I hate math, but she was an excellent professor. If you take notes and practice along with what she does on the board, you should be okay, she is fair. She definitely wants to make sure you learn.

She's really good. I didn't come to class for like 2 straight weeks, but did the graded assignments she had passed out and she took them like 2 weeks late after i apologized. She's pretty lenient on tests, gives partial credit and shows you what you did wrong in the equation. Very helpful.

She really knows her Math. Spent plenty of time discussing problems, and solved by any means necessary. Open book test makes for an easy A.

she is pretty good...i hated math before but after taking her class...i have hope...she'll help you undrestand the material and does the problems step by step...you have plenty of time to copy and ask questions....her tests are fair and not so hard...i strongly recommend her class :)

She is amazing if you aren't very proficient in math. She explains everything over and over. I loved it because sometimes you don't get things the first time around. If you want to do well in math TAKE THIS CLASS ... I really enjoyed her as my teacher...

One of the best math teachers at NVCC. She brings an enthusiasm to math which is hard to find. Always upbeat, postive and willing to help students on a personal level. Only negative I can say about Mrs. Lesser is her voice, ALMOST piercing, mmkay?

Excellent teacher! She explains everything in great detail and clarity! She is very knowledgeable of the subject she teaches, and will explain how the math problems relate to future math classes if asked. In the case of MTH 004, she would do a quick review before the test. I look forward to taking more of her math classes in the future!

easy class. She's very helpful and explains each topic very clearly. The quizes, worksheets, and tests aren't too difficult if you prepare yourself very well. It's a great class. she's a good teacher.

i took statistics with her....it was easy bc all of the tests were take-home and the quizzes were as well. do not buy the book, all of the notes are on-line. you have to go to class bc attendence counts towards your grade. but you can easily get and A....she is just annoying to listen to

This was an easy class. If you have no prior knowledge to statsistics its pretty easy. she gives you all the notes on her website. You have liek 4 tests all take home tests. Its take home cause most of them reuire about 2 hours to complete but not hard just time consuming. she explains the math pretty well. attendence isnt mandotory

She is an easy going teacher. YOu dont need books, u just need to take her notes. She tests and quizez are Good. I got a B from her class. She is very nice.

I just finished Stats 242 w/ her. Yes the tests are take home, but doesn't mean they're easy. I went to class everyday, took notes, somehow didn't keep up. The book isn't needed here. I did absolutely fine in Stat 241, but when i got to this class, it was pretty hard for me. I wouldn't take class w/ her again.

I've seen stat taught in a way that involves Excel. It's a typical lecture and test class. You get points for attendance. HW isn't graded. Quizzes are given out randomly (5~6 total) 4 tests (we only had 1 take home). she does say "Alriteee" a lot with a high pitch, if that bothers anyone. Grades fairly. I got a C without putting too much effort.

She is a nice teacher. She is very easy and not easy at the same time. You are aloud to use notes and the book on tests and quizzes but the tests are hard if you dont study. Just study and practice. Just try and you will do well. Do the homework

Yes she speaks loudly, and repeats a lot, but she is easy to work with. Homework is reviewed every class but is not actually required. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit, and she is willing to make adjustments for the class. For example, lots of us were unable to finish an exam so we got to retake it. Be ready for pop quizzes.

Her class is very easy to follow. On tests/quizzes we were allowed to use open notes/textbook which helped a great amount. When you have questions on the test and on other things she is very helpful. The only negative thing is that her lessons tend to be a little boring but overall I would definitely want to have her as a teacher again

Tough, but fair professor. Show up to class, Study her Power Points, and Do your homework and you should be fine. Tests are open notebook!!! I can't stress this enough...show up and listen.

She is one of the best math teacher i have ever met. She explained things clearly so that even a novice in Math could understood her. Though it is my first time taking a statistics class, she made me interested in the course. I will recommend her 100%. Thank you professor, i am indeed grateful!

I really liked her class. i was overwhelmed at first, then she told us we could use our notes for the tests. It got a whole lot better from there. She is willing to go above and beyond to help out if you are willing to put in the work. I recomend that you attend each class and take notes because you can use them!

Open Note TEST... This was an easy course attendence is part of your grade and she does have homework in the text book but they arent collected and i never did them... Use power points and write down examples most of test questions look exactly like examples except diff. numbers

She's one of the best teachers at Nova. She's clear in explaining the material. You get points just for being present in class so attendance is mandatory, but hey they're easy points. Tests aren't hard if you study notes(avail. on blckboard). Drops lowest test score. She's super nice and will help you if you ask.

Took 151 class this summer, would definitely recommend, there were only 4 chapters and we never stayed for the entire class yet we were easily able to cover everything.

She is a good teacher. I believe that she explains the material very clear. Also, she is helpful outside from the class. I never study for any of the test and I finish with B. Only advice I can say if you are not good in numbers do not take this class because you have to be familiated with the calculator. Good semester and enjoy this class.

Good teacher--even though she takes several minutes to go over a simple problem and repeats common sense facts, I would rather have that then a teacher who skipped over the process. Open book test but PAY ATTENTION TO DETAILS! Gives a few ways to get a few extra points, but do all the homework and read the book as well as show up to class.

This professor is amazing. She explains every thing so well. You just have to practice the problems that she assigns you from textbook. Exams are so fair because they are literally the examples she talks about in class. Furthermore, it is open book and notes. You can't ask for more. Just make sure you understand the concept and you will do great.

She speaks math. She tries to relate it to "layman's terms", but it's math. If you don't get the concept, no amount of explanation in the world will help you. Aside from that, she's very straight-forward about earning your grade, and doesn't award extra credit very often.

I don't know what a lot of people here are saying. She is a fine teacher. Just because you need to put in a little work into the class doesn't mean that she's a bad teacher. She definitely knows her stuff, and if you are willing to put in a little bit of work can teach you a fair amount.

Organized and very personable with her students. Online access code used that includes a few pages from an online text book. Got through units 6-8 and currently finishing unit 9. She can pass or fail you based on the work you put into the class. Math takes practice so spend as much time in the math tutor lab to keep track with syllabus deadlines.

I really liked her! She allowed notes during the exams, and used the entire class period before an exam for review.

i enjoyed Ms. Lesser, the first time i took this course with another teacher i failed. the second time i took this class lesser made it very easy for me. lets you use your notes on the exam. great teacher would take again

She is a great teacher. She always answers your questions and gives you extra help if you need it. If you do your hw and pay attention in class youll be just fine. She also provides with extra credits for the tests which help you a lot. I definitely recommend her class.

Professor Lesser is super nice and understanding. Midterm/exam was tricky. You have plenty of time to complete the excel sheets and homework. Short online quizzes, you have two tries to do both. Provides extra credit. Very reasonable and is a great, sweet person!

Professor Lesser is a very sweet lady who cares about her students. She said this is her first time teaching 154 and besides some confusion with the syllabus, she did a great job! Very clear and fair grading criteria, as well as many extra credit opportunities.

There is a lot of homework that would take other students and I hours to complete. The good thing is the homework really helped you understand the material! Her lectures were very informative and if you missed class there were posted on BB so you could catch up! if you take time to study you grade will be amazing, even if you're not good at math!

Math has always been my worst subject but professor Lesser did teach/help me a lot. Lectures prepare you for quizzes and tests. My only complaint are the Excels, throughout the entire semester I never fully understood them and they were kinda pointless.
