fun teacher, hard, but students will learn if ur attentive and work hard, oh yeah!! she give extra credit
omg shes the best teacher ever...u can convince her to give u extra credit anytime shes higly recommended!!!!!!!!!
If you try, you'll get an "A". If you don't try but do the work, you won't get lower then a "C". Fun class too. So take her class.
She was an awsome teacher. Very helpfull. She always tried to do her best to make sure everyone understood the material. In the beginning she was super strict, but in the end she was really nice. Oh, and yes, she is HOT!
Awesome teacher. She is very understanding and makes class fun. She gives outextra credit and if your haviong troubles in her class she'll do the best to help you. Very strict in the beginning but it is all a joke!
very strick in the begaining, so you can drop her class in the early semester. she knows chemistry, but she doesn't know how to teach. you will get lot of extra credit, and may be get A but you can not learn chemistry from her. makes the question very to understand in the exams so no body get full points and she feels proud that no body got full po
The class is definitely a challenge...as is expected. And she really makes you work your butt off, but overall, she is an AWESOME teacher. Her tests and quizzes are pretty hard, but she does offer extra credit, as long as you're working hard in the class. Definitely recommended if you're willing to work for the grade!
She's really enthusiastic about the material and encourages questions. Always willing to help if you are unclear about things and responds to emails quickly. The material is hard and pretty boring at times, but she tries to make it relevant. If you work hard she will try to help you as much as possible- you cannot slack in this class!
best teacher i've ever had. Makes a boring lecture as fun as it can be, you can tell she cares for students and wants them to succeed. This is not an easy class, but her teaching methods are brilliant. She invests a lot of work/effort to help students, so if you do your work you will be more than satisfied with your grade.
The best teacher ever...Explains very clear, easy approachable , and most of all really, really fun
I took her after looking at the ratings....this is all just a BS..She is a pain in the ass....I know so many teachers who teach chemistry but no one is worst then her.....she is frustrating.....if you have any questions she will help you but in a frustrated way...overall she is a character.....
Be prepared for this class very difficult she was a great teacher but the material was extremely difficult....I lasted about two months and then I had to drop...there is lab report and a take home quiz every week both take a lot of effort and work to get a decent grade...her test were also difficult had to drop because the second test I bombed
Very fun, easy-going, very easy to get an A, such a nice personality and everyone likes her.
She's a great teacher. She's really friendly and funny, and she makes the class fun. The class (chm122) is hard but she knows how to make it less hard and fun. She knows the class is hard so the gradings are based on the student's hard work, which means that she makes us do lab reports which if u worked hard on you could easily get a 20/20.
(Chm122) this is not an easy class. if you put in the time and effort then you will get it and do good. its well worth taking it if you want to be challenged and want to come out of the class knowing much more than the other sections
Awesome teacher. Really need to pay attention during class. The material is difficult to understand at times so study groups and the tutoring center is almost a requirement if you want an A in the class. Lab reports are tough, but they become easier with experience. Overall this was my favorite class above any class I've taken so far.
Dr. Karen is a wonderful professor! She is a gifted teacher and learns how to teach per each student's different learning style. This class is TOUGH, you MUST study hard; lab reports are minimum 5 pages single spaced. It's best to get a group together to study and go over the take-home-quizzes. No weenies!!
I will tell you guys just now...do NOT i repeat do NOTTT listen to the comments below..total blow off! She expects students to be over-achievers over the most littlest things. Only take her if YOU yourself are actually good at Chemistry..otherwise don't even think about it..One of the HARDEST teachers I have ever had..her tests are IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!!
she is a very nice teacher and actually teaches chemistry. take the class only if u want to learn chemistry. dont take it if u just want to get an A.
She does not know how to teach ! If you want to learn the material by yourself or if your god gifted in chemistry then surely take her. Her lab reports are impossible and she is a very tough grader. She insults you like no other. Don't take her class if your not good at chemistry
I don't understand why people complain about her. She's approachable, funny, and knows her stuff. She would always ask for feedback to whether or not everyone gets it. All her quizzes are either take home or done in a group so I don't see why that's so bad. She has no homework either. Although, she's really anal with professional lab reports...
