he will single people out and continue to call you out in class in front of everyone.
Dr. Kakish is a great professor. He makes his Intro to Comp class fun, easy, and enjoyable. It's not an extremely demanding class, but he expects students to do their work and be prepared. Assignments are simple, and he provides a lot of help if you ask him. Dr. Kakish definitely made ITEC 1001 a breeze.
Do not let the first two reviews fool you. Dr. Kakish is an excellent professor who gives numerous opportunities for extra credit. Is it really hard to please him and get a good grade? I think not.
Dr. Kakish is a great professor. He gives you ample opportunity to complete your work. He brings the real world into his classroom.
Although a nice guy, Dr. Kakish is a bit scatter-brained. His class, although easy, has a LOT of work. Far more than any other class you have, guaranteed. He's nice though so just show up, show interest, do all the work and you should get an A.
Dr.Kakish is a very nice man.He cares about your success in the class and is interested about who you are as a person. You have to attend class,it is weighted heavily for your grade.I was frustrated sometimes because he can be scatter brained and quizzes do not go along with the practice on myiteclab. But over Dr.Kakish is awesome and very fair!
Best teacher ever!! all he wants you to do is show up in class and do his work. If you missed some homework, he lets you make them up. TAKE HIM
Dr. Kakish's class for itech I do not recommend. It is an intro class the workload should not be as heavy as it is. He can be rude sometimes too and he calls people out like no other. However if you're really into technology he'd be a good professor, you'll learn a lot! but if you're just taking it bc u have to don't take Dr. Kakish.
Dr. Kakish is an amazing professor. He will work with you as long as your willing to do the work. You will need the book since all of his quizzes come from the material in it. He's a really cool laid back guy. He cares about the success of his students. I definitely recommend him for Intro. Just come to class and participate and you will do great!
This professor was by far my best one. He cares about his student just as long as the student cares for him and the course. He will do anything in his power to help you understand everything you need to know in this course. He's outstanding in what he does as a professor. If you take him you will not regret it.
Professor Kakish is by far the best professor I have taken. He cares and his students just as long as you show him that you care about the course and respect him. He is outstanding at what he does Everything in his power to make sure that once you leave his class that you will fully understand everything content in itech. I enjoyed taking his class
Dr Kakish is fair and honest. He will help you as long as you want the help and talk to him. As long as you do the work on your own you will pass. Everything is online so you what is needed. The class using online tools so you do learn a lot once you leave his class.
Dr Kakish is one the best professors on campus. He's very knowledgeable and will tech you a lot. Just show up for class, do your work and be respectful and you'll be fine in his class. He will do anything in his power to give the grade you need but only if you deserved it. Take him!! Great Professor.
Great professor. Easy and honest. If you do the work on your own you will pass his class.
Dr. Kakish is a respectable and greatly informed professor. His course does expect a good amount of work but less so than other four credit hour courses. He is willing to work with people as long as you show him respect. If that's the case he will show respect to you. Overall great professor and great course!
As long as you do the work and be respectful to him, there should not be much of a problem. The work load was very manageable and you will actually learn a lot about the different Microsoft applications. He's a really nice guy, always willing to help and is very understanding. Definitely would take him for my class again.
Class was fun in my opinion. and the Professor was very honest, and the work load isn't much. if you put in the effort he will make sure you pass. Just work hard and he will repay you with a good mark. Don't slack off.
This class was very interesting and Dr. Kakish did a good job of helping each student if they needed it. He is all about respect and being fair. If you respect him and work hard he will do the same! Great class!
Dr. Kakish is a great professor. If you study for the quizzes and do your all of your work, you are bound to get an A in this class. There is a lot of work to do in his class, but it's nothing that you won't be able to handle. He cares about his students and their grades. If you need help with something he will be delighted to help.
Dr. Kakish is the best professor I've ever had. He is honest and fair. His workload is reasonable. He will do everything to help you. Take him and you'll be glad you did!
Dr. Kakish Is one of the best ITEC professors at Georgia Gwinnett College. Very reasonable person who is willing help one another. I recommend this Professor if you a taking ITEC 1001
Dr. Kakish is a great teacher. He is passionate and honest. He makes very complex concepts easy to understand. He is very helpful and will do everything in his power to help you succeed. Show up, show respect, show interest, and do the work and you'll get an A. Workload is very reasonable. I highly highly recommend him!
Very helpful!!
