This class was so much fun. He's a crazy guy who loves teaching maybe a little too much... he seriously sent us an e-mail saying that, while making up our exam, he was going to "laugh with professorly glee". If you go to class most of the time, read the book, and look over all of the vocab and his notes before the test, you can get a pretty grade.

what a moron, and what a pointless class
book goes into technical details, lectures cover slides. but the exam is tricky he makes up scenerios. one of those "is the dog brown or light brown" questions. yeah. confusing!
He is a fairly young, very upbeat teacher who makes the class laugh every day. His powerpoint slides are very helpful and because he obviously truly enjoys the topic, he makes the class fun for everyone else. The tests are multiple choice and are definitely not hard. I haven't read the book, don't attend every class and I have gotten all A's.
His lectures are very intersting and he is easy on the eyes. He is passionate about the subject and it is contagious. his tests are easy!
I loved the class. It was very interesting and he is a funny man. He made the class laugh almost every lecture. The tests are fairly easy if you pay attention. I developed a slight crush- He is intellectually stimulating and pretty good looking.
good man
Nice guy, will listen if you talk to him
I definitely had a "mind crush" on him- he's attractive and a great lecturer. The class was really interesting and I rarely missed it (even though I had it at 8:40).

Awesome Teacher. Makes things very interesting and clear. Does incorporate racism a lot but in very interesting ways and one can't blame him, it is what he studies. Tests can be hard if you do not study. Papers start out being tough but it helped me learn how to write a good psych paper
Good teacher. Makes you think and makes you work, but it's not overkill. Very interesting class. Attendance wasn't mandatory, but I wanted to go. Take him he will teach you something. Also put the book online so you don't have to buy it. Smart guy.
I like the way he teaches. he can go a little too quickly at times, but the slides are online so that makes up for it. Really funny, at least to me. yay!
He's okay. I thought the class was going to be easier, but it wasn't. He is a good teacher, but his tests are tricky. I thought I got an A on the first test and ended up with a C, and I really studied. I also thought the tests were common sense, but they arent. Very interesting at first, boring after. but he is thorough in teaching
He is one of the best teachers I've ever had! His powerpoints were always interesting, in a good order, and used examples that made everything easy to understand. This was one of the few psych classes where I wasn't confused how all the info fit together. His tests aren't hard at all if you study.
awful...
Temple is lucky to have such an intelligent professor. Took him in the spring and would love to take him again, hes very funny and knows how to incorporate real world examples in his class. If you have the opportunity to take him definitely do it!
LOVE HIM--his slides are so clear that you don't need the book (and he's such a nice guy he even told me I didn't need to spend the $$). He's very interesting when he goes over them, too
One of my favorite professors. He finds a way to incorporate real world events into his lectures; he's funny and makes class very interesting. His tests are a bit tricky, but if you study, they won't be too hard. I would highly recommend taking social psych and social cognition (if he still teaches both). Great instructor!
Great sense of humor. Kept class atmosphere lite.
AMAZING professor, most interesting course I have ever taken in college!! Very intelligent too...I looked forward to attending his class everyday, seriously.
He's a great prof. Really nice, really interesting, really intelligent, and really funny too. Says you don't have to attend class if you don't want to, but with the way he teaches most people end up wanting to come.
One of my favorites. I still remember his class with fondness and I have been out of school for a while.
Over all he's cool, had a few papers and he's a little picky on grading but I would take him again
One of my favorite professors ever!
Took him for cognitive psych, but he says he's more into social psych. Not a bad teacher, but a lot of the information comes from the text book. It's tough to pull up your grad when he only gives 4 exams. He tries to make the class as engaging as possible with demonstrations.
He's a cool guy... really funny stories. he makes the material interesting!
This professor is absolutely hilarious. He is extremely relatable and seems like a student himself but actually knows what he is talking about. He always has his great stories to tell and relates to what we are discussing in class. I took him for Social Psychology and would gladly take him again. A must to take for a good Temple Experience.
I had 4 prof for this class, but I wish he could have taught the entire course. He's super funny and always shares his personal experiences that relate to the class. Hopefully, I can take him again in the future.