Dr. Karen is an overall good teacher. Even though she says my passive-aggressive disorder is the reason for my inability to get a girlfriend, I still think she's all alright dude. I would recommend her if you plan on taking future chemistry courses where detailed lab reports are required. She helps you become a better technical writer.
Karen is a good teacher in her own way. I wasn't much into chem but after taking her class I learned so much. The material itself is hard, so it's important to get to know your classmates. She gives out alot of work but it boosts your grade if you didnt do well on the test. Lab reports can be a pain too. You have to put time and effort as well.
She is a great teacher. One time, in class, i p00ped in my pants bc of my disorder and everyone was very understanding. Also she is HOT!!! Lab reports suck, but so does life so no suprises there.
She's an excellent professor that know her stuff. She'll prepare you for future chemistry classes and standardized tests. She will WORK you until you're exhausted: 5-8 page detailed lab reports, weekly quizes and group discussions . At the end, if you've worked your ass off and got that "A", you'll cry. Helps, we had a good crowd too.
Good teacher. Only things she is a really hard grader when it comes to lab reports. But she is fun and entertaining
I would save your money from this teacher if I were you because she grades too strict on the lab reports and she confuses people on what to study for the test. Be careful with what you say because she will humiliate you.
She tried her best in teaching the class but was too strict on lab reports. If she found something wrong with the reports you automatically get a bad grade. Also, she said she was a chemist not a chemistry education professor. The book helped a lot but she didn't teach from the book. I don't recommend her. Take someone else if you can.
She is a really funny woman when you get to know her. She is a very difficult grader on lab reports, but if you TRY and put in the necessary effort you WILL pass the class. She's always willing to help if you are lost. The material was difficult, so this is not a blow off class at all. Put in the effort and you will be rewarded in her class
Even if you think you get chemistry and do the lab reports. She is very stubborn and won't listen to you. She called the class stupid for not writing a "professional Scientist" lab report. I went to tutoring to get help for my lab report and still gave me a bad grade. She wasn't fair. I had to drop her class.
Took her for organic chm, and I strongly recommend her.her explanations are pretty clear and if u don't get the material for the 1.time it's ok just ask, she'll explain it to u as many times as u need it.Don't worry she won't make fun of u!she's always ready to help.Do your HW, she won't collect it but she'll put the problems on the test.
Dr. Dailey is a fantastic teacher. Chemistry is considered a "hard" physical science. If you read and do the work, there's no reason you shouldn't get an A. She somehow makes it fun with her personality and quirky methods at times. Her lectures are essential and clear. She wants you to learn the material and she'll help you do it if you're willing.
makes write lab reports alot. very tough grader.
Doesn't help you review, prepare to learn material on your own.
First class test avg was 50%, second test only one student got an A cause she cheated and had her notes out the entire test and the teacher didn't catch it. The class before the test she taught us brand new material that was not on the test, then she handed out a review packet and left for the majority of the class.
Rushes through material to always get ahead even if people are still struggling. Doesnt help review for tests. She basically expects you to know how to perfectly write lab reports or she will give you an F. All of the homework/book is online which takes a really long time to do. She is nice during class, but can be rude at times.
Dr. Dailey is a fantastic professor - definitely the best I've had thus far. She makes boring topics a little more bearable with her quirky personality and is very real with her students. Her explanations of the material are clear, and if you have a question in class she does her best to answer it. I would highly recommend her to anyone taking chem
Karen Dailey is a really caring teacher, BUT she is too hard on students. She expects you to know everything. She also grades all the Lab Reports based on your peers and doesn't give a clear guide. She definitely lectures heavy and makes it very confusing in some cases. She is a really nice person in general, but in my opinion she CANNOT teach.
I took her for the fall semester and I assure you that she is very tough on papers. If you are looking for an easy "A", I would take Thomas instead. She can be rude sometimes, and lecture-heavy. The tests are really hard. Class average on test is usually around 45% to 50%.
