participation (but luckily my whole class didn't participate so she never picked on us) such a boring teacher, i'd just watch shows during class in the back, we had like 10 assignments max and some papers, not bad but very annoying (i never understood anything)

I feel really bad for saying this but I didn't learn from the teacher. I learned lots of things from reading the book. But she doesn't count info from the book. I felt alone in the class and I never understood her points. She seems like she's smart, but I wouldn't take her class again. If you're not a writer, don't take the class. Late grader.

Don't. Just don't. Did I mention don't? Do not take this class unless you have HOURS of time to read each week. Not just normal readings, but stuff from long ago that's hard to grasp/comprehend. You WILL have to read everything, or you will fail. This class will leech ALL of your time. Taking it during an accelerated session is a big mistake.

she is a yapper, talks about so many things. even things that aren't on topic. ALSO use a lot of filler words you will get lost... examples "so" "essentially" "uhm" "uh" "yea so..." be prepared to read EVERYTHING... such a boring class, and i normally dont mind history..

She's doing her job, everything she makes you read (which is a lot) is going to actually make you understand U.S. history. Lots of primary sources readings will be hard to understand because it's written in a old-english language, hard to interpret. Taking this during the summer was challenging bc I had other commitments, so take that into account.
