Very sweet lady who is truly concerned that all her students understand the material no matter what. In addition, she is always smiling and has a very postive attitude.

Ignore neg comments. She is great! She does have accent, is not a problem. She is not fast paced, stuff from 030 isn't hard to remember. She explains well, sometimes too well. She spends a lot of time making sure everyone gets it. She cares very much and wants you to enjoy it. GREAT TEACHER!!!

She isn't as bad as everyone says, but 090 is a fast paced class. Just make sure to do the homework and ask questions about it. Test questions are always off of the homework, so if you take the time you'll do well in this class.

I liked this teacher. She seems to genuinely love math, and is pretty amusing, too. The material covered was easy in comparison to 093, and she explained it all very well.

I don't understand why so many negative comments. She was a great teacher with a passion for math. I have never enjoyed math, but I found this class really interesting. It is challenging. Don't let the name fool you. She doesn't give much graded homework and you have plenty of time to do it. I'm taking her 121 class next qtr. Highly recommend her.

I really enjoyed her as a professor and I think that she really enjoy's teaching. She's a sweet lady and very understanding and willing to work with you. There are a lot of people who don't like her, but I don't understand why. I think she's great!

I failed this course. She's clealry an expert in her field, and is a kind and generous person, but the way she grades is unreasonable. It's right, or it's wrong. No "A for effort" in this class. There's nightly homework (she grades each problem individually) and her tests are very difficult. If math's not your strong point, avoid this professor

She is a brilliant teacher. Everyone says she is hard. Well, boo hoo. She expects you to learn something. She gives you all the tools you need to pass her class. If you arent passing then you need to look at your own study habits. All the tests questions are from the suggested book questions listed on the syllabus.

Professor Mathur is an excellent teacher. In our class, she gives homework about twice a week. Though she has practice homework listed in the syllabus she recommends you do. Dr.Mathur is very clear, despite what everyone says, you can clearly understand what she says. Grades hard, but she's preparing us for higher math. Great Math Teacher!

i think that kanchan is a great teacher. so good, that after taking her for 095 im taking her this quarter for 203. she is very thorough in her explanations. and if you have a question she will take the time in front of class to answer it for you. she shows lots of examples and will focus more on certain subjects if needed. highly reccomended

Excellent teacher. Very patient and always willing to help. Lots of homework and lots of opportunity for extra credit. This is not an easy A class, but if you keep up on all of the homework you should do fine. She quarantees you will love math by the end of the quarter.... Can't say I LOVE math but I sure like it a lot more than I did.....

Give the woman a break. One CANNOT predict emergency medical crisis! 2 quarters with Mathur and despite unfortunate circumstances, she again proved herself engaging, helpful and considerate towards her students. Work hard, strive for the extra credit and any student should succeed in her class.

Mathur is one of the best teachers at Clark College - especially for Math 120 and 121. She offers a lot of extra credit on the worksheets, and her tests come right from the practice homework and worksheets. Also, if she sees the class is having problems, she will let the students use notecards or even a full sheet of paper for notes on the test! =]

Her lectures are easy to understand, but the homework can be much more complex than what she lectured on. She's very willing to help you outside class. Some of the non-graded homework had nothing to do with her lecture. This class is not an easy A.

Good teacher, yes her class is hard, but it is also fun. If you need help she will do all that she can. She is a tough grader on your work but that is how you learn.She is a nice lady and very funny.

Kanchan is a very good teacher

Kanchan is very helpful and kind. She loves teaching. She is kind and makes learning fun. She does have a funny cell phone policy though,if it goes off(even for a text or vibrating) she makes you sing! LOL in 3 trimesters with her, I only had to once. I have thoroughly enjoyed having Kanchan as my instructor.

I took an advanced course so it was fast and difficult, but if you did not understand she would find another way to explain things. She was awesome and funny. Do your book homework each day and you'll do good inher class.

