excellent teacher!
if you can understand him it should be an easy course.
He's my favorite teacher
great teacher. i hate math but he was very helpful and you could tell he really wanted to help and for you to do well. a lot of homework though.
Ey vall.Best teacher ever.Take him.Just take him.(Dada Sia)
he was an alright teacher. we learned something different everyday. i just got done taking math 111 and math 083 was harder and everything i learned in math 083 i didnt even use in math 111
Great teacher, very patient and fair. And will convery you to a math lover.
I am TERRIBLE in math and I thought he was a bad teacher until I had to take the class over again (yes, again!). After having another teacher the 2nd time I realized that Mr. Askarpour was, in fact, a great professor. He works with you until you really understand what you are doing. He is also willing to help outside of his normal office hours.
I am horrible at math, but Kambiz helped me to understand it a lot more. He is really helpful and likes to sing during class, sometimes it's New Kids on the block which is really funny. You have problems to do every night which really isn't too bad if you're like me and forget what you've learned by the next class.
crazy but easy
really like the professor... ever see "Scarface"? He IS Tony Montana!! Really makes a boring math class exciting.
Easy grader
HORRIBLE, I don't now how I ended up with an A but he is hard to understand does not listen to your questions before he answers. I usually get math fast but he always made me feel lost. do not recommend
He broke everything down to simple terms. He made Statistics feel like I was in pre-algebra! He is a great teacher! Even though he is from another country, you CAN understand him completely!
greatest math teacher ever...awesome...
Excellent teacher. Breaks down problems into easy to understand chunks. Old school; expects you to pay attention, take notes, and think. Comes off as strict when doing his lecture, but very pleasant in one on one's after class. As another has stated, made a Math lover out of me.
Took a summer math 083 class with him. Dropped it after 4 days due to personal reasons. He seemed very nice, and helpful. Explained everything clearly. Funny guy. If your good at math and can keep up take him. Hes a good guy
he was a great teacher he was patient, helpful, and fun.I recomment him very strongly
kind of rude..gives you the silence treatment for part of the class...cant really understand him
A GREAT MATH TEACHER I LOVED HIS CLASS. IF YOU ASK ME, I WOULD TELL YOU TO TAKE STATISTICS FROM HIM. P.S he tries to act as if he is strict or stern look past that he is a really nice man .
I got in alot of trouble but he was a great teacher. The dude looks like scarface. Hed yell at you for putting your head down. "no sleeping...sleep at home". but overall a cool ass dude. i got a b in his class. just show up. even though his accent sucks, he stays on the same topic for so long if you dont understand it your an idiot.
somewhat hard to understand, but helps you understand what you're learning at ease. he gives a quiz every week and a few projects but they help boost your grade if you study a little. great math teacher
he was a great teacher. I could understand him very clearly.I did not have any problem with his accent. if people don't understand him they are stupid.
great teacher. I learned alot.he showed me , math could be fun.I you need a statistics course take it with him.
Great teacher! You can understand him fine! His accent is not a problem. People who say they don't understand him are crazy, he is very understandable. Made everything seem easy, and I am horrible at math! He made everything understandable and if you had a problem, he helped you. Has a lot of open book tests and quizzes, plus take home ones. Great!
Very easy going professor. gives daily homework to make sure you understand what was taught. Also gives daily quiz so that you really know what you are doing. Has a dry humor but only to apply it to math. Explains math in detail and make sure everyone understands. No way anyone should fail in his class unless they have not applied themself.
The class material by it's nature is not very difficult. You will not be allowed to ask this guy any questions at all,so be prepared to get help outside of the class if you need additional questions answered about the material. He runs a dictatorship not a class! I have been extremely unsatisfied with my overall experience. I would not recommend.
I would definitely retake him if I had to take another math class. He's very straight to the point and has a funny sense of humor. The tests are so-so...some of of the questions are worded weirdly, but for the most part, they're easy. He isn't bad at all!
i never understood math until i took his class he is very helpful and understanding.
