Karen is incredible as a teacher. She ensures that each student is afforded the opportunity to learn the material. Her tough course is an eye-opener, and she presents material clearly and concisely. If you have questions, she patiently answers. Highly recommended if you need micro or just knowledge

I took this class while I was pregnant (delivering at the end of the semester), and some how mangaged to receive a B. This instructor is very passionate about what she teaches, which makes her class very interesting. I really looked forward to her class, and I learned a lot from her. Thanks!!!

Karen is SUCH a sweet lady. She is very clear, but she covers a lot so you better learn how to write fast. Forget the printed out reviews - study her LECTURE NOTES you will never find something on the test that wasn't discussed in class. She's fair, and sweet, and it doesn't get any better than that. Plus she brought us treats on test day.

Carberry-Goh is a great teacher, and it's quite fun to watch how excited she gets about biological processes, since she loves it so much! She tells you what's on the exams--nothing is unexpected. She really cares and wants to be fair: she takes responsibility for all her mistakes and offers bonus points for the inconvenience.

Karen is the Best biology professor on this campus. I had her in the summer and I got a solid A, and there were very few Cs in class and no Ds. After all these years I finally understand Kreb's cycle. TAKE KAREN FOR MICRO!!! You'll love her!!!

She really takes her time to explain the subject and is always welcome to answering questions. It is true that "anything discussed is fair game"...but what college professor doesn't say that?

I have nothing bad to say about her. She is the most helpful, uplifiting professor I've ever had. Definitely this class is very difficult. It requires a lot of hardwork and REPITITION! (studying is a must) There is 3 exams, may be 1 lecture quiz, 1 report. As for the lab portion I cannot tell you because I had another professor. TAKE HER!

She was is so sweet and kind. When she had to force us to learn something she explained why then apologized and winced and smiled. We did it. A spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down. Her advice on studying and ed plan strategies was very helpful. She is always at her office hour and helps a lot, very patient. Take her class!

Karen was by far the best science professor I've ever had. She was patient and answered questions. She taught the material in a way that made me interested to learn and used current issues in all of her lectures. Micro is a very hard course, but she made it much easier to understand.

Lecture & lab both extremely difficult. Karen is very sweet and helpful. Read, study (and study more) and meet for Beacon & you should be able to pass the class. The vernacular on her lecture exams is different from her lectures so study all info given out in class & read the book.

Probably the only prof to take Micro with at SCC. Explains everything clearly in both lab and lecture, you don't really need to read the book or the lab manual. Just need to memorize facts. Do the study guides. a B is a given, but study for an A.

Wonderful woman. completely competent, impressive credentials (undergrad at cornell, she's a dvm) yet is so personable and easy to approach/talk to. if you have an attendance issue & u talk to her about it she will understand. overall couldn't have done better. if you're scared of microbio but u have to take it, take it from her

Hint: record her lectures and listen to them over, let your brain process the info. Do her study guides and her practice exams. She is a wonderful professor and you pass micro easily if you devote the time necessary with this professor. She gives you the material to do so. I loved her lecture.

Mrs. Goh is infallible. Definitely the best prof at SCC. She is exceptionally knowledgeable and has the credentials from Cornell to back it up. Just do the homework and you'll be fine.

Difficult, but an excellent teacher. Her lectures just make everything so understandable that the material doesn't SEEM hard. She is excited about the subject and her excitement is contagious.

BIO440 is not an easy class, but if you want to learn and not just get by, take Karen's class. You will learn so much, your head will spin. It is well worth it.

She is awesome---very knowledgeable and if she didn't know answers to questions she researches or ask students to help research for class. Everything from lecture is on exams--exams hard but if u attend class and take notes it's easy. 5 exams and a comprehensive final...very hard but if you study and read you should do good.

Well i got a 96%!! Mind you, Im not a genious..... She is by far the best, best teacher ever!! Dont take anyone else for micro. I walked out with an A.

Use your text as an aid. Then if you have time then glance over homework. Don't spend too much time on the homework as it could cause you to get behind on lecture material.

This class was very interesting. I thought it would be hard, but it ended up being an easy A. The project is graded mostly on effort instead of beauty or accuracy. It wasn't boring either. She makes her lectures fun and exciting, not just droning on in front of the class all day. I would take it again if I had the time!

She is very clear what is on the tests, but they are difficult because there is so much to learn. Great teacher. Tests are from lecture and *homework* so study those and tape lecture.

There's nothing bad, but good things to say of Carbery-Goh. Her exam questions are straight forward. There's a total of 3 exams + a final exam. She makes Mircobiol very easy!

There are a total of 3 lecture exams, 2 lab practicals, an unknown lab and a final. I highly recommend her for this class, you won't be disappointed.

