I took her class in the summer, so it was really fast paced. but being faced paced and all her class was easy. she's a great teacher!

She's a really great teacher. One of the best professors I have took. Really knows her stuff, and takes time to explain every little detail if you're confuse. If you want a nice, helpful, and intelligent professor take her.

Easy A. She explains and reviews everything over and over even before the quizzes/tests. Even though she may teach like we're elementary kids, it's helpful...in getting an A!

This teacher is the greatest! She really makes sure that you understand everything, and is easy to pay attention to. If you get confused, she will explain until you get it. Her style is great, and if you can put in just a little effort, you should get an A.

This is an EASY class. If you want an A just show up, take notes and make sure you understand them; otherwise, read the book and take it from there. The test could get tricky, but overall they were preety easy. Labs are easy but fast paced. Make sure you do all labs and take quizes. Overall, this class was super easy.

I enjoyed her class because she inspires me to actually learn the stuff she presents. She is always willing to help you and is extremely reasonable. I encourage everyone to take the class. Her tests are difficult but she reviews all the material almost every class period. She is a really good teacher. I am taking her for 1409 as well!

Dr.Hagenbuch is very qualified and a great teacher. She explains everything until everyone understands things. I would reccomend her for anyone who wants to actually learn something in Biology.

She was a great professor. Her tests were long, but there was nothing on there that she didnt teach and put in her powerpoints (which are available online and very good study tools) If I needed more bio I would take her again and again.

This professor knows her stuff and knows exactly what she's talking about. But you will need to come with your "A" game because she expects you to learn a lot. Read all of the power points and take notes, do the labs, and come to class everyday and you will pass.

Man this young teacher is great. she is funny and makes biology fun. No homework, LOTS of studying, but she makes everything very interesting.

OMG!!!Professor Hagenbuch is the BEST Biology for Non-Majors Profesesor on campus for Lone Star College-North Harris!! Very Fair with everything.Attendance is not mandatory you should go everyday because you have a lab everyday except on exam days. She is sweet and relates Biology to real life!! I took her for 1408/1409 take her you will not regret

She's a great teacher. U do need 2b n class to get the stuff she writes on the board sometimes. She's very helpful and everything that is on the test is from your notes. You don't need a book for her class because she tells you herself if its not in the lecture then its not going to be on the test. Same way with quizzes. I took her 4non-major 1408

Dr. H is great. I didn't have to buy a book for the class as mentioned in other comments. She has quizzes and labs daily and although she says attendence isnt counted those as daily grades which goes towards your final overall grade, so you really want to go to class. I only needed her class to graduate but I foung I really enjoyed going!!!

dont waste your time taking any biology prof besides her. Shes the BEST! shes young, nice, funny, helpful, and really cares about her students. she makes her class interesting. LOVE YOU DR. H!

BEST PROFESSOR AT LONESTAR!

Dr. H is the best science professor ever. She really engages all of her students into her lessons. All the lessons are on Angel for you to review. Her test are pretty fair, just really read your power point notes. Labs are fun they aren't boring. All in all she is pretty awesome. Take her! I learned a lot. And I'm not a science person AT ALL.

I only took her bio. 1409 class because there were not any other teachers teaching it this semester, and I have a feeling I will be taking it again. she is a nice lady, but her test are long and hard, there are quizes daily, and the lab she just hands you for you to figure it out. she will help you if you hve questions.

GREAT PROFESSOR! Take her if you can! If you do your work, come to class and take good notes you'll pass with NO problem! There are quizzes weekly (which is a pain) but if you study your notes, you wont have a problem. Its a 4-credit class, she makes it as interesting as possible and the 3 hours class goes by in no time!

I got really sick during the school year & bc I was a good student she helped me pass the class. I got a's on reg basis but then I missed tests bc I was in the hospital. She even emailed me. This class was easy. Shes real helpful and knows what she is talking about. You dont need the book. Just look over the powerpoints she gives very carefully. She gives alot of quizzes but she drops your lowest 2. Easy A.

Hard class but very fun teacher! Great personality and makes things really interesting. Don't miss any days if you can help it and always study for quizzes and exams. Professor Dr. Barbee is a GREAT Instructor! I never really cared for Science therefore dreaded this class at first but after she started teaching...it was so easy for me to learn. She doesn't give you anything, she helps you learn as you go. She is most definitely in tuned with her class. AWESOME LADY! You have to take her.

.I was terrified to take this class. This Professor not only makes learning the concept easy she breaks it down to the point that you feel Like you have mastered it . ALl you have to do is come to class and she will give you the information in a way you wll retain it forever.She is making me re think my major from Psych to Biology.I love her!!!

this is a great teacher. the class was very fair . easy if you actually pay attention and take notes. everything is practically given to you but you have to study . makes class interesting and fun. great personality and cant wait to take her class for 1409

GREAT PROFFESOR!!! I took her for 6wk summer class, ALOT of material but if you study her powerpoints,quizzes, attend class, and pay attention you'll be fine. I got an A for the 1st time in science. 10quizes drops 2,22 labs drops 2, 4 test+1 final replaces lowest test grade with final. Interesting, fun, really learned and enjoyed her class.TAKE HER

Ms. Barbee rocks! I took her BIOL 1408 class and that's why I decided to take her 1409 class. She uses powerpoint for lectures so you don't need the book but you do need the lab manual. She makes biology interesting and easier to understand. I definitely recommend you take her class!

