How did she ever get to be a professor? She knows nothing about the mechanics of teaching in my opinion. She is the worst professor I ever encountered at CCC. She didn't return papers for really lame reasons. Our class was on their last speech before they ever got the grades on their first one. How can that be helpful? She is the worst ever!

As an fellow educator, I found her teaching methods highly unprofessional. She was 10-20 min late for every workshop class (so I lost 1-1/2 hrs. of instruction), kept us till the end & lectured the entire time. Boring. AVOID HER!!!

Very bad. She was consistently 5 minutes late, sometimes a little later. I only received 2 grades back before the end of the term, but I handed in close to 10 assignments. Very harsh grading, and she doesn't give us our grades back in time to make adjustments to her grading. Do not reccommend. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. This course is a blemish on my GPA.

She was very difficult to please. Expected a lot from her students, which was hard because we had trouble keeping up with the work load. Overal, the class was helpful for the future. FYI: she makes you do 7speeches, rather then the normal 3-4 every other pubspking class asks of the students. Also, we had only 1quiz, which is simple.

Rude, Annoying and not helpful are just a few of her awful qualities. She's boring and not a remotely effective public speaker herself.

Terrible teacher. Every assignment is returned weeks late. Grading is hard and makes no sense. Doesn't give clear directions in assignments and does not explain anything fully. Very disorganized. Yells at students for silly reasons. Can be friendly on rare occasions. Seems feminist. AVOID THIS CLASS AT ALL COSTS.

Oh my god I hated this class. I'm one of those people who always loves teachers just by default, but I couldn't force myself to like her. She's awful, unclear, and just plain rude sometimes. Drop this class if you get her as your teacher. Your GPA will thank you.

SECTis the absolute worst teacher I have ever had. If your the type of person who likes to know how your doing in a class, FORGET IT. This woman is a mess. I took public speaking the year before in high school and received an A. I took her class and received a C. We took a quiz at the end of September, and I didn't get it back until the end of the semester. How are we supposed to know if we are doing poorly? DROP THIS CLASS before you have to deal with this terrible professor.

Professor Hamburg is very unprofessional and has bad interpersonal skills. As for her teaching method, well, I see no method at all. She is generally unorganized, unclear, and has a tendency to make the material more complicated than it needs to be. She is all over the place, and you'll be too if you take her class. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Professor Hamburg will do just about anything to avoid teaching. It takes her 5 minutes (out of a 50 minute class) to take attendance. She'll spend 15 minutes berating someone for forgetting to remove a hat, then talks about how hats and bandanas cause distractions and take away from class time. She's a real class act.

Don't take her if you have another choice. I hate to be so harsh, but she is really all over the place. Late, doesn't hand papers back, goes off on tangents, berates students. Way to make pretty most people's #1 fear worse.

Worst teacher Ive ever had. Most of the class failed the quizes, and recieved Cs or Ds as a final grade with a curve added. Should of been a simple and easy class but she tears apart all your projects and assignments. Very unclear directions, and doesnt hand back your assignments so you don't know youre doing bad until you see your final grade.

This is the worst professor this school has. It's unfathomable to me that she's on the staff. Her assignments and expectations are impossible to interpret. I cannot remember one lecture I took anything away from. The assignment due dates were constantly adjustment and it took weeks and weeks to get graded assignments returned. The worst.

Disappointed CCC isn't correcting this issue. Her curriculum is totally disorganized & she's unsure of her own grading criteria. Before her class, I had only 1 B out of 16 A's (& the course was A&PII). She doesn't give grades back, so your final grade is a total mystery until she decides to post it (two weeks after class ends)! Avoid at all costs!

Im sure she is a nice women outside of the classroom but she is very strict on her grading and will tear your papers apart like never before, Also she doesnt hand back assignments so your final grade will be a surprise, get a 78/79 in the class be prepared to recieve a C she won't round your final grade up. If you can aviod this professor do it.

Wanted to drop the class 10/24/17, was told I'd still fail. I later find out I WOULD HAVE RECEIVED A (W) and NOT an F (as I trusted in her "professional guidance"). I'm now fighting for an N/A to keep FA because I did reach out to higher ups late, but I was pushed to do so. Out of appx 25 students, 11 students were left; what does that say, CCC?

Your final grade is a mystery. I had to go home and self taught myself the concepts. I received all As on all of my assignments except for papers she never handed back because she was always behind on grading. I had to do my final presentation on the very last day of the semester, on chapters she literally taught (in brief) the week prior.

Professor Hamburg was a kind professor, however, she was very disorganized with her lesson plan. We were alway behind on the chapters, we would spend several weeks on the first few chapters and less than a class on the last few chapters (Chapters which I was assigned to write an applied project paper and presentation on).

No clear instructions on speeches or any other assignment. Rude to students. All over the place when teaching. Difficult to follow. Dont take this class.

Do not take this professor. She did not teach us anything about public speaking. It felt like a class on how to write a speech instead of giving one. She would spend 40 mins re teaching what we learned last class and the last 10 min actually teach . Spends forever grading . Still not sure what I got on all my assignments and semester is over.

Be prepare for a whole class of lecture and being confused the entire time that youre there. When she gives assignments, she never gives clear instructions and then grades you harshly on it. But before that be prepared for the long, long, long wait before you get any graded papers back. Youre grade is up in the air till end of semester. BEWARE.

