Very critical at first, but helped me to write much better papers. Great teacher that makes you earn that "A". In the long run she does us all a favor by doing that. Highly recommend her. Great personality and very understanding.
She's just a great teacher
Great teacher. I wish i would have known about her before i took mrs. padgett for english comp 1 and 2.

excellent teacher, really nice
great teacher i wish i would have taken her for english and not rich king
very interesting and smart teacher!! I LOVED going to class for the current events discussions. (She tends to favor the girls though.)=)
She is possibly the best English teacher ever.
ABSOULTLEY A PERFECT A ++++ TEACHER!!
I thinkg miss david was an awesome teacher and I highly recommend her to everyone. I would take her class over anytime!
It's a really open sort of class and the assignments she gives are pretty easy and clear. She's really nice too :)

She is an awesome teacher!
She is a reall good teacher. she is willing to help you all the time. coffee ummmmmm good. she loves coffee. starbucks
Super sweet and very helpful. She is probly one of the best teachers at this school.
I love Karen. She can be a bit pig headed sometimes, but I think it's just because I hang out with her loser son, and like all of her loser sons friend want to make sweet love to her.
i had Ms Davis for a number of classes, she is the best teacher you can take for creative writing, eng comp, or world cinema, expect to have a fun time in her class. I would highly recomend her for any class. She is concerned about her students and it shows
She is a superior teacher!
Awesome Teacher! Just come to class and do the work and you'll pass
Excellent teacher!!!
Professes "Patriotism = nazi" & "Republicans = facism" and furthermore "Disney is evil"? "Pinnochio is one of the most evil right wing propaganda films ever made"... while explaining how much she is "in love with Michael Moore", her hero... I wanted to learn/explore film, not about her misinformed & jaded anti-american capitulating political views!
Nice lady. Easy class but you do have to show up. Attendence is important unless you plan on watching these movies at home. Class bases on watching movies and writing/talking about the. Test are fairly easy. Enjoyed it very much. Learned a lot.
Sometimes she would drive me a little crazy because our politics were on different spectrums, and sometimes i wanted to hug her for how much sense she made. I am really glad I took this class because I thought I was a political genius before it and it opened my eyes a lot. Take her!
One of the best teachers here
Fantastic teacher! She loves the subject and is very enthusiastic about teaching it. Witty, charming, intelligent, and cute, she will make you love Shakespeare. Very politically astute, she may change your conceptions of politics overall. I can't recommend her enough. I was surprised to find out how old she was. She looks about 43.
Karen's class was pretty easygoing and not very stressful. It's an easy A, as long as you show up for class and put in a minimal amount of work. While I disagree with her on politics (like others here), I think she's a great person.
She is a very understanding teacher. A bit flighty, and I don't necessarily agree with her political views, but she is extremely passionate about what she does. I'd recommend her to anyone interested in taking an English class with her.
I adore Professor Davis. She's such an adorably quirky person and is extremely knowledgeable. I can't speak for the English class, but take any elective you can from her - I did! They are all fun and interesting.
Professor Davis is very nice, easy going and understanding, but is VERY TOUGH on papers! Be prepared to be disappointed when you get a paper back and realize you didn't get the grade you thought you would. She isn't unfair, just very picky when it comes to grading. Exams are easy though. Not impossible to get a B for the course.
I don't think Professor Davis is a tough grader at all. Pretty easy, actually. In elective classes, she circles grammatical errors but doesn't count point off for them. Just make sure you follow the directions and respond to every part of the assignment. I never made less than an A on a paper.
I took all three creative writing classes and Intro to Shakespeare with Mrs. Davis and she is an absolutely fantastic teacher and stunning individual. The classes are well informed but easy to keep up with and she makes everything unteresting with her quirky personality. I cannot reccommend her enough she is a real sweetheart who loves whatshe does
Really easy. She didn't mind when you turn things in, as long as you turned them in eventually. Highly recomend, easy course
This teacher is amazing and in fact she has became one of my favorite teachers. I have had her for creative writing and Intro to Shakespeare and in both courses I have not only learned so much but she has inspired me personally to become a teacher.I recommend anyone take her because you won't be disappointed.
