I LOVE DR. FRITZ!!
Dr. Fritz is the coolest!
GREAT PLUS VERY FUNNY DURING LECTURES. A PLEASURE TO BE IN HER CLASS
Really great teacher, but a tough one. You take lots of notes and have long tests, but she gives great lectures and is very funny and interesting.
A bland course made fun and enjoyable. She taught not only the course, but how to study for exams. A great Professor with excellent verbal skills and presentation of the subject matter.
Awesome teacher that makes sitting in class for 50 minutes enjoyable.
Class is never boring!
Her course is not easy, but she makes it fun to learn
Great teacher never boring!!! Not possible to ever fall asleep
Dr.Fritz is the best teacher ever she makes history fun and always has jokes to tell. Her class is not easy you have to the the novels and study for the test, but she gives study guides. She is the best teacher!!!!!
Fantastic prof. Loved her class!!!
If you take any other history course but one with her you are crazy. Most entertaining and interesting class I have taken at VC. Recommended+++
History is my WORST subject, and Mrs. Fritz (Hagan now) makes it AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
she is one of the wierdest people I have ever encountered but she is an awesome teacher and and awesome person! I cannot forget the crap I learned in her class if I tried.

She took over my class when my gov. teacher became ill and I LOVED her. She is tough, but it's worth it becuase you will enjoy her lectures. HALARIOUS!
The best professor I have EVER had, I worship the ground she walks on...well, not really, but she's an amazing professor. Two days into her class I wanted to switch to a History major.
i loved both classes and and her teaching! she is the coolests, she is down to earth but she knows what she is doing! I recommend her if you have to take history!
All I can say is WOW!!! If all my professors were of her caliber I'd have a 4.0... She's simply the best instructor I have had to date. Be aware that her class is not for the lazy!! I took both her classes and loved them both.
There is a reason why she got voted the best professor at VC twice. Her short hair and cussing will blow you away. Fun class. Easy A if you study. Few tests. Two book tests where you are tested over assigned books. There are two essays per book test. Other than that, the regular tests and the rest of the book tests are multiple choice.
I never thought I would like history till I had Dr. Hagan, makes history very intresting I didnt want to miss a day BUT her test our really tough, take good notes and remember dates and read read read!
Dr Hagan is funny and nice. Her lectures are entertaining and informative. Over all a great teacher!

Good study guides makes the subject matter interesting
Online course requires listen to a recorded lecture at least four days a week. Helpful study guides tell you what to look for in lecutres and textbook. For fall and spring two extra history novels are required for reading, but only one during the summer. No trick question on tests, and dates hardly ever were tested (except the final). Semi-hard...
* History can be an extremely dry subject and this professor brings it to life, ensuring retention. Thank you!
this is the best professor you will ever find. her classes are interesting and very fun. she can make the most boring subject entertaining. i have never learned so much from a teacher and i recommend her to anyone.
She is truly the best teacher at the college ? it?s a shame that she doesn?t teach other subjects. I?d listen to her lectures just for fun ? in fact, I have. She REALLY knows how to bring history ALIVE ? listening to her lectures is like taking a leisurely guided tour through history. It?s lots of reading, but it?s really INTERESTING!
awesome
Hilarious and thorough professor
She really enjoys teaching history which made the class very enjoyable. I took her in the summer, so the classes were long, but she managed to keep my interest and make the class fun. Easy A if you study! Highly recommend Hagan for this class!
Took for an interim course so class M-Th from 8-12 but only for 3 weeks. She made history very interesting; she definitely adds in her own spark to the subject. Gets very into her teaching and adds in lots of lesser-known details. Definitely enjoyed her class. Fun and approachable professor.
I took this class just because. At the time I was unsure on my major. I did poorly because I didn't apply myself. I did pass though. She is an excellent teacher and her interaction via power points and videos are good. I love history so I would retake this class with her in a heartbeat!
She made history interesting& fun, and I'm not someone who likes history. You will take a lot of notes but tests are fairly easy if you study. Great class, she gets right to the point but keeps it interesting, highly recommend!
I also had Dr. Hagan for 1302. She is an amazing professor even with online classes. It is amazing how she can make history fun even through a computer screen. This is a class that you truly get out what you put in. If you give an "A" effort, you will receive an "A".
Hagan is the best History professor at VC. I took 1301 and 1302 during the same semester and it was the easiest thing I have ever done. You just turn on the lecture and listen to it for an hour. There were only four tests and nothing else. No quizzes, busy work, homework, NOTHING. She is very good at what she does and NO TEXTBOOK REQUIRED!
Dr. Hagan makes history extremely interesting and fun. She definitely expanded my knowledge of American History in an entertaining way. Although the class was typically exciting, there were many required readings which weren't quite as exciting; however did help grasp the topics. I would definitely recommend Dr. Hagan to my piers!
Dr. Hagan was am excellent professor!!
This was the second online class of hers I've taken she's got a great system set up with lectures and tests. There are 2-3 books you read and a test regarding those. We had a critical thought section which was something all the classes are adding this semester. Most of the lectures are about an hour long but if you take notes you will do well.
