She's Hilarious and Great Women, She's makes the class so fun and entertaining. If you study her guides for each test you will do great. Her class activities are really entertaining, You learn a lot!
all you need to do to get an A is study the multiple choice from the testbank in the lab..(thats where she gets her questions from)and do well in the fun projects...she may scare you the first day of class but she slacks off by the middle of the semester...get on her good side..an A for sure..
This teacher is great...she's real nice and motivational...Take her at 7am....yes 7 am...and i guarantee youll have a bird course on your hands....She's almost always late!
This teacher was constantly unprepared for class and her true inabilaty to teach was shown when the computer was down and she had no power point to read from. The class if full of pointless work and was basically a waste of time

This class was one of the easiest buisness classes i have taken. The test are not very difficult and she is not a very tough grader. She is one of the best teachers i have had at this school
DR. HAWKINS WAS A VERY FAIR TEACHER. SHE GRADED FAIRLY AND SHE TAUGHT VERY CLEARLY FOR US TO UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING FOR THE TEST WHICH THEY WERE VERY EASY TO PASS! I LOVE THIS CLASS VERY MUCH AND I WISH HER THE BEST IN THE FUTURE!
This class was okay. The lectures were kind of lame. She made us do a group project where we had to make a company and market a product to the class. We goofed off and she made fools of us. Overall, she was very fair and hertests weren't too bad.

This is a pretty boring class, so I barely went. But attendance counts, so go! She reads off powerpoints all day & gives study guides for 4 multiple choice tests, with a makeup. You also have to do an article review & a group project where you create a product. I'm getting a C cuz I didn't study AT ALL, so with a little effort you can get a B or A.
horrible teacher ever. she does not teach at all, tests have nothing to do with review sheets. multiple choice test questions straight from lab questions. bad teacher, but she is the only one for principles of business in the morning.

gives a slight review. doesnt seem like she knows what shes talking about. most of her lectures consists of the stories of her son. at the end of the term she gives one big project which pretty much saves everyones grade. i had fun in her class but her tests still make you nervous. also very easy to impress.
AWESOME TEACHER
She's ok, she comes off hard at first but she is easy. there are four test and she gives u a review for each and the test are straight from the lab question... but i suggest u don't do all the lab question because there are 200 for each chapter so just skip to the one that is on the review and you'll be fine. there are 50 question on the test.
I just started Business Administration and this is my first class of the day. i love this lady she is very informative but is able to do so along with keeping the class attentive. So far the work load is light which is a +++. I strongly recommend this teacher.
Comes off hard at first but really slack. Never seems ready 4 class but its cool cause shell put videos. Lets the computer do most of teaching. Work isnt hard, group projects were the hardest and most time consuming of the class and shes a fair grader. Review sheet for every exam. Final isnt cumulative. Take her!
Boring!!!!!!! without the computer she is completely lost. There are 4 test, a couple of group projects.. overall easy, but she has not idea what she is talking about, so if you really want to learn don't take her.
Dr. Hawkin is a nice professor, she's respectful. When it comes to the class she talks very little about the subject and shows many videos that are informative to the chapters. There are 4 tests which are okay if you study in the lab. Then there are two group projects which are fun. I'd recommend her if you like what I just stated.

Easy class..don't need text, just go online and print chapter summaries and you'll pass the test...projects are easy and fun...take this class and u'll get an A or B easily
I took this professor because of this page but I did not like her at all. She has no interest for her students and does not prepare you well for tests, u have to read yourself. She does not come prepared to class and reads off the book. Also she gets the test questions for a bank of 400 questions per chapter on the business lab. No homework, does n
She doesn't teach. She plays a lot of videos and does animated slideshows of the chapters. She has been teaching for a long time, however, she still has to read from a book to teach. That is when she actually speaks about the subject. Her tests aren't very easy. Reading the textbook is a must. She has 4 tests, and a group project.
the worst teacher I've had so far
ive read everyones comments regarding this teacher and i must admit, you guys are right on. i agree, its an easy class so far. study the text book and the chapter that was cover in the days class. ive taken 2 tests so far and passed with a "b" then an "a" all i did was memorize the side notes on the books with more or less high lights the chapter.
Very willing to help but won't stand for foolishness. The tests are straight from the book so invest more time in reading the book than taking notes. Listen to what she says, she explains the concepts well. 4 tests & 2 group projects (really help if your tests are low). Pretty easy. Moderate effort.