This is the best Math teacher ever he is awesome I hated math before I met him and he makes sure you understand i. He is a wonderful taecher and I highly reccomend him!
Best math teacher I ever had! He starts out by asking a question on what he is teaching and if there is even one student who got the answer wrong he goes over it again. He works from basic math to the hardest problem in the book. I've always hated math but he made this class fun and interesting that I actually liked this math class. Take him!
very gentle spirit. more than willing to help students understand math and work through their individual frustrations with math. I miss his class. learned alot
He is an amazing teacher. currently in his math 111 class for the winter semester. he is very clear and explains things very well. more than willing to take the time to explain things if people have questions. this is a 15 week course that i am taking in 3 weeks and have an A. would deff recommend taking him!
He was very helpful, and very clear. He was also pretty unintentionally funny.
It was a delight to take Math 111 with him. Math is not a strong point for me (never has been), but he teaches the information in a way that you WILL understand the concepts. I HIGHLY recommend taking him for your next math.
Prof. Askarpour was a great instructor. His accent was not an issue, and he took time to make sure his students understand what was being taught. Caution: do not go to sleep or even look sleepy in his class. "Go to sleep!" Lol. Take him!
Mr. Askarpour was an amazing teacher. I had him years ago and had to take a moment to share just how wonderful he is. A kind and wonderful man and an excellent instructor. Thanks Mr. Askarpour!
I hate math but mr askaspar is an amazing teacher!! He's very funny also, he makes math fun but I still hate it lol!
Very good teacher. Relearned things previously learned but I actually understood them when he taught them.
I struggle with math, however Mr. Askarpour was a fabulous teacher that made math understandable. His clarity on the concepts was incredible. He was always prepared for class with a lesson plan that was followed and it seemed every student left with an understanding of what was taught. GREAT TEACHER!
Mr. Askarpour is the best math teacher I have ever had! He explained it very well and made math seem easy! He writes everything out on a board! He would always answer any questions students have, goes over tests and writes everything out! If i had to take another math course, i would make sure its with him!
Best math teacher I ever had. Explained everything clearly, and would not move on until everyone understood. Very interactive with the class. All around just a great instructor. Failed because I switched majors and found out I didn't need the class. Stopped trying.
Took his summer statistic class at BCCC and very happy with my choice. Very good teacher.
I took his summer statistic 107 class at BCCC and very happy with the choice. I like everything about the class especially his teaching stile.
Very good professor! He gives daily quizzes and homework. If you do the homework, ask questions and pay attention you will do fine! I got an A!
He is the best math teacher. Math is my worst subject and I got a "B" during the accelerated summer smstr for Math 083. I am taking him now for Math 135 and am doing great. He truly cares about his students which means a lot. Many students don't understand his ways-he is dry and serious but sometimes his ways are funny. He deserves a big raise!!!
He is great professor. I took him for applied algebra and trig. I am awful and I mean AWFUL at math. And I got a high B in his class. He does TONS of examples which really helps. He does have a bit of an accent but it is not difficult to understand. He is also very humorous in his own sort of way. I would definitely recommend taking his class.
Mr. Askarpour is a very good professor. He explain the lesson very well. He is considerate, approachable, helpful, and understanding.I highly recommend this professor.
Great! He explained everything he taught very well. The only thing worth mentioning is he likes to use lots of word problems.
He is the best teacher i had for my math 135 class.
Do your self a favor and take his class. Go to class, listen to the lectures, do the optional homework and you will pass! He explains everything easy. Gives extra credit and is a easy grader! Going to take him for my next math class!!
He is extremely rude and doe not care about his students. I don't know what everyone else is talking about. At the end of the semester he gives a huge project and it very hard. I am a genius at math and got a C in his class. I don not recommend.
I struggled with math in high school, but never had a problem in any of his classes. I took him for both 083 and 135 and passed with flying colors. He only gives about 4 tests (plus the final) and is a very easy grader. I definitely recommend taking his class if you aren't the best at math! I received B's in both classes.