Great professor. Dr. Kakish is very helpful and very reasonable. He will work with you to take the best learning experience from this course. He is fair and will give many chances to succeed. Do what he asks and you'll be awarded.
Best professor ever! Very caring and helpful. Brings the real world application of what you learn in the classroom. Take him and you'll be glad you did.
Dr. Kakish was my favorite teacher from freshman year. He's very friendly, and will always adjust things for you if you need more time. The coursework he gives is actually enjoyable AND easy, but there's a lot of it. Overall, easy A, great teacher. Give his class 30 minutes a day and you'll be fine, but he DOES grade attendance so show up.
On my first day of school he came in and started talking about how we should consider ourselves "lucky" to be in his class. He goes on and on for what seems like forever about nonsense really and you don't get time to work because he wants you to pay attention to him talking. He's arrogant but can be funny at times, but that didn't cut it for me.
He is a horrible professor and is very arrogant. He has a horrible attitude and is rude to the students. Treats us like children. It's his way or the highway. BEWARE don't take this class! I have a good grade in the class so this has nothing to do with my grade. His teaching methods are very poor. These people giving him 5's are SOOO WRONG!
Easy course, however heavy workload. Easy "A" if you try. Weekly assignments with different people, significant group project at the end, etc. Nice guy who is willing to help.
Is very disrespectful and drinks more diet soda then he helps student progress in the class if you are not good at ITech the best advice I can give you is refrain from taking Dr Kamal Kakish. He gives his student work that he hasn't done himself and when you ask him for some assistance he goes as far as trying to embarrass you infront of the class.
He is arrogant and disrespectful to students, he is one of the worst instructors you can find.
Although i ALWAYS turned assignments in completed and early, when i missed class a few times, he had it out for me. I wouldn't take him again. Be there or be square because if you miss a day where he explains project details, you will be given a 0 for the project since you weren't there to hear him explain.
very nice and helpful, he will help you out to get an A in his class.
He was the worst professor ever ! Do NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. He will talk to you any kind of way, but wants you to keep it professional with him and try to call you out in front of everybody !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You must do the work to get a good grade in the class. The work is not hard, but you just have to do it.
Great teacher. Takes the time to teach you what you need to know. Very fair and understanding
Great professor, will help you when you need it. The vast majority of students have no issues at all.
If you know you're a slacker (like me), then this class isn't a good fit. Really good starting class for future IT majors, but if you're not IT, then it can be very difficult to handle if you're not organized! If you don't read the syllabus or do the online work, you will fail. Aside from the class, Kakish is understanding of the workload.
He is a great and humble professor. He does not only help with the current academic course but also helps you outside the class like giving suggestion & advises on courses and outside course . He is friendly and respect his students. If one has any problem with the grading , he also helps you and try to re-grade with better score if you deserve.
Good professor. Caring and loves his job. Be prepared to do a lot of wokrk
He's a very easy teacher to talk to and is very understanding. But he will get on to you if you are not doing what you are supposed to be doing in class, which is understandable. He's a great teacher overall, he makes sure to remind you about your work and if you don't do it, it's really your fault. Class has a lot of homework as expected.

This professor knows the subject and explains it the best he can. Some of the analogies he uses may get lost, but he is a good professor, nonetheless.
Dr. Kakish is a great professor! He's funny, caring, friendly, and occasionally gives you feedback on how you're doing in class. There isn't a ton of assignments to do, but don't forget to turn them in on time. There's a 5 day late turn-in window with 10% taken off each late day. His lectures are pretty interesting, for the most part.
Kamal is an OG in the IT field and is very knowledgeable. He genuinely cares about his students and their future; which is rare. The course load isn't that bad if youre diligent. If he asks you to pay attention to him, pay attention, otherwise you will be on his sh!tlist. Stern but fair man, wish I could have met him earlier in life. Bless you Abi!
He is a teacher that relies on powerpoints and lectures for students to learn the criteria, but he is very open to answering any questions have. The questions will be answered in detail and you get time in class to do the work.
Professor Kakish is very kind and genuine about his students. Always has an answer for you, and never gives you negative feedback always a positive soul.
This class has alot of work, but it gives you a chance to get good grades.
D.K is a great teacher. good for people who need to learn.
Dr. Khakish was one of the friendliest professors i have ever had. He cares a lot about his students and always helps you if you missed class. His course is not hard if you just do the homework, which is not really much. I would totally take him again! Best professor i've had so far!