On top of being the hardest grader ever, she is the most disorganized professor. She comes into class late daily, by 5-15 minutes. She always forgets papers she needs, going back to her office for another five minutes during class. Furthermore, whatever class time left, is wasted of reviewing the past class. I would never recommend her to anyone.

What a waste of a class and a teacher. Absolutely horrible, late to most classes, term over and no grade posted, rude to students, points taken off for ridiculous things like bathroom breaks during class. Rubrics don't make sense and she's not on Canvas. I learned nothing because she didn't teach. Three chapters attempted in one semester.

I had Karen in 2019 for my Fall semester, she was the absolute worst I have ever dealt with and I wish I knew sooner. She is incredibly difficult to talk to and grades VERY harshly over the smallest things. She makes things a lot more difficult than it needs to be, PLEASE switch to a different professor if you have her.

We have been waiting since yesterday December 19 for a final exam and its due on December 23 and she still has not posted the exam. She hasnt graded anything in her book and shes just super slow at everything for this class. If i could give her a zero I would but it would not let me. Never take this class do the other public speaking class

This class was nightmare to take. The professor was constantly unavailable to respond to emails and did no work for the class up until December, when our first speech was due. We were expected to do a semester's worth of work in three weeks. I would not recommend this professor to anyone who wants to earn a decent grade.

Professor Hamburg was very disorganized. She could not stay on track during her lectures. Her grading system is very confusing as well. It took her months just to grade one quiz. I definitely would NOT take her course.

She cares and wants her students to do good but she is unorganized and in over her head. She had no assignments the first 1/2 of class and then shoved everything in leaving us with 3 long projects to complete in less than 10 days. I took public speaking online with another professor and didn't make it. I was hoping to have a better experience in person, I was mistaken. She takes forever to grade. She is super confusing and very unorganized. Be prepared to sit through long lectures sprinkled with tons of confusion. I can't stress the word confused enough.

This class was the worse class Ive taken at Camden County College. Shes absolutely horrible, She waited till finals week to give us 4 essay projects that we were forced to go to the school even tho we didnt have class to turn them in on finals week. She shows up late everyday. She questions everything you do even with a approved absent note.

This professor is absolutely horrible it took 1/2 the semester for one speech and expects us to do 3 more speech’s in the rest. She doesn’t teach half the time all she does is preach her moral bullshit! Do not take this class!

She cares deeply about others and will answer any questions you have. However, she is VERY unorganized, does not post grades on canvas, lectures on one topic for way too long, does not give clear assignment criteria, and has now waited until the final few classes to assign 4 in-depth assignments that should have been spread out over the semester.

I remember I had to present my final speech twice in the same week because the projector didn't work and she said it was fine. After my speech was over she told me I'd have to do it again next class because she really wanted to see my slides even though I printed them for her. Just know it's going to be rough.

This professor is extremely disorganized and a habitual procrastinator who lacks communication skills. We were never given the courtesy of a grade through the semester. She doesn't use Canvas. Assigned 3 major items on the last week of the semester. Ironically, for a Interpersonal Communications instructor, she fails miserably at communicating.

This professor is so unorganized. The only grades in Canvas are the quiz that grade automatically. Everything else she does not grade and have you guessing your grade until the end. She kept extending due dates for projects because she did not grade the previous ones. I would not recommend taking her class if you have the choice.

First, i'll start out by saying my entire class had band together to protest the entire structure of the course. I have no idea what's happening here but it is not good. The irony of being a communications professor while your entire class becomes close because you are the opposite of that... is... well, art.

This is the most pointless class I've ever taken in my life. Her teaching style lacked clarity, making it challenging to follow the random videos and news articles she posted. Assignments were vague, and feedback provided no guidance for improvement. Overall, this is the communication class that makes you want to never communicate again.

Professor Hamburg's class was a disorganized mess. Vague assignments, unhelpful feedback, and grading delays made this a frustrating experience. However, using Unstuck AI alongside the textbook helped me stay on track.

Honestly, I do not recommend. She is very rude. Every class she argues with at least one person. Acts like they are dumb for asking a question. She personally told me my work was a "waste of her time". She has no shame and will pick a fight over anything. It's a hostile environment that makes students not want to come to class.

Not clear on what she wants, doesn't reach out to you, won't get your speech's back on time and when she does only have a couple days to work on them. I've genuinely never had a worse teacher than her. She's rude and will degrade you in front of the entire class.None of her assignments are planned on time. She doesn't do any physical activities to get the class comfortable with one another. She's a terrible speaker herself.Her instructions are very unclear and she doesn't give clear explanations.

by far the worst class I have ever taken in college.i attended every class, completed every assignment and still unclear on how I failed my first speech.1 day until final grades are due with 1of5 have been graded.scholarly grading standards with very little scholarly teaching from a Disorganized and flustered teacher who's hard of hearing.

For our first outline we had to do for her class, I wrote in paragraph form thinking it was fine. The day I handed it to her; she looked for a few seconds and told me it wasn't up to her standards. She then gave me practically no time to fix it, and I was then barred from even doing the speech. That was 25% of my grade I wasn't allowed to attempt.