Easy class for sure (I think just about EVERYONE in my class got A's for final grade..), but if you are actually interested in learning something, do NOT choose her! She basically let us watch videos, told random stories, then we had to go home and read the book to learn. Yeah, just no.
Amazing teacher.. i didnt study for the first test and totally bombed. just minimum effort on the second thru fourth test and i got a B. it was awesome.. anbd the final project is super cool =)
She's useless. This class is a joke, i was so excited at first and then totally disappointed. She doesn't teach much, all she does is sow videos. If you're looking for a slacking class, THIS IS IT.

nice person, but her tests are hard! you practically have to do all the work by yourself. you have to study ALOT for her test, and even if you study its not that easy.
I was really disappointed when i had to drop the class. She wasn't helpful..and the whole class is based on her powerpoint she leaves the class and comes back when its done, Exams are pretty hard since you basically have to learn the material on your own if you dont buy the textbook your stuck like chuck..Don't recommend !
Most of the testimonies explain here are true ?professor? Karen Hawkins is product of the worse crises in the Miami ? Dade College community. Mrs. Hawkins is very careless, flaky, and inconsiderate with students if any administrator sees the message below take advice.
Do not take this teacher. She is lazy and inconsiderate of her students. She reads straight from the textbook and doesn't seem to know much about business. Most of the time she shows a power point from the textbook's website for a chapter and leaves in the middle of it. By far one of the worst professors I have had at dade.

She tells a lot of personal stories about herself. uses nothing but powerpoints to teach, just reads from her notes she has typed up. theres no point in coming to class if u just follow the syllabus and study at home. you learn nothing in class except when the test will be. the powerpoints for class can be found on angel when u do your online quizs

You have to register online in order to submit your quizzes. Going to class won't help you on the tests. If you read the book or listen to all the power points and video classes offered online the test will be easy. There is a product development project due at the end of the semester but nothing to panic.
Do Not take this professor, she can not teach! She is by far the worst professor I have ever had. She makes the class teach for her n uses powerpoints n videos that dont even appear on the tests. Slackest teacher ever!! As long as you do the online reviews and quizes (which are easy) you should get an A on every exam. Class is interesting but you can sleep through the whole thing and still pass easily. Don't buy the textbook, you wont use it. My project sucked but I still got a A. If you can't pass her class you shouldn;t be in college.

I had an online course with this teacher. 1)takes her at least three days to reply on timely matters 2)she seems to not care about the students, just purely washed up and jaded 3) had 2 important assingments due but did not have the open for access online!! 4) changed the dates of the last exam, did not & did not email or notify us!

DO NOT take this teacher if you want to learn something about anything. She is lazy and the only thing she is consistent on is being late to class. You don't have to go to class to learn, but you have to go to class or she will drop you. She likes to make her class do jumping jacks during class! When you know she doesn't do any exercise!DONT TAKE!

Took her online she is amazing and responds to emails very fast. She gives lots of homework and little points for it. Four test midterm and final are proctored identical to the practice test two for midterm and four for final.Easy A make sure study promblems are similar but never the same.
Bad teacher. Doesn't teach anything, but she does talk about her life story. If attendance wasn't mandatory, i wouldn't even go to class, and just show up on test dates. You'll be teaching yourself if you take her. Luckily its an easy class. Good luck.
The class was easy but there is no guidance the professor does not respond to your emails, or the group discussion board. she also takes 30-45 days to grade exams. I had her for GEB1011 & MAN2021 online although i received an A on both, it wasn't cake considering it was more about memorizing exact sentences than knowing key terms and concepts.
Easy class, quizzes are question straight from the book. Exams are questions from the quizzes. She does take a long time to respond, but overall without trying you will end up with a B
Attendance is mandatory. Usually don't take about Business. you have 4 test, and online modules. Plus a final group presentation. Just keep up to date on modules and study the review she sends you. Easy class if you put in the time. You wont dread going to the class. She makes it interesting.

As long as you show up to class, do the online hw & quizzes, and show up for the in class exams, you shouldn't get anything lower than a B. She is awesome and talks about interesting stuff that relates to the curriculum. I'd love to have her again!