Cluttered, flighty, and a bit hard to keep on track. Read chapters, answer questions, do your papers early (not a ton of help in class), no tests. MLA format, at least two pages, four papers total. Do the extra credit, you'll develop as a person, but don't hope for class participation - it's a LONG SHOT.
nice lady was a bit confussing not a bad class no test just do your essays and you will do fine
shes an easy teacher to understand and she gives u plenty of time to complete ur assignments
Davis is awesome. Really knows her stuff!
Davis was recommended by a few friends of mine and I was definitely not disappointed. She's funny, interesting, and extremely helpful. Most of the time the book wasn't necessary, because she made hand outs on the important material. As long as you study the hand outs and write the essays, you'll pass with an easy A.
Love Davis, one of my fav teachers at phcc. Her classes are easy and fun. Take her class!
This class was great! Everything we learned was relevant. Test were easy f you come to class, and study the easy guides. Class was fun!
I took Davis for CW1 and CW2. She is hands down one of the best teachers here at PHCC. I would highly recommend her to anyone! Her class is very easy but you have to show up and do the work. She is always answering your questions and helping you with whatever you need. She's amazing!
Mrs. Davis is an absolute sweetheart. Very understanding, and is really motivated to get her students to learn. There is a lot of reading and 4 major papers, but if you follow her instructions you should do well
Mrs. Davis is a good teacher. Class was pretty enjoyable, it always sucks writing two 5 page research papers, though. She gives you a lot of time to do the work, just do not wait until the last minute, or you will have a ton of work to do.
Davis is a very caring and motivating professor. I enjoyed coming to class. Participate in class and don't wait til the last minute writing your papers and you will get an A.
Spoke way too fast and overall was very hard to understand. I feel like I got a low grade because she wasn't concrete in what she wanted in each essay. I would definitely want another English teacher besides her. This class was my least favorite in my time at PHCC.
Great teacher! Easy to learn from, very straightforward, but don't expect an easy A. She definitely has you work for your grade, but it is in no way impossible to achieve. Would take her again in a heartbeat (:
Ideal professor! Very laid back and is always willing to help. She always managed to keep the lectures interesting. Best professor for English Comp period.
Davis is a fantastic teacher. She's really understanding, and you can tell that she loves to teach.
Class was easy, gives short quizzes on readings (only 5 questions long, very easy questions). You write papers, but it's usually around 3 pages long. She does grade essays carefully, word by word. However, she won't give you anything below a C unless you totally bomb it.
She was vague in terms of how you could better your writing. She did not give specific feedback. Overall she was vague and a very hard grader. I would recommend taking her class at the campus because taking her class online was not a great experience.
Mrs. Davis was a good teacher! She would email back quickly and answer your question perfectly! There are a few reading tests, but it wasn't bad, and about three or four papers to write. I would recommend her if you are going to take ENC1102. The book is necessary for the stories and reading (papers come from the stories in the book).
One of my favorite professors at PHSC. Very knowledgable and understanding of her students. She is organized and lives teaching.
She was an amazing professor. She's not a tough grader and isn't picky. Professor Davis is really nice and caring. She has amazing lectures. and she talks to you face to face rather than looking down upon you. My favorite professor so far
One of my favorite professors! She is caring and funny. She makes class enjoyable, even though sometimes it's kind of a waste of time because she gets distracted and talks about other subjects a lot but she does go thru every essay and she clearly tells you what she wants & how your essay should be. It's a super easy english comp 1 class. RECOMEND
Great teacher, very easy class. All you do is watch movies and write reviews in a journal you turn in at the end of the semester. There's 3 assignments, fairly easy but you will need to put in some effort. There are 2 tests, pretty easy just read the handouts and some reading in the textbook. Good class for electives.
Professor Davis is my favorite professor at PHSC. She genuinely cares for her students and is great at her job. She gives you the grade you deserve. So put in effort and you should pass her class with an A
Talks too much about random topics.
Professor Davis is a friendly person, but I did not enjoy her as a professor. We had an opinionated paper that she took entire letters off of if she didn't agree with your opinion. She gave extra credit and chances for you to catch up, but her class time was not spent wisely. She goes off topic too often.
She graded our papers based on our opinions vs hers, but Im not complaining I guess. I aced the class. Shes caring, lenient, will let the class vote on things, etc. Goes off topic sometimes but reels it in eventually. If you dont pass her class, youre obviously not trying. Her assignments are challenging, but easy if youve participated.
