good teacher, all her test are based pretty much on her class lectures, so don't read the book, just get to class. Tests are one big essay, just write erverything you know, and papers, are easy. good grader, nice lady, normal history class.

she is a good teacher. You will take a lot of notes. Weird lady overall.

Awesome teacher. Actually look forward to going to class. Lectures the whole time, but is engaging and fun. REALLY knows the stuff she teaches inside and out! States her politcal beliefs but never lets them get into her lecture (I disagree with her politically). If you like history, or if you don't hate it, you'll love this teacher.

study hard before the test and you will get an A. dont have to read at all. not hard unless you are a dumbass and dont study.

I learned alot in the class because she covers alot of material. Her tests are kind of difficult, but they force you to work very hard for the grade. She is a hard grader but is ALWAYS willing to help (she even put her cell # on the syllabus). She is a very fair and sweet lady.

Very good teacher. A rare breed. She lectures a lot, but she is a very entertaining and easy to listen to lecturer. She is really knowledgeable and provides lots of info - you will definitely learn a lot in her class. Make sure to read/study before tests. They can be tough if you don't - but she is very fair in terms of grading.

She is very nice and a good lecturer. Very fair grader on the book essays but for the the midterm and final..STUDY HARD! it's a good amount of work but if you study what she tells you, you will be fine

I had her for an 8 am class and she still was able to keep me awake.She explains things very well and is really enthusiastic about what she is teaching. Not the easiest class you will ever take but she is fair and always willing to help explain anything you don't understand.

She is really excited to teach, which makes the material more interesting. She is always willing to help and wants her students to succeed. For all the tests there are study guides online and she gives you choices of the questions that are on her essay tests ahead of time. She is one of the best teachers i have had here

Such a great prof. She is goofy, which makes the class fun and interesting when she making fun of historical mistakes. She is extremely helpful. You will end up learning a ton in her class. Challenging but extremely fair.

I LOVE DR.BARTLEY!! I hate history but her class was really great. She is an awesome teacher- you won't fall asleep in this class. All essay tests but they are EASY if you show up to class and pay attention. She tells you exactly what she wants on the tests and she gives you her cell phone number to reach her anytime. TAKE HER IF YOU CAN!

She's excited about the material, and you will actually learn something from this class. Answer the essay questions in the study guide beforehand, and go in and ask her about your response, and you will ace the test no problem. Can be tough if you have no prior knowledge of history though! If you want to slack off, take another class!

Not a class for slackers. She will read past any bs you give her but she is always willing to help. Its a lot of material but she moves fast so she'll keep you wide awake at 8am. I loved her and would recommend her to anyone who is willing to put in the effort.

Bartley is a good teacher. However she grades very difficult on the essay/book tests. If your looking to get an A or B+. Do not take.

Bartley knows her stuff and is very passionate about helping you understand the material. But, she is a very specific grader yet never exactly outlines what she wants. Homework due every Friday, 2 midterms and a final. Homework may seem like something you can blow off but it is very difficult to get 100% on them. A nice lady though.

There is a lottttt of writing in her class and its almost impossible to get full credit on anything, but she is a good teacher and you get to use a notecard on the exams

She is one of the best teachers I have ever met

Classes are pretty boring to go to but you really need to because you'll be surprised how much it will help you out on the tests. Quizzes or little mini-posts due about once a week so you'll need to read the text book. There are 3 books to be read throughout the semester with a paper on all of them at the end.

I love this woman. She may be a little crazy and be a hard grader, but she's the NICEST woman in the world. You can call her any day and she will help you SO much: she LOVES when people call her, so do it. Weekly writing assignments are hard and suck big time, but if you go to class, take the quizzes & prep for tests, you'll do well.

Bartley is one of the best teachers I have ever had. She is so enthusiastic that I took an interest in the class even though I hate history. Homework was super easy and you barely have to read the book. She presents the material in a very clear way and her tests are pretty simple. Also, she wears the most ridiculous clothes which makes class fun.

Great teacher but TOUGH. You really have to think about the material and how it all connects to do well on her tests. Attendance is not mandatory but I definitely wouldn't recommend skipping. Very interesting and helpful class but I wouldn't suggest taking it if you're looking for an easy A.

Bartley is an amazing professor. Her class is hard and alot of effort is required, but her passion and help outside of class is amazing.

Definitely one of the hardest classes I've taken at UD. The amount of work she expects you to put into her class makes it seem like she is under the impression that her course is the only one you have. Essay's are assigned at least once a week, as well as, quizzes and a LOT of reading. Don't expect to just pay attention in class, you have to read!

She is a hard grader and expects you to write a lot of essays, extended response, and short answer. If you want multiple-choice exams, forget about it, you will be writing 2 or more essays for the exam, not to mention many out of class essays on assigned books. However, she is definitely not a boring lecturer, and will hold your interest.

Bartley is a professor who will stand in front of the class and talk for 50 minutes while you sit there and think of everything but history. Every week you have an online quiz, and document questions. Only 3 tests throughout the year which aren't bad. This class is the definition of a buzzkill, unless you have a serious passion for history.

Dr. Bartley is a tough grader on papers, but if you know how to write in an organized way with support from her LECTURES, you will get an A. I always took notes on the stories she told us in class, they always showed up on the essays later. Go to her office hours, she's extremely helpful. DEFINITELY would take again, one of my favorite professors.

Prof. Bartley is a tough grader and expects a lot out of you, but we're in college so that should be expected. Lots of reading and a paper almost every class but she makes it interesting at least. If you go to office hours sometimes she'll add a point to your grade if you clarify your paper a little more. She is very nice. Class participation keeps things moving.

You get about one paper per week, and a chapter of the textbook with an online reading quiz every 2 weeks. This class was a lot of work but I learned a lot from it. I spent about 3 hours a week on this class. Go to office hours, and be attentive in class to do well! She explains history very well, it almost feels like story-time going to her class.

There are a lot of papers and Professor Bartley is a tough grader. She is super sweet, but papers are mainly what the class is based off of, so if you do poorly on those your grade will suffer.

Dr. Bartley is very passionate about history. She is quirky and upbeat. Her class is lecture heavy and she encourages you to use your textbook since the tests are all written. She is a tough grader, but going to her office hours helped me greatly, and she is always willing to make time to meet with you.

Dr. Bartley assigns many essays and papers, and she is quite tough on critiquing grammatical structure of essays, although she won't take off many points for incorrect grammar. This class will require you to stay on top of reading the chapter each week so that you can take a weekly online quiz. She gives you the questions to the quiz before hand.
