Ms. Conn is extremely hard to reach for telecourse students. She doesn't return emails and does not grade papers on a timely basis. Halfway through the semester, we still do not have grades for 5 written assignments! Do not take her class!!!!
Very un-clear. Slow talker and gives too much information at one time. People in my class that love the subject still agree she isn't a good teacher. Very mello and spaced out. Bad teaching skills and I came very close to dropping out several times.
SHE TALKS REALLY SLOW, SHE GETS OFF OF TOPIC, NEVER GOES BY COURSE SYLLABUS, SHE IS A NICE PERSON BUT A HORRIBLE TEACHER !! I ALMOST DROPPED OUT SEVERAL TIMES
I personally liked her. She gave me a B and I hardly tried. I recommend her, dont know how someone could not like the lady.
She has no idea of what she wants to talk about, she mixes her topics together and her test are made up. You have to know how she thinks in order to get an A in the class. She gets lost in her thoughts and basically SHE SUCKS!!!

Not a good teacher unless you are already extremelu familiar with humanities and every way. All of our quizes have been take home, but nothing was from the book. EVerything she 'teaches' is off the internet.
Everything everyone has said is right on the money. She is the worst and you wont pass even if you know the book inside and out because half the stuff she says "Its on the Interent"...I foret who the teacher is...Conn or Explorer?

All the quizzes are take home and very easy,but not always just in the book you have to look up answers online. She does not follow the syl. and is very unorganized but very nice. Easy "A"
So far I have 1 pop test grade and that was pop, so I failed. She goes on tangents and makes bad calls when she knows she is wrong yet still insists on what she says is right and that it stands. She is not versatile.
SHE IS VERY NICE LADY. NOT ORGANIZED BUT NICE. ALL HER TESTS ARE TAKE HOME AND SHE DID NOT ASK FOR TOO MUCH PAPERS.

This has been the worst teacher I have had in a long time! She is really ignorant and she can't teach at all. Her tests are take home but the questions are very hard. The only good thing about this teacher is that she is absent a lot and late everyday.

I have taken her telecourse and found it to be one of the most interesting courses yet. Her course is not easy and will require effort but you will certainly learn a lot. I enjoyed her course and would take another.
She is fun , she let us bring food , ect. Very easy going!

You have no idea what is going on in the class. She does not teach but expects you to know what she is talking about. You watch lots of movies in the class. There was only one test a final (hard) lots of ex-credit. It's a headach of a class.
She was sooo unclear about due work. Always confused, always late, and lost soo many papers. She has no tests, but homework is brutal, you never know when it is due. But she gave me an A for nothing.
Teaches concepts and expects you to learn,not just memorize.Students may rate her low because she does alot of extemporaneous speaking and may get off topic.Test are not verbatim from book.You are in school to learn not memorize a couple fill in the blank

I found her to be the worst teacher ever. She missed 5 of our classes and once she talked about death all hour. She lost our work and was confused about what we were doing during class. Her finsl was hard but I still go an A. Just stay on top of things.

I think she must fly into orlando to teach class, with a delay in her flight everyday. Someone needs to tell her to readjust her clock to eastern time, in other words, she is always on time!...Stupid class, easy A. Take it, boring though.

Her class has no structure, and lectures more often than not, did not reflect the material intended to be covered. Grades were not given on ANY WORK or the X-TRA CREDIT work until last two weeks of class!!! Did not even follow her own cut and paste syllabus. Horrible professor!!!!!
Very easy class, easy A. Very boring. But she gives take home tests, pretty much a group final. However, if you have any interest in humanities, she will kill it.

The most awful professor I have ever had! She is confused and disorganized most of the time, and at the end of the semester she hadn't graded half of our work! The assignments were easy, but don't expect any communication or feedback. She should not be teaching.
Easy assignments, quizzes, and tests, but an extremly horrible teacher. She is as others have said confused, disorganized, and not informed at all. BORING!!!, so much, not only that, but she's so disorganized and confused herself that she also confuses everybody in the class, you hear her speak and you immediately want to go to sleep!, if someone's talking and she wants to say something, she'll cut you right off, and she's never sure when things are due and what do we have to do... BORING!!!!!
She does not respond to emails, quizzes are not posted when she says thay will be. There is so much work in this class, way more than Gordon Rule requirements. I highly recommend you avoid this teacher. She does not grade papers to let you know where you stand in the class.

This professor is unprofessional in every way. She will not return calls or e-mail in less than one week (going on two weeks right now), when she does she spells words wrong and uses all caps. Assignments are not posted on time, grades are not calculated timely, and her syllabus is completely disorganized. F.
The professor is kind,understanding,and very encouraging. The class required work, it is a Gordon Rule. Grades were not immediately posted-not a big deal if you were prepared. When the assignments were not posted,she always gave grace periods.I took her class during the summer - so I expected things to be a little laid back. I got what I paid for!

I can't beleive all these people. She is by far one of the best teachers I have had at this sorry excuse for a school. She is very helpful and understanding to a students needs unless of course your a MORON like a majority of the students in my class with Conn.