He's a fair professor and provides class collaboration at times. He's caring but firm and can be seen as a father figure. Provides positive feedback and is always helpful and honest. Great professor!
Kakish is a awesome professor! He care about his students and is willing to help you if you ask. Everything is done in computer, just make sure you turn it in on time. The lessons can be really helpful for your career if it involves with Microsoft, there are lesson on how to use them. So pay attention and take his word for it, he's a great person.
Dr. Kakish I believe is one of the best professors ive ever had. Not only is his course well planned out and the workload respectably, but also hes an engaging and sympathetic teacher.
Professor Kakish is very aware of the hardships found in student life and is willing to help those who need help. Do your best and you will do well in the class.
Dr Kakish is the man! He's really funny and super duper nice. He really cares about his students and will go the extra mile to help you.
Professor Kakish seems to genuinely care that his students succeed and gives helpful feedback when asked. As long as you create a solid schedule, submit deliverables in a timely manner, and maintain communication throughout the project, STEC4500 should be a great learning experience.
I had Dr. Kakish for ITEC 3350 and for STEC 4500. Both experiences were great and I took a lot from it. He makes sure that you learn the material and do the work that you need to do.
Great professor
Make sure you attend to class. If you have an emergency, and unable to go into class tell him ahead of time because your grade will be affected GREATLY. Most of the time you'll be on your own.
Amazing professor! He is very kind and understanding. Attendance is mandatory but if you let him know ahead of time he will give you half credit for the day. He is very friendly, 10/10 would recommend.
Dr. Kakish was amazing, I have been dealing with health issues this semester and he was genuinely concerned that his students succeed in his class. There is a lot of work, however, as long as you follow his instructions, you will do well. I took this class prior and dropped because it was confusing, but with Dr. Kakish it was fun and a breeze!
Itec class is expected to have a large number of works so there are few differences between other profs. Dr. Kakish is genuine, caring and love to tell stories about technology rather than giving us PPT-based lecture. I enjoy his class in general.
Kakish is a great professor overall but he definitely expects a lot out of you. Be prepared to do work and have a lot of assignments. I feel like he assigns extra work than other tech professors.
Started out decent but the way he ended the semester ruined any positive experience I had. Had an A the whole semester, during the last few weeks it dropped. I continuously let drkakish know I was concerned about grade weeks before the end of semester and he failed to reply to emails within a timely manor or work with me. Ended 1 point away from A
The class it self isn't hard, but the professor attitude makes the class difficult for no reason. If you make any mistake at all even if it's your first day he gets mad. He is also very pet peevish about you addressing him a certain way. If you do not word your emails or in person sentence the way he grew up learning then he will talk down to you.
Pretty good prof, just get to know him. DO THE WORK!!!!
You're on your own learning 99% of the time. You always have homework and tests/projects/quizzes. He's a good professor, but you're just learning on your own. I don't know why attendance matters if everything is online and we just do our homework in class haha
Do not take this mans class. He is extremely unprofessional and honestly sent most of the time kicking students our class if they were getting signed in to d2l for his class because he wanted all eyes on him. The amount of work is overwhelming!!! You are learning multiple things at ones with assignments due for all of them at the same time.
He doesnt not communicate to your emails so if you need help or need some type of assistance, forget about it. You have a pre-test, post test, quiz, independent project, graded lesson, graded recharge WEEKLY ! He doesnt teach in class and gets annoyed when you ask questions. PLEASE DONT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU LACK KNOWLEDGE BECAUSE YOU WONT LEARN
DO NOT TAKE HIM! He's rude, doesn't lecture well, and treats the class like its everyone is an IT major. Probably one of the worsts professors I had so far.
Dr. K is great. If you fail his class, it was your fault. All of your work comes from connect and simnet which are both easy to use. Quizzes allow you 3 attempts to get the answer, so its near impossible to fail. Basically, just turn everything in by the end date (like a week after the due date for 10% penalty) and youll do great! Plus hes nice.
You dont need text book, yet you need to buy the material which is VERY expensive. Its a technology class, so I get it. He gives A on mostly everything (I dont think he even checks) but this class had the most assignments this semester. It was a asynchronous class so I only emails him few times and thats it.
class was online this semester so I was only able to communicate through emails, VERY vague answers when asked any questions, so forget about being helped. VERY VERY heavy workload. Spent most of my time doing work for his class. As well as VERY expensive online material that you need to buy. DO NOT be fooled by all of his good ratings.