As long as you study you should get an A, flash cards is a great way to study for her class. No book, just lab manual(:

She is an amazing Professor! TAKE HER! I suck at science but I managed to get an A!:P She just goes over power points basically & the lab manual is a must! If you can't keep up with her just print out the slides before lecture! I worked hard but I learned. One of the best professors I have had! TAKE HER FOR 1408 & 1409 SHE IS SO DOWN TO EARTH!

Very down to earth. She goes over the power point slides, which are posted online and you can print out prior to class. Quizzes are easy and her tests are not too difficult if you study. Lab manual is required but the text book is not. She helps you when you have any questions and answers any questions before any quiz or exam. I recommend her 100%!

She is very nice and helpful. She has about 11 quizzes the whole semester and four test. Her test and quizzes are exactly like her power points. Although you do have to study a lot to earn your grade. She is very picky in stuff but great to take.

Took class in Summer. Great professor. No textbook reading just power point slides and lecture notes. We had Quizzes, Tests and Lab assignments. I was surprised at how interesting and laid back the class is. Study all your notes and power points to ace course. She gives partial credit on exam & drops 2 lowest quiz grades & 2 lab assignment grades.

Mrs. Barbee was a very upbeat teacher and always made the class laugh and always looked forward to this class because of that. The exams are super easy because all the powerpoints are on D2L and the exams are basically word for word off of these!

She is nice, funny, and helpful. Her lectures take the important things from the textbook (don't buy it, by the way) and break them down to an easier level. Overall her class is super easy to pass, you just have to show up every day unfortunately. Flashcards, flashcards, flashcards! Easiest way to study for her quizzestests.

Kara Barbee is one of those teachers who can effortlessly give the knowledge to her students. She has power points that have everything that you'll ever need. With my class, all I needed to do was study a little bit a day. Her lectures are interesting, except with the topics you will naturally not like, but she does her best! I recommend her...

Took the summer semester 4 Unit exams 23 labs drops 2; 10 quizzes drops 2 and the final. No book required only lab book; gives only the info required; it's a fast paced class; studying required; lecture style is awesome she gives anecdotes that will help you remember the material. GO TO LECTURES! I'm currently trying to take her for 1409.

Great professor, her tests come straight from lectures and so does her quizzes. i took her for 1408 & 1409 and have no complaints, all you have to do is review over your notes from lectures before each test and quiz and you will do just fine!

Best teacher ever! You will be taking tons of notes but you will appreciate her power points! Test come straight from the power points so if you study your notes you will pass your test and quizzes. She gives the best lectures, and is willing to help her students. I highly recommend her! Now if you skip class and don't study you will fail!

Barbee is one of the best professors I have had. She is very understanding and wants you to pass, but is not a pushover. I really enjoyed this class. There is no homework expect for studying and you will need to study. Everything you need to know for the tests are on her power point. She has in class quizzes, but she tells you what to study.

Dr. Barbee is amazingly good at her job and she seems to enjoy it. Her explanations are clear and simplified for non-majors and she is open to questions. She has a good sense of humor and tries to minimize the boredom factor in her lectures.

Honestly if I would of known she teaches 1408 I would of taken her for that class also. She is amazing! Her lectures are very interesting and her exams are based from the notes you take so make sure you write the important things. I'm usually not good with science in general, but with professor Barbee she made the class seem really easy.

Flash cards are a tremendous help. She read all lab reports carefully so don't rush through them. Work hard and you will earn a good grade. She is not a push over.

Prof. Barbee is a really great professor. All her powerpoints have exactly what you need to know for the quizzes and exams, and its simple like this word means this, not having paragraphs of unnecessary info. I would rate her a difficulty of 4 because you really do need to study, but it really is just memorizing definitions and descriptions.

She's one of the best biology professors out there. Super hilarious and inspirational. The class was tough and you had to work for it, since it is for science major. She does care about you. I do not regret taking her, wish she would teach biol 1407, but sadly she doesn't.

Professor Barbee is a great teacher, she clearly outlines the criteria from the very beginning. We didn't need a text because she provided all the material via power points, there were about 10 quizzes, 4 exams, 18 labs and final. It was an easy class all you have to do is pay attention and remember the material.

I loved taking her class! She makes Biology very simple for you to understand. She'll tell you directly what to focus on for upcoming quizzes and exams. I would advise to take notes, study her PPTs and form a study group to do well for her class.

super chill tells you what's going to be tested. super helpful and her lectures are never boring. her class is normally wiped out fast so apply early.

This class was pretty difficult, but Professor Barbee was amazing! She gives great lectures and is quite funny. You will have about a lot of labs, quizzes, and at homework through masteringlab. She's a tough grader and does not do extra credit, but as long as you really really study and do all your work you should be set. I got an A in the class!