Wow best lecturer ever, i was always scared of taking math, but he made me fall in love with math. i will take him over and over again for any of my math classes....
He teaches in a well understood way. Many examples and grades gracefully. He s d and there for you if you need help. He is entertaining and the time flies.
Wouldn't take again. Not very nice. Loses your papers.
If you asked him a question that he didn't approve of, he would make a side comment that made you not want to ask anymore questions. If you do your tests on a separate peice of paper be prepared for him to lose it and give you a BS grade he thinks your deserve. If you miss one day of class you're screwed. Good luck.
He is overall a very disrespectful and rude professor. He makes you feel clueless when you ask a question. You can barely understand his accent. He also flies through work like he expects you to already know it. His grading on tests and quizzes makes no sense. Quizzes every friday.
He only acts like your questions are stupid if your questions are in fact stupid. If you consider yourself a reasonably intelligent person, you will likely do fine. He likes participation in class too.
great! everything is really easy and clear with him. I love him.
He is the greatest professor ever. If there are questions, he has answers. He s very detailed and he writes out the steps for everything. He makes things clear and I love his teaching style. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for clarity. Attendance is mandatory somewhat, Because you have to be there to learn but the homework was In order.
Overall great professor. Does't check homework, but his exams are comprised of the homework. Answers all homework questions in the beginning of class, so if you actually do the work, you will receive an A.
he is an alright teacher. he does not use blackboard or keep his students informed on their grade in the class. he missed class and did not sent a email or anything before. shows no interest in his students. quiz every friday but he didn't give us half of them back to study from. also says the wrong page for homework often.
Homework is optional, and the tests are almost entirely the homework questions. Great professor.
Professor explains well. Gives homework (couple questions ) every class. Goes over homework questions you need help with the next following class. Every Friday he gives a short quiz on the problems you just learned that week. You will have ALOT of word problems. You need to study and you'll pass. The book purchased for fall 2015 discontinued ...
I am not good in math, (at all) but he made it easy for me to understand. Step by step. I wish had him along time ago.. Homework every night but that prepares you for the test, so just do it, only a couple of problem. Mr. Askapour is Awesome, he can be sarcastic at times ( but it is harmless, he wants you to participate, when he ask a question)
Professor Askarpour taught (in math 135) what my pre-calc class was learning. Take this professor if you actually want to learn something and easily pass the course. The people who left bad reviews are the people who were on their phones during class or giving him an attitude.
He is a clear teacher. He walks you through step-by-step. If things go too fast for you, he uploads lectures and pdfs on blackboard for students to get refreshers. He can be a bit spacey with homework, but he's overall friendly and has a sense of humor. He can be a bit mocking of careless mistakes, but that includes when he is, himself corrected.
he writes examples on the board you copy it than leave. Homework every night, not graded, goes over it every class. Book only used for homework. grades are 3 tests, 5 quizzes, 1 project, final. Don't pass the tests/quizzes you can only get a C. Lots of memorization! Tests are mostly application problems from hw. Need calculator. Would take again.
He is one of the Best Math teacher in CCBC! He explain every single problem very clear and always have extra time for student who has questions. It was the best class of math for me, never been confused of any math problems in his class because he teach very easy and explain it perfect. He is the Best! Easy A if you following your HW questions.
He is The Best :) follow his lecture, take notes , DON'T PLAY WITH YOUR PHONE in his class and try to listen to his Amazing way of solving math problems! It will be an easy A if you practice the homework problems before each quiz and do the review before the tests. Also there is extra credit for student who do the math project.
I was on crutches during the middle of the year and I had to miss couple classes de to physical therapy. Wouldn't let me make up work. If you missed class your letter grade dropped and he constantly made fun of you in front of the whole class
Terrible teacher. I had tonsilitis and strep and missed a couple days and he wouldnt let me make up any work. Throughout the class period he will indirectly say how people need to start coming to class and not sleep when i was sick with tonsilitis. He has no remorse and hes foreign so you cant understand him. he doesnt not care about your grade.
you can barely understand him , he's rude to all his students who asks questions when HE asked us if we had questions , very rude poorly taught class
I don't agree with some of these reviews. He's a great teacher and his accent isn't even that hard to understand. I'm late almost everyday and he never does any petty things like take it out on my grade or make jokes. The only thing he does that's annoying is I sit in the front every time I yawn he yells at the class to wake up. As a joke I guess?
