king**** chen for is not a good teacher at all. his tests are open book but they have nothing to do with the class. he makes this statics/dynamics class only dynamics and his lectures consist of him deriving formula after formula. good luck
his teaching is bad
Good teacher. Sometimes hard to follow because he is very fast pace but extremely helpful if you go talk to him outside of class. He is willing to help. Do the homework and youll be just fine in the class. you won't need the open book if you do the homework. youll get 100% on his tests.
Took his statics/dynamics course. Not overly hard...just do the homework and go to class and you should be fine. Doing the homework involves getting into a study group, it definatly makes your life easier. It also involves going to his office for help, he won't mind helping. Nice guy.
Not too bad and not too good. The tests are easier than normal. He only covered two or three chapters on each test. Tries to help. Nice guy
I had him for summer school a couple of years ago. I did not learn much at all in this class except how to use SolidWorks and some mechanical engineering thing he tried to teach us! He was not very clear and he is not very effective in teaching muliti-disciplinary engineering classes.
The only reason this teacher does not get a 5 for easiness is because of the homework assignments, which take a significant amount of time. They are very easy though. Tests with notes on occasion and final project is 50% of grade (which makes no sense considering the rest of the work performed prior to the project).
horrible teacher i understod nothing and i had to study on my own
Plus: Mostly a positive attitude, and gives three simple exams. Minus: Chinese accent makes communication less than meaningful, and he gets frustrated as well when misunderstandings occur. Lecture-style is forgettable. Does not appear to have much time to teach this class (and therefore little effort).
Comes in with a great attitude everyday. Uses very detailed examples. Go to class everyday, take notes and do the homework, and there is no reason you can't do well.
This class is incredibly straight-forward. His lectures are slow-paced and pretty easy to understand. Tests open-book open note. He even let people use their laptops if they "had wireless turned off."
The class is very straight forward and the tests are open book open note. With a little study and his lectures you can grasp the concepts to do hw and ace the tests. Attendance not mandatory but I encourage it as you can use them on test. Unfortunately they can be rather long as he tends to oversimplify things and boring to sit for 2 straight hrs
Chen is a great teacher to take for 240. Very difficult class but he teaches it well. Tests are open book open note open computer (no internet). Study the HW and do extra problems in the book and you will be able to grasp the concepts.
Great professor. Tests are open note, so show up to class everyday. Class is optional, however OPEN NOTES! Do more than just the homework problems and you will do well. Exam problems easier than homework problems.
Chen is the man. Took him for 212 also. Open book/note exams, however actually doing the homework and extra is needed to benefit from this. Exams actually easier than the homework if you put in the work and get what is going on. Chen is helpful outside of class when needed as well. Highly recommend and will take him whenever possible.
Chen is the best professor ever!!! He truly takes pride in his students' grades. Incredibly helpful at office hours
This is truly the definition of a fair class. Tests are relatively easy if you completely understand the concept. Homework is hard but prepares you well for exams. He is intimidating and will talk down to you in office hours, but he loves the topic and is an outstanding professor
Mechanics is a hard class and very boring material. Lectures are longggg but he does a good job at trying to keep your attention. His tests are definitely fair and he is willing to give points back if you go see him in office hours. Tests are easier than the homework, exact same format though. Good guy. Would recommend!
Dr. Chen it the absolute man. Thermofluids is a difficult course, but he does a great job explaining all the concepts, and makes it easy as possible. Super approachable and will help with anything you need in office hrs. Everything for HW and the tests can be found in the book. Far and away the best professor I have had in any engineering course.
Great professor. Clearly explains what is expected on tests and assigns relevant homework in a clear, concise method. Definitely recommend.
Chen is incredibly enthusiastic about this class, it basically is completely about his research. He is a little hard to understand at times but always will clarify himself if a question is asked. He made it obvious what he wanted you to know for the exams, but the homework is unrelated.
Enthusiastic, fair grader with pretty easy tests. Notes are hard to take though, as he jumps around the board.
Chen is super enthusiastic about the subject he teaches, which makes it interesting for the students too. He's a little crazy during lectures, but it keeps your attention and he communicates the notes very clearly and uses good examples. Exams are very easy, much easier than the homework.
Great teacher and enthusiastic and legitimately cares about students grasping the concept rather than being juggling monkeys.
