i had her for lab, let me just say after my horrible lecture teacher, ms. braley helped put it all together. she is soooo nice and so helpful with any questions. def take her.

I also had Karen for lab and she was great. She's really nice and genuinely wants to help the students understand. She even helped us balance equations bc we didn't understand our lecture professor!

Karen is great! Extremely helpful, friendly, and down to earth. She makes microbiology less intimidating. I would definitely recommend her, in fact, I'm taking her again next semester for chemistry lab.

Karen is awesome. I got a B+ because of her. Dr Nayar is so useless! Karen was great in lab I only wished she had taught the class instead of Nayar. She is clear and makes the material interesting. No surprises unlike Nayar. If Karen had taught the class I would have had a high A. I had a 98 average in her lab and a C average in Nayar's. Great!

Awesome lady. Makes herself available to the students, and actually replies to emails with more than one or two words. She turns a fairly difficult subject into something understandable. She also gives fabulous reviews! Funny, smart and a great teacher.

This teacher was super excited about interacting with students and helping out each student in order for them to understand clearly. The material was very difficult to understand since it is a beginners intro into micro but she found creative ways to help. HIGHLY RATE HER AND WOULD TAKE ANY CLASS THAT SHE IS INSTRUCTING IN FUTURE

I love Karen! She is my favorite teacher that I've had in college so far. She made micro so much easier to understand than the other micro teachers, she does test reviews that really help. I was NEVER a science person (I just never did well) and it was her that turned that around for me. The most interesting science teacher I have ever had. Actually does skits to explain the movement of bacteria. Concentrates on the medical side of Micro..ignores the plant crap. All you have to do is go to class and listen she gives you the guidelines to study. An amazing teacher and alot of fun. All you have to do is study the notes she gives you and you'll pass with a great grade. I wish she was doing AP1 and 2

Attendence is mandatory for labs, but not for lecture. She is a terrific teacher!! I strongly recommend taking her! She always wants to help her students succeed and she expains things so well! She helped me understand things from Biology and Chemistry that I could never figure out before! She is so funny and nice! :)

TAKE KAREN! You cannot fail her class as long as you show up to lecture and pay attention. The lecture before you have a test or the final she goes over the entire thing giving you the answers (and sometimes even the questions) She is very clear and if you ask questions she will make sure you understand. Attendance is only mandatory for labs.

VERY EASY CLASS. Show up and you will not fail. I had friends in the same course but with different professors and they were having a very difficult time.

I am glad some people think this class is easy. I had to work really hard for my B and I was thrilled with it. I don't know anyone one who got an A that did not do work. She likes things turned in on time and if you want t submit everything late take someone else. I learned a lot in this course because the teacher is helpful.

I have taken all 3 of Ms. Braley's classes. She is a great teacher. She is really upfront with what she wants the student to know and do. It is all science so there is lots of material but she makes it interesting and fun.

I was really scared about taking chemistry. I am an older student and my prior knowledge was zero. It was a tough course for me, but the teacher was great. I went to her office hours for help and she was so kind. She made me feel better about myself and my struggles. I am grateful for her support.

Mrs. Braley is so nice! Her lectures are easy to follow, and she has tricks to remember certain concepts. I enjoyed her class, and I am not the best at math. I did surprisingly well. I wouldn't take anyone else for science.

Best Professor at Daytona State by far. More than qualified to teach biology and chemistry, her background as a cancer researcher makes Prof. Braley a natural choice. She is fair and clear, if you try, you will succeed in her class.

Professor Braley (or Karen, as she prefers to be called) was my favorite instructor at Daytona State. She makes microbiology as easy as it can possibly be by making her lectures interesting, hilarious, and clear. I would recommend this class for anyone.

She is such a great teacher. She's easy going, hilarious, a fair grader and looks out for her students. One of worst quality a teacher can have it trying to trick their students on assignments or tests and she is the opposite. She's as straight forward as they come. Pleasure to be in her class. Awesome instructor. I was really nervous taking chemistry but this class was such a breeze. No textbook needed. she super straight forward and super hilarious! She tells you exactly what you need and gives you many tips and tricks. Would 1000000% recommend her again.

I have had her before for Intro to Chem and did pretty well. I was super nervous about this class but taking it with her made it easy and fun. She's got a great personality and is very helpful. All you have to do is show up to class and listen to what she has to say. She gives you all you need to know for the tests. I would take her again any day.

I drove all the way to Palm Coast from Daytona to take this teacher. 6 week summer class. Half on line and half in class. Not hard at all. Power points on line along with quizzes. Answers are in the power points. Lab is a more difficult but pay attention. She is an excellent teacher. I am going to take her for Chemistry as well.

She is an excellent teacher and resource. She offers a plethora of assistance to any students that request it. I took all of her classes I could take while I was at DSC. She is very fun and helpful at the same time. I would recommend this professor.

I've had Professor Braley previously for a Chemistry course. Took her again for Microbiology and it's been awesome! Aside from her being super funny and sarcastic, she's a great professor and relates a lot of the class to real life (nursing, dental, etc). As long as you show up to class you will pass! Not a tough grader. Just show up and try!!

It is a great class. It easy if you keep up with the assignments, which are clearly defined. It also helps that Professor Braley is very funny and easy going. It's a nice, stress-free environment.

Pretty easy class, its a hybrid so everything is online, except the midterm and the final, and the 2 lab practicals. The lab is pretty easy too.

Professor Braley was awesome! She has an interesting way of teaching WHICH WORKS! Show up to class and you will be fine! Participate in group projects, take pride in your assignments (I believe there is like 3 or 4 nothing to hard just do it!) Turn in things on time and leave your excuses at home!