Ok, I know its hard to judge a teacher just from students entries here. Would it help my believability if you know I am 42 years old? Karen Conn is an absolute mess. I took her for a telecourse and she redid the syllabus FOUR times, the last time in the middle of the course!! NOT the test schedual, the SYLLUBUS! Doesn't know left handfromrite!
She is AWFUL!!! I am still in the class and had to rate her before someone else took her. She is sooooo unorganized, BORING, and does not follow the syllbus. Adds extra class work just cause she feels like it, and like the others you NEVER know when stuff is do. Oh one more thing, she NEVER checks her e-mails. LOTS OF TIME CONSUMING WORK.
She is very disorganized but she knows it. She's laid back and will help you out any way she can. She really knows her stuff. She likes to have class discussions. I go D's on all my tests but i did participate and turn in assignments, I got a B in the class.
Conn is a very nice lady; however, when it comes to teaching she is horrible. Wow, I took this class wanting to learn more about African Amerian History, and this teacher didnt teach a thing. We didnt have a text book and she felt she was a living text book, NOT.The work was point less and she gave extra work with out letting us know,then she says your on your own (crazy)DONT TAKE THIS CLASS SPEND YOUR MONEY SOME WHERE ELSE.
I took the class, it was good, but it would have been better if the other students came prepared for the discussions, that is they did not read the materials Ms Conn assigned. She ask us to think. Some people can't do that.
ok so here's the scoop with Ms.Conn. She is confusing. I took her for summer session B. it's not that the work is hard it's just that you never know when it's due. She told us about a our book report literally 4 days before it was due. I think the most worst thing about this class is that you never get any of your grades back. She's alright.
VERY disorganized! I am in her class now and the work is a breeze but because she is so disorganized and confusing, it makes it hard to keep up. I still dont have the other half of my syllabus. AND IM STILL IN THE CLASS if! you prefer your teachers to be in order and organized, DONT TAKE HER! If you do, you would be setting yourself up for failure!

She is great and not to easy to understand but for the most part, just do your essays and you will be fine. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting to discover the history of humans experiences
She's extremely smart and gives excellent lectures, encourages free thinking and the sharing of ideas. She's a really cool person but I have to admit that you'll never know when anything is due and you'll never know what grade you got on it. Register at your own risk!

I had her for African American humanities in the fall 08 semester. She is really easy, but you don't learn anything. She just puts up youtube videos and movies for lectures. She gives papers and open book tests but you never get any feedback, and due dates are never clear. Easy but very unorganized.
OK now Ms.Conn may be tardy. She also may be unorganized; however, you do learn a lot of information from her as long as you pay attention. She is such an easy A or B, just read what she ask and discuss it in class. That's it! Pick her brain she knows a whole lot.

Prof. Conn is a nice person and an intelligent woman but unfortunately does not need to be teaching. She is extremely disorganized and if you do her assignments you will either never know your grade or you will find out months after you complete it. Save yourself aggravation and do not take her.
This teacher was bad. I did not know that I passed the class until grades were posted by the school. You will turn in work and maybe get it back in 3-4 weeks. She isn't organized at all. Some days she would come to class and talk about things that had nothing to do with the class. DON'T TAKE HER!!!!!
Conn is either absent from class or late often. She don't take role and she don't answer emails. She's very unorganize and too preoccupied with her private life. If your serious about learning more about Afican-American studies, find somebody else.Student in her spring 2010, class should all recieve a refund.

This teacher is the absolute WORST! She never grades anything and you don't even know your final grade until she posts it. We had 2 opinion papers and a research paper. The class has been over for a week now and I still don't know what I got on those papers. Goes off talking about random subjects and doesn't stay focused on what we need to know.

Prof Conn is a great professor. She gave everyone a oppertunity to learn and recieve a great grade. She also gave me the oppertunity to rewrite my Gondia paper and persuaded me to learn a massive amount of extremly valuable information.

I took her for African American humanities. She's a cool person but easily forgets what she tells you is very unorganized. Expect you to read almost everything. She is not very detailed on what u kno for your quizes or what she wants on papers. Very Vague. if u take her do a full term. Always late if u need lots of direction DONT TAKE her.

The most disorganized teacher I have ever taken in my life..if your thinking about taking her online class FORGET IT! Never know when things are do and if you do an assignment you wont find out your grade until next next semester!
She is a great teacher I took her for African Humanities this summer. Wasn't too much homework just 2 papers and one book review which was lots of fun. Great teacher!! If your to learn more about African Hum I highly recommend her!! Just do your assignments and attendance is 20% and you'll get an A!
Never think about taking a course with Professor Conn online. She will disappear for weeks and never return any of your emails.When the semester is almost over she will show back up and assign work.
I was very disappointed in this class. Professor Conn lacks organization, detailed instructions, consistent communication. Pretty much all of the things required for an online course. She NEVER answers emails & will be MIA for weeks then email about all of her personal issues! Valencia should be ashamed to keep allowing her to teach!