Chen is a good teacher. He taught some of the classes and the section leader taught other classes. Basically, show up to class and get an A. There were a few assignments due at the end of the semester but nothing difficult. After all, this is just ASU 101. After taking this class with him, I would definitely take one of my later classes with Chen.
Not helpful at all. There is no curve or extra credit !
Thermo I: tough subject but in his own words "I am testing you on the bare minimum that is expected" far easier than other sections. Once did maybe 10% of a problem on a test and got 60% credit for it, easy grader if you can fumble through anything you didn't study enough for. Homework every week, all in book.
He makes a tough subject understandable. Homework is essential to understanding and practicing the material. If you can do the homework you can do the tests. I would go through all the homeworks prior to the tests for review, and thats it and I got an A+. fair grader, good lecturer.
Thermo isn't easy, he makes it interesting though. His enthusiasm makes the super long lectures not too bad. Actually do your homework and some extra problems and you will do good on the tests. Overall he is one of my favorite teaches. Highly recommended.
Chen is the best professor I've ever had. He's so enthusiastic about what he's teaching you that it makes you want to learn it. His tests are just like the homework and examples in class, he's not out to trick you. Averages were always in the 80s. He loves when people go to his office hours & is really helpful. 10/10 would take for every class ever
This guy will inspire you to change majors. BEWARE ...
After taking this course you'll have a whole new view of what a ZERO is. Move to Canada or join the foreign legion - all better idea than better than having Chen for this course.
Bad professor.
You'll be so, so sorry ...
I thought that ASU was a top engineering school, but after Chen I'm looking for another school. Just unbelievably poor teacher.
He is on my list of worst professors I've ever had. I passed this class is because I learned to solve problems on my own. If I had followed his lectures I'd be lost- impossible to understand.
Chen is one of the best engineering professors I've ever had! He's enthusiastic, and so willing to help out his students. Yes, he has an accent, but you shouldn't let that determine whether or not he's a good teacher. He's very caring, funny, and a wonderful human being! 10/10 recommend
Without a doubt the Chen is the worst professor I've had at ASU. Exams were wildly inconsistent. Lectures were beyond useless. Stay away at all cost.
Horrible lecturer - very confusing. The only way to get anything out of Chen's lectures is to make your own notes on the chapter and attempt to follow along. I basically had to teach myself. Learned more from recitation instructor - when she showed up. Good luck
Okay first of all, all the past comments about him look like they are from one hater who posted multiple times. Secondly Chen is great. I took thermo before with Bocanegra and I dropped it. I literally have an a+ in the class The tests are not hard. Just redo homework and you will get it Dont listen to the guy below TAKE HIM. TRUST ME
Good teacher! Teaches straight from book (try to use it). His exams were pretty easy besides maybe one question. He grades very fairly and homework is not too bad (solution can be found online). Go to class and take notes, they help. Learn the tables and graphs and you will get an A+. He has an accent but it isn't too hard to understand.
I would not recommend taking Chen. Lectures did not help with homework and the homework did not reflect what would be on the test. It was very hard to understand lecture.
The lectures are formatted pretty well and if you follow along and listen your notes will be great. The tests were actually pretty easy if you showed up prepared. He is a fair grader and overall the class was a great experience.
He might be knowledgeable in his field, but Chen is a very bad professor. The classes were tough to follow, covered a lot of topics in a short period of time. You will not understand anything from his lecture and there are few study materials available outside. Felt like he is not much interested in helping us learn.
Even if you attend, you don't understand the material. Lecture topics lag homework by about a month - no synchronization. Grading is outrageously unfair. If there is someone else who can teach this you'd be better off avoiding Kangping Chen altogether.
Dr. Chen is great! I would disregard a lot of the negative reviews below, it seems like one person just kept writing negative reviews to lower his rating. But Dr. Chen is amazing, I learned so much from his lectures, and he is super helpful in office hours! Thermo is a long class but he makes it worth it!
Chen is the best professor I've ever had-- he's super excited about thermo, and it makes you want to learn the material too. Exams are just like the hw/examples, he's not out to get you. He loves it when students go to office hours, 10/10 recommend for every class possible
Chen is very enthusiastic about thermofluids; he would teach far more than what was necessary and go into extreme detail, which is probably why some people were confused, but he makes it very clear what you will be tested on. Chen didn't teach you how to do his tests, he taught you how to do thermofluids. Exams were easy if you did the homework.