Take her if you love to do a lot of homework and like getting a "C" in class. Had to drop out in one month of the semester. Rushes through the material and tests are really tough. Will not curve your grade. Try someone else.
Most of the class got F's on the test and she doesn't curve? Maybe the test is too hard or she hasn't taught the subject well if we can't pass. I have to pass this class and as of now, I might not. She rushes through lectures and doesn't ever help prepare for a test. Not even the final. I have done all she has asked and still might not pass
Karen is great at teaching the chemistry material. I'm not going to lie, the lab reports are tough. She teaches you how to write GOOD lab reports though, and because she grades them relative to the rest of the class, you can improve with the class. Some of these reviews over exaggerat how bad the tests are because they don't pay attention in class.
Karen is a great teacher! She is tough with the labs but they are not a major part of your grade. The HW is relativity easy and the group quizzes are a nice way to get to know a couple of people in your class and get some easy points. The test are straight forward. Do some practice problems, pay attention and you'll be fine. Papa Bless!
Karen was an alright teacher. She had us do a lot of reports and graded them according to a harsh rubric, but a lot of those grades could be made up for in the relatively easy group discussions and quizzes. You should make sure you understand everything and ask Karen for help if you need it because she will go out of her way to try and help you.
Very lecture heavy. Tests are difficult. Homework is not mandatory, but recommended. Textbook is required, however homework questions + answers are posted online so you can get away with not purchasing a textbook. Weekly take-home quizzes pad your grade. Every lab has a lab report except for 3-4 labs. Very, very hard if you don't want to try.
I took this class last semester. I spent on average 5 hours a night doing homework and only received a C in the class. She does not focus on what is important for the class or explain things clearly enough. If you want to work hard and barely pass this is the teacher for you.
She is not good professor.
Easily one of the best classes I've taken. She gave great lectures, explained clearly, and I found her to be pretty funny. However, this class was a lot of work. The weekly quizzes and lab reports took hours, and she grades them pretty harshly, especially the labs. If you do the required work as well as the optional homework, you should get an A.
People say she gives alot of papers. But this is only to pad your grade and make sure if you fail a test you can still past the class! She grades these take home "quizzes" which make you work but if you do them its a easy points. Honestly she cares and her lectures make her feel like your mom. She makes the class like a family and will help you.
This class was very very difficult. Tests were nothing like the lectures. She was nice at times, but made fun of students at times and was a little hard to approach for help.
Difficult material but she encourages questions and tries her best to answer them. Makes it clear that she is accessible outside of the classroom.
Easy A call her Mrs. Dailey
She is a really caring teacher. She will make sure everyone passes. Gives easy A's. Just show up to class
She gave me an A because I showed up to class.
Only take this one class otherwise you will not have time for anything else.
Dr. Dailey's class is by far one of the hardest chem classes you will take. She has a crazy amount of coursework and she grades it intensely. Not a class for anyone looking for an easy A. That being said, her lectures are engaging and relevant and she is such a fun and genuinely caring professor. She prepares students well.
She is a funny and nice person but her class is very difficult. Lots of homework that you cannot focus on your other classes. Weekly take home quizzes that take hours to complete of material not covered in class. Lab Reports every week that are graded harshly. Tests are very difficult and so different than lecture material covered.
As a person Dr. Karen is great. Unfortunately, her chemistry course is very hard. However, the exams that she gave us were extra hard, you will understand the class good, but fail her exam. Please don't waist your time with that teacher. Also, a half of a class dropped her course.
Karen is a nice person. she will encourage you to come to her office hours if you need help in understanding anything. However, her class is very hard and her exams are harder than the final exam as she says. Her grading criteria is very complex as she is very strict when its comes to grading. More than half of the class dropped her class.
Hi, Im one of the students left in Karens class. All the other comments may seem intimidating BUT THIS CLASS IS PASSABLE. You just need to be aware that this is COLLEGE CHEM, things will be taught at a quicker pace but she makes sure you understand the material. Do the work, ASK LOTS OF QUESTIONS, & youll be just fine. (: Shes a lot of fun!
