Ms. Lubick is an awsome teacher! If you are interested in English she can really teach you alot. She teaches because she likes to teach and not just for a job. The class was a little bit hard but what english class isnt?

Very clear and approachable. She will force you to become a better writer (and thinker) whether you want to or not! I would recommend her for any English level (she's not proofreading this...is she?).

She's very good at getting people talking in class, she's a very comfortable person to be around and brings the best out of her students. In fact, she does mandatory conferences with you on your paper, which forces you to do things on time and proof read like it should be.

she was agreat teacher I took her for english 099 and will take her again for 101. she helps and guides you with your paper and and has an open mind to what everyone writes about. she doesn't have a certain form of writing just as long that you get to the point have some details and make it follow well. A fairly popular professor. would recommend her class for freshman English students. Offers Extra Credit. Grades are based on a point system, which could be an issue for certain students. While the point system might make it easier to see where one stands in class, it belongs more in a math class than an English one.

She is difficult but will really help you with your writing abilities. Fun assignments too!

She's a really helpful teacher.

This was a pretty difficult English class. I was used to getting an easy A in anything English related, but Ms. Lubick taught me many things, such as how to think clearer and become an even better writer. She always takes time for her students and believes in group discussion.. its amazing how much I also learned from my fellow classmates.

Class is difficult but if you try your best you can pass this class. Essay topics are interesting and you do a lot of group activities. Shes very helpful so dont be afraid to ask

Ms.Lubicks 099 class was fairly easy to me. i hardly made it to class but still passed. she requires 4 essays and 4 blue books, which will later be put into a portfolio to determine pass or fail. it seemed like all we focused on was our essays. very very little class work, her class is boring but easy

shes kind of a dork, but she tries to make you laugh, show to the group discussions for the essay (there worth 50% of the essay grade) and just try to follow along and turn everything in on time. the conferences are helpful if yo ask questions, don't just go in expecting her to tell everything you need to do to fix your paper.

Ms. Lubick is an amazing teacher! She encourages critical thinking and she doesn't let you glide by with BSing your work. She's super passionate about what she teaches and really enjoys it so that makes it fun to work with her. Also, if you care about your work and your grade she cares about your work and your grade and she's extremely helpful.

I took her for fall 2010 and I must say that ms lubick is a fantastic teacher! Very kind. Very helpful. Work isn't that much just essays and as long as you pay attention then you will pass the class.

I had Ms. Lubick several years ago. I really enjoyed her class. She was firm but fair. Very helpful to me, especially during office hours. Sure her class is not easy but just do your required assignments & you will pass. IF YOUR A SLACKER, DON'T TAKE THIS CLASS!!! I will take her English classes again.

Ms.Lubick is fantastic and amazing teacher. I Highly Recommend her. All that is required is to turn in all your work. If you need help or have any questions go to her office, she is more than happy to help or send her an email, she does answer you. If you do not like to read, you will not like this class. You will learn a lot if you listen.

Ms. Lubick is sooo nice! her class was interesting and fun! her Honors class was so easy, just one novel and 2 essays and a big Research paper but they were soo easy I got an A!

Took her Honors course. Splendid professor that employed daily discussion, encouraged critical thinking and analysis, and stressed the importance of essay revision through peer editing and essay conferences. Her course is not necessarily hard but require putting in work and time. Each class meeting was productive and grading felt lenient.

I knew Prof. Lubick from Alpha Iota. She asked me to take her Eng. 103 honors class. She is an amazing professor and I highly recommend her. She helped me become a better writer. Class was very interesting. Prof. Lubick is an asset at AVC. She is patient, and strict. You will learn in her class. Work level is medium.

She is an AMAZING teacher!!! took her for 101 and 103, she makes everything clear on what she wants from you, this class was soo much tougher than 101 but you learn soo much!! take her anytime you have the opportunity! such a wonderful teacher!

I enjoy this teacher as a person. She actually likes her students and does not treat people like "its" or "objects." She is not an authoritarian as some other teachers are known to be. You have to work hard in this class and complete the readings. You should study the readings a number of times to really comprehend what various writers are relaying

Karen is a gem. She helps develop your individuality as a writer. You have to work hard and give her your best. She likes her students, listens, although she has a lot of work to do. There r teachers who I hear berate people and start them with low self-esteem but Karen is not that type. If you hate writing do not take this. You will learn so much

She is like a high school AP teacher. She makes learning fun but is not an easyA. Put in a decent amount of effort and you will do fine.