HW is 4-5 problems weekly&recitation isn't required. You get the grade you deserve. I got 77% on the 1st test, 95% on the 2nd, and 92% on the 3rd because I put more effort into studying for the later tests. If you don't understand something, go to office hours! If you don't do well, it's not Chen's fault. He doesn't even do +/-
Amazing professor, explains everything clearly, twice. The only difficulty I had were the last topics on fluid mechanics which he made overly confusing. The 3 tests he gives are extremely easy because he allows for a cheat sheet and covers everything you need to know. I was unprepared for the final however but mostly through my own fault.
Chen's lectures do not make any sense most of the time. His writing is illegible. He constantly makes mistakes, which makes note taking a chore.
Not a very good professor. He goes too fast in lecture. Chen's writing is hard to read, he makes mistakes in almost every problem he uses in examples. His tests are graded unfairly.
Usually left lecture more confused than would have been just reading the book. Can't read anything he writes on the board, and never understand anything he says. Precious little study materials - Chen doesn't post past exams or study guides. I'd turn back, if I were you.
The averages on all of his midterms were in the 80s, and he didn't curve. Even on the final plenty of people finished before time was up. He allowed a full page cheat sheet on the midterms and 2 pages for the final, plus the textbook. Gave reviews the week before the midterms and always returned homework and tests in a timely manner.
Promptly returned homework because Chen only graded half (50%) of the homework. Work hard and submit 4 problems each week and got rewarded with half the worked being checked. Just the tip of the bogus iceberg.
Unclear lecture, doesn't give out practice midterms or study guides. Exams are not similar to homework. Take this professor ONLY if you are VERY independent, or have a great tutor.
Kangping Chen's MAE240 is the most confusing and frustrating class I've ever taken. Avoid Chen at all costs.
Don't take Chen's class if you plan on learning any engineering.
I am an Engineering major, and I used to like thermodynamics until I had Chen. He will be the reason why I switch: poor hand writing, poor explanations, horrific accent, avoid at all cost.
Not very fluent in English, tests are difficult, very dull material presented in a more dull way. Would not recommend this professor for this class if you have the option. Positive reviews look like they're from Chen.
The lectures are very hard to follow and the material isn't presented in a useful, practical, or memorable way. Tests are more challenging than they should be because of this. Professor Chen is a pleasant, funny guy even though his accent can be hard to understand at times. Grading is clearly unfair.
About 30% of class did really well and 30% did really bad. Rest were average. If you come to every class, listen, take the notes, and actually do the homework you will pass. Reason for this is because, he is very test heavy. But if you study your notes and do the HW over, you will do fine on the test. If you understand the HW, thetest will be fine
If you are an engineering major trying to keep a good GPA and have other things to devote yourself to, besides this class, you had better take someone else.
Professor Chen was incredible, but tough. Lectures are important but accessible during office hours. Willing to help if you put in the work and show you care, and is passionate about the subject.
Very good person and the material is important. Lectures are sometimes hard to follow. Expectations are also not very well spelled out.
4 HW problems each week. 2 tests & a final. Go to lectures and actually do the HW, and you will have enough understanding for the tests (which you get cheat sheets on also). He is a fair professor, and the grade you get is what you deserve. Took him for Thermo I & II, and I wish he taught more classes b/c his tests are fair. No +/- except A+
great professor. 2 exams and a final, open book and 1 cheat sheet for all exams. Exam problems are similar to homework, maybe slightly harder. always felt like I got a better grade than I deserved. Bit of an accent but can still understand easily. terrible handwriting! Lecture notes can be hard to follow but its straight from the textbook!
The class started off a bit bad for me, since he seemed to ask us to recall some things from a long time ago, but after that, everything was relatively easy to follow notes wise. His homework can be a bit hard or tedious if doing an iteration problem, but if you understand the homework, you will do fine on the tests.
When I saw his rate my professor grade, I was flabbergasted. He is a great teacher. His lectures were interesting and animated, his homeworks and tests were reasonable. He clearly cares about his students, I'd recommend him highly. I skipped a significant amount of class and still got an A.
Hard class, but if you show up to lectures and do the homework, you should do good in the class. He has been one of the best professors I've taken at the university.
I took Chen last semester and he is hands down one of the best teachers I have ever had. I saw his rate my professor this low and had to pipe up. Maybe he was different years ago but the man today is a respectful, hilarious, and engaging teacher. I could not recommend him more highly. Do be warned, this class material is tough, go to class.