I've taken her for 1301 (16 wk.), 1302 (8 wk.) , and 2301 (4 wk.). Her class is not easy. BUT her lectures are very interesting, she's fun, clearly is passionate about history, and she's a great professor! Take good notes, do NOT wait until last minute to do lectures, fill out the study guide, listen, & you'll do great!
Makes learning history fun! She also gives open note bonus questions after each exam! Take good notes, read the material and you will do great.
Online class is mainly watching lectures and quizzes with a few period books being tested over as well. No actual textbook. Lectures are funny and if you take notes you will do well on the exam. She provides a study guide to give direction on what to focus on during lectures as well.
Seemed easy but test was not
She's a good teacher and is really excited to do her lectures. Sometimes she can get carried away but most lectures were interesting. Definitely recommend using the written lectures when studying for tests. Her tests are fairly easy if you do that to prepare. She wants her students to pass and gives opportunities to earn extra points.
Prof Hagan is very passionate and very detailed oriented. She will answer any question you have and will not hesitate to take time after class to answer or talk about any questions you have or the lessons she gives.
BEST INSTRUCTOR EVER. Hands down. Makes learning history fun, entertaining, and exciting! She offers lecture notes on occasion, games to help you study, lets you use notes on the test, bonus points! It's hard to fail this class. Taking notes is essential! If you're willing to put in the work, you'll do just fine. Taking her again for History1302!
I took the fast track classes for 1301 and 02. No book required which saves money. She does assign novels to read which there are tests to take over. Her lectures are powerpoints, pretty interesting, some are long though. If you take notes from the lectures and go over them you will pass the exams. She gives a chance for bonus pts after exams.
AWESOME PROFESSOR
Hagan is simply amazing! She goes the extra mile to help you! She had her own website that she puts study guides on and has created memorizations games that help you see if you are retaining information. Also she gives bonus on exams . Her lectures may be long but totally enjoyable and worth it. If your needing to take history 1301 or 1302 I definitely recommend her!
She has great lectures and she is enthusiastic about the subject. If you miss a class her online lectures are just as good. If you take notes and participate in lectures/discussion you should at least make a B. Her test are not hard or tricky.
What more can I say about Hagan other than "AWESOME". Arguably one of the best instructors by far on campus! Took her for 1301 and 1302 because she's that good at lectures. It's not an "easy A" kind of class - there is work and reading involved! Just show up, pay attention, and take good notes.
Dr Hagan is the best history professor at VC. She makes history fun and exciting. Just take good notes and study. Her exams are not bad.
Online July session: Only had to read one interesting book (no textbook). 4 tests total. 4th test is the final and partially cumulative. Her lectures online are FANTASTIC, you can tell she loves her topics, but no print outs. If you are actively listening/taking notes, you'll get an A in the class. No paper for our semester. DO NOT FALL BEHIND!!
I took Hagan during the summer for US History 1302 as an online course. She is very knowledgeable about the subject, and her lectures were entertaining. Her exams were straightforward and there was only one book required for the class(No Textbook). She always responds to emails very quickly, and overall seemed to be very skilled at her job.
she doesn't require you to show up to class. her lectures are all online.
Lectures with enthusiasm. 3 Exams. 2 Book Exams. and personal responsibility project. Very Very Easy.
Being my first year of college, I didn't know what to expect. Professor Hagan delivers her lectures with enthusiasm that really hooks you in. She makes history exciting! Lectures usually last the entire class, but it's worth it. Hagan has plenty of study resources, study guides, and a majority of her lectures are online. Take good notes!
Have to read 3 books a semester. She is funny and is always there if you need to talk. Upfront about grading and her expectations. Makes learning history fun.
Makes learning the material very fun and interesting.
I loved her class. I did not care much for history but when I took her class she made it enjoyable. She is very energetic and funny.
She's such an amazing instructor I took her about 2 years ago and I still don't get tired of talking about what I learned in her class. I wish she taught all the subjects I needed. Highly recommend her as a professor.
She has been the best teacher I have had so far. She is really passionate about history. Always responds to emails, and is very helpful if you need help.
I took HIST1301 during the July summer session. It is A LOT of information in a short amount of time, but Dr. Hagan's lectures are amazing. She also provides study guides to help. Three tests, one book test over a novel, and a final - no textbook. You must watch and listen to the lectures and take good notes. If you can't do this you will not pass.
AMAZING!! I was terrified of taking history again after a really bad experience with a really awful professor. Dr Hagan's lectures were more like an audio book instead of a lecture. Thanks for making me love history when I thought it wasn't possible!!
I took Professor Hagar for History 1301 & 1302 as a dual credit Skype class in high school! She rocks at what she does and I never thought I would like history but she changed my mind set!! shes definitely not an easy teacher, but put in the work and youll love her class!