Karen is absolutely fantastic. Not only is her knowledge of chemistry astounding, but she is a genuinely nice person and willing to answer questions. Although many don't like her because of her lab reports (yes, some of them can be 8-10 pages) and weekly quizzes, she does these so that students have extra weight going into tests and things.
The class is very, very, very difficult, and Karen makes it easy. If you want to pass this class I would say that you have to be ready to teach yourself. She often goes way off the topic and taking her last semester made it so fun. If you are a person like who gets offended on small things people have patience.
She isn't a prof anyone science major should take, although you can become friends with her. But as a teacher, she isn't the best. No extra credit doesn't help you pass the class. I took her spring class last year. Hopefully, this helps
Dr. Karen is by far the best professor I've ever had. She makes her class very entertaining and she genuinley cares about her students . If you do take her course, you will have to work for your grade it is not an easy A class. Overall, do problems from the book, complete all the weekly quizzes, go to her office hours for help and you'll be fine.
Karen was an extremely difficult professor. She did not seem to care for her students and graded them exceptionally hard. She admits to not being a great teacher and makes fun of students.
Horrible professor, unfair and unkind. Says it best herself when on the first day she tells the class "I' am not a good teacher, I am a chemist". Believe me, it shows. Do not waste your time, just buy the book and read it yourself because it's the same thing. You will be miserable in any class with her, don't do it to yourself bro.
Karen is great! She was helpful in class and outside! She was always free to help! And she is a friendly face! She was a great professor. Not the typical Karen :)
Doctor Karen Dailey Is not a typical Karen! she is an incredible person and a thoughtful and astounding educator. Chem121 is extremely stressful and not an easy thing. I have had multiple come to Jesus moments, but if you want a Professor who will go out of her way to make sure you are successful in her class, she is your perfect fit. :)
Professor Karen is one of the most caring Professors I have had. I will be honest, I have had multiple breakdowns, but she actually cares about her students and will take the extra mile to help you succeed. She assigns many homework and quizzes, but all are amazing help towards the knowledge being gained. Would definitely recommend, absolutely love
from Hellllllooooo, My Lovelies to Later, babes Karen is an amazing and kind human being. Chm 121 is like walking on glass with no shoes but Doc Karen Dailey will gladly walk with you down this roadway to hell. The best way to be successful is to put in the time and work to get the grade you want. Do all the homework time management is key!
Professor Karen is an amazing person and professor. She puts great effort into making sure that her students understand the material. Her class was difficult... it is a college chem class after all. She is always available even on the days she doesn't have office hours. As long as you stay on top of your work and ask her questions you will pass.
Dr. Karen is a wonderful Professor. She will do anything for her students. The class is not an easy A. Establish friends in the class because you will not make it alone. The labs are easy but worth most of your grade besides exams. It is not extremely hard but you will spend at least 15 hours a week doing work for this class.
Stop looking at professors and pick Karen! I took this course as a blended course. Her exams are difficult, however, they make the final seem like a piece of cake. Weekly quizzes, discussion group projects, and labs (as well as HW). Seems like a lot of work, but it really helps cushion your grade. If you watch the lecture videos, you'll succeed
This was a very challenging class, since it was online. However, she was willing to talk with students outside of class, answer questions, and help us along with some of the assignments. This class does require a lot of time each week but she makes it fun and you can work with your peers. She seems to really care about students. Take her class!!!
assigns alot of homework, extremely tough grader, lecture is very heavy. This class is online asynchronous this summer but expects us to meet on zoom every week??LOL. would never take this professor again!
Karen is a very smart and kind professor. The course is a lot of work but she does everything she can to help you succeed. Shes extremely helpful and accessible on the weekends. If you put in the work you will do just fine. Would definitely recommend this teacher.
This is what I wish I would have read before taking this class: Be prepared to dedicate your life to this class in order to pass. Dr. Karen is a very harsh grader and does not curve anything. She pretends to be this amazing person, but when you ask for help she is suddenly too busy. When the average grade for our class was a 50% she said "oh well".