Prof. Braley is hysterical! Took this course as a hybrid (only met once per week) and had an in class midterm and final for lec and lab. Every lab has a short pre-quiz, and every lecture has a short post-quiz. A total of three online unit tests. Prof. Braley is an amazing professor with lots of knowledge and is always open to offering guidance.

My only problem with professor Braley is that the quizzes were due before she'd covered the material in class, and I had trouble understanding the concepts from the powerpoints so I never liked the quizzes. Labs are fun and she is a character. Taking her other class next semester.

She's a very good teacher, I've taken her for a couple of classes and really enjoyed them both. Her teaching ways are phenomenal she tries to make it so everyone can understand. But, if you happen to be confused, she is there to help you (and provides extra credit on final and midterm.)

Professor Braley is such a great science instructor. She is very humorous, but will be serious when it's time to do work. You most definitely need to put in the work to receive a good grade in her class. A lot of note taking during her lectures, and studying each lab will ensure success in her class.

Honestly, I went into micro thinking it was going to be the WORST class ever and with Karen it was AWESOME! She associated bacteria or what ever it is you're learning about with every day things! Very funny as well! Definitely recommend anyone who needs this class to take her! All quizzes are online, only in class test was midterm and final exam.

Okay, so I took Karen Braley for Summer A Micro lec online, lab in person. SHE IS AMAZING. She is super smart, but also super laid back and kind. You will learn a lot, but she provides you with every single thing you need to be successful. 10/10 recommend taking this professor, I plan to take her for chemistry as well.

if you are indecisive on a teacher for microbiology class, professor braley is the way to go 100%. She is very clear on what the course entails and she is very straight forward on the material you need to know to pass the course. This may have been another college course but I enjoyed all the information and will never forget it! You wont regret it

I took this class in the summer as a 6 week course and I did great. Karen Braley has a clear outline of what needs to be done and when. If you keep up with the assignments, and study for the test you will do great. I would take her for all my classes if I could.

AWESOME is an understatement!!! Braley is seriously one of the best science professors I've ever had. She makes stuff easy to understand for everyone. Extra credit offered on exams. If you need help shes always willing. Just listen in lecture for an easy A! Will definitely be taking her again for Micro.

My class was Survey of Biological Sciences Lab Online. She was interactive with students, however, was slow to grade and put in her final grades pretty late. The final project was the majority of the grade and the weekly quizzes/labs did not count for that much even though that seemed to be all we ever did. Pretty good class, be aware of project.

Professor Braley is a great teacher. I learned a lot in her Survey of Bio online class. Stay on top of assignments. Do the vocab and study guides and you should get an easy A. Three small projects that weren't tough at all. I bought the book but never even opened it after the first chapter. Everything you need is in the vocab and study guides.

Took online without a textbook! Graded vocab as "homework". There are 9 labs in this class they were all pretty straight forward. The quiz time limit is only 5 minutes so make sure you understand and read the power points! 2 midterms and 2 finals (lab c) Lec. also has three 50 question exams. easy class great teacher!

Professor Karen is very good. She is a little disorganized at times, but her online course shell is organized and easy to understand. She explains everything extremely clearly, to the point that someone in middle school could pass this course easily. The online lectures aren't mandatory, but they are recorded and very helpful.

Took the online version of Microbiology and it was great. Online recorded lectures to listen to at your convenience or at the time she does them if you are able to attend. She's well organized, gives you the schedule and expectations right away. grades vocab and study guides and quizzes and tests are mostly from lecture and guides/vocab.

Had 20-or-so easy quizzes, 3 tests, 4 assignments, 10 discussions, & a final. All super super easy! Use study guides, email her, ask questions, & use the internet to study. It is a very very easy A. Prof. Braley was super caring, responded fast, & gives 100 on everything. I learned a lot & realized I loved basic bio. Would recommend this online.

If you do not need a higher science then you should take this course with this professor. She is very sweet and the discussions consists of asking questions or providing helpful hints. Dr. Braley was amazing!! There are a lot of quizzes but she makes understanding the course content easy and fun. The PowerPoints are daunting at first but the lectures make the content easier and more understandable. She is very easy to talk to and gives great feedback or help if you need it. My 14-year-old just finished Bio and Chem with Dr. Braley. It was an amazing experience that brought my shy daughter out of her shell. Dr. Braley's engaging teaching style made her comfortable asking questions in and out of class. She learned a lot, loved the labs, and coming from Port Orange was worth the drive! Dr. Braley made science enjoyable.

Took this class as for my lecture portion of 1010C. Very straight forward and to the point, clear grading, and assignments! She is very helpful and will just you everything you will if you put in the work.

Online lec w/ her & in person at Palmer 4 lab, she's amazing. If you try you will pass. Hw is 20 questions per chapter, quizzes are only 6 questions, 4 exams. She truly does care & wants everyone to pass! Lec isn't mandatory but its recommended.HIGHLY recommend not doing the accelerated class. Lab handouts can take a lot of time!Pickagoodlabpartner

MY FAVORITE professor to date! She is just so chill and funny but also caring. I also love micro, so that made it easier. I will definitely take chemistry with her this fall!

I really like how she had assignments where we made pamphlets and things of that nature. Very fun!

Took this class accelerated and it was a ton of work, but luckily it is organized by week with the information you need to learn, the assignments, and quizzes. There is quite a bit of assignments, discussions, and quizzes but they were all fairly simple. She gave good feedback and I would take her again.

I had Dr. Braley for CHM1025/intro to chem Lec and Lab. She teaches chemistry so much better than whatever I learnt in high school. Her lectures were very comprehensive but they were long and I would start dozing off. Chem lab was easy and if you were done early you could leave early. Overall a good professor and a good experience.