Hagan, honestly deserves an award for her on woman show in story telling and acting. She brings to life the past in an amazing way, not only telling you about the basic concepts you've been hearing all your life, but really puts you into the shows of the people and the mindset of them. TAKE HER. She's one of the best teachers I've ever had.
I took Dr. Hagan for both HIST1301 and 1302. She is an amazing professor. I have found a new love of history after taking her classes. 1302 in the fall consisted of two book tests and three exams over lectures including the final exam. You won't pass if you don't do the work, but it's so interesting that it doesn't feel like work.
Had a lot of fun listening to her lectures. She is a wonderful professor!
I do think Dr. Hagan seems like a good professor and seems interested in what she is teaching HOWEVER she does not respond to messages in Canvas in a timely manner. I am taking her for a summer online course but it is extremely difficult to do when your teacher takes DAYS to respond. I would not recommend taking this course in the summer online.
Professor Hagan is cool. I never thought history was interesting, but I like it with her. Shes a good teacher and a kind person in general.
Dr. Hagan's lectures are wildly entertaining! History was always a subject I avoided anytime I could, but she has sparked my interest with her enthusiasm and delivery of history topics. She is clear, concise and gives great feedback. I wish I could take her class again, or that she would teach another class that I am required to take!
I am taking her again for HIST 1302 because of her amazing lectures. She always kept them so interesting. But she did require we read 2 books. I didn't even read the second book and still made a 70 on the exam. We also had 3 short essays to write. Overall I think she was a great professor.
Professor Hagan had very interesting lectures, but make you are paying attention and taking notes. She goes pretty fast when talking about certain slides on the powerpoints, so you will have to write fast. She has older recordings of the lectures available if you feel like you need to get more information from the powerpoints. She grades fairly.
She is a very talkative professor so be prepared for long lengthy lectures. She does do extra credit so be aware of her Easter eggs she is also a tough grader and her tests are hard unless you studied. There is two essays you have to write on two different books but she does grade heavy on writing assignments.
I took Professor Hagan's summer class online and it was great! It was fast paced, but so long as you do at least one lecture a day you'll be fine. She gives LOTS of extra credit which can save you so look out for her Easter eggs!! (mainly within powerpoint slides, lectures, written lectures, and quiz packets). The book you read is short.
Professor Hagan is AMAZING!! She makes the lectures enjoyable and the information provided is very intriguing! I took both HIST 1301 & HIST 1302 over the summer and would definitely recommend her to anyone needing these courses.
The best professor I have had. Her lectures were incredibly interesting and graded our essays very well. I would 100 percent take her class 50 more times if I could. Definitely a super hard course, but she makes it incredibly interesting.
I took professor Hagan for online HIST1301, I struggled to keep up with her teaching style and found myself confused on what was important to study for exams.
Dr. Hagan is one of the best professors I have taken. She grades fairly and gives many opportunities for extra credit. She is extremely helpful during office hours, and she is passionate about history. Her lectures are easy to follow, and it is decently clear what you will be tested on.
I loved this professor! She had the best lectures. US history is not the most exciting of classes but she made it great. She has fun little extra credit things sprinkled throughout her lecture recordings and notes. She was easy to get in touch. I took a summer course that was very fast pace but it was still very doable while working.
Lots of extra credit if you listen and read all the lectures
Dr. Hagan made history so fun and interesting! She loves what she does and it is evident. I am not one to enjoy history, but she taught in a way that made me excited to learn. Take her class!!!! Super accessible after classes and she is very understanding.
Professor Hagan is one of the best professors I have ever had. She cares about her students and often tells stories about her past that are funny. In addition, there are extra credit points hidden through many of her lectures and her tests are open note. All in all, I highly recommend her as a caring teacher that wants to see her students succeed.
She is the best teacher I have ever had. Entertaining and funny, she completely changed my outlook on history. You have to work hard to get your A. History is not my major, but I enjoyed her class more than any other I have taken at Victoria College.
Professor Hagan is an amazing history teacher. I grew up hating the subject. With her, I learned to appreciate it and even enjoyed her classes. Her lectures are very interesting and focus on cultures and connections between historical events. There are tons of extra credit opportunities. Take advantage of this and pay attention, and you can pass.
This is my first online class, and it took a bit to get the hang of it, but once you get used to reading the lecture and taking notes it is a breeze. A lot of memorization. The lectures are actually interesting and there is only a one or two short essays for each exam. There is also a lot of extra credit. I'm taking her class again next semester.
Prof. Hagan LOVES history and it shows in her lectures. Shes very lecture heavy but its history so thats a given. She makes them interesting and easy to follow. Plus leaves little easter eggs of bonus points throughout which makes it fun! She makes you work for the grades you want but gives you all the material you need to get them
Professor Hagen is the best instructor I've had so far; she's amazing. History typically bores me, but Hagen makes it engaging.
Professor Hagen is the most impressive instructor I've had; she excels at teaching. History rarely interests me, but Professor Hagen's teaching makes it enjoyable.
i would take her again. she makes her lectures fun and shes hilarious. just make sure you read all lectures she posts and take notes and youll be fine.
Great professor.