Dr. Johnson is a great lecturer and funny guy in class however he is not very friendly if you ever meet with him outside of class...4 exams and a final which he made quite difficult.
This Prof is very cool and funny guy. I absolutely LOVED going to his class. He would make me laugh every time! However, he is a bit challenging and is very strict with due dates. He also is a little pompous (but he prob has reason to be). He tells great stories. Take this class cause its fun and enjoyable!
Dr. Johnson has to be one of the best professors at Temple. He made the class fun and interesting but I still learned a great deal of information. Take him
Careers in Psychology with his is a breeze. online quizzes are very simple and open note. You learn a lot of useful information in this class and it is relatively interesting. probably the easiest class i've ever taken
I took Dr.Johnson for Careers in Psych. He talks about himself a lot, but I didn't mind because we only had to write a Resume, a 2 pg paper and took 5 open note 5 question quizzes. We did not use any of the textbooks he recommends because he posts all the lectures on blackboard .
What a great professor! His lectures are interesting and hes a funny guy. Four multiple choice exams and a cumulative final. I enjoyed the class!
He's great! Funny guy, tells a lot of stories and keeps it interesting.
He is great. I think my favorite professor at Temple. This is my third time having him as a professor. He makes everything easy to understand. No textbook! Clear slides that are always posted and not a lot of assignments. Such a nice guy!
Dr. Johnson's class was great. No reading required, the multiple choice exams were straight forward and based on the lectures. His lectures were well organized and clearly communicated, and interesting. He was professional but laid back. I got 100s on most of the exams just because I paid attention in class and then studied my notes before the test
Dr. Johnson was a great teacher. Class was super easy. Exams were based on the lectures so as long as you study the power points you should have no problem doing well in the course.
I had Dr. Johnson for Careers in Psych, which isn't the easiest class to get through because of the material. It's not a hard class at all, but it isn't the most exciting topic. Dr. Johnson holds your attention through it and actually made it a pleasant experience. I'd take another class with him!
Took for him for Careers in Psych and that class was a breeze. He's very clear but the things he discussed and he seems pretty funny. I believe he made the class more interesting than it was. I would take him again.
Dr. Johnson was one of the best professors I've had at Temple! He makes a lot of corny jokes but if you can get past that, he's very clear and he isn't a tough grader. I had him freshman year and took him again last year for Careers in Psych. Everything is based on the slides. If you memorize them, you'll do great!
He was really cool, nice voice to listen to, he was funny. The day he really got me on board was when he quoted Ratatouille. Also like videos and pictures, he made it fun, like it should be, it's psych. He seemed like a really solid guy. And I got my best grade yet on his test, wasn't too bad at all. He was one of the best I've met. Very lit.
For a Gen-ed, this class is NOT an easy-A. It's made up of four 50 question MC exams and an optional cumulative longer final that could replace your lowest score. That's it. However, he's a great guy who is very quirky and would always make the class laugh. He shows a lot of videos, which helps becuase the class is only lectures and exams.
Evolution psych capstone. Loved Dr. Johnson. Tough grader but really smart guy who just knows everything about everything. Funny, easy-going, brought pizza for last class. Graded on weekly online quizzes, 8 page paper, 5-min presentation, and two online essay question exams. Easy capstones. Looked forward to class. I learned a lot.
All of his lectures were really enjoyable and I actually felt disappointed when I couldn't make it to class. He's a very nice guy and tells a lot of jokes that are actually funny. He gives you a lot of opportunity to do well, he only counts your best 4 of 5 exams and best 10 of 14 quizzes. I'm sad this class is over, his lectures were great.
Full of himself, makes corny jokes. Class was easy. That's about it
He's a great professor and super entertaining and funny! His Careers in Psych class was extremely easy you literally just need to listen in class, take the online quizzes and do your assignments such as a resume and focus 2 report, I highly recommend him as a professor, I got an A
best professor ever! take all quizzes (5 questions - read slides and attend lecture to pass them) gives amazing lectures, incredibly smart and caring! you won't regret taking him.
