Tough grader, but not at all clear in her directions. When you ask her questions via email, she never answers them. Way too much busy work, and directions are confusing at best. If you really want to have a subject crammed down your throat via busy work and nonsense projects etc. with no explanation of what she wants, then definitely take her class

APA standards (6th ed.) needs to be followed to receive full credit on an assignment. APA mistakes could cost you a letter grade or two. Posts the due date for Monday yet marks off points if turned in on Saturday or Sunday thus turn in work early or lose points. 3 Case Studies, weekly posts, 2 monster APA papers and cumulative Final on whole book.

She has been the rudest teacher I have thus encountered. Every email I sent was respectful and she would be unhelpful and rude using exclamation points to demonstrate her unprofessional yelling. She never fully answered my questions and did not follow her own guidelines. She takes off points for turning an assign. in by the due time/date. Horrible!

Not only is she rude, unhelpful, and horrible at giving directions, but she will also prove to waste more of your time than any other professor. She gives tons of busy work that will not help you pass exams or do well in her class. Furthermore, she is a mean grader, so either give all that extra work your everything- or don't bother. By FAR the WORST teacher I have ever had to deal with. She never tries to meet with you to help - always an excuse or says to look at her example, grades extremely hard on annotated bibliographies, work load over spring break is absolutely ridiculous. Would drop and try to get course w different teacher if I was not graduating in May.

One of the worst teachers I've had. Not even the slightest bit helpful. She does not reply to emails in a timely manner, doesn't return phone calls, disregards questions and has no respect for students. Just awful, avoid this professor at ALL costs. If I wasn't graduating in May I would have already dropped this class.

Prof. Landy never returns phone calls or email. Her grading system is BS. She will have one thing posted but expect something completely different. Her discussions are impossible to get a 100% on. Her quiz and exams do not match the chapter that was assigned to read. Before you even start the class, better have the whole textbook memorized.

If you want your GPA to go downhill, than take this class. Lengthy Quizzes and no chances in submitting anything late. No mercy

To sum it up, you need to be a mind reader. The class itself is easy, but the professor is horrible. Her directions are unclear, and even if you follow them exactly, she will take off points for things she never asked you to do. If you bring it to her attention, she either does not reply or she gives attitude and sticks to the original grade.

She is extremely unclear about her expectations, even when you email her trying to clear things up. She obsesses over formatting and takes off major points for it. She doesn't give you feedback before the next assignment is due, so there is no chance to fix future formatting mistakes that you are unaware of. Beware of the tricky fine print.

I took her to legal and ethical principles, there is a lockdown browser but if you have another computer put it on the floor and than put your computer that you're using on seat of the chair and boom, you've beaten the lockdown browser. She is by far the worst professor at FGCU but win faculty awards - ridiculous.

Avoid Landy if you can. This professor only cares about APA format which is ridiculous because the information you learn is more important in the long run. I have gotten terrible grades on papers due SOLELY to the fact that my APA wasn't perfect by her standards. Seriously needs to get her priorities straight... DON'T TAKE.

Landy is by far one of the most disgusting professors I have ever had. She is mainly an online teacher now because taking her in class is far worse. She has been at this university for years and it is hard to believe she has been fired yet. Terrible amounts of useless busy work, and if you don't grasp a concept she belittles you with comments.

I abhor this course. I understand that this is university and instructors are supposed to challenge you but Landy takes it to an unnecessary max. I have pretty impressive writing skills, so I assumed I could get by. However, it's about a month from the end and I'm sitting on a 67%. Unclear grading criteria, OH AND NOT TO MENTION YOU MUST TAKE YOUR QUIZZES IN FRONT OF A WEBCAM, & does not put everything in syllabus in order to force you to go through the modules.

Do NOT take Landy for Senior Seminar!! The project choices she gives you are boring, and you basically write the same paper 4 times. She is a tough grader and gives horrible, super vague feedback. If you try to clarify things in an email, you will get a response such as "read the instructions." Not helpful and very condescending in her replies.

The fact that she is going to be almost always the only prof available for certain classes means you have to take her. Her grading makes no sense, specially when she grades papers on APA. She tells you to fix something a certain way and then goes and takes off points for doing so. Class itself is not difficult, easy quizzes from the book.