Kanchan Mathur is amazing, I took Math 090 and am planning on taking 095 with her also. She is very helpful and explains things wonderfully. When you take notes it is much easier to do the homework.

Kanchan is one of the best math teachers I have ever had. I have always done poorly in math and she has a way of explaining things that just make sence. She is extremely helpful, you just can not be afraid to ask for help :-) She gives out practice homework that is not collected or graded and she hands out a graded homework worksheet about once!

She's a really good teacher and she explains the math concepts well, but she didn't let me use my TI-89 graphing calculator on tests cuz she wanted me to do math by hand.

Great teacher. She sometimes tells funny jokes to motivate students. She even put a joke at the end of a grading homework one time. I would recommend this teacher if you wanna learn calculus. One more thing: my suggestion is that she should grade in green and put stars next to correct answers instead of a check mark

She's a total sweetheart, really cares about teaching math, is funny, and her accent (which is very slight) will not take much getting used to (I thought it was cute and suits her well). Linear Algebra (MATH215) is a lot of theorem, and she loves talking about and explaining theorem. I gave her a chili because she's adorable. :)

Kanchan is fantastic! She cares about her students and she loves math. She will do anything she can to help if you have a problem, just talk to her. She is a very nice and approachable person.

Mrs. Mathur is an awesome math teacher. She gives extra credit on every hw and test. Attendance is not mandatory and most the HW is not graded. If you go to class you should be able to pass.If you don't you will likely fail. She tests on her lectures more than out of the book. Great class, great teacher. Really fun, for a math class:)

I don't understand why Kanchan has so many negative reviews. I had her for two classes and though she was wonderful. She has a very likable personality and wants all her students to do well. Hence the extra credit available on every assignment. All of them... and most tests.

I enjoyed her class. It was apparent who was in the class to learn and who was there to just get by. If you take notes during lecture, do the homework, and work hard you will pass this class. She offers extra credit and that is awesome. I love the class and teacher; math is not easy for me at all but she made it easier. She wants you to pass.

Great teacher! She explains everything, if you have questions she will answer them. I brought up some points about extra credit that she didn't think about and it helped my grade! She grades hard, but if you do all the homework then you should pass. Great person and very funny!

She is great at explaining problems but there is way too much homework. There is graded homework every class and even more practice problems. You will do good if you attend class and ask questions when you have them.

Mathur is a nice lady who is always willing to help every student. She has daily office hours which make it easy to get one on one help from her. If she notices you're not doing well she will recommend that you come to get office. It can be hard to understand her at times because she has a THICK Indian accent. Other than that, she's great.

I enjoyed this class very much. I also took College Trig with Dr. Mathur. She is kind, intelligent, and very very good at coming up with clear answers to your questions. I appreciate her concise instruction. You have to work hard, but if it isn't challenging then you must not be growing, right? Worth it, especially if you want to learn math.

Dr. Mathur is a very nice woman, who goes out of her way to help her students. She does Saturday study sessions, what other teacher does that!? Although, her class is very, very fast paced and if you don't study and do all the practice hw, you're likely to not do well and sometimes she puts things on the tests/quizzes that we didn't go over.

I took Calc 3 with her and it was such an easy class. Her exams are composed of even problems from the book. Her graded homework questions (which include even problems from book) appear regularly on the exam. She allowed notes for all exams. Easy class.

Mrs. Mathur is a very kind instructor and she is very very knowledgeable about math. She explains well and she also writes definitions and rules on the board, which is very helpful during note-taking. Overall, good amount of work involved, tests were very similar to homework. Great instructor :)

Kanchan is a great teacher. I took diffeq over the summer and its not an easy class. She does her best to teach you the material well, and she does a good job, very clear notes and examples from the book. Exams and homework come from the book so do the practice and you're set. As far as grading goes, she's fair but not that easy.

