she just made this course so much harder than ever before....
She made mideterm really hard
She likes to teach in a harder way and always way after the schedule. Also strange questions in Midterm and not going to curve. Please try to avoid this prof
Never curve and difficult tests
The test is way harder than the class
test very hard, much harder than lecture, class avg for midterm is just above 50
The test is very heavy and when I finished the test, I felt like I didn't review the test... I answered the question with full correct steps and answer, but forgot the conclusion, she cut the marks in half! She is the most tough grader I have ever seen in my life, no kidding. I just dropped the STA248 of winter, b/c I don't want to destroy my GPA.
Although being a fairly good professor, she seems to take everything personally (ex: people talking in class, not going to office hours etc..) and reacts passive aggressively. Not someone I feel comfortable going for extra help to.
Aggressive, strict and mean. She seems assuming we should know everything she taught, I'd rather ask my friends or Google the Internet for help instead of going to her office hours again. She is the only available course instructor, I have no choice and I am unhappy. If you have a choice, don't take her course.
I think she is a good prof. Although the midterm seems to be hard, the questions are related to what she taught in class
The level of teaching and the test are quite different. Have no idea why did she put such stresses on us.
Her explanations are mediocre at best. If you ask her for help she will make you guess until you guess right. The grading scheme is ridiculous to the point where having all the right answers and most explanations can still put you below A-. Also, the textbook is riddled with mistakes.
Assignments are easy but tests are hard... You need to study really hard.
The final exam was tricky and heavy, I don't have time to check back! This is the most heaviest exam I've ever written! She totally changed this entry level course!
She is a GPA killer for sure . In her final exam, she gives us twelve SUPER LONG questions, which contain at least three parts. And most of them are NOT COVER in lectures. She just simply gives all materials on textbook without a systematic explanation and really impatient.
1. Active on piazza and answers all questions (unlike the CSC207 profs this year) 2. Easy to pass, I flunked the final and a midterm but will still pass with no problem because I did well on the 3 assignments, which we were given a generous amount of time to do. 3. Tests you on what was actually taught in class (unlike MAT223 this year)
Her tests are really hard. Marks are taken off for defining variables in any way that's not the exact style she wants. Questions are often confusing and abstract
Hear a lot of people say she's a hard marker, etc, but I really enjoyed her as a prof! Classes were pretty quick, but the examples were so so useful in studying. Assignments and midterms adequately tested your knowledge I felt, if a bit fast-paced. Looking forward to 248 with her.
Her lectures are so boring and heavy... typical asian teaching style, really don't like that.
She will never tell you when solving problems which procedures you have to follow beforehand and will punish you severely in the tests if you don't know those "rules". Even if you thought you've a strong foundation (A+ in STA247 from a different prof) and learned very hard for the test you are still very likely to get a 60 in her test.
Nah, avoid this woman if you can, she is not only a real tough grader but she also don't test what you read... and her office hour attitude is awful, it feels like I own her mony.
Quick pace, but she was readily available online/in-person to help. Every lecture, there was time to actually work through problems to help solidify our understanding. Tests/assignments were very fair. There are a ton of part marks to be earned; it's not just dependent on correctness. You gotta put in the work, but the resources are all there.
Karen is by far the worst lecturer I have had. I'm thankful to her for only one thing, the fact that I now appreciate all of my other lecturers a lot more. Her STA 248 final was way too lengthy and tough. She had to increase everyone's mark by 10%. Its like she has a personal agenda to make university hell for all of her students.
she is easy approaching. I don't understand why she is not welcomed here. she can remember every students' face and name who always attend her class and give out feedback. I was afraid of asking questions but once she sensed my nervous and she walked towards me to ask if I have some doubt on the lecture. I was touched. exam is EXTREMELY DIFFICULT.
Her teaching is not bad, but her final test is very heavy, if you want to get a fine grade on her class, try not to skip classes, and make sure you understand all the materials and practice questions on the slides
She did not like test what you learnt! It felt like being teased, I got frustrated. If she was not the only available instructor, I would not took her lecture for sure!
I don't really understand why everyone is so hard on her. Of all the profs I've had, she is one of the better ones. Approachable, available outside of class on the discussion forum and during office hours. Her lectures are detailed and slides are comprehensive. Exams and tests are really hard, but this is a hard course. You need to work for it.
Her lectures are not enough for the tests, she likes to surprise you and make you feel dumb, I don't know why she is the only teacher for hundreds of student, another professor should be added.