He is a really funny professor, always laughing in his class. His material is very easy to understand and he explains in depth. Its really easy to pass his class.
I thought he was a wonderful teacher! Sometimes he does go fast but just keep up and you'll be okay. Towards the end, he did teacher rather fast but just take time with understanding the notes and you will be fine. Study before the quiz. Do practice problems. You will be okay.
i advice you take his teacher. He explains maths step by step. He gives homework but he never grade it, but it's important to do it because that's what he brings in his exams. He gives review questions which are really helpful when doing your tests. if you're serious with his lectures, its an easy A.
If you care about math or passing a class and are willing to do the work, which is really easy, you can learn a lot from this man.
He's a nice guy. Sometimes you can not understand what he says or writes. Tough information to know, but that is because this math is challenging (to me). He is willing to help his students.
I honestly loved his class. Although he was very stern he was a great teacher! He's just a man who demands respect, and expects you to pay attention. He is a very in depth teacher and will teach you in the most simple way. He also gives out some papers so you can look back on. Always gives homework but it helps, and quizzes you ever y thursday.
He was emotional sometimes, he had no problem being a bit dismissive and raising his voice. However, he taught the material well and gave good reviews for tests. Personally, I needed to study on my own more than I did though.
Im good in math so I didnt bother with any homework. I passed the class with an A. Hes honestly a great teacher.
I understand it must be a challenging job, but as an interactive student, I was very unhappy with his (lack of) ability to get people engaged. It seemed like he was ready for class to be over every day, as much as me and my fellow students. if you want an A, do the work, if you want an engaging teacher who enjoys their job, skip this professor.
Took his class for 082 and 083. Yes, he lacked emotion and lacked enthusiasm. I think he made me understand math more than any teacher I've every had. He gives quiz every either Friday or Thursday (based on schedule), and exams were not difficult. Just as long as you do your homework and take notes in class, you can easily pass the class.
He was great, I took this class with him for the first 7 weeks of spring .. wasnt as difficult as I thought it would be
I hated math failed 081 in the past. I wish I had Prof K early on in my academic journey. I did 083 and 135 under his instruction , passed both classes with high grades and great knowledge.
Be careful taking this professor. He has a nick for talking down to people. I only had three interactions with him about how to submit my work and he managed to be show he was condescending, and negative. The material wasn't bad , the attitude was horrible.
He thoroughly explains everything he teaches to make sure everyone gets it. He offers ample opportunities for students to ask questions. Do your homework, come to class, and you'll have an easy A.
Im not great at math, but he is so detailed in what he teaches you would have to try to fail. Hes really great teacher. His handwriting is not the best and he sometimes has an attitude but honestly the pros outweigh the cons. Would recommend 100%
This professor does not know how to talk to his students and raises his voice when they are confused. Would not recommend.
Professor K is very passionate about math and extremely intelligent; he break down the material so it easy to understand and give examples to practice. He STRONGLY encourages studying, practicing and repetitio, he can come off as rude when asking a question but I don' believe it's intentional I believe his accent comes off strong. Great Professor
I liked Prof. Kambiz. Remedial class, so no credit. I'm not a great math student, and he broke it down so that I was able to understand. I don't enjoy math itself, but I enjoyed his class. The homework he assigns is for your understanding, and is not graded, which was great. If you struggle with math like I did, he's a good Prof to have.