I took this class on summer A. She gives LOTS of homework. 17 quizzes (7 questions each), four test (50 questions. Drops the lowest) and a proctor final. Also, you have 17 research assignments, two discussions and two video assignments. Quizzes and test questions are straight from the book, which you have to memorize.
This class is easy! There is just SOOO much busy work. All test are open book except the midterm which is proctored. There is easier professors but like i said before, the class is not hard just a lot of work.

Took this professor online only because her reviews seemed fair. My experience alongside my fellow classmates were the total opposite. Doesn't respond to emails in a timely manner, timing on tests and quizzes are extremely short with ridiculously long questions. Doesn't give extra credit assignments.
AVOID TEACHER AT ALL COST. I don't know how she has such good reviews, this class was extremely frustrating, she does not answer emails, the test are timed so unjustly, everything about this class was a nightmare. All my classmates feel the same way. Do yourself a favor and find another teacher.
Took this class online for Summer A. Definitely one of the easiest classes I have ever taken. At first glance the syllabus may look overwhelming with all the assignments and what not, but once you start doing it you realize it really isn't much at all. Just log in every week and knock some assignments out. Book is mandatory for online.
First day of class seems like you're really going to learn something. She uses the phrase "sampler class" and I was really excited. Now the semester is almost over and I truly haven't learned a thing. Theres 2 online quizzes due A WEEK. Plus 4 major chapter exams. She honestly doesn't teach a thing, just show videos that dont pertain to section.
Don't take her. She falls asleep in class starts talking about one then goes to another and finally ends up talking about something that happened to her years ago. Never response to emails when you need help she refers you to the customer service number -_-' and she is just a mess sorry not sorry
She isn't the best professor at MDC. She doesn't show up to class sometimes, unexpectedly that is, she hasn't taught much, and she jokes for half the class time length. The class is easy, but prepare to learn on your own.
Get the book and study off of that because she barely teaches. She's not very knowledgeable about her subject, e.g. reads off the book the few times she give lectures and isn't sure of answers when asked questions. She gives 3 tests (+a final), along with a group project. The tests are easy though if you read the book. Has a lot of online homework.
do not take this professor ever. She doesn't explain anything. Most of the class was given for us, the student, based on the online PowerPoints. If you ask for help she will take 10 points out of your grade or will not answer. The reviews are longs and prepare to memorize something else, nothing you memorize from the review will appear in the exam
Although she is nice and funny, you will have to study by yourself. Going to class is a lost time.
Online class is terrible. No feedback on how you are doing. You read a 20 page chapter and take 4 quizzes (4 are due in about a week). the questions on the quizzes dont make sense and they are bait and switch. Nothing to learn from here. You wont know which questions you got wrong because she wont tell you. Professor non existant!
This professor gives 4 exams overall, each test based on 5 chapters and does not provide a study guide. She doesnt teach anything, instead talks about her personal life. If you dont study hardcore, you WILL fail.

Worst class this semester! She doesnt lecture and she isnt organized at all instead she talks a lot about her self and always finds a way to get off topic. I feel like I took an online class that requierd to go in person and listen to this professor personal problems. Seriously i self taught myself this whole course.
If you're taking her classes for a mini term get ready to do lots of work in a short period of time. She doesn't necessarily go in order of the book. To be fair she changes the grade of assignment due dates to give a chance for the students to complete it. If you send her an e-mail be ready to wait a while for her to reply.
Super easy professor, she does use mindtap but over all her homeworks and quizzes are super easy. really recommend.

Participation 5%, Discussion 8%, MGH Connect Activities 8e 18%, MGH Connect Quizzes 8e 18% Midterm Exams (Proctored) 17%, Final Project 17%, Final Exam (Not proctored) 17% Uses Mindtap, lets the course open from day 1. Lots of work, but straight forward. Don't procrastinate.
Don't take if you depend on communication. I'm all for doing online classes without ever talking to the teacher but she was 100% not reachable. Posted the final exam a week late and one day before it was due and didn't respond to a single email from anyone in our class. Did not open hw so that we could do it all without paying $$$. Def don't take.
She is a really good grader. I got a 100% on all discussions and the final project. The class has quite a bit of work but as long as you do it, you will be fine. The only time that she says anything is when you email her. This being said, at the end of the semester she disappeared and opened the final a day before it was due with no explanation.
Would never ever take this professor again. Professors are always here to help. I found her to be helpless. It was an online, and I understood that I had to be on my own. Professor is NOT reachable. Even if you have a question or a problem, you just have to suffer. Not responding to emails, messages through Canvas. DO NOT take her.