By far the most toxic prof I ever had. Period. But I don't think that warrant a bad rating. Unlike other math/stats profs, she has a clear train of thoughts and teaches at a reasonable speed, but her comments on student's actions are just way too condescending. Student life is tough, no need to spray salt on the wounds.
Don't help much, usually tells you to figure simple stuff out yourself
A really good prof who knows how to teach.
hard exam and tests
she is a great prof and explains really well. If you go to every lecture and pay attention, the course is not that bad. Final exam is pretty difficult tho.
Textbook was not needed, so there's a money saver. You didn't have to go to class, but it is in your best interest. As long as you were honest with yourself when watching the homework videos and were listening during lecture it should be smooth sailing. It's a university class so you'll have to try, but if you give it some effort you're fine.
Hated her in the beginning but as term progressed, she really was a good prof. Office hours are extremely helpful. She's very responsive on course forum and gives explains answers to textbook questions. Tough course but stick by her and you'll get through.
Hard exam. That's the first thing she told us during lecture. Other, than that, it's a straightforward process of going to class, listening, doing homework. Not too hard, but make sure your ready for tests and the exam.
STA220 content is super easy and the course is more like an introduction of STA course which means its content will not step too deep. However, this Prof gives lots of tricks on the test questions by giving you paragraph by paragraph reading and changes one or two keywords. Playing tricks by wording to students is not a respective behavior.
I think she has organized slides and provides sufficient exercises during class. Even provided snack (and puppy) during the review session :)
Not a great teacher. Granted, it was the summer semester, but it seemed she didn't care we were going twice as fast and still insisted we needed to be as well versed in everything as people in the regular term. So a lot of the stuff was too complicated and frustrating. I.e compute expected value of Z^2. That's not something u can learn in a month.
Why is she the only instructor for STA247(450 students!). And I have to take hers STA248 in winter, FML!
Super vague and trick midterm questions. Doesn't explain distributions properly and just does the same kind of problems the whole lecture.
During her midterm, I want to put my finger through my eye, into my brain and swirl it around. My heart shattered into pieces when I learnt that she is the only prof for STA248 next year.
Claims to try to give questions with "context", but "context" basically means to read her mind. The questions given are always vague and leaves room for interpretation(not in a way that stats can be interpreted) but structurally and grammatically. Doesn't allow any room for discussion, basically tells you why she is right when explaining
Tough midterm test and final. Extreme hard marker, basically impossible to get an 80+ no matter how hard you try. If you on in her section, plz switch out ASAP.
the final was so hard. I understood the calculation and did well in midterm which was made by another prof, but it seemed that the calculation part had nothing to do with the final. I was doubting that I entered the wrong room when I took the final.
There is no need for people like her in this world.
going to lecture would make your mark lower because she never teach the important material and give you vague defination. the only way to pass the course is youtube letcures.
this prof likes to make fun of students. her problem sets are always vague; when you ask for clarification, she always answer you in the way that sound like she is talking to idiot. her answer is also vague and useless.
She has a personal agenda to make university hell for all of her students.
Had her for STA247 and my grades suffered a lot. Questions sometimes vague, be prepared to ask for clarifications. But changed my mind this semester's STA248, I think she is on the better end in terms of teaching qualities, one of the more responsible profs I've seen at uoft, which means she also has a lot of expectations for her students as pro's.
SKIP CLASS? that's the only way to pass. Her lecture are vague and there is no use of going
This professor decimated any remaining passion I (or anyone I know) had left for probability and statistics. If the course had any material other than subjective word problems with trick answers that you might find in the back of a newspaper, it might spark some passion in students for the subject area or provide some utility.
The professors exam and assignment are totally different from what she taught in the lectures. I studied hard and had good understanding to what she said in the lecture, and did most suggested problems but still say like an idiot in the exam doubting whether Im in the right room.
Before this class I was going to do a stats minor but this class just killed my interest in stats. If your answers on test aren't the exact same as how she teaches she gives a 0, not even part marks. Last stats class I'll ever take.
This was the worst prof Ive ever had in my entire life
Very condescending. Unclear. Unapproachable. Extremely boring. Her teaching methods do not work and she should know that.
She's your worst nightmare
Go to her Class and You will definitely get a good mark. No curve.
Hardly tested what you learnt on the lectures. I think she hates student... Don't take her course unless you really have to.
Really hard exams...