I've never been good in math & usually have a hard time with comprehension but she teaches VERY well, and if the look on someone's face indicates a lack of understanding, she will stop and ensure there is no confusion. She's a harsh grader & gives lots of homework, but I actually like math now and see its relevance bc of her enthusiasm & clarity.

I failed MATH&151 last spring and was very discouraged. I was thinking about changing my major because I thought I couldn't get through calculus. After taking this class with Mathur I feel like a calculus guru. She is native to India, but very easy to understand. She teaches the whole calc series and I plan to stay with her as long as I can.

Great professor, will take the time to help you outside of class. Gives clear notes and lectures, but moves through problems fast, especially simplifying big expressions; it's important to understand prerequisites. Quite a bit of HW, half is graded on completion, other is looked through carefully. Offers extra credit on most everything, even exams.

-Positives about her: She likes her students, and she is always ready to help. She has extra credit on -Negatives about her: Her exams are so hard. If 90% of class is less than B it's not all about students. She also cut off grades so easy. She grades homework for accuracy. You need 95% if you are looking for an A in her class.

I just wanna say that I don't enjoy math anymore. I used to love math before this class, but I was worry about next tough, tricky exam all the quarter.

Tons of extra credit, just be sure to do the homework. The test & homework both have extra credit plus various other opportunities. She's does skip a lot of steps though when solving equations in class so be sure to ask questions if you get lost. If you do the homework, you'll get a good grade on the test which will likely get you an A at the end.

I took her for Calc 1 and struggle but passed with a C. I took her again for Calc 2 but I did much better on the homework and test. I was at 93% exam average for the first 3; close to 100% for practice and graded homework, after I took the 4th exam and final I some how manage to get a C. No response to my emails, now grades are posted FML.

Always helpful and class is fun. I failed Calculus I twice before I took Mathur. She helped me fill in the gaps and pass the class. Now I'm flying through he calculus sequence with her. Also, she likes to teach us cool math tricks to show to our friends at parties which has increased my social standing among my peers.

She been my favorite math teacher by far. I've taken the nearly the entire Calc sequence with her and I've loved it. She is really good at explaining things, and she has a passion for math like no other. She also offers lots extra credit. She loves the subject she teaches and just wants everyone to see it like she does. She will always help.

This is an awesome teacher! I've had her for Calc 2 and 3. The way she teaches is very clear to understand and follow her logic. All of her exams and takehome quizzes are based on the homework she assigned from the book. Do the homework and you ll be good!

I took Calc 1,2,and 4 with Mrs Mathur. She does a great job at teaching and rarely makes mistakes. She has very organized process when she is explaining concepts and examples. If you want to do well in her class keep up with the homework(really, do all the HW).Exams are a good mix of Easy, Medium, and Hard questions.

I've had Professor Mathur for the entire Calculus sequence and I must say she's amazing. She explains difficult topics in an understandable way, and will reexplain something if the class looks confused. She's also hilarious, and if you need help she'll go out of her way to make time for you. She is easily one of if not the best professor I've had!

Since I took math for elementary school teachers with Mathur, I had a small class size. She made sure to answer any questions we had, and we had plenty of time to converse with classmates about the material. Her lectures were straightforward, and with her accent, you don't get tired of listening to her. You do need to set aside time for homework.

She's really good at breaking down material and giving clear explanations of new concepts, and she will go through examples to make sure you understand how to solve the problems. She tells really silly math jokes and tries to make math less painful which is hard to do in Calc 4 lets be real

Quite a bit of homework and is a pretty tough grader, but she tries to make sure the class understands whats going on and does a lot of examples during class. Her test questions are all very similar to her hw questions. She gives extra credit on every single assignment and exam. No late work accepted, but she drops a few of your lowest hw grades.

Come to class, do the homework, and you should be good. She gives a goof amount of extra credit on her exams and homework.

I really enjoyed Kanchan's linear algebra class. It was my first class with her but a lot of the students had taken her for all their calc, and she really seems to build relationships with her students. She loves math and she explained conceptually heavy material very well. She grades hw a little harsh but more forgiving on tests. LOTS of EC too!