Kangking Chen is by far and away the greatest educator I have ever met during my miserable time at ASU. He has great enthusiasm for the material, he cracks the occasional joke, and his lecture notes all correlate with the homework, which also make for very handy test notes. I need more writing space to gush over how amazing of a professor he is.
Dr. Chen is definitely who you want to take for MAE384. Homework is very straight forward, not as heavy on MATLAB as some of the other professors. No surprises on the tests. Lectures can be kind of boring, but are mostly straight from the book. Hilarious!!
He is the professor you want for 384. Homework isn't difficult just look up the examples in the book if you're lost. Most of the lectures are downloadable powerpoints but I would recommend going to the lecture incase he writes something important on the board. GO TO RECITATION! Codes are usually talked about and more examples from class are given.
This class isn't terribly difficult, nor does it have a lot of assignments (about 1 every two weeks or so), but the final and homework grades are each worth 40%, so beware of that. He was always available outside of class for me and really seemed to care about helping students.
He's really a good guy; wants everyone to do well. Compared to the other 384 classes this semester, his was definitely the easiest. Homework was assigned about once every two weeks, and there's only one midterm. Recitations were helpful. Most homework could be done by just using the textbook. Midterm and final were open book with cheat sheet.
This was the third time I've taken one of his classes. Thermo I & II were amazing with him. This class was tougher because it was all powerpoint based lectures which I hated. Skipping class was a bad move because of the difficulty of the material. Tests are typically like easier homework problems and he grades generously because of no curve.
Homework is similar to in class examples, tests greatly resemble homeworks and you are allowed to use a page of notes and your textbook. All notes were written on the board, but he posted lecture slides online that went over concepts. Overall, not too difficult
His class is very easy if you can get through the first test. Even then it's all open book and cheat sheet for exams. Homework is directly out of book and not too difficult. He is a funny guy and cares about the class. I'd recommend him over other options
This dude is so excited about what he teaches and he is extremely lenient in grading. He let us bring a cheat sheet into exams so they were also super easy. Only downside is the order he taught the class seemed purposefully meant to weed out students early - teaching stuff we would need later stuff to do, but overall was a good class.
Dr. Chen's lectures were my favorite lectures to go to this semester by far. He always had so much energy and the concepts in this class weren't too difficult, so paying attention wasn't very hard. While this is an easy A (as long as you do the work), you will not learn much MATLAB at all, which can catch up to you in your later classes.
As stereotypical as it sounds, he is the definition of an Asian dad. Speaks loudly, with a thick accent, seems to care but likes to challenge you, and is kinda old fashioned. His lectures aren't very good honestly, but the material itself is clear cut and is tested fairly. Not really any complaints. Just study a bit on your own.
He's pretty okay. Don't feel like I learned much but got an A.
Don't skip class, go to recitation. The TA is very helpful to help with your homework. Tests are easy and similar to homework. Midterms and final are open book, 1-page cheat sheet. Great teacher, energetic, the little problem is his accent
Chen is a really cool guy who teaches you more than you need to know to pass the class. He does this so you understand why the class is important, but if you're not interested you still have no problems passing his class. Do all of the homework, the TA is super helpful. He lectures straight from the book. His tests are reworked homework examples.
Do not skip lectures, attendance isn't taken but you will probably not understand the content if you don't go. Dr. Chen is hilarious and his lecturing makes sense. First few weeks are kind of tough to understand, but Chen is easily accessible outside of class. Super easy to talk to, never felt uncomfortable asking questions.
His homework's are not bad at all after the first few on partial differential equations. The recitations are so helpful, basically a big hint into what you will need to do on the homework. Most of the homework problems mirror an example worked out in the textbook, and the tests are open book! Genuinely nice guy who is passionate about his class.
He was fantastic for 384; no curveballs on exams, great lectures, pretty good sense of humor, just an all around great guy. Handled the covid situation very well via fair grading and some assignment changes. Just put some effort in and you'll be fine.
This man is electric! So much passion into his lectures I can feel the lecture hall move. He was an awesome lecturer and the TA is extremely helpful as well. The first section is hard and then the rest is cheese.
Dr Chen lectures very clearly and concisely. Can seem intimidating at first but you always feel comfortable asking questions. The class can feel very long just because he goes very in depth into the material but no curveballs on exams. Homework graded leniently, just put in the effort.