Kareem is the man! His lectures are clear and engaging. He's pretty funny, though sometimes his ego shines through. For the PSE development course, there were 3 exams (40 MC & 1 essay question), a research paper, and an optional cumulative final. Multiple choice Qs were a little tricky w/ no book. He curved our grades the day before the final.
Dr. Johnson was a true gem. I had him for my capstone- evolutionary psychology. You are graded by 10 online quizzes, a research paper, a take home midterm, a take home final, and a presentation. He is SO smart and such a nice guy. You don't have to take notes during his lectures because he posts the full slides online. Learned a lot in his class!
Dr. Johnson is one of the coolest professors I've ever had. His lectures are engaging and at times almost feels like the class is having a mature discussion. He has a lot of wisdom to add to each lecture outside of the slide shows, it feels almost a shame to miss class. His tests aren't easy, but you have all the tools to succeed. Great guy & prof
Dr. Johnson truly cares about the material he is teaching. He makes his lectures super interesting, and even though he does not require attendance, you want to go to class. My only complaint is he is not the most approachable outside of class, but as long as you put in just a little bit of effort you won't need to.
One of my favorites of the year. He was great, attendance wasn't mandatory but I wanted to come to class. Exams are multiple choice, not too difficult if you come to class and study (lectures posted online). Definitely would recommend him, such a fun and interesting class because of him
Amazing professor, I loved his class and I feel privileged to be able to take him. I think his exams were extremely fair, if you attend class and study you should be fine.
Professor Johnson really knows his stuff. Took him for my capstone class. Attendance is not mandatory, but he calculates a margin of error at the end of the semester to help your grade if you are close. His lectures are interesting. I walked out learning something new after every lecture. Weekly online quizzes. Midterm and final are online too.
Amazing professors. Loves what he does and does his job well. Very entertaining lectures to go to.. Just show up to lectures, pay attention, and you should be fine for the few exams you have. Optional exam and paper can be done to boost your grade if needed.
Dr. Johnson adds life to the class. He makes the topics he discusses very interesting and is very accessible for help. 11/10 would recommend.
Dr. Johnson was a nice professor! Class has an easy structure, and attendance isn't really mandatory, especially as the semester goes one. He posts power points on Canvas from every class, and posts what's going to be on the tests. I only showed up on test days and did fine. Fun lectures if you're interested in the topic
Missed about 2.5 weeks of classes bc he had personal stuff going on (which I obvi understand) but didn't find a sub so we had to cram like crazy and it was NOT a good time. Didn't explain assignments or grades well. Very disorganized. I empathize with the guy, but the course was a mess even before his personal stuff started. Don't recommend
for a gen ed i feel like 4 exams is a lil too much but they aren't cumulative (except for the extra credit final) he's a chill guy, very funny, can carry on the conversation if ppl are too quiet, the topic is interesting enough, but i just wish there was a lil less work for a gen ed. it eez what it eez
very good at carrying conversation, some work but not too bad, interesting material.
Hilarious lectures, but super informative and interesting as well. Classes are mostly open discussions and the majority of the work is done on your own, but it's not much. Easy grader too.
The work was very straightforward and had clear directions. The content of the class was amazing i highly recommend.
on the first day of class he literally told everyone that they should get an A for the semester. About 7 assignments for the entire semester 5 of them being quizzes. Each quiz is about 5 questions and open note. Very resourceful professor and relatable.
Makes the lectures very interesting and engaging when teaching, fun. Its interesting topics each week, make sure you do discussion boards, score well on quizzes, and study for exams!!!
It's been a long time since I was genuinely sad to be finished with a course. Professor Johnson is so passionate about the material that I genuinely learned everything and didn't find it difficult to stay attentive. Exams have essays, but it made me want to work harder to learn. Weekly quizzes help you know where you need to improve and it pays off
Dr. Johnson is a good lecturer and I have a lot of respect for him, although the class I took, Honors workings of the mind, is literally only a Gen Ed. The lectures are interesting, the quizzes easy, but the all the essay exams were difficultly/harshly graded and its weight was too heavy in comparison to other stuff. It's a Gen Ed, not Psych 1001.