I took 4000 level sciences yet this online class I actually thought I'd fail. My peer went to the dean &they told Landy the students name &she flipped out on student.

You can be a straight A student and work very hard on her assignments and still receive a low grade. I would avoid taking her courses, if possible. I dropped this course on the second day because of how unfair and harsh she is. The attendance verification quiz was a complete joke and asked questions about how many acres of solar panels FGCU had?? I emailed her expressing my concern about my low score on what should be an easy quiz and her response was rude and demeaning. I immediately dropped.

No matter how hard you may work on a discussion, she will pick and find at least something wrong with it. Shes very strict on those, papers, and the exams are all webcam based. You cant avoid her. Im probably going to drop the class just so my failing grade wont stay on my transcript. Horrible

Her instructions are not clear, she has assignment due dates in the wrong modules. She is an extremely tough grader for papers and assignments. If you have one word wrong you get points deducted. Highly do not recommend her class to anyone.

This lady went from giving 20/20 on discussions to 10/20. It's like she was nice in the beginning and then became an evil professor at the end. She finds the SMALLEST things to nitpick about. One discussion asked for our perception on something and I used supporting references and she gave me a 14/20 for NO REASON and said "very weak" WHAT!?

I took physics this semester too, but this was the class that was stressing me out the MOST! Read her assignment instructions carefully, ESPECIALLY for the final exam. Make sure it's in the right format (7th Edition). I made sure my references page was perfect but she STILL found something to nitpick about. It's like she wants you to fail!

This professor is a trip. Honestly no matter how hard you try in this course she will have rudest comeback on discussions. Her exams were fair everything is in the book and make sure you check the module ppt because some questions came off from there. This teacher is in no form respectful and completely does not care about you. She will grade your paper purely on citation and WILL give you a 0 if you do not do things her way. I maintained a 95% all semester. The final exam was clear and I followed all guidelines. I received a 59/110 on the final exam with a comment stating that I didn't "demonstrate mastery". Her comments were disrespectful after putting in so much effort towards this exam. She dropped my 95% to a 87%. I am livid! This is by far the worst professor.

I have never left a review of anything in my life but I felt compelled to do so for her because she was just that awful. I am a Pre-Med 3.7 GPA student. I have Aced Organic Chemistry 1 and 2 which are arguably one of the hardest courses taught on campus, this was much worse. She is the reason people hate school and discontinued their pursuit.

Avoid taking her at all costs. Will require you to schedule appointments for simple answer questions. Unnecessarily wordy on assignments.

I did not have a problem with her but other students have. If she gives you a failing grade call Dr. Clacken and Dr. Felty they will make her give you a passing grade.

Really wished the professor would actually have empathy for her students and consider being clear about what she wants exactly to be done on assignments. She's known as one of the worse professors at FGCU for a reason. Not sure why she does this to us students who spend money on tuition for this course as she is one of the limited options. Received a 23% on the first case study, no one received higher than like a 30% which is crazy. The A- came at an expensive cost. I would advise you to take my experience with a grain of salt but the pattern is too consistent to ignore. Regardless of how you pay for tuition, you are investing in your future. A supportive, respectful environment is the bare minimum. FGCU needs to improve their health science department and this lady should improve her course structure or be removed from teaching. It our tuition money that we spend hours outside of school working... there are plenty of younger and educated people willing to be hired and actually teach.

The tests and quizzes are actually reasonable. You can definitely get an A on those if you read and study. The written portion of this class is genuinely insane though. She grades as if she delights in seeing people fail. Register early with a different professor or just wait till the next semester. Its a passable class, just not worth the trouble.

This professor is not very empathetic or understanding of student complications that may occur throughout the semester. Though deadlines are established, they are at untraditional times which makes it difficult to plan for and submit along with other assignments especially since they are not all at the same time. The workload is extremely heavy: three group projects requiring significant time and writing, weekly reading quizzes, and required discussion posts each week. I am not sure if she is purposely trying to drain us mentally and torture us with her harassment and behavior, but this has been tremendously overwhelming and disappointing. Karen Landy..not sure what happened to you in your childhood, but please get therapy and put your career on pause. You are not capable of being a professor, a good professor...

FYI, she has a 30% passing rate.