Tell me who thought it was a good idea to invent the "which of the statements below are correct" format. Tests are not a fair assessment of comprehension since wording is designed to induce error and confusion. Great class to take if you're doing a one class semester. Otherwise, good luck.
Went in to her office to ask questions, and she answers, I taught that in class, and then went on to the next person, useless.
Really great. Lectures were nice and she explained concepts well. She's also has the quickest replies on piazza, and her annotated slides saved my life
A little surprised she's rated so low. Honestly she explained things quite well and was a pretty decent prof. I do agree that the testing format is not ideal and should be changed, but other than that I had a pretty good experience with her as a professor.
I was a little worried after seeing her ratings on here but she honestly wasn't that bad. Granted, most of the actual "teaching" in this course was from the online videos so all she did was clarify concepts and walkthrough practice problems. But she actually explained concepts pretty well and was very approachable
Karen as a scholar she definitely masters her field of study. Her logic is clear, and she is always able to answer any question quickly. But I honestly don't think she succeeds as a professor. She talks/writes so fast in class for every topic/problem, where we might need some time to understand, which leads to longer review time at home.
Never take her course again!! She doesn't explain the homework clearly and deduct all the marks even I have done the coding part. If you are a STA student, do take other 200-level stats course!!! The average for this 200-level class is incredible low, totally kill my interest of statistics
Absolutely horrible professor. Unfriendly and grades very hard. Is hard to approach and looks at you condescendingly. Would never take her course again. Try to avoid her at all costs, you will not enjoy the course
bad prof that really does not care about her students or their education. despite covid19 and real issues, she was really rude and condescending about any help people asked for and showed no care. And has a really unhelpful method of grading assignments where only certain questions are marked. dont take her if you want to actually learn or do well.
Dishonest and untruthful to say the least. She constantly overestimates the difficulty of and time needed for her assignments and tests, and seems to make it her student's problem for her own errors. When I'm presented with a claim that an assignment should take "no more than 3 hours", the last thing I expect is to spend 2 days on it instead.
Absolutely hilarious teacher. States that assignments take 4 hours when she is really just joking and it actually takes 4 days. Does not communicate well with students and has a very condescending tone towards students asking her questions. Would rate a zero if I could. Go for sta237 or sta257 instead. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS.
Pretty fair professor. Her lectures are fine. She actually taught stuff and she knew what she's talking about. Quizzes were not as hard as I expected. If you can understand her lecture and work through all the suggested questions, you will succeed in her class.
Worst Prof. ever had. Just taught at her own pace and didn't care about if the students can follow up. Very unfriendly to students who were new to stats. Heavy workload every week. Can't think of one single reason why she was always the instructor for this course. If you have options, DON'T pick her!
This prof has made me hate statistics and my life. She is terrible at teaching and makes simple concepts sound so confusing. Be ready for endless assignments that are pretty much riddles.
Worst teacher I have ever had! Gives a heavy workload every week. Assignments are hard and she underestimates the time and difficulty of them. She teaches at a very fast pace. Speaks condescendingly to students and is very unfriendly and unhelpful when you ask her questions. Please do not take her course unless you have no other choice!
I know Professor Wong gets a bad rap but she's actually not the worst prof in the stats dept lol. She provides really good slides and is always super active on piazza which you don't get a lot from other profs. Her assignments/tests are pretty hard but honestly if you do the textbook questions they aren't too far off.
Tests are hard especially the mcs. It's funny how the TAs can't even explain her practice final questions.
worst class I've ever taken and one of the worst profs I've ever had. the tests are really hard, you couldn't see previous mc question (on Quercus), short answers required specific answers and took marks away if your answer wasn't exactly the same as the solution. she's not very accessible and doesn't always answer emails. would give 0/5 if I could
What you read in the other reviews is not wrong. This professor has little compassion for students, regularly dismissing concerns even though they "welcome" any emails about those matters. According to them, successful students are an anomaly and a reason to adjust the entire class down. You won't have a choice of profs for this course, good luck.
If you listen to her lectures + do some research on internet sources, you will be fine . I honestly was not good at math and I have never taken STA courses. The MCs can be hard but if you understand the concept part of the materials and then work on the calculations, you will get at least a B+. Good luck.
Prof. Wong was a great lecturer. She explains concepts that may sound very intuitive. Do pay attention to her explanations since they will definitely be tested. Don't let the MCs scare you (they're really reasonable). Do your work, complete the Modules, retake the quizes as much as you could, and an A will come naturally.