Dr. Johnson is a solid professor who gives really engaging and fun lectures. The class is both interesting and pretty easy. The only problem I have is that the exams can be kind of difficult since they are entirely short answer based. That being said, it was still an enjoyable class and Dr. Johnson's personality really added a lot.
Great professor, one of the most interesting classes I've taken at temple. Work is do-able, exam format is the same every time. Study the notes and you'll be fine.
I absolutely loved this professor. I would take each of my psych classes with him if possible. He even provides the "textbook" you need online. Super straightforward and honestly really fun. I'd give him a 100/10 if possible.
Dr. Johnson is one of the funniest professor I've ever had. He is super interested in the material he teaches and just wants his students to succeed. His exams are mainly essay based, but they're not too hard.
Easy class if you pay attention and study the lecture slides. Lenient on grading and attendance. Passionate about subject
It's been a few years since I graduated but wanted to come back here and say to take Professor Johnson's Evolutionary Psychology capstone. The material is very interesting and Professor Johnson has amazing lectures. He's down to earth, passionate, and hilarious. Myself and my class really enjoyed ourselves
He is a great lecturer and professor however his exams are written and he is a hard grader. I expected his honors workings of the mind class to be easier than a psych 1001 course. It def hurt my gpa and I struggled in this course. I wouldn't take it again but I wish I could say otherwise.
Dr. Johnson was a great professor to have for Honors Workings of the Mind. He is really knowledgeable about topics in psychology, and the course was almost like a more in-depth (and more interesting) intro psych course. His lectures were great, and while his exams were all in essay-style format, it was pretty easy to do well in the class.
Very strong conversational prof. Lectures are entertaining and interesting and clearly show the passion he has for the subject. Most grades came from the 4 exams over the course of the semester but the content was heavily based on his lectures. As long as you showed up and took notes and just paid attention, you will pass. Highly recommended!
I really enjoyed stress and the brain, Dr. Johnson is excellent. As a psych major I would recommend taking at least one NSCI class before enrolling to better understand the course content.
His course was pretty simple; attend the lectures to learn how to do the assignments and submit them within the time window. He declared that everyone should earn an A in his class (I did not due to lack of submitting assignments), but the workload entails why he makes his statement. He's an interesting professor, and I'd like to have him again.
Really happy I took Dr. J for 4696. Seemed like it was by far the most interesting subject matter compared to other Capstones, and he did not disappoint. Awesome lecturer, funny, caring, and passionate about what he does by the way he presents things. He's flexible in what you chose your research topic too. I would highly recommend Dr. Johnson.
This class was very informative(and not in a boring way). I learned so much from Professor Johnson. He taught me skills about college, career stuff, and life. There are very few assignments, and he gives you plenty of time to do the ones he assigns. I would say if you're going to take Careers in Psych, definitely take his class.
Has a good technique to teach.
Good at his job
He was probably my favorite psych professor by far! He is very personable, relateable, and just a funny guy! He made me want to come to the lectures and made the information easy to understand! His notes made the exam very veryy easy to do! I didnt even study and got an 80% just off his notes alone!
Super nice and funny. Classes are ppt presentations and talking about readings (2-3 per unit, super manageable).Quick Canvas quiz for each topic you take at home. If you took AP Psych it's literally that for the first two units and everything else will seem familiar. Handful of exams which are multiple handwritten open-ended prompts.
Dr. Kareem was an amazing professor for the time I had him. He was very engaging and super easy to learn from. Though his pace through the lecture slides were quick, it was very easy to understand and retain information. Exam was straightforward. Would definitely recommend Dr. Kareem.
He was one of the best professors for intro to psych. He explained things in a interesting and relatable way and didn't drag things on. It was so much easier to understand everything and he was funny.
great professor, really funny.
Slides and exam study guides are always available on Canvas. Ready for essay exam and assigned readings. Easy grades.
Great professor and an easy class. He gets straight to the point and brings good energy to all of his lectures. This was a one-credit course, but I would definitely consider taking him for higher level courses too.
he is a really good teacher, i learned alot and keeps you engaged with the material. Ive never had homework from him but he mostly only grades quizzes, they are not open note but its 25 questions multiple choice with extra questions for extra credit and short paragraph essay