She's very nice, but also very opinionated. I even agreed with a lot of what she said, but I still think she was too much sometimes. The class is fun, but be ready for lots of debates that are off topic. There are 4 essays and they're all easy, and she let's you redo them if you want to before the end of the semester. You don't really need the book
When all assignments are completed you don't have to come after for two weeks basically. You won't ever get a C on a paper unless it is terrible and even if it is she doesn't grade anything under a 70. She's really nice. Only bad thing is her lectures are talked about the same thing the whole class really but you do learn.
Davis is very clear on what to expect, and follows the syllabus. Your grade is mainly dependent on 4 essays. There is handouts in class, but barely. She gives opportunities for extra credit and even lets you revise papers. Beware, she is opinionated, and she gets off topic a lot, but it's always fun and interesting.
Given that this was a documentary studies class, I went in expecting to just sit around and watch some films - but it was much more. She was very eager to foster discussion, promoting discourse on the (oft-controversial) topics covered in the films we saw while maintaining a respectful atmosphere. I look forward to her spring Peace Studies class!
I had Davis for comp 1 and 2 and they were both easy classes. Not many assignments and all you really have to do is an essay a quarter and maybe some quizzes depending on which class you're taking. It's an easy A but the lectures are quite boring and she gets off topic too easily. Spent 20 minutes in class one day talking about fun dip.
Shes an easy A. Gives you quizzes about a short story you should have read for homework and the questions are easy. The essays are easy to get an A in. Im bad at in essays still managed to get a good grade in them. Plus she lets you redo on Essay at the end of the semester. Only problem is she doesnt let you out early and about random stuff
She is very understanding but won't just let you do what you want. If you fail it's because you completely didn't try.
I enjoyed our conversations in class, but they were off topic. Quizzes were easy, but was a tough grader with essays. My classmates assumed that it was because the essays didnt match with her opinions. She expected different things on how to write an essay like to write 8-12 sentences in each paragraph and 1 or 2 part thesis.
asks for you opinion in your weekly journals and then gives you bad grade because she disagrees with your views. encourages conflict.
She's alright, 3 essays and quizzes on short stories.
Every class turns into a long rant about race and she assigns movies to watch that are such heavy topics they are hard to watch. She also grades super harshly and doesnt give any helpful feedback on how to improve she just says your work is terrible and needs to improve. I would never take her class again.
She is very difficult to work with. I was in and out of the hospital for like a week and a half and missed a few assignments, due to surgery and follow-up appointments. I explained what happened in detail and asked if I could make up the work, she said no and that I had to wait until the end of the semester.0/5 Wouldn't recommend. Lies about emails
Davis is very opinionated when grading. She chose science-related topics for the papers, and then said to not make it a science paper... she wants you to succeed but makes you feel stupid if you ask a question that she knows the answer to. Lectures are totally off topic and run overtime. 4 papers, 8 quizzes, no final.
Very little assignments so be careful when failing anything because there's not much extra credit on revising old papers for as little as 10 points....
Easy assignments but mostly off topic professor. She talks about politics most of the time and it gets overbearing after a few lectures. Only get 4 essays and some grammar quizzes for work so you really gotta do good on the essays to keep a good grade. Criticisms for the essays arent good either. Overall, bad professor and easy work.
She's a tough grader on her papers but allows revision of two. Her quizzes are 10% weight: only 5 questions with 10 points each, so there is bigger chance of flunking them. She can get off topic and is sarcastic, but it can sometimes come off as rude or patronizing. Your grade is not based off of many assignments so pass as much as you can.
She is really sweet and she does work with you when you need help with papers. But she is a tough grader when it comes down to essays so make sure you do good on them if not it can hurt you. And she gives out 4 essays and quizzes that are due on your own time there are like 7 or 8 of them.
Professor Davis is a really good teacher, she cares about her students and makes sure everything is alright with you if you miss an assignment. And she lets you make up work.
Professor Davis is fantastic! She is very intelligent and cares about the subjects she teaches. She not only explained Shakespeare's writtings, but also gave the context in which they were written. She would then draw parallels so that you could grasp how they applied to modern times. Socially conscious and fair, but she expects your best work.