I barely am passing this course but this class and Karen herself suck so bad. Stay clear from her. I am taking 2 classes from her and the other one isn't as bad as the management class. She acts all sweet and kind on zoom and then is a grump on canvas. She makes the class and work harder than it has to be

This Professor has the most confusing course schedule ever. She has assignments due on Mondays at 9am but inside the assignment hidden, it says it due Thursday at 9am and there is no late work accepted. You will fail the first case study, whish is 70%. All her feedback on your writing is the same for all students, It's all copied and pasted.

She copies and pastes the feedback on the case studies for all the students, and grades based on favoritism. Who she wants to pass and who she wants to fail. She will pick random excuses for giving a bad grade, like using the word "therefore" in writing. What is wrong with therefore????? She really gave me a 0 just because of that word.

there's a reason why she's named karen. duh. dont be fooled by the fake 5/5 reviews. she definietley made them. she will seem so nice when you go to her office hours, but in reality, behind the screen, she'll leave the most heinous and brutal response ever. if you're not good at APA citation, u better start practicing. she's allergic to full credit

This professor is the worst EVER! She grades based on favoritism, in the case studies you have to be on there everyday to earn full credit but if she doesn't like you, she will give you a 0 just because. When she gives you feedback its copied and pasted from other students, nothing is hers. She will fail you, she enjoys people failing. DO NOT TAKE

Just really bad. My hair fell out because of her and the stress she put me under. I was also admitted to the hospital 2 times for anxiety attacks during her semester.

I met with her several times to help me understand how to improve my grade, but I was disappointed by the racial comments she made. I will be reporting her.

Karen Landy consistently provides unclear and inconsistent instructions that make completing assignments more difficult than they need to be. She posts two different sets of directions one in the case study and another in the learning module and important details are split between them. Unless you check both areas you'll miss required information.

Her directions are often misleading, and key pieces of information are left out entirely. It feels as though she intentionally leaves out details just to mark students down for things that were never clearly stated. Overall, this teaching style is frustrating, unhelpful, and does not reflect the level of organization or guidance students deserve.

Beginning of the class, I had a B average I ended up missing only one assignment a discussion worth 20 points, it caused my grade to drop quickly to a C The only reason I missed this assignment was how she organizes the calendar. She lists the due date as Monday, but actually required to post your response on Thursday or it's a automatic zero.

Dropped chemistry in order to focus on this class all the way. How is it that this course is harder than taking chemistry? Because it most definitely shouldn't be it's a writing class. FGCU needs to do better and start looking into this professor her conduct is horrible and her class averages reflect just that. Save yourself and take someone else

Started the semester with over 60 people in the class by the end of it only 19 people were left. She ended up taking over +17 people to the student review board due to using AI, we got a extension on some work because she couldn't focus on it due to having to write so many reports on others. She made this seem like it was OUR FAULT for this BTW.

If you have to wait another semester to take a different professor please do so she is not worth taking. Do yourself a favor and save yourself she will make you regret choosing her every day and you will not receive full credit for any of your work it will be close but never 100% I had to work so hard just to end up with a C :(

Everything negative said about this woman is true so when you make the choice to pick her I wish you the best. You will suffer don't give her a chance she is awful and you will have no one else to blame other then yourself she views us as inferior and incompetent. You can't fix someone that doesn't respect you or care about teaching from the start

She deserves a negative score. Rude & inconsiderate, and harsh grader, you will not get a 100%. Claims all DB posts & replies are "superficial or lacking critical thinking skills." Avoid this prof at ALL costs; it is not worth it. She needs a new career ASAP, and FGCU needs to improve their professor selection. Good luck if you are registered :)))

She is very STRICT on deadlines so pay attention! Final is FILL-IT-IN I didn't study and got a C- for reference. Shes SUPER strict with AI detection and was about to report me for 9% AI report on my 3k word essay. I spoke with her where this was resolved. This class took a lot outa me but if you read everything and dedicate time you should do ok.

Worst professor at FGCU. She was rude, calls all her students dumb, and says we don't deserve to graduate with out her say so. She enjoys making her students fail and tries her hardest to do that with ai accusations with no evidence. This professor needs to be fired so her torment on students can end. DO NOT TAKE HER PLEASE!!

She is the worst professor I have had taken here at FGCU, it's embarrassing that they have someone like her hired.