Dr. Chen can come off as intimidating at first but he is very kind and wants his students to do well. Very helpful in office hours. Tough class but if you start the homework early and go to his office hours you'll be fine. It's hard but fun, basically a way harder version of PHY 121
Chen teaches ok, but his notes are a bit difficult to understand. This is a pretty difficult class normally so you must be prepared for that. I personally struggled even more doing it online. Chen is very understanding so if you have any technical/life issues and email him he will accommodate
Chens method of teaching is very clear and concise. Homeworks are typically 2-3 questions solved either by hand or Matlab. No projects, 2 tests and a final. He completely restructured his class and no longer starts with 1D heat equation which was the only difficult part of class. Tests are open book/note. Hes a very good choice for this class!
While a poor choice for dynamics, Chen is surprisingly decent for 384. Very fair homework and exams. Do note I had him in Spring 2021, during covid times. Also very caring and accommodating.
Horrible choice, just yells at you because you do not understand the subject.
Chen exams are like the HW probs just a little bit harder, so just practice the HW probs and u be fine, warning notes does not make sense at all, read the book and practice the book probs, exams will be easy because i was able to finish exam 2 in 30 min, do not underestimated open textbook exams
Chen is a very solid choice for MAE 384. Everything is clear, You will Not do a lot of Matlab in his class. if you can do the HW you will do wonderful in exams. his lectures are boring but very useful.
Dr. Chen is an okay choice for MAE202. The class is so difficult already that I am not sure whether my distaste for the class is related to the professor or the course material. The lectures were alright, but I found the posted notes to be hard to follow (I used Dr. Murthy's published lectures when reference was needed). Book is a good reference.
Dr. Chen is a good choice for 384. Chen's class definitely learned more than the other section (Dr. Peete). Homework was generally pretty easy with the tests being slightly harder. Definitely buy the textbook as many of the homework and test questions are very similar. Recitations were a waste of time.
The material for MAE 384 is dry and boring, yet Dr. Chen really tries during his lectures to be enthusiastic and energetic to engage students. His expectations were extremely clear; the homeworks were easy 100%'s as long as you did them and he gave lots of partial credit on exams. Lets you use textbook and 1 "cheat sheet" on each exam.
lectures are easy to follow and he is very enthusiastic. He gives 1 homework assignment a week that is normally 4 or 5 problems, easy if you follow along and the book is helpful (free PDF online). Tests are open book and usually very close to homework problems. Honestly one of my favorite classes and professors so far.
Dr. Chen has been an outstanding prof. His lectures are quite wordy and his notes are not the most organized, so they require your true attention in order to understand well. He also has a pretty thick accent. BUT, he is always helpful with questions, never condescending, uses pretty funny (dry) humor, gives huge test hints, and grades very light!
Dr. Chen's lectures were all over the place and hard to follow. I heavily used the textbook to learn this course as I could not understand his lectures. Overall, the homework and exams were very fair for this course. Dr. Chen is a very nice and understanding man and a happy guy overall, just not the greatest lecturer.
Decent teacher but the lectures were not great. His lessons are very hard to follow and contain a lot of unhelpful and confusing. The homework and tests were fairly easy which balanced it out but you have to do a decent amount of learning on your own.
Chen is a great professor and truly wants you to understand the material. The class is graded by homework(30%) 2 tests(50%) and final(20%). The two tests are very easy and you're allowed cheat sheets. The tests are the same as the homework so just copy down those on your cheat sheet. Even though its a CS course, you will not use a lot of MATLAB.
He is pretty good at lecturing the material but his notes can be a little hard to understand outside of class, the class is easy as long as you see the TA for help and Chen's office hours if necessary. Just make sure to have good notes on the cheat sheet for the exams.
Light load class, HW is easy and only 1 or 2 problems a week. Literally just go to class, write down what he writes, and then put that on your cheat sheets for the exams and you will pass. Recitation is not mandatory and the solutions get posted later. Most of the coding is just altering code given by the TA or the book. Great professor, def take
Dr. Chen gave us all the information needed to do well on homework and exams. His class was very straight forward. I like his teaching style more than Wilber's (he's also good, just not my style of learning). I definitely would take Dr. Chen again.
Very straight forward lectures and reviews what type of question will be on the exams. Has the best TA's for rec and office hours. Very easy if you pay attention during lecture to the hints he gives.