Dailey is a very kind woman and certainly knows what she is talking about. But she is an extremely strict grader with no extra credit. Also a lot of the time when you go for help she repeats the question to you awkwardly and isnt much help in guiding you in a better direction and will often make you feel dumb for asking. 20+hrs of work a week!
I heard this class was hard but wow did professor Dailey make it harder! She was VERY strict with grading and your answers needed to be EXACTLY how she wanted. When I needed help she was there to talk but honestly didn't help much. At times she made me question my answers and made me feel dumb. Nice person, not a good teacher.
Listen, idk why all these dudes saying its so much work. What did you expect? Shes amazing and yes she might not curve and the class average might be terrible. But if you watch the lecture videos then you'll do just fine. Do your work and you'll be fine.
Chem 121 is hard no matter who teaches it, however Dr. Dailey is a very helpful and caring teacher. She was very motivating and you could tell that she cares that you pass her class. Obviously it's a lot of work, but if you watch all the lectures and manage your time then the class is straightforward. Go in for help! She explains things very well!
Professor Dailey is very nice and caring and truly cares about you learning the material. Chemistry itself is a really hard subject so you will need to put at least 20 hours a week to get the grade you want. I would strongly recommend going to her office hours and doing mastering chem assignments. The only downside is she's a very tough grader.
Dr. Karen is a wonderful professor. While her class is challenging, its very interesting and quite fun. I took it online with a lab every two weeks. The labs were organized and easy to understand which we would work with a group of 4 on. Dr. Karen is entertaining and really does make the difficult topics very understandable. I recommend!
Dr. Karen is not as bad as these reviews claim her to be. Yes, you have to put in the work, but that is with any Gen Chem course. This course isn't meant to be easy so please don't waste your time thinking it is. A pretty tough grader, however, it's only for the readiness of the mandatory state final. Dr. Karen is very accessible, so reach out!!
Dr. Karen Dailey is very nice person but shes not the best teacher. Almost my whole class dropped out. Her lectures are very long and hard to understand. Be prepared to study and work on homework for at least 15+ hours a week you basically teach your self the material.
Turned my love for science around and made me decide to advance in dropping my first class ever. She assigns so much homework and provides no help. When struggling, she acts like its your fault and just directs you to her SI. If you want to stay happy, I'd stay away from her and anything she does. Goodluck take someone else.
Karen is nice person, but not a good teacher. She'd rather intimidate the students rather than to teach them. Made students feel stupid when visiting office hours and was difficult to communicate with. I'm retaking this course with another prof and my experience so far is so much better than taking it with her. Do yourself a favor and avoid her.
Karan is a nice person but horrible Professor. I never rate professors but I felt the need to let people know what theyre getting themselves into because I sure wish I had a warning. Most of the class dropped. She has ridiculous expectations. Practically calls you stupid for doing poorly in her class. She is Unprofessional and judgmental.
I don’t know why these reviews say she’s nice. She is so rude. This class made me absolutely miserable and Karen’s disrespect made it even worse. She called me dumb for not understanding the lesson which really upset me considering I was trying my best. Don’t take her unless you want to fail badly. My classmates and I dropped her class!
Things I wish I knew before taking Karen’s class: be prepared to drop whole social life and job. Must spend 20 + hours to get a C. Be prepared to fail all of your other classes. Pros: she is nice, provides office hours Cons: she is very blunt and will call you Out.her office hours don’t help if ur confused. Too much papers. No curves. No EV
After 2 mon of trying my best, I have decided to withdraw from a class for the 1st time ever. She is disrespectful and unprofessional leading my mental health to hit rock bottom. the crazy workload that she gives led me to fail all of my other classes which is bad considering I am a straight-A student. must spend every sec of ur life doing her HW!!
I’m confused as to why she even still works there. Dr K sets ridiculous standards for her class and drowns you in 15 + assignments with a very short due date. It’s impossible to pass. She brought in her former student to scare us into doing better in her class. The whole class failed. Good Luck with her. Bad Professor
Karen Dailey Is an amazing professor. She is one of the only Chemistry teachers who truly wants her students to succeed. Her class is really hard but she will always be there to help you. A lot of students come on here to talk mad smack but she is generally trying.
there’s a decent amount of work but if you do the work you’re not gonna have a problem in this class.