There is a lot of work and some of the concepts are quite hard, but Prof. Wong has done a good job explaining them. She is very responsive to questions, although sometimes she can be a little sarcastic when the answer can be easily found in lecture or textbook. Make sure you do the textbook questions and understand the concepts well.
Amazing professor, most caring one I've had in all 3 years of UofT. Just now, I was having trouble compiling my R markdown file at 10:59 PM when the assignment was due at 11PM so I shot her an email. She replied quite literally instantly, and I was able to fix it and submit it on time. This is just one example of something great she's done!
Yes, the tests are hard. Yes, the assignments can be difficult. Yes, there's a lot of homework. But, her lectures are really good. The way she teaches makes it very clear how to proceed with the work. She is also approachable and actually cares for her students. Although the classes may be hard, the professor is great!
Does give a lot of work but makes sure that we understand everything very nicely. Super accommodating and very helpful during office hours.
AVOID AT ALL COST
Worst professor ever
This prof is the decinition of stress. Spending the term with her sta247 course means killing your self because assignments are long and hard and tests are hard as well. She is a tough grader. And here indirect attitude toward student is bad. Like if you send her emails, she wont answer you at all or if she does she wil give you answer in a bad way
She seems nice at first but is extremely condescending to students with questions or even the slightest discontent towards assignments/course policy. Evaluations are also ridiculous. Avoid if at all possible.
I feel like people fail in her class and then come here and leave low reviews. She's a good lecturer and the marking scheme is pretty fair. Tests are hard and long, but you have the other activities to make up for the marks you lose in the tests. She's a good professor. If you're not good at math you shouldn't bother taking the class.
I feel like this course condenses a lot of material in a short time, and the professor makes the tutorial, assignments and exams way harder, due to which students end up hating the course. I would not recommend this course to anyyyone!!
Two things: 1. 247 is a term long course trying to fit in 7 different chapters of material (in 3 months) 2. Karen's online recordings were "so-so" at best. Which made me have to self learn most of the course materials. The final was unfairly difficult, and I wonder why she feels the need to keep the course average low.
I am surprised this womans been teaching this course for many years. This woman is very bad at teaching and also rude to students who are in dire need of help, just like one of the other reviews said, if you aren't good at math, avoid this woman if you can, only the smart students can catch up in time, she can easily turn a B to a C or even a D.
Her lecture videos are great and she makes the material very easy to understand. Only thing I didn't like was the use of discussion board instead of Piazza. I wish she taught STA248 as well sadge.
She is nice and nice handwriting. Very organized lectures :D
She assumes your an expert in math in her garbage lectures. She skips steps when explaining difficult and new concepts, leaving the "normal" students to learn the material on their own. If you have this woman, and your short of exception at the theoretical side of math, good luck cuz it's going to be a long semester.
I hate the discussion boards. Have to do it every week and will be graded. Such a waste of time. 22222222 many words in a single quiz, she can write a paper with that many words.
Need a lot of effort? Yeah. But she explains things very well, unlike many other stat prof in the department.
Karen tries to micromanage how you learn stats that it becomes draining and uninspiring. The only thing difficult is the amount of work she gives, which makes it feel like I'm just grinding this course instead of actually learning. She wouldn't be that bad if she could just take a step back and allow more flexibility for other learning styles
During the week of midterms, she suddenly gave us a big assignment and only leave a week window to complete.
do not take this professor's courses
To be honest, she did a good job in the content of the course, but her quiz was difficult. You need to spend a lot of time on the discussion board every week, and the assignment contains too many questions.
Has lots of homework and the questions are not easy, she just assume we only take her course in one semester. The work we need to do every week roughly equals to the total of rest of 3 courses I took this semester. plz avoid her.
She expects us to know everything and never explains the content. Her lecture slides are hilariously overwhelming and filled with equations. Why the hell is she posting extra 2 hours of pre-recorded lectures in additional to her actual lecture? The quiz and assignments are insanely hard and the content there are not on her lectures or textbook.
She is very nice. Explains the concept well. I agree she designs the course in a manner where her course is equivalent to 1.4 courses. But, if you are here to learn, she will teach you the best.
difficult quizzes
To be honest, she did a good job in the content of the course, but her quiz was extremely difficult. You need to spend a lot of time on the discussion board every week, and the assignment contains too many questions. Other than the weekly lecture, there're extra asynchronous videos to finish.