As an elective, the amount of work that needed to be done was ridiculous. Besides weekly reports, you're doing a group project the whole semester and turning in 4-10 single spaced essays every couple weeks. If you want to maintain a good GPA/a good grade/need an elective, DON'T TAKE HIM. Harsh grader, harsh feedback, only one exam (Finals is 30% )
Do not take this professor for Digital Commerce if you aren't required. Expects students to write a 2.5 page single spaced 10pt font paper every week. He also has a group project that students work on throughout the semester which he admits that he grades extremely harsh and to expect a C for the first part. Half the class dropped out with 10 left.
If you haven't attended the first 2 sessions on week one, avoid this class. You will be randomly assigned to a group with no control. If you have 3 other courses in your semester, avoid this class. If you've never done a college business plan for another class, avoid this class. If you can't read/work ahead of schedule, avoid this class.
DO NOT TAKE HIM! He never responds to emails, idk why he has a 4/5, someone probably hacked it. He is the worst professor, worst lecturer and wish I could give him a 0/5. He grades so harshly when we don't even know the clear instructions. If u answer wrong he makes u sound dumb.
If you have the ability do not take him. Digital Commerce is the worst school experience I've ever had. He doesn't explain what he wants but will absolutely ream you for it.
Signed up for face to face, this was only course open for 4320 and he turned it asynchronous. Put the class in a pilot program with Ascend Learning (that we had to pay for, no FABA) to teach for a cert that we also have to pay for. Made no material and graded nothing himself. Would randomly do required classes so he could ramble about his new house
The class with him was overall easy. He does not teach this particular subject however we did our work through an Online textbook / lab experience called Ascend. If you do all of the Ascend work you will easily pass this class with no problem. That is all I can say however since there wasn't really any lectures or anything like that.
Grading is tough if his directions are not followed. To be successful, pay close attention to detail and do research on your own. The group project would have been very difficult if other team members did not contribute. Weekly chapter reports require lots of reading and writing in addition to group project work. Don't take if looking for easy A.
Professor Kakish is a very caring man when it comes to cybersecurity. It is also very kind when it came to prepping us for the midterm and final exams. I personally wouldn't take him again only because HOW he taught the course. It is a bunch of reading and labs. The labs, while useful, are time consuming. Overall, I would suggest taking him.
Most of the things he had us do were through either simnet or connect (online software), so the only time you would have to attend is for the final exam. No textbooks or any extra materials need to be paid for in connection to this class. Overall, Relatively fair and forgiving professor as long as you are truthful with him and do your part.
If you want someone who will punish and ridicule you for asking questions while also doing the same if you *don't* participate, this is your guy! Get used to being asked if you can even read.
The course was taken online. It was easy to use i feel like this is useful to use this in real world . the teacher schedule for assignments were easy to follow.
There really is no reason to show up to his class unless you want to hear the same story every other day. When there was lecture it was pretty interesting but doing the assignments out of class made more sense. SIMnet and Connect were the only programs we used and I learned lots about Microsoft programs. Very boring but it was and okayish class.
Very rude, has an awful attitude and very judgmental .
I do not recommend this professor for this class. The entire class is asynchronous and the subject is not easy. The entire class is split into weeks with all assignments from the website TestOut due. You don't learn anything and the professor doesn't care.
This was an online SYNCHRONOUS course when I registered for it. First week of class the prof said that the course would be entirely ASYNCHRONOUS. All the work is from Test Out. The professor taught for only like half the semester, after somebody made a complaint about them. Please PICK ANOTHER PROFESSOR SO YOU CAN LEARN. Not worth your time.
Very rude professor. Called people out for something that's a technical issue on Zoom for an IT professor too. The recent reviews are accurate, he does not care to teach the course and will leave it entirely to TestOut. His attitude is spicy. He has much to work on in regards to teaching and caring for students' success.
The class was advertised as in-person but was switched fully online. Everything done was on compTIA which could be bought by anyone. The lack of teaching made the course feel redundant as all learning came from the CompTIA resources that could have been accessed independently to get the cert. This felt like a waste of money. I do not recommend
Overall bad teacher dosen't know if the assisment were opening or not just blaming the students. whole course was online only the graded projects were important.
He had a very bad attitude and is the workload is overwhelming. But I do blame so stuff on myself by not asking enough questions but he would stress me out when I am trying to find out why my camera is not working and just called me out while having a picture of the beach as his background and a drinking diet coke. DON'T TAKE HIM
