If you're looking for a professor who can teach and is entertaining, then she is the one for you. Make sure you attend her lectures, as they cover the textbook you will be needing. The textbook usage is high only for midterms, finals, and extra credit assignments. It's an easy class as long as you work hard.

she has a very good sense of humor and shes very clear with what she wants...forget what people say about her she gives a lot of chances to get an A...if you dont attend her lectures then youre screwed and youre gunna have to read the chapters...she posts up the midterm questions and final online so dont complain

Prof.Williams gives good entertaining lectures. Study the textbook along side your class and you should be good.

She makes too many uneccessary remarks. She thinks she is so funny but it gets kind of annoying. In total of 4 papers, which is too many. Overall, she's just a very corny professor who thinks herself too highly

She is ok but gives way too much work for a level 100 class...there are other professors out there who only require three essays for the class and no midterm or final...she assigns four papers, a midterm and a final. Not worth it if you have additional upper level math and physics course you need to worry about.

Very lively prof. 3 papers and if u get A's (which is very possible) on all of them you are exempt from the research paper. You are given possible essay questions to review and then the exam consists of choosing two and responding. Go to class, do the papers, review your notes for the exams and you're good.

She is a strict professor, but a good one. she knows the material well. In her lectures, she notes what she will talk about at the beginning of class, so when we mentions those things in the lecture TAKE NOTES. they will be helpful for the midterm and final. there are 3 short papers and two exams. study the notes and you'll pass with an A like me.

Prof.Kareen is an amazing teacher. You will always be interested but she expects a lot of her students. Its not hard to get a good grade though, just put in a bit of effort

Kareen is a really good teacher and gets you interested in the material. She is a tough grader. I'm a good essay writer and we had three essays and I could not get above a B+. Nonetheless I was able to get relatively okay grades without using the textbooks just relying on notes. Shes not a GPA killer but she does require some effort.

Great Professor!She is very passionate about the subjectand material. Unlike, most history teachers she will make sure that learning the material is interesting and not boring. She does not give many homework assignments but can be a harsh grader when it comes to midterms, research papers and final exams.

She is very smart and knowledgeable about the subject which makes the course interesting and easier, but she has an attitude and most of the time is very rude and disrespectful to students and also has preferences so if she does not like you from the beginning don't expect a good grade at the end. She gives too much work for a 100 level course!

She is an awesome professor. She makes you laugh the whole class time. I totally recommend you take her. She is a really hard test grader. She also speaks fast and the class requires a lot of notes. She barely gives homework. He class consists of attendance, class participation, a midterm, final, and a research paper. Shes awesome.

She's a good teacher but, her grading is horrendous! And by that, I mean horrendous for YOU! Her exams first of all are ridiculously loaded. You have 100 IDs to study, and only 10 will be on the test. There's no indication of which 10 so you have to know all 100 OF THE TERMS. The spot you sit during class depends on which test you get.

There is only a midterm, research paper, and final for this class. But they are straight forward if you read. For her midterm and her final, study her review sheets two days before. Also her essay questions are in the review sheet and you could make your outline before the actual exam. She's a funny teacher but she is really strict at times.

She is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She explains the course material in a way that will make you fall in love with history. She is also very funny. She gives a lot of ID's to study for the exams. DO NOT MISS OR COME LATE TO HER CLASS IF YOU WANT TO PASS.

Amazing professor. Funny and enjoys what she teaches. She gives no homework but you need to take notes because her midterm and final(only 2 tests) rely solely on memorizing your notes. She gives you 10 essay questions to study that can be on the tests, picks 4 random ones to put on the test and you only need to pick 1. Just memorize and you'll pass

She is a great professor! Does not sugarcoat the history and adds humor to the lecture. Very nice, helpful, and wishing to pass everyone. He lectures do require you to pay attention and take good notes. Those notes will help you in the midterm and final. She gives you what will be on the two tests so just memorize that. Not much work.

Great professor. Makes history very interesting. Take the class, you won't regret it. I took it in the winter session so it's different than the spring and fall semester but she knows her stuff and gets you really thinking about history. Final was good if you study.

Kinda crazy, but not necessarily in a bad way. Gives you a generous chance to get your grade back up if you mess up on the midterm (but not fail). Good at telling history. You might need to skim through the text book every now and then, but if you listen to her lectures you should be good. Recommend.

AMAZINGGGG PROFESSOR, she made history so much fun. She is hilarious, and tells you the truth about history. She gives 2 tests, midterm and final, a research paper, and extra credit. Take her you won't regret it. Makes an effort to learning your name and knowing who you are. If you put effort in her class you will receive an A.

