Karen is the nicest teacher at the JC, some topics were not as clear as they should be, so reading the book is crucial. During labs I thought she could have been more engaged and helpful but if you ask, she has no problem answering questions.

She is a great chem professor; she is very interested in the subject and really wants to impart her love of chemistry to her students. Her class is very easy, I only needed a 55 on the final to get an A for it. Her final is multiple choice so she grades it quickly; her tests are fairly easy, just pay attention in lecture and put the studying in.

Professor Frindell is fantastic. She's clear in lecture, gives thoughtful answers to student questions, and her enthusiasm for chem really shows. Your grade rides on exams; and you'll need to work HARD if you want an A. I did all of the optional homework, visited her office hours, and held a 2x weekly study group, and still got a B due to exams.

Karens lectures are clear, concise & thoughtful. She is intelligent & enthusiastic about chem, so she's a good educator. I work hard but I am good at chem, though I often find the optional homework to be very confusing. Sometimes when I'd ask questions about it in office hours, her responses weren't always the most helpful. Otherwise she's awesome!

She's extremely nice and answers students' questions with a lot of depth. She is passionate about chemistry, and her lectures are very clear. Reading the book is a good idea (especially if you're online during COVID-19). Her tests are pretty hard, but HW is extra credit. She runs a chill lab and doesn't nitpick on lab reports.

Karen ( she now goes by 'K') is an AWESOME instructor. I took her Chem 3B course online during the pandemic. She is very clear during her lectures, takes her time, and will help you if you're struggling. Go to her office hours if you need help! If you put in the effort and the work, you will pass. Highly highly recommend Professor K!

I really enjoyed my time in her class. She is enthusiastic about what she teaches, is very clear about testing criteria (posts a list of things to know before every exam), and goes over them after to help anyone who didn't understand/missed a question. I have terrible studying discipline and still found this class relatively easy!

I enjoyed how Dr K was so immersed in chem, but because of this, she would often get off topic which made lectures sometimes challenging to follow. That being said, she's terrific about making sure everyone understands and clearly wants everyone to succeed. I appreciated that HW was extra credit as well.

Frindell is a great professor, she grades very fairly and the material on the tests is clearly covered in homework/lecture. Homework is optional extra credit but if you want an A you need to do the homework. We were allowed note pages on exams, so this class was very straight forward if you are accustomed to other STEM courses.

Dr. K was such an impactful instructor that she even let me tutor her class. Not only is she a well-respected chemist, she's also maintained leadership roles at the JC and is a great resource and ally. General chemistry is a difficult and fascinating subject, so be sure to put in the outside-of-class effort and be an engaged student. Very fun class

Dr. K was a very good professor, my biggest gripe with her is not putting the grades in through Canvas. Instead you are expected to use an Excel Sheet to calculate your grade. I appreciated that in order to get an A, you need to only get an 88%. In lab she would do other things which distracted her from the students' work and cause errors in work.

Professor K is enthusiastic about chemistry and strives to ensure students understand the material. The course is challenging but manageable with engagement and outside-of-class effort. Unstuck ai was a helpful study tool alongside the textbook and lectures.