How come the quizzes are so hard...Makes me hate statistics from now
How come she gave us that hard quizzes. Lots of reading, and you have to do the weekly discussion board. The assignments are really difficult. She is so enthusiastic during the class, but her class is for geniuses only. Rate 1 for her enthusiasm. If I can rate 0, I will probably do that. Avoid her!
She is a really nice lecturer and explain the concepts clearly. Her quizzes and assignments can be difficult if you cannot truly understand the content. A little bit heavy workload for extra video lectures but provides a good connection to sta302. Btw, she replies emails very quickly.
I will rate 0.5 if this system allows it. There are extremely tough quizzes, heavy lectures every week, and unreasonable discussion boards. Avoid Karen if you can unless you want to suffer anxiety and pressure for the whole term and get a curved grade.
Prof. Huynh-Wong was an enthusiastic instructor this term. Her synchronous/recorded lectures were difficult at times to manage for 1 week but she made all the content digestible and taught clearly. Quizzes were difficult but assignments, midterm, and final project were more than fair. Although she's labeled as strict, I found her to be supportive!
Prof Wong is really kind and caring. She took the time to answer questions and was always willing to provide extra support when learning lecture material. However, her classes are super dense and quizzes are hard. On top of regular weekly lectures we had to watch 1 or 2 hours of additional asynchronous lectures). The course was TOUGH but doable.
Karen Wong is the worst professor I have ever seen. She is totally a tricky person. She also has a extremely bad teaching style, with too many stuffs need to learn. Also, she has several versions for a quiz. She tries to let you learn everything from statistic which is totally impossible in a term.
The course is heavy and intensive but having an instructor that goes super fast to cover the content makes it even cruel. She doesn't explain as well as I expected and in fact, I had to teach myself the course. She's not considerate towards us if we need help and she uses sophisticated ways to explain theorems which otherwise are understandable.
Tutorials are a disaster, lectures are all over the place. No clear path or order of material whatsoever. Terrible introductions to new topics. Tutorials are the biggest joke i've ever seen. They are worth marks but either incredibly hard or just copying a TA for an hour. Stay away. Not accommodating for exams or test alternate sittings.
Would not recommend.
Avoid at all costs. Find another prof if there are others. If she is the only one, I would honestly recommend taking STA237 or STA257 instead because you will not learn anything from her.
a class so bad it made me open an account on this website. the class is incredibly simple, the actual topics are very very easy (compared to, for example, mat157/247), but the class is taught horrendously. avoid if you care about rigor. avoid if you don't like the grade breakdown being full of random nonsense (like 5% discussion boards) no.
year long course content crammed into one semester
i enjoyed the way she held her lectures but I kept getting bored during lectures and just not focusing had two assignments through the term discussion boards are marked so get them done during reading week
I open this account to say something about her. I don't know why there are so many bad reviews here. I totally agree that the content is a bit too much for students and she is REALLY a tough grader. But that's just her teaching style. She is really caring and responsible for students, she brought her shiba to exam jam, she cares about students lot
She is a great lecturer, I love her lectures and her very fair exams, problem sets are doable, but very heavy loaded course! She is very funny and caring, and definitely NOT RUDE. So much better than 237 prof selva, I already begin to miss her.
Had a good time even though I'm not interested in studying statistics. There is definitely a lot of material that is covered, but she explains clearly. Study hard for the final!
Difficult course, but amazing prof! Super nice even when I wasn't the most studious and shared interests outside of stats. Wouldn't take course again because of difficulty (failed final & bad midterm but got decent mark because of assignments), but would take a more interesting course with her teaching. I'm just not a stats person :/
Karen's an excellent prof, but her course was very challenging. she really cares about her students and held really good office hours. lectures were very clear and organized. I found that it was a bit too fast at times, which is understandable considering how much content was covered.
Definitely one of the better profs in the stats department. You can tell that she cares about her students and tries her best to break down concepts to the best of her abilities. I find stats to be inherently difficult so being able to teach it is commendable in itself. However, I did not like the R modules and found it to be ineffective
Awful professor
Thought she was a great professor (great at explaining concepts) but a little cold/condescending when you ask questions. This course has been much better organized than STA237 last semester. Enjoyed her lectures a lot
She's very clear on everything. I really liked her slides and was kind of surprised to see her low rating here.
One of the best professors. Genuinely cares about students. Teaching style is doing examples which doesn't work well for me, but the textbook chaps that she gives as reading clears things up. Really good in office hours. Course structure gave many chances for learning and to earn bonus. Assessments are very fair. currently on track for an 80-85%.