I've always been a writing nerd, so her class was a dream come true; I understand that's not true for everyone. She breaks down her writing tips really well and has safety nets to rescue weaker writers, and she's really cheerful and fun, particularly if you can geek out with her about your essay. An excellent teacher for a certain type of student.

She is very helpful and wants all her students to pass. I thought her class was easy and the work in the class was not too difficult. There is a lot of reading in her class, that you have write about in a journal. You have two papers to write and the third is optional because you can do a presentation instead.

She was a nice and helpful teacher, but she accused almost my almost whole class of plagiarism and made us rewrite our essays. She is a bit opinionated and could be a bit rude if you disagree with her.

Amazing teacher, I really fear writing, but she has made it so easy to understand and has helped my be able to put my thoughts into paper. Ms.Lubick is very organized and prepares you for what is to be expected to do well in her class. There is a lot of reading and writing in her class as should be, given it's an English class. What eased my fear and stress was the open discussions and groups we had about works we read. Her style and method taught me to be a better writer.

Ms.Lubick was one of the greatest, if not the only teacher, English teacher I have had. I don't understand why many are afraid to take her, she really cares for her students and appreciates those who ask for her help. She taught me to so much, you literally have to be a very lazy to not be able to pass her class.

She is not easy. I got an A because I tried really hard. Just pay attention to lectures and read all required reading before class because she does give pop quizzes. Also, participate in the class discussions because she tracks participation points. Overall she is a good teacher, but I probably wouldn't take her again.

Her class was way easier than I had expected. Just read the essays in the text book and participate in group circles and you should have no problem. The essays are rather easy. For timed essays she even says that she grades on how well you wrote rather than your actual response to the prompt. She is always there to help. I would recommend her!

Participation is a huge deal in this class. Participating is easy as long as you read the stories. She grades essays kind of hard but is open to help you improve on them. I wouldn't take again but it was a good experience.

Karen is a great teacher. She is very friendly and informative. There is a LOT of reading, and grade in class relies heavily on it, as well as student-led discussions. Get ready to write, too. She is a fairly tough essay grader, but do the reading and give good insight, and you'll be fine. Would take again!

I would highly recommend professor K. Lubick she really cares about her students and gives nothing but positive feedback. In her class you will work in groups, have peer review before turning in your essay's and discuss chosen stories from your English book. Personally I thought her class was fun and I passed!

She is a really great professor that likes all of her students. She is very fair, but that also means that she will rarely bend the rules or grade easily. However, it doesn't matter too much because her papers aren't too hard as long you have some opinion and put a decent amount of effort.

i HATE speaking infront of the class however taking her class made it so much more easier. you sit in a big circle and as a class talk about your opinion on the readings ( which were all very interesting). easy topic on essays. and she will cancel class if she thinks its a waste of time. gives a couple quizzes on MLA. overall very easy

Professor Lubick is very sweet and she is willing to take extra time to improve your skills. She expects your best and she gives very in depth literary assignments. She wants you to exercise your acquired English skills. There are no tests except the FINAL, papers are more than 6 pages, and she will throw some curve balls. Be ready lots of reading

She really is a tough grader she wont give A's on her papers its very rare those who do receive A's. She is tough on you but she makes it clear that its for the best and she really cares that you learn. She is always willing to help.

I took her over the summer so we had a timed essay each week & we had for hw another essay due the following week. It wasnt too hard but you dont want to be too busy this class does take up a bit of your time bc you wanna make sure your essays are good but overall shes nice & not much reading and shes willing to help u out on ur work. i recommend

I loved her! She's super nice and helps you on your papers, and tells you how to improve them. Also you have to make sure your grammar is correct on your writing she checks it a lot, and takes points off if they are wrong.

She gets the class very involved with one another and really helped me understand literary analysis better than before. Although, she is a tough grader and you really have to work for the grade. I did love her compassion for the subject but sometimes she came off a bit rude. Would only take again due to familiarity.

Ms. Lubick is a good teacher. She has a passion for English. Overall I would take her again. If you do your work on time you should be fine. The stuff isn't as difficult, it's more time consuming.

Very caring teacher ! I couldn't recommend her enough! There is a lot of times where you need to participate in the class but it is not intimidating, in fact she creates a very comfortable space to participate in. There will be quite a bit of reading but it is honestly what is expected from a college English class.