Professor Askarpour was amazing, I love that he recorded his lectures and post them after class, which gives us the opportunity to go back a catch something we may have missed in class. He replies to emails and will even send you videos on the problems you are having trouble with. I enjoyed this class and would definitely recommend taking his class
This teacher is honestly super sweet. He is very accommodating. I was unable to make it to most of the exams and he still let me reschedule a time to take them. He is also a fair grader. People say he is harsh with his tone but I think he means well. Make sure you show up to class and ask a lot of questions and you will be sure to pass.
This is my second time w/ Prof. Kambiz, and my opinion stands; great professor. Really breaks things down, making them easy to understand. Homework is given, but not for a grade but rather, for reinforcement. Many test questions were taken directly from the book. Pay attention and do the work, and he'll make sure you succeed.
I just want to start by saying that he is not the nicest but I promise you, if you be quiet, come to class ready to learn and do the homework the way he assigns it, you will pass. You have to study, your grade is based on your effort. He explains math in a way you will understand. And the quizzes and test are exactly what we went over in class.
Professor Askarpour is the best math teacher ever he was rude from the first day but getting to know him over the FALL 2021 he was great. Please just SHOW to class or ONLINE online an ready to learn. I will say that he teaches really good one of the things I do like about him is that he record his lecture and post them if you missed but he is FAIR.
I would recommend this professor just from taking this class over the FALL semester he was really good. I know he can be a little nasty when talking to students was somewhat mean but I didn't blame him because some of questions people ask was right there in there faces and wasnt paying attention. Lectures are very IMPORTANT TAKE NOTES. Fair Grader!
yes he can get snippy but he is a great teacher. and I mean, some of the questions people would ask were pretty stupid, so. Im horrible at math and he made it easy. goes over plenty of practice problems. you only use the textbook for hw problems but wasn't graded. he's pretty accommodating too. just finished the course for summer session.
homework that don't get checked. Was very ignorant ,rude, and impatient. Hard to understand at times. He had a nasty attitude almost every day. He talk down to people like they were children. He got irritated when asking questions .He would smack ur desk , when frustrated . He expected u to know most of what was taught even if u didn't take 082 .
He is an excellent professor. He is not the nicest but he is fair. My advice when taking him, come to every class, study whatever study guide he gives you atleast twice, pay attention, do all the homework. He will not grade it, he assigns it so you can better understand the material. He will not mislead you or confuse you! Do those things, easy A
I had Prof. Askarpour for a winter course so a few things may be skewed by the nature of those classes. Prof. Askarpou knows the subject he teaches very well and breaks it down in an understandable way. He has a bit of an accent so some of the things he says are a little ahrd to understannd but generally he will clarify if needed.
Professor Askarpour was such a good professor. Math has never been one of my strong classes, but I learned so much and had a great semester in his class. His lectures are heavy, taking notes is super important. He can be very rude at times but is super helpful and explains things very clearly. I would definitely recommend taking him.
Great Professor. Many are saying he's mean, however I never got that vibe off of him. I think it's just the way he carries himself, as he says something which comes off as rude but he has no such intention. That aside, everything else is great! As others have said, he's a great teacher and teaches everything with clarity!
He is an amazing Professor. He helped me outside of class and made sure I understood the material. He may seem mean, but he isn't. By far one of my favorite professors, I've ever had.
You have to pay attention during class to pass, he is irritable sometimes but is a good teacher and knows what he's talking about
Professor Askarpour can be a bit rough around the edges, but the lectures are informative. Staying engaged and using resources like Unstuck ai helped me understand the material better. Overall, a solid class if you put in the work.
This professor made sure everyone knew the information to pass, a little hard to understand due to the language barrier, but you are guaranteed to pass.
Genuinely a great professor who cares a lot about helping you. His accent may be hard to understand, but his teaching was always done in a way where it was easy for you to catch on. Would take again without question!
Pos: Passionate, shows up every class, answers questions, removes lowest quiz score. Neg: Can't make up tests Eh: Gets annoyed at students sometimes. (late arrivals, phone usage, frequent bathroom breaks). Decent amount of homework (it's calc so kinda expected) Not bad at all, show up, do your work, you'll be fine. Didn't go office hours so idk