Dr. Karen understands the material and is a good communicator. She is a tough grader, but she explains what you need to do in the syllabus at the start. Good professor if you really want to learn Chemistry.
Dr. Karen is one of the first chemistry professors I’ve had that actually cares about her students succeeding. Although the coursework can be tough, she is always there to help provide extra help and will stay until the student feels comfortable. High recommend!
Dr Karen cares about her students and is very helpful when you ask. I've had a bit of a hard time in this class but nothing unexpected from gen chem. The one thing I will say is that if you don't watch the lectures she'll be a little rough on you, which is I'm guessing why there's some bad reviews on here. Easy to guess who's keeping up on here...
Professor Karen is a very sweet lady with a kind soul. The only issue I had with her was that i didn’t feel comfortable meeting her at office hours because my classmates said she would be angry with them if they were confused on lectures. I also noticed she’s not much help during lab but the labs are very fun!
Not worth it. Would have gotten an A+ with another professor. Your Decision but these ratings speak for themselves.
Dr Karen is not an evil human! I'm assuming most of the negative reviews on here are from students who either didn't take a college STEM lab class before or are lazy. If you're a STEM major, this is just the beginning. Gen chem is NOT easy. There WILL be a good amount of work that is required for you to be prepared for the exams. Go to office hours
The tests are kinda hard but she's a nice professor
She wasn't my favorite. She's very tough. is a nice lady but has her favorites and shows it. witnessed her talk badly about my friend for dropping her class. there's less than a month left of class and nearly the entire class dropped. Her grading is crazy strict. I should have read the other reviews before taking her. trust the reviews they help.
Amazing teacher. I loved her so much and her lectures. Karen made the class very interesting and for once I was ready to learn about chemistry. You can tell she really cares about teaching and her students. 10/10 would recommend
I was worried about taking this class, but I truly loved Karen. She was able to help me when I was confused and she was able to help me pass this class. She definitely sets a different vibe in the classroom, but it truly does help you learn the content. (She also has 2 puppies, so that makes it even better!)
Karen truly cares about her students. You will come out so much more knowledgeable than when you started. She is there to help you with assignments. She wants you to learn and succeed in her class. On top of this she is a caring person. She wants the best for all her students and you can tell she is passionate about what she is teaching.
These bad reviews do NOT reflect Karen. Yes the content is hard, but its college. welcome to hard classes, nothing is easy anymore. Karen tries her hardest to help her students through the maze of chemistry and makes lectures very understanding. Don't avoid this class just because of the reviews, she is an amazing teacher.
Karen is a very good professor. She gives out extra credit and makes chem fun to learn; you can tell she's passionate about what she teaches and always cracks a joke about it. Definitely recommend her for chem 122.
She was an ok teacher but she clearly had favorites. I didn't even pick this instructor initially worst surprise for my first year. Don't take it with her unless you want no time in your day for work, family, and other responsibilities. eat breathe chemistry.
She was funny and kind but very condescending during office hours. I would suggest take it with a better rated teacher since she's very nitpicky when she grades assignments and tests. Karen stated that we should be putting in 41 hours of studying outside of class in a month. Laughed in my head and knew I messed up picking this teacher. Reviews help
She is very unorganized, illogical and condescending. Waste time with chit chatting, then complains that there is not enough time to teach. Gives no clear guidance on anything. Hires a student assistant, then says they are not there to assist you, just to watch you do practice problems...Might as well teach yourself chemistry and save your money.
Would not recommend
Karen was a joy! She gives ample opportunity to show your knowledge in more formats than tests. She is very understanding of life outside of school and is easily accessible. The subject matter is difficult so the expectation is to work hard to do well. She is passionate about chem and wants you to succeed. If you really want to learn chem take her!
Prof. Dailey was one the best prof I have ever taken at Harper. She can be really strict at times, but she definitely cares about her students. Her test are somewhat difficult, but if you know your material, you should be okay.