Professor Williams is one of my absolute favorite instructors that I have ever had. One of the very few to make me interested in history and made me bust out laughing every class. There is a midterm, final, and research paper but as long as you study you should be fine. Will not regret having her!!!

Professor Kareen William is so caring and she made history manageable and easy to learn in her own fun way. This class shouldnt be a problem if you dont make it a problem. only two tests and one research paper so dont slack off.

Her class is hard, she's a tough grader and attendance is mandatory but she is also engaging and makes you think about the material in new ways. If you show up, participate and do your work you will easily pass. She has study guides for the tests and will let you know exactly whats on it. She is a harsh grader for an intro class but she is amazing!

Amazing lectures but too difficult for a 10100 level course. graded off of two exams and a research paper. the exams consist of 15 ID's and an essay question. She is genuine and cares about the material.

If youre looking for a chill class take Professor Williams. Shes funny and wont tell you the white washed version of American history. She never assigns homework except for maybe two times. Theres two test and a research paper which are on blackboard from day 1. If you come to class everyday and take notes youll be fine.

I am a history lover and she made history even better! She tells you to buy a book but you dont actually need it. Your final grade is based on your midterm, research paper and final. She does give extra credit if you need it. Honestly she is one of the best professors in City College.

Shes amazing!! Lots of terms to remember but just focus on the lecture and take good notes. Never be afraid to ask her question. Her extra credit is scattered throughout the semester so be aware. One of the best professors at CCNY.

Lecture heavy, but if you pay attention and jot down some notes then you should be fine because those notes will be important to your midterm and final essays. If you did bad in one part of the essay, she'll give out extra credit for those that need it. Also use textbook by Alan brinkley, very good of keeping track of lectures and for essays.

One of my fav professors! We were given 2 essays, a midterm, & a final. Essays easy, midterm & final easy if you study. She provides a study guide, making things easier. She gives extra credit. She's a great lecturer & makes the lessons interesting. Don't take this class if you won't put in the effort; you'll pass if you actually put in the work!!

This class is like social studies in high school. A good amount of reading and work included. Her lectures are pretty interesting to me so it doesnt get very boring. Also take detailed notes during her lectures. 2 reflection essays (like 2 pages minimum), a midterm, and a final. She does give extra credit so take advantage of it. Put in the effort

Extra Credit, shes funny as hell just strict and means business. All the bad reviews are lies, its not hard to get on her good side just show up and actually listen to what shes saying! Good semester just dont miss any work, which theres very little of anyway.

Her class was not too hard she tried to explain everything to her best ability, but she was very test-heavy. She will fail you if you're too vague on her papers. The more you write the better. If you miss one of her tests you are most definitely not passing the make-up. Her extra credit is a little restricting. GO OVER HER STUDY SHEETS.

Great Professor, she gives you 2 essays, 1 midterm and 1 final. There is a lot of note taking, like A LOT, but pays off when your studying. She is somewhat strict but as long as you do your work then you will be on her good side. She can be pretty funny sometimes, and can make the lecture seem fun.

She was very strict about what to do in her class and what not to do. But her lectures were pretty interesting. She presents her content in a fun way and doesn't sugarcoat anything.

She is a little annoying when it comes to participation. She shames the class for not speaking and then expects us to speak which doesn't help her goal. On the other hand, her lectures are very engaging and makes me interested in the material that she talks about. Not enough to participate but enough to do well on tests and essays. She's cool.

This is not the class to take if you want an easy A. There are only four main assignments (mostly writing), and participation/attendance matter 100%. Other than that, so long as you are a good note taker and study before tests, you should be fine. She was honestly funny to me, making lectures engaging. No regrets taking her class

professor kareen williams takes a subject that would otherwise be very boring and makes it interesting, visceral, and funny. she is a tough grader for writing assignments, and her tests are writing-heavy, so you will need to put a lot of work in when it comes to studying. she lets you use free/online versions of the textbook

Don't let the rating fool you. Dr. Williams is amazing. Her no-nonsense attitude probably earned her all those 1 star ratings but it earned my respect. She's very simple, just strict on two things: Be on time (btw, you either show up or fail), and pay attention to the lectures. if she says "no exceptions" she means it. SUPER funny also!

She's a very entertaining professor. Her lectures were something I could actually look forward to and I genuinely paid attention to her. There were 2 essays, a midterm, and a final. She gives very clear instructions as to how to go about them so as long as you stick to what she asks, she'll give a good grade. Attendance and timeliness does matter.

I believe the people giving her a bad rating are harsh , she is a really good professor and doesn't tolerate bs like the other ones , she is very funny and I believe she makes it very simple . Although grading can be questionable she's a good professor and I enjoyed her class