Kanchan Mathur is a great professor and you can tell she is passionate about what she teaches. Although the material is difficult and is graded hard, she tries really hard to make sure you understand why you got something wrong and how to fix it so that you can be successful on the exams. I wish I could have taken her for the whole calculus series.

While stats can be dull, Kanchan tries her best to get everyone engaged. I respect her, but sometimes she can be a little confusing. Make sure to double check Pearson when taking her class and email her about assignments that's look out of place, because that happens a lot. Otherwise her quizes and tests are fair and the homework is not hard.

I had her for Math for the entire Math for Elementary Teachers sequence. She is tough , but fair. If you do the work and apply yourself you should do fine! All assignments have the opportunity for extra credit.

Stats is a difficult course, but Kanchan really tries to make it enjoyable for everyone. She is fun and really passionate about math, and tries to help her students find the joy of math as well. Her math t-shirts are super fun. She is also fantastic at handling difficult situations presented her by students with bad attitudes towards the class.

I took Professor Mathur for STATS. She's a great professor, always smiling and joking around. When it comes to grades your tests are a large portion. But if you do the homework you will do good on the exams. She's always available to her students. And makes exceptions to taking quizzes at different times. Overall great professor and always helpful.

I loved Kanchan! She was respectful of students and understanding that most of us were taking multiple other classes - graded homework was definitely doable and if I had questions she was always quick to explain during office hours. Linear Algebra is an extremely different math class, so material was hard to understand but she explained it well.

Prof. Mathur is very good at teaching math, but does assign 5+ hours of homework per week, both on paper which usually takes 2 hrs and WebAssign which is typically easier. Usually you get 2-3 days to do it. Make sure to study thoroughly for the 3 exams as they will make or break your grade. The material is hard but Mathur is a great professor.

Dr. Mathur knows her stuff. She communicated the course material clearly and concisely. Usually had about 50-70 hw problems assigned, 40 of which were graded and required. 7 quizzes, 3 tests, and a final. She grades hard but genuinely wishes success for her students. Makes lots of jokes and has an office hour everyday. I hope to take more from her!

Mathur is SO FUNNY! And gives amazing lectures that explain the material really well. Study hard for the 3 tests though- they will define your grade. Also, Mathur always grants extensions for homework/quizzes when asked.

I really respect Kanchan both as a professor and as an individual. I went through a depressive episode during one of her classes, and she was nothing but supportive and caring during this time. The work was difficult, especially if you don't show up to lecture times, but she's clear and concise when it comes to explanations. Great teacher.

Professor Mathur is a solid choice for this class. Calculus is hard material to learn in general, but she makes great lecture videos. Shes a fair grader, but there is a lot of homework. If you can, get to know her. Shes very nice and shows genuine care for her students. Shes also pretty funny!

I am not a good math student and this class taught me I will be able to teach my students math, and do it well. Since this class was online I was able to watch the videos numerous times to grasp the concepts at hand. I will be taking two more classes with Kanchan and look forward to doing so.

Prof. Kanchan is a good teacher and really loves math. Her tests and quizzes aren't hard and really is just so you get the basic idea of how to do it. Same goes for the 3 exams and 1 final. They aren't hard with crazy questions but sort of questions you can do if you have the basics down. I would reccomend her but a lot of homework though.Good luck

Kanchan is old school, which means you should know what you are getting yourself into. Lots of homework, paper tests and exams, and stickler for points. That being said, she really tries to help you learn the material. No, she isn't going to tell you exactly how to do each question, but she will help you understand the bigger ideas.

I took Calc IV online with Dr. M and she was amazing. I mean if she has 'Math' in her last name, she must be good! Her lecture videos provide proofs and clear examples of what will be on the homework, midterms, and final so you won't get any curveballs. She also doesn't mind much about notation error; a rarity in the Clark math department!