Lots of work and exams are very difficult but I think its a fair amount of work, it's Chemistry after all. DO ALL YOUR HOMEWORK!! Helps you a lot to pass. If the class was just based on exams everybody would fail but if you do all your assignments required you should pass. Also if you do good on the final it replaces your lowest test grade.
She is a great professor with tough exams. Pushed me to actually study and try for this class. There is enough assignments to get a good grade if you don't do to well on the exams. Also the final exam grade can replace the lowest exam grade (the final has a curve)
THE BEST professor I've ever had. She's all about building the classroom connection. Made me feel empowered and comfortable. The classroom felt like family. BUT it is a difficult class, loaded with homework, labs, exams etc. She gives you all materials you need to succeed- but you have to put in the work and time. Not for ppl who want an easy A
LOVE HER. She will not hold your hand through the class. If you want to be successful, she will help you do so. Put in the effort early on. Ask specific questions. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about chemistry. A complete badass. Super understanding but will not take late work. She will make you work for it, but very manageable.
Although I got a C in this class without this professor I would of failed. Very adamant that late work will not be accepted. Lecture heavy class but the textbook helps a lot. She gives fantastic feedback on labs and expects highly of you. She will help you if you ask questions and truly wants what's best for her students. Would 100% recommend
Dr. Dailey is a wonderful professor and person. She made the class so engaging and interesting. The best thing about her class is the fact that it isn't test heavy. The way she weighs every assignment allows you to fail every exam and still pass the class as long as you're putting in the work on the assignments she gives you.
Dr. Karen Dailey is a wonderful professor IF you are ready to work. The courses she teaches are very tough and will require your attention, so if you are ready to read, take notes, pay attention during lectures you will succeed. One main thing - DO EXTRA PROBLEMS IN THE TEXTBOOK, and visit SI.She gives extra points and lets you drop some low grades
If you show up and do the work you will succeed.
Professor Dailey is a fantastic lecturer, Gen chem is a difficult class no matter who you take it with. She has weekly take home quizzes that are not bad and if you go to her or the SI session you can get plenty of help. The lab reports are a pain but again she gives plenty of help. SI is extra credit, do it. She tough but fair.
Her class is for people who want to really know chemistry and want to do it instead of people just getting gen chem out of the way. Her lectures are a bit long and sometimes difficult to understand and reading the textbook will help. Her lab reports are very difficult and long and her tests are difficult as well. I recommend someone else/
The class is tough, but if you put in the work, you'll succeed. The professor is passionate and wants you to learn, but she won't hold your hand. Use unstuckstudy and the textbook to stay on top of the material.
Karen is a very caring and attentive professor who wants you to succeed. She gives tons of extra points opportunity, there are weekly quizzes to boost your grade, and mastering hw is optional. This is a very tough course and she will not stay behind for you so there is a lot of work expected of you outside of class. Overall awesome choice.
Dr. Dailey is an excellent professor who is very passionate about chemistry. Lectures are amazing, yes the content is difficult, but if you show up to each class and pay attention you'll be fine. Tests are difficult, I recommended that this should be the most difficult class you're taking for the semester. Overall, work hard and you'll do great.
Dr. Dailey is my favorite chem teacher at harper. But her classes are very tough only take her if you want to learn the topic. ABSOLUTLY DO NOT TAKE HER IF YOU DONT CARE ABOUT THE CLASS. She is a very tough grade and exams are extremely hard but the ACS final is supper easy if you take her. One of the most passionate and caring teachers I had
I have countless things to say about Dr.Dailey, the smartest professor ive ever met. She is so passionate about what she does and she is amazing at it. She offers so much extra credit and her grading is super fair and will point anything out to you if you need help. She cares about her students and wants them all to succeed. Overall 10/10!
This class was very hard, but thats expected because its a 5-hour credit. Karen was so easy to talk to and very understanding. If you go to her office hours, you will learn more, take advantage of those office hours! Overall, amazing professor.
Just absolutely not.