Karen was great! She's good at translating stats jargon into plain english, which I found to be super effective for learning the concepts. Assessments were fair but not necessarily easy. However, her practice problems are very good preparation for tests, so do attempt textbook problems and her "mixed bag" problem sets.
This course is much better than STA237 even though the content is arguably harder and it's all because of Karen. She's a very good professor. The exams are fair. I feel like a lot of people don't like her cause she doesn't give free marks for participation and TAs can grade pretty harshly. The course avg is a C+ as well. It's an interesting course.
I don't know why her ratings are so negative - Karen is a great professor who really cares about the content she teaches. Her slides are great and she makes sure to clearly define the learning objectives before every class. I think she gets flack for the way the course is structured (STA238), but she is not the course coordinator.
I'd say the difficulty is on average for a UofT undergrad stats class (basically not a walk in the park but if you put in good effort you can do well). She's good at breaking down concepts into understandable terms. She's willing to answer questions and is easy to reach outside of class time. Would take again!
She singlehandedly saved this course. Lectures are well paced and clear, and she was very responsive on the discussion board. Prepared us very well for the final.
She teaches the content well and posts completed slides. However her lecture examples aren't the best preparation for the quizzes, as they are more difficult. The practice posted for the midterm and final are much more helpful. I wish there was more accurate practice available throughout the semester.
Karen was truly a gem of a professor in STA238. She emphasizes teaching students the "why" and the "how" behind fundamental statistical concepts. Quizzes and test mirror lecture question in format though slightly more difficult. Don't be afraid to ask her questions either, she's super friendly and helpful. Overall highly recommend!
Really great professor that genuinely cares about her students. When I came to her saying I was upset by my midterm grade, she took time out of her day to go over the entire test with me in depth and I ended up doing much better on the final. She also reached out to congratulate me about my final grade.
Excellent prof!
The Dept. of Stat is trying to introduce a half-done system to their students. LearnR model has a technical issues every single day, and this is a problem happend on every student (if you look at the discussion board, you'll see hundreds of complaints about that. It's not fair to make a graded work based on an EXTREMELY UNSTABLE system
Second worst prof I've had in my undergrad experience. She explains the concepts okay, but shes an awful course coordinator. For practice questions she gave us FOUR different books that cover materials differently. For midterm she INVENTED unreasonably difficult questions that only reflected 1/4 of course material. Avoid. Choose any other prof.
The 5 star ratings here are probably her own, shes a mid teacher, but her midterms are too difficult and she straight up ignores student feedback, this is literally a linguistics course and not statistics cuz of the questions she makes. avoid her like the plague, take some other section or in the summer
Karen Wong is not a great professor, nor at structuring a course. She implemented an auto-fail the course if you score
Really bad course coordinator. Couldn't get our quiz grades back to us on time for the final exam. Technical difficulties from LearnR modules are not taken into consideration and no accommodation or flexibility. No piazza, just quercus discussions to which they don't answer most of the questions relating to the course in general. Really bad exams.
for the record, 35% of the class failed the midterm, and she put a fcking 50% autofail on the exam. oh and lets not talk about the fact that she gives us parts from 3 different textbooks, awful coordinator, and a mid lecturer at best.
gets offended when students dont do optional practice as if we here chillin and not juggling 4 other courses. straight up ignores students she doesnt like on discussion board
no. no. no no no no no. 50% autofail final is horrendous. it's tomorrow and i'm already losing every strand of hair due to stress. (i have 2 strands left)
avoid at every cost. if sta237 is an elective drop it. if it's a requirement, see if you can take it at UTM or something. whole course is a massive mess. quite hard midterms, class average in the 50s and if you do not get a 50+ on the final exam you fail the course.
avoid at all costs, cant even return our quizzes on time before finals
we are so cooked guys no one is getting that 50% requirement on exam tomorrow
She makes very very difficult tests. She has 3 different textbooks. Its cooked.
Suffered from psychological distress this entire semester because of her
bro what the heck was that final wtf literally solving puzzles on time limit
Coordinated the worst course I've ever taken at UofT. And that's saying something. Not to mention she put a clause in the syllabus that says if you fail the final, you automatically fail the course and nothing else matters... past classes did NOT have this... and then she made the final crazy difficult.
i tried to give her the benefit of the doubt but she straight up ignores my and other student questions she doesn't like and now she locked the discussion boards after the unreasonably difficult exam this is literally 1984