Carberry will do everything she can to help you understand short of giving you all the answers. She grades more than fairly, giving extra points, she drops the first metrics exam and doubles the 2nd if its better. TAKE CARBERRY if you're doing it at SCC no micro class will be easy so it's unfair to think it would be with a different professor

She's a very giving/passionate person. The class itself is a bit disorganized and intimidating with all the resources and info that are handed to you but #1 thing to remember is that you don't need to know everything to get an A in the class. I focused on lecture notes, book notes (given to you), and study guides; forget the rest. I got over 100%.

Karen is a sweetheart and is willing to help you. Just go to lecture and read the book. That is all I really did and I did well in her class. Lots of other students made this class their life, but it's too easy to get an A or B because there is a lot of extra credit! So there is no need to stress about it.

Read this before you go to class. If your enrolled in the class, don't worry about getting to class on time on your first day & getting in a car accident. Do not panic, she will send you a email on the day before class saying be on time to not get dropped. she won't. so to those who are not in the class forget about getting in. BE safe.

Bio 440 is a pretty easy class with Carberry. I didn't even go to the open labs or do the extra credit projects and ended up with an A+ because there is a lot of extra credit on the exams. Now the world knows! Take micro with Carberry!

This professor is the BEST BIOLOGY PROFESSOR EVER. Straight forward, no tricky questions, study guides, and encouragement if you take this class take her for BOTH lab AND lecture you will do much better. She is so compassionate and intelligent. I enjoyed this class so much and you will to.

Just took my final exam. This class is a def A if one studies and does all the appropriate readings. Amazing professor, gives heaps of extra credit but don't solely rely on that. Exams are long with 150-170 multiple questions-labs are pretty interesting. Find a way to study for lab practicals and you will coast through with an A grade.

KCG is an awesome professor. Her way of lecturing is fun, but do not underestimate this subject. Be ready to study and do the study guides they really help. Don't put off studying a week/ or a couple of days before the exams. Stay up to date with the material and be aware that there is a cumulative final. BTW she gives lots of extra credit!!!!!!!!!

Had to wait to rate her after I took A&P's. She is sweet, helpful and excellent in explaining the complicated concepts. She straight up told us if you study her PP slides you will get like a low B, so study extra (tons) stuff she gives for an A. I had an A all the way till cumulative final and I got 78, dropped me to B :-( was sort of depressing.

She is seriously the best professor out there! Always looking out for her students and teaching in the best way possible. I would take her again in a heartbeat. Best Micro teacher out there! Attend lab+lectures and ask for help when you need it to pass the class. She provides extra credit which helps a lot. This is not an easy class and you do have to work and put forth the effort but Prof. Carberry-Goh does make it enjoyable. Her exams are straight from lecture power points with additional readings.

Yes this class is hard but as long as you attend every lecture/lab you will succeed. Professor "C" is an exceptional & caring teacher. She sets her students up for success... she wants you to pass! There are plenty of extra credit opportunities. If you score higher on the Final, she'll drop your lowest lecture exam score & double the Final points (same for the metrics exams). She encourages you to record lectures & take good notes.

She is the most amazing professor on campus! 3 lecture exam, 2 lab exams. Easiest Bio professor Ive had, I had Bs in both A&P, but finished this class with a 104%! Just make sure to answer all SG questions, and study that for the exam. She wants students to email her Qs they dont know so that youre studying the material correctly

She has a tendency of constantly making announcements- which can be overwhelming to some students. But aside from that, this class was easy. Do the practice quizzes and study for the lecture quizzes- the questions appear again

Hands down the best Bio department instructor I've had! Always had a great time during both the lecture and lab portions. She's always so warm and welcoming, and is very happy to answer any questions you might have for her. You do need to read the study guides, but they are your BEST source for studying. I only used them for lab and lecture! A+++

Professor Carberry BEST PROFESSOR at community college. The class itself is hard but she tries to make it easy and simple. You won't pass the class if you don't study. I did bad in the first exam but she gave us 20 points extra credit by doing anything. she gives a ton of extra credit you will be surprised. My advice is to watch her videos.

Professor Carberry is the best professor at SCC. Microbiology is a tough course and she tries to make it as easy as possible. There were a ton of extra credit given after each exam. Online course is overwhelming. Lots of lecture videos to watch, but great for pausing 4 note taking. Study her lect & labs & you'll do fine. Study quiz Q's for final & you'll pass! Lots of EC given! She loves what she teaches! Can be quite a NERD, but makes learning fun. 2 tries on quizzes, no Proctor. Proctor on exams + final.