Show up to lectures because looking at his notes after is confusing. The grader for the HW is pretty strict, so go to office hours. Recitation isn't mandatory but you go over problems like the homework. Grading is 2 midterms 25% each, 30% is homework, and final is 20%. Understand and know how to do the homework, as the exams are slightly changed hw
Chen is a solid professor for this class. The homework is manageable, and the exams are fair if you utilize the provided cheat sheets. Attendance is mandatory, and the textbook is helpful. unstuck study proved to be a useful study tool alongside the class resources.
The professor is good, he cares for students and his homework concepts are covered in class lectures. Homework is not difficult. He teaches well and builds the concepts from basic. The TA was good as well. Clears all doubts during his office hours. Overall, I liked the course structure, the professor, and the TA.
Gives great lectures, we had I think 8 or 9 homeworks, 3 midterms and a final in the semester. Homeworks aren't too bad; cheat sheets for exams. Way easier class than I expected tbh
GOAT. Show up and pay attention. Drops some wild hints during his lectures that are basically the exam questions. Will never trick you on exams, everything is super fair
Literally the 242 goat. Chen drops hints about what type of questions will be on the exam, and has great lectures. I'd strongly suggest taking this course with Chen, and its honestly way easier than I expected.
242 goat. Straight forward, and super funny.
Dr. Chen made fluids super easy. The exams are super straight forward, and he never will trick you at all. The homework really helps you prepare for the exams. Dr. Chen is super funny, and I would 100% take fluids with him. The course overall isnt too hard, just be sure to understand the homeworks.
Kangping Chen is the goat...
Simply the GOAT, cannot recommend him enough. Chen is a funny and cool guy and he genuinely cares about the class and wants to see you work hard and succeed. Attend his lectures and study up, homeworks were good for studying and reviewing lecture. Class was overall very enjoyable, 10/10 what a guy
I give benefit of the doubt to Dr. Chen for this being his first semester teaching the course. The class structure was simple, but the schedule fluctuated a lot. Lectures were proof-heavy, which meant homeworks were very "figure it out on your own" style. Exams were straightforward and reflected well on homework.
Incredible professor, absolutely loves fluid mechanics and will have you loving fluid mechanics too at the end. Didn't throw any major curveballs at you in the exams, gave very straightforward and entertaining lectures. I would absolutely take MEE472 with him when the time comes.
Went to one lecture. The material was always made digestible. From the few interactions I had with him he was very enthusiastic and showed great passion for the material. The course had 3 manageable exams and 7 homework assignments. Compared to the other fluids instructors he was the best. Very straight forward course.
Chen is by far the best Fluids prof, especially for this weed out class. Has the best TAs and reccomend utilizing office hours to really understand the concepts. Lectures were at 7am but not required, but chen did his best to make the lecture interesting. Favorite prof/class this semester. No extra credit/curve + make sure you get your concepts
No tricks, very straight forward exams. Do the homework, and youll be fine. If you can't integrate.... DONT BE AN ENGINEER.
good prof, textbook can be easily (((arrrrrr-ed))), reasonable funny guy
Sometimes hard to understand in class. Exams this semester were sloppily put together, but this isn't necessarily due to this professor. When taking this class, make sure to go over recitation and hw solutions to better understand the content.
Chen was a humble, hilarious guy that made the boring material seem a little bit more interesting. Engaging and practical professor!
Chen's lectures were quite informative and I definitely learned a good amount of the course just watching him do examples in class, he also cracked jokes and occasionally told stories which was nice. His grading was pretty standard so dont expect anything good or bad. While his class was difficult at times I'd recommend him over the other options.
Dr. Chen's section scored higher than the other sections on all three midterms. He is probably the best professor to learn fluid mechanics from. Exams and homeworks were a little difficult, but if you attend recitations and office hours regularly, then it is possible to succeed in this class.
This professor does not read or reply to emails, no matter of what he tells you in the class. There is no point in attending the class as you won't be able to understand what he is talking about. If you ask him about something, he will answer about something else.
If you need to take ASU101 with Professor Chen, he's super lenient and very easy. All you literally have to do is show up and do a couple of assignments once a week, and you get to leave most of the time. You can also just tune out of the lectures and do other assignments as well. However, attendance is mandatory.
Amazing professor for 242. Clearly explained the material, and made lectures pretty funny. The exams for this class were very fair, along with the homework. 242 had some of the best TA's, who were extremely helpful. If you can take this course with chen, would strongly suggest!