There's no better M-Biol Prof. than KCG. Super nice, available & caring. Lots of EC and pre-tests. The info load is heavy, keep a separate notebook for repeated info, if she repeats cases or questions more than twice it'll be on the exams. I took this class along with O-Chem & aced both courses, I don't think I could have if she was tough on us.

Pre-NURSING students, need to take this class. Lots of info, but helps u learn. Do well in this class, you'll pass the TEAS & get N2 nursing prgm. I passed this class with 112% & let me tell you, getting A's in science courses is a plus if u want to get N2 Sac State!

Carberry is very passionate about microbiology and is amazing at teaching it. She curves exams, so lots of EC if you did well. The class is info heavy but if you can memorize then you will get above an A. I really enjoyed her class and want to take more microbio because of her. Her lectures cover everything on the exam and she gives hints in them.

Professor C is a National Treasure who must be protected at all costs. She is incredibly passionate about Microbiology and it rubs off on her students. She's kind, caring, and works with her students if they fall behind or have personal issues outside of class. Tests are pretty straight forward and usually include a pretty massive curve.

Professor Carberry is absolutely amazing. She's super caring and wants you to do well! Micro is tough and memorization heavy but she explains concepts so well. Exams are curved and she adds 20 extra credit points to each exam. Everything that's on the lab and lecture exams are in her prerecorded lectures! I didn't even use the text! TAKE HER!!!!

440 is a hard class, but Prof C helps you succeed. There is SO much content in this class, but she is always willing to help before or after class and is fast responding to emails. She is so kind and caring. Need more professors like her.

Prof Carberry is a great teacher, she gives study guides and notes for everything she tests you on! She gave a couple of extra credit assignments as well. Be prepared for the modules, they are jam-packed with extra resources! But Prof links everything she tests you on at the beginning of each module.

Prof is amazing, kind and caring. Bio 440 is NOT easy, but she does her absolute best to ensure you do well in the class. Everything you need is in lectures and she gives you notes for exams. Study and attend class, and you will pass. LOTS of EC, responds to emails within 24hrs.

Best and Nicest Professor ever. Put time into this class, do the study guide, and you will get an A. Do not recommend taking other science classes at the same time. A lot of ec. Lecture Heavy and Lecture base exam with bonus points. Quick Response. Caring Professor. Take her before she retires. She prepares you to succeed in your future career.

Although she was very unorganized, she provided so much opportunity for the students to get a higher grade. Her tests were easy/hard, but she automatically gives extra credit on them. I love that she was super passionate in microbio and is so caring and understanding. Honestly, just take her class. You will learn a lot and will be successful.

Professor Won is the BEST Micro professor at CRC. Long and heavy lectures and you must study as hard as you can. Lecture exams are based on notes and study guides. If you know your notes and study guide you will get an A on the lecture exams.

TAKE HER. All I did was take notes on her lectures and make sure I studied them that got me an A+. She also gives extra credit every test. I never used the study guides or the textbooks, only notes directly from her lectures!! She is also very nice and responds to emails quickly. The quizzes repeat for exams especially the final!!

Professor C is truly the best. She's so easy to talk to and very understanding compared to the other professors I had. I was able to pass her class while taking anatomy and physiology.

Professor Carberry is an amazing professor I use a lot of what she taught me to excel in my other biology classes. She's caring and loves teaching. I would definitely recommend taking her class!

Prof Carberry is unorganized but cares about student success. Micro is tough, but she provides lots of support - lots of extra credit, clear lecture content, and even unstuck ai for study prep. Take her class!

When professor says to not trust CANVAS grades, don't trust them. Follow her grading guidelines. She's an amazing and fun professor. Labs/lectures are different as you have to study lecs yourself. The lecture exams are HARD + final. But everything else is quite easy. She gives a lot of bonuses and extra credit as well. A very caring professor!

She is the best professor ever. Make sure you watch her lecture videos and take notes and do all assignment you should be fine.

She is a very caring and passionate professor. The only downside I have is that her canvas for lecture is super unorganized and hard to understand a lot of the time. She would stay after to help people with lecture which was helpful for exams. BIOL440 is hard no matter what and she will pass you but you'll definitely need to put in your own work.

Don't listen to people who say Professor Carberry is difficult. She makes Microbiology fun and easy to understand. If you do the work, watch all the lectures, use the notes she provides, and study about 8–10 hours a week, getting an A+ is very achievable. She's helpful and gives many chances to succeed. Would gladly take her again.

Prof C. was one of the most caring professors I've ever had. She makes micro really fun and provides so many resources for lecture and final exams. TAKE HER BEFORE SHE RETIRES!!! I've seen many complain about the canvas being unorganized, but most of it is just ‘extra'. Everyone that actually IS assigned is very clear and helpful. Love her.
